Attack on Titan

Attack on Titan

Introduction

Centuries ago, mankind was slaughtered to near extinction by monstrous humanoid creatures called Titans, forcing humans to hide in fear behind enormous concentric walls. What makes these giants truly terrifying is that their taste for human flesh is not born out of hunger but what appears to be out of pleasure. To ensure their survival, the remnants of humanity began living within defensive barriers, resulting in one hundred years without a single titan encounter. However, that fragile calm is soon shattered when a colossal Titan manages to breach the supposedly impregnable outer wall, reigniting the fight for survival against the man-eating abominations. After witnessing a horrific personal loss at the hands of the invading creatures, Eren Yeager dedicates his life to their eradication by enlisting into the Survey Corps, an elite military unit that combats the merciless humanoids outside the protection of the walls. Eren, his adopted sister Mikasa Ackerman, and his childhood friend Armin Arlert join the brutal war against the Titans and race to discover a way of defeating them before the last walls are breached. Top 3, if not the best anime there is. The story is out of this world. Top notch animation and art style, thrilling moments and cliffhanger episodes, plot twists, character developments, soundtracks, fight scenes all are of the best quality. so don't watch it :) watch some average and mid anime 1st, then watch this masterpiece. only then u will realise how goat-ed this piece is. even a side character has better character arc then mc of most anime don't think there would people that would hate it. there are mixed feelings about the ending, but there couldn't have been a more fitting ending

When I first started watching anime, I really resisted watching AoT. Back then, everyone was talking about it and saying that once you watched it, you'd never be able to enjoy other anime the same way again because it would raise your standards so much. And yeah, I actually believed them. After watching 20 anime, I finally decided to give AoT a shot. And it ended up becoming one of the best experiences I've ever had. I won't deny that it's a masterpiece, but let me also put an end to the whole "you won't be able to enjoy other anime after watching AoT" thing. Anyone who says that probably hasn't watched more than 5 anime. And I also genuinely don't understand people who call AoT garbage. Sometimes it feels like they're more annoyed that AoT is more popular than their favorite series than t…

I love levi very much me and levi and erwin would live a happy life together. all three of us together kissing This review needs more information! Here are a few ideas of what you may want to include: Is the story unique? If it was predictable, did you enjoy it anyway because you like this genre/set-up? Do you think the art style is fitting for the story? Were the characters well-rounded? Did they have flaws and strengths, or were they unusually strong/smart/stupid? Did the characters react to situations and events in a realistic way? Do you think others will enjoy/dislike this series, even if you didn't? Why?

Just to be clear, I'm only giving this first season a 10/10. Everything that comes after is a mixed bag of controversial opinions and given tastes among the fanbase. Attack on Titan is like that one horse meme where the tail-end is drawn exceptionally well, and then it gets progressively worse once you reach the head. Season 1 was so successful in 2013 that the mangaka, and the Production Committees at the time, wanted to squeeze the cash-cow dry. So, Isayama decided to make a part 2 without regard for story consistency, or how it will even connect to Season 1. Granted, Season 2 still delivers some great episodes; however that's when the cracks start showing. Once you get to Season 3, everything goes downhill. I wouldn't be surprised if the mangaka just lazily came up with this shit as he…

While I do stand by the rating of (9) for this first season, I want to write this as a warning for some. Because while there's a couple of episodes in Part 2 of Season 3 that are just peak, not just for the series, but for all media, you have to be aware that you won't have a good time with the ending if you're investing your limited time into this. Shingeki is a show with an exceptional high-concept premise. S1 not only delivers on that premise but offers one of the most gripping episode-to-episode experiences. I actually can't think of a show that held my attention so intently since... maybe S1 of Prison Break. Ironically another show that could only handle it for a season until it broke down into comical storylines. Isayama himself admitted he wanted the ending of Attack on Titan to…

One of the biggest mistakes of my life was putting this masterpiece off for so long. I kept telling myself I would watch Attack on Titan eventually, and now that I’ve finally finished it in 3 days :P, I honestly don’t know what took me so long. Say whatever you want about it, but there’s a reason this anime is so popular. What surprised me the most is how much more complex it is than I ever thought it could be. I started it expecting a brutal anime about humans fighting giant monsters, but it slowly turned into something so much bigger. The more you watch, the more you realize that there was always something happening underneath the surface. The animation is incredible, especially considering how much the series changes throughout its run. The action scenes are still some of the most ins…

