Aggretsuko (ONA)

Aggretsuko (ONA)

Introduction

Some offices have stereotypical dynamics: the chauvinistic pig of a boss who never does any real work; the employees whose goal is to suck up to the boss; the ones whose lives seem perfect; and the individuals who have all the actual work pushed onto them. Retsuko the red panda is in the last group, as she stays late most nights to make up the work her coworkers are too lazy to do themselves. Her relief from the stress of her everyday life comes in the form of singing death metal at a local karaoke club. Night after night, Retsuko channels her grief into a microphone and considers the place to be her own personal sanctuary. But as she moves further away from her comfort zone and the ideas people have of her, she discovers that letting others into her world of death metal may not be such a bad thing. A fairly simple, easy to binge anime with short episodes. I remember it being pretty popular and highly acclaimed when it came out due to its realistic depiction of a modern adult life but it then kind of sank into irrelevancy. It's not the deepest in the world, it's not the funniest in the world, but it's got likeable and fairly realistic characters dealing with fairly realistic everyday issues. There's no big, massive problems that can't be resolved, there's no real mystery, there's no huge dramas. This is a simple little anime you can stick on between you're heavier or more intense watches for a bit of an unwind. I think if you're a high schooler, you probably wouldn't really get much from this because it explores daily issues you have to experience in your normal 9-5 job but there…

Review of Aggretsuko (8/10) Aggressive Retsuko is deceptively cute on the surface, but beneath its Sanrio charm lies a sharp, relatable satire of modern adult life. It brilliantly captures the soul-crushing grind of corporate culture, passive-aggressive coworkers, toxic bosses, and the quiet rage we bottle up—only to scream out in death metal karaoke after hours. Retsuko is instantly lovable as the everywoman trying to survive it all, and her character arc feels real. The show balances comedy and commentary well, never getting too preachy, yet always hitting close to home. The supporting cast—from the terrifyingly empowering Gori and Washimi to the infuriating Director Ton—adds spice and variety. The art is simple, but expressive and effective. Pacing is tight, especially in the short-f…

I don't have much to say, just that I love it. I don't know why, but sometimes I watch ALL THE OVAs in 2-3 days. The story, the music and the characters are really good. I love everything about it and I never get bored. The story tells the adult life of a woman with a cute look who has adopted the "good girl" demeanor her entire life and when she has had enough, she transforms from a great office worker into a wild metalhead. This anime shows that it's natural to hate your asshole boss or your two-faced coworker, and it's also okay to dream of a better life, while you try your best. Of course, to forget the horrible reality while watching it, it brings up a lot of funny situations. I just wish more people would see and embrace the rage within and give themselves a hug because they've did…

I was close to dropping the show when it seemed like just office shenanigans bookended with some death metal venting. It's a lot more than that though. Retsuko has a lot of hardships to work through, and following her through her journey to try and find purpose was a treat. I found myself being happy for her when makes some friends, and enjoyed the death metal parts as well. Lots of memorable characters too, with cute designs. Especially Retsuko. Overall, a good show that goes deeper than you might think. I recommend it. I don't really know what else to write on this review. I don't want to spoil anything.

When I saw the first ep, I was like "WTF was THAT?" Didn't really know what to make of it, but it was weird enough to intrigue me into the 3 Eps test. I'm so glad I gave it a chance. The artwork? Eh, looks like a high school art project. The animation is a little better, but it comes up amazingly short a lot of the time. This is much more episodic, than having any kind of plot. It's far from perfect. There are some running gags that kind of loosely string episodes together. What makes this worthwhile is the characters and their goofy antics. The MC is a cute, shy, insecure little red panda office worker. But in her spare time, she's breaking out into dope Death Metal karaoke. OMG, I almost fell on the floor and died of laugher. I never knew what was coming next with this series, and I…