This anime deserves all the glaze it gets. AOT is genuinely one of the best-written anime I've ever seen. The characters are incredibly well written, their development feels natural, and the women are actually written as characters instead of being constantly sexualized. The story, foreshadowing, world-building, themes, and payoff are on another level. And honestly, some of these bad reviews are pure denial. I’m not saying you have to call AOT your favorite anime, but people act like it’s objectively poorly written just because it surpassed their favorite, it’s hard to take those reviews seriously. You can prefer another anime while still admitting when something is exceptionally well made. ⚠️DO NOT WATCH THIS AS A FIRST ANIME BECAUSE YOU WILL EXPECT TOO MUCH FROM OTHER ANIME⚠️ AOT is a…

Currently I am re-watching attack on Titan and I'm gonna say from my youth to watching it now this series was completely overhyped and I am very apologetic to anyone that I had recommended the show to. I say this because the conversations nay be to rich for some viewers, and I shouldn’t have been so reckless recommending it. Season 1 is by far the only solid season out of everything that you will get from the next 3 seasons. The pacing is pretty accurate for establishing a world with Cliff Hangers, characters situation's etc. It's going to take its time unfolding everything while also leaving most of the imagination to decipher meanings. AOT really draws you in and I definitely still love season 1 & 2 just as much as I did the original run that I saw it. However, if you make it passed sea…

Busy rn so can't write a proper review, but I like to review a show as soon as I've seen it and it's already been 2 weeks since then... I first heard about this when I was a kid on YouTube, when there was some channel reviewing upcoming manga so it caught my attention when it got an anime adaptation.I watched it with my brother, and we turned it off when Eren's mom gets eaten.. A year or two later, I kept hearing about it; it felt like half the people at Comic-Con were dressed as Survey Corps at the time so I decided to go back and watch it again and have been watching since. I did get bullied for watching anime back then so I stopped ... and now I'm 24. I binged the whole series, and for sure there was some nostalgia, which is why I rated it an 8 instead of a 9 but still, even knowing…

A dark, gritty anime that truly excelled when it tried to showcase the horrors of war and the struggle for survival. When it managed to hit its stride(and it didn't take long), it was one of the more compelling anime I've seen. But it didn't manage to keep that going, and instead fell victim to horrific pacing issues, and excruciatingly drawn out banality. Unlike other criticisms I've heard, I actually didn't have a problem with its cliche characters. I wouldn't disagree they're cliche, sure, but personally I'm a sucker for idealist determined-type leads. And I had no problem getting fired up with Eren or the others. Call them cliche if you like, but the world that SnK depicts truly deserves and needs such cliches. The stubborn idealists, the weak and broken who rise to the occasion whe…

(Spoiler Free) Attack On Titan Season 1 is a gripping 25 episodes that hooks you on the very first episode with its unique and dark elements creating a brutal world that sees the characters struggling every episode. It is an emotional and visual spectacle for watchers just getting into anime and will do doubt leave its mark -but it has its flaws. The pacing of the mid-to-latter section of this season feels drawn out past its sweet spot and leaves you wanting to reach the climax sooner as episodes tend to blend together and dull themselves. The action is great: its animated well and the style of combat makes every interaction dynamic and volatile, it glues our eyes to the screen - yet most of it feels meangingless. It's almost arbritary action that fluffs up the screentime between importan…

Season 1 picks up near the end, but the first half was a slog to get through. If it wasn't for the fact i agreed to see the whole season for a friend, I wouldn't have ever gotten to any good parts the season has. Season 2 seems promising, though I am unsure whether I will continue watching as there are plenty of other shows that are good from episode 1. It seems like it's setting up something interesting, just whether sitting through at least 12 episodes of boredom is worth it or not. More stuff for mal so i can post this: art style - not great, though the cg works quite well in battles characters - fairly 1 dimensional so far, hopefully season 2 might change that world building - the world building is interesting with the odm gear being an interesting battle mechanic.

Good introductory season but is overrated. I'm tired right now, I walked most of the day and I'm doing this review at almost 4 in the morning, so I'll do my best. Overall, most of the season is good, with a striking and iconic pilot that lays the groundwork for future storylines which, from what I've seen in other reviews, are well utilized. I like the dystopian world in which this show is set, that medieval atmosphere with some steampunk and some politics; in general, politics is only touched upon very rarely this season, but I've also seen that it will be the central focus of the following seasons. Another thing to highlight about this anime in general is that the way it portrays despair is quite original; in the first few episodes alone, they introduce us to a group that could be the…

Never Listen To A Yeager Attack on Titan Is the story about one angry little boy, who becomes an angry man, and then decide that every decision should be made by him and him alone, and this is the story of his great journey. Humanities last stand against the Titans, it's such a great premise and it is delivered on amazingly. you can really feel the desperation, with how every small victory is one step closer to the end of this nightmare, even if you have to stand on your comrad's bodies. What it does amazingly, and is what keeps one going through it, is the pacing. how it keeps escalating higher and higher, and keeps finding new plot twist and interesting reveals that makes one feel like the world is getting deeper and deeper. it is so good at the mystery part and paying that off, that…

I will start here where everything began. After recently finishing Attack on Titan I can say it exceeded my expectations and I enjoyed it a lot. I will keep this comment short since I don’t want to make it too long. The plot twists keep changing how you see the story and the characters grow a lot over time. Watching them go through hard choices makes the story even better. Each season adds something new and makes the story more interesting. Another thing that I liked about the anime was the use of symbolism. There were many different symbols in the story and religious and historical symbols were definitely included. The music was really good and made many scenes feel more emotional and intense. The animation is great with smooth action scenes and amazing details. Quick Ratings: Story: 10…

This review evaluates "Attack on Titan" as a whole, not just the first season. It is entirely spoiler-free. "Shingeki no Kyojin" is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The narrative courage and integrity set it apart. Nearly one hundred episodes, yet not a single one feels like a waste of time. Pacing feels perfect - deliberate enough to let emotional weight settle, but also relentless enough to maintain tension. There are no filler episodes, no narrative stagnation. Characters have lots of internal conflicts, and ideological perspectives that make them unforgettable. Watching them grow and find their own meaning of what's right and what's wrong is super intriguing. One of the series' greatest strengths lies in its structure. Answers are pretty scarce in the beginning, yet each revelation…

'Attack on titan in not only the greatest shonen anime but also perhaps the greatest anime ever made.' A)Premise-The story is set in a world where the last remnants of humanity live within enormous walled cities to protect themselves from Titans: gigantic, mindless humanoid creatures that devour humans seemingly without reason or sustenance. We follow Eren Yeager, his adoptive sister Mikasa Ackerman, and their friend Armin Arlert. Their lives are shattered when a Colossal Titan, far larger than any seen before, appears and breaches the wall of their district, allowing a horde of Titans to flood in the wall and resulting in very tragedy of the main character B)Why you should watch and its the best 1)Unparalleled Atmosphere and Stakes: From the very first episode, Attack on Titan establish…

This is honestly one of the most emotionally overwhelming anime I’ve ever watched. From the very beginning, it hits you with this heavy, powerful atmosphere that never really lets go. I was probably the most emotional watching this compared to anything else. Every twist, every loss, every reveal felt like a punch straight to the heart. There were moments where I just had to pause because the emotions were too much, yet I still couldn’t stop watching. What makes it so incredible is how perfectly everything fits together: the storytelling, the world‑building, the characters, the music, the tension. It’s dark, intense, and heartbreaking, but also unbelievably captivating. Even when it hurt, I loved every second of it. For me, Attack on Titan is a true masterpiece. The kind of series that stay…

Honestly watching this first season was a real ordeal, I mean the protagonist is awfully rude and stupid. Always shouting on the other like he is better and know more than them. For god sake just close your mouth and think a bit more please, I beg you. Maybe it's part of the anime, transcribe that this character is just a lost kid, if it is then great it works, but why is him the only one so stupid, doing nothing than just shouting ? I don't understand, I just want to hit him in the face, like wake up, stop beying so childish. If I keep watching this anime it's because I know a lot of people appreciate it, but with this first season I really don't understand why it is so hype. Overall this awfull protagonist, for the moment the other character seams good, the first season is pretty slow t…

Attack on Titan, the anime that even non-anime fans enjoy, one of the first anime series I have watched, and... I just finished re-watching the first season. NARRATIVE (STORY & WORLD-BUILDING) (10 / 10) - The story was already brilliant from the start, strengthened by its rich world-building, and its masterful blend of mystery, intensity, and dread. The ideas were already fresh. Humans on the brink of extinction due to monstrous beings known as Titans, living surrounded by walls to avoid the Titans. You have never heard of any anime what that concept, right? - The three story arcs, the Prologue arc (Fall of Shiganshina), the Battle for Trost, and the Female Titan arc, were each highly engaging and very entertaining in their own way. - The Prologue arc had a slow build to a shocking and mo…