Aggretsuko is good for hanging out My only problem with this anime is probably its boring but necessary first season The plot is slow and even becomes annoying because it is obvious what the end of the first season will be, even so things are clear from the beginning, Showing the romantic interest of haida, the relationship that Fenneko and Retsuko have, and what Retsuko is like (basically meeting the protagonist). I hate the first season of this anime for being so slow but what's done is done and it became very addictive at the time, being one of my favorite animes ESP: Aggretsuko es bueno para pasar el rato Mi unico problema con este anime es probablemente la primera temporada, la cual es aburrida pero necesaria La trama es lenta y se vuelve incluso molesta debido a que es obvio cu…

This will cover all 5 seasons without spoilers. A sweet, extremely relatable dramedy about office drama and common social issues with endearing characters. Each character reflects a common coworker personality almost everyone has and puts them into zany yet grounded life office issues. The main draw is how close to home the scenarios these characters are in, and how it looks at the situations under an optimistic and realistic lens. You will feel all the emotions the characters are feeling: stress, despair, hopeful, confident, etc. The show does its best to keep things fresh and moving to avoid being boring and repetitive. The show is constantly introducing new characters and developing the preexisting characters by giving them new dynamics to the main character. The show balances between…

Comedy. It comes in many different forms. From comedians making audiences of thousands laugh at his witty jokes, to discord memes that seem to contain the most racist shit of all time, to comedy you watch on a television show. Whether it be a live action (Friends) or a cartoon (South Park), they almost never fail to make you laugh. Now we need to address one thing: when has a show worn out it's comedy? For series like South Park or Family Guy, they've been running for a very long time and still seem to hold up with the comedy. However, when it comes to anime comedy, there are really only a few good comedy anime that come to mind. Those being Grand Blue, Konosuba, and Gintama(I haven't seen this yet but I've heard good things). There might be some other people who like to talk about series…

*Spoiler Free* Amidst all of the the monotony of our daily lives what is it that pushes us forward towards the new day? Is it worth to smile and express joy despite everything life throws at us? Aggressive Retsuko does a stellar job of answering the above questons. Retsuko, as in the description, is about a red panda who goes about her daily life with friends and deals with various hardships by coping with them in her own unique way. This series will put you in a spin of joy, tears, and cheer as you root for this protagonist who displays her emotions vividly in the way she lives (although not all the time) and how she grows her relationships with others. With her friends Haida and Fenneko and various others, she goes on to progress through her difficult work life and growing social life a…

SUMMARY:Entertaining and deeper than it seems. When you see images of Retsuko for the first time, the first thing you think is that it is a super cute anime and characters living happily ever after, in reality it is quite the opposite, you follow the life of an office worker and since work is not nor what she wanted and not what she expected it to be, it really is very entertaining and its format of 10 episodes and 15-minute chapters encourages you to see the next episode, pretty good. PD:Great OST.

If u can’t handle tdlr there’s a review at bottom for you Normal Review: Anyways this is an anime I’d describe as an SOL the sol that doesn’t focus on one single thing. It’s broad. From shitty bosses to a love life. Annoying assistants to karaoke. Always right moms to terrible yakisoba. It’s too broad like an anime sitcom that’s also broad SOL. The story is as I said broad and there is always something in Retsuko’s life that you can relate to. However some parts of the story were bland to me but that’s the bare minimal boring bits. The art is very very unique. The way I feel any walking anime animal would look like. It seems as a very fun kind of art that is simple but hard to tame. I heard the guy who voices Retsuko’s karaoke is the husband of the lady who voices normal Retsuko. It’s g…

How can I say this. This anime is absolutely hilarious. All throughout it's 10 episodes it had me laughing my lungs out to the point off tears all while covering some relatable problems in an office job and in relationships. The story itself is rather formulaic it follows Retsuko and her stressful problems in the office space as well as her interactions with the people in said office space. Retsuko herself is amazing due to the fact that she embodies something that a lot of people have, pent up stress. She also handles jobs and events that stress her out and a lot of other people as well. In simple terms she's incredibly relatable all while being absolutely hilarious. All the other characters are joys to be around as well Fenneko being that person who constantly goes online and makes a…

The show is very cute and very relatable in a way that doesn't feel cheesy or overdrawn. The soundtrack and mixing is absolutely fantastic and the color saturation is enough to at least get you hooked right away. The story is light but I think it works well for the show itself and I don't need a Tolkien-esque story with the most lore all the time. It is very good and I love it. I watch anime to help with my immersion of Japanese in America. I would say this one is a bit difficult with accents, dialects and pitches that make it harder. The words are not the simplest in terms of recognizability for those looking for that. They are good in both subtitles and dubbed English(I have watched both) but the subtitled has a more natural dialogue while the English can feel a tad choppy.

Honestly, I watched this out of pure recommendation, just because I heard it was about death metal, a musical genre that relaxes me, and frankly, I laughed. I found myself laughing many times. And also headbanging, and dancing in my panties all over my room. If I understand this well, it's created for the Japanese branch of Netflix, I have no idea if it had any kind of occidental influence (or money) because the series has a sort of Nintendo style to it. It looks like a long-lost rhythm game for the DS if anything. A time when videogames were art. The graphical style got me hooked on the series, these critters are cute, the facial expressions they pull, even just how they move by going from the foreground to the background (reminding me of Paper Mario, at times). The soundtrack to this se…

A simplified Bojack Horseman: Warning: This review contains out of context mini spoilers, for the most part they just say what's generally happening and doesn't dive tooooo deep. Aggresuko, yes I call it that, is a light-hearted chibi anime about normal office work until it takes a weird twist revealing the true side of Retsuko she is not brave to show off. This thing has already got 3 seasons and an upcoming 4th one and I saw it on Netflix and YouTube about and I was like, what's it gonna harm me to watch? 15 minutes and 10 episodes is shorting then your usual anime and since I have a lot of anime on my hands that are 25 episodes I considered to relax and watch this as a one-off not expecting much but oh boy! Story: It establishes itself as an office lady in accounting called Retsuko w…

This anime is very very cute I highly recommend if you like to watching cute amines. The art work is simple but fit the anime perfectly. the story line is very addicting easy to relate to with work life dealing with a mean boss and odd coworkers. Also having little to no 'luck with the romance part of life. this anime is perfect to binge watch expressly now a days being stuck in side. its easy to watch. You do not even have to like or enjoy metal music to enjoy this lovely anime. I highly recommend watching this anime as its sweet and a nice winding down anime.

Should you watch Aggretsuko? Yes. This anime is amazing, its very funny for those of us that have had to deal with annoying bosses, or any type of frustrating from work. The show does a great job at implementing characters that you can relate to in it. Regardless of where you work there's always the kiss up, or the one that is always gossiping and so on. The sound is very well done, its something that you dont expect from a show that is only 15min long. You can expect to finish this season very quickly and be watching season 2 before you know it. This show is also very fun to watch with some friends. Add this to your plan to watch and if you find yourself with 15min on your hands try this one out you wont regret it.

I have been in a workplace for more than a decade now and this anime obviously do their research exceedingly right! All drama, politics, and stress that one grown-up can felt were well thought in this anime with the addition of entertainment and slice of life's comedy, I find it really amusing because I can really relate to this which I didn't expect I will. The story is the ace of the entire series, it was outstandingly entertaining and I didn't notice that I have already finished it and watching season 2 already because I am full of myself and enjoying Retsuko so much. It was not all fur or any, but it really tackles the daily life of a woman who is a newcomer who is awkward in growing up and experience corporate life with struggles, pressure, as well as excitement despite the ordinar…

This is a fun cute anime, Kinda had hello kitty look to it, but its an enemy a lot of us can enjoy since it can be relatable to almost anyone, for me personally it was the whole aspect of working an office job, and the stress that comes with in, in main characters case she manages her stress, anger and feelings by going to a karaoke club, and singing death metal songs, it might sound strange, but its actually very interesting anime. The hello kitty look of the anime might throw people off, but i feel its an anime a lot of people can enjoy due the fact that its relatable to everyday life, character development is great, and you get an idea of the people who work around the main character, what their about as well which is pretty cool as well That being said the latter part of the anim…
