Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! Movie: Take On Me

Introduction

Although already a third-year high school student, Rikka Takanashi remains a chuunibyou—a "disease" that causes people to fantasize about themselves and their surroundings. Her relationship with Yuuta Togashi has also gone unchanged for the past six months, and with entrance exams right around the corner, both of them strive to enroll at the same college. However, Tooka—Rikka's elder sister—decides to take Rikka to Italy as she has found a stable job there. This unforeseen turn of events causes a commotion between the couple as neither of them want to be separated from each other. Desperate for ideas, they seek assistance from their friends, and after a brief conversation, they come up with a plan—to elope. Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! Movie: Take On Me is a sensational drama featuring the couple—Yuuta and Rikka—as they journey across Japan. The two attempt to prevent Rikka from being taken to Italy, but will they be able to succeed in doing so? [Written by MAL Rewrite]

A perfect ending. Throughout the series, the way that love is handled was always the best part. Rikka's chunibiyo was easily the best part of the series, and the idea peaks here. Rikka deals with so many themes in this movie, like maturity, growing up, identity, and most importantly, what Love means. These are key themes that are shown throughout the series, but I think the combination of them here is perfect. It asks "will I still be loved even if I change from who I was?". I see people complain that it ruined Rikka's character or that she doesn't change, but I think they just didn't understand the story. It was never about becoming "normal", it's about finding a balance between your inner-child and the maturity of an adult. Take Yuuta for example, he got over his Chunibyou and is more…

The plot is unclear until the final act, and the characters and themes are not expanded upon from season 1. These shortcomings of the substratum have ensured a mediocre, perhaps slightly subpar product. Rikka is the one that the story revolves around. Whether she should become more normal is the primary plot thread and is explored through her romance with Yuuta. Season 1's conclusion gave us the following answer: she can be quirky without actually deluding herself about what is real and what is not. It's somewhat banal, but within season 1, it was a satisfactory conclusion for a lighthearted show touching on serious themes such as this. This theatrical release recycles the same question. It's presented differently, now in the form 'Will Yuuta still love me if I stop acting like an oddbal…

This movie is genuinely amazing and perfectly finishes a series that otherwise would have kept fans longing. It serves as the mythical flawless ending to a romance anime that many other series could only dream of. By bringing everything great from the first two seasons and only expanding on its aspects (chemistry, humor, character dynamics, etc.) this movie is the premium Chuunibyou experience. I have no joke seen this movie 20 times and I will watch it again soon. It makes me feel utterly alone, which means it's a perfect romance story. If you love Chuunibyou, this is best version of it. My favorite anime movie no doubt.

Pains me to be on the red side here, but I couldn't lend myself to the whole idea. If you suspend your logic and conciousness it may be ok but in reality it isn't. And people in it know the difference. Everything is spinning around one girl. She's supposed to be a grown up, at least by age. She does know what she is doing, she knows there are two sides. She is intentionally staying in the imaginary world. By that, she is putting a huge burden on people around her. It's an exchange of their life for her delusions. She was so close once (1st season was it?). It was supposed to be a defense from a trauma, but it was resolved right ?? It needed work, thought, help. But it all came back to the start, because it's easy to hide. It's not mental illness that can't be repaired. The catchphrase "REA…

As I bid farewell to Rikka, Yuuta, Dekomori, Nibutani, and Kumin, I couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia wash over me. After investing 24 episodes and a movie, it's hard not to become attached to these lovable characters. The movie masterfully wrapped up their stories, leaving me with a sense of closure and satisfaction. That line from Yuuta still echoes in my mind: "Sometimes I think, why did I fall in love with this chuunibyou girl?" And honestly, it's the viewers' hearts that respond. We've been on this journey with them from the start, and it's hard not to feel invested. The movie also reminded me of the importance of expressing your feelings. Shichimiya's unrequited love served as a poignant reminder to let those we care about know how we feel. I'm still holding onto hope f…

The unique concept of love combined with how adorable their interactions are makes this anime have a place in my heart, every conflict that is experienced is resolved in a way that is not convoluted or rushed, a "unique" concept where the way they understand love is different from people in general and this is what makes this anime have its own characteristics, interspersed with funny comedy, and does not seem forced, this is executed very well almost perfect, maybe I'm hyperbolic but that's okay, it's also a personal opinion, "slowly but surely" maybe that can be a description of their love story, many people say that this movie has an awkward ending, but in my opinion it's okay, if you want to make a good continuation, it doesn't matter, anyway the ending of the movie is also good, this…

Chuunibyou Take On Me is the conclusion of the Chuunibyou story. This movie is a masterpiece for anyone who fell in love with the series, as it brings back all the main characters to a funny and compelling setting with a satisfying windup for Yuuta and Rikka's relationship. The story is about Rikka struggling with the decision to change and abandon her chuunibyou self or accept herself, as well as the implications this quandary will have on her relationship with Yuuta. Meanwhile, an absurd sequence of events results in Rikka and Yuuta traveling together to many cities in Japan. The premise is not exceptional, but the most important thing is the feeling it evokes in the viewer, which is remembering why Chuunibyou is a loved series. The comedy is perfect, there's not any awkward or cringewo…

THIS IS A SPOILER-FREE REVIEW I got into the „Chuunibyou“–franchise last summer on my quest to watch every single anime by Kyoto Animation. After a fairly entertaining season one and a mediocre season two, I still had high hopes for this movie ,because this is the definitive end of the franchise. Also, Kyoto Animation has produced some of the best anime movies of all time (“The Disappearance of Suzumya Haruhi, “A Silent Voice” etc.). Is this movie the ending we all wish for? Story – 7/10 Okay first off, I have to say that this is a nice return to form for this struggling franchise. The movie was fast-paced, funny and witty. The road-trip aspect was done nicely and feels refreshing and new compared to the stale humour of the second season. The story shifts between our main characters, Yu…

Part 1 English Part 2 Bahasa Indonesia -------------------------------------- Well, well, well, if it isn't Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! Movie: Take On Me, the anime movie that wants us to believe in love and delusions. Let's dive into this romantic fantasy and see if it's worth your time. First off, the story. It's your typical love story with a twist of delusion. Our main character, Yuuta Togashi, tries to leave his chunibyo (delusional) past behind to pursue a normal life with his girlfriend, Rikka Takanashi. But when Rikka runs away, Yuuta is forced to confront his past and his feelings for Rikka. It's a simple, but effective plot that'll tug at your heartstrings. Now, the art style is gorgeous. The colors are vibrant, the animation is smooth, and the character designs are top-no…

SUMMARY: Perfect end of the saga, if you are fan what are you waiting? This movie is undoubtedly the best that the saga has had since the first season, it has a good rhythm, no filler scenes, beautiful animation that will leave you enchanted, but the best thing about this movie is that it finally makes yuuta and rikka's relationship evolved properly, I started watching the first season at a rather sad moment in my life, now after a lot I can see that the characters have evolved together with me, THEY DID, they made a masterpiece. PD:It is not a masterpiece, is only my opinion. RESUMEN:Perfecto final de la saga, si eres fan que esperas?. Esta película sin duda es lo mejor que tiene la saga desde la primera temporada, tiene buen ritmo, ninguna escena de relleno, animación preciososa que te…

Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions! Take On Me is a roadtrip movie where Rikka and Yuta elope in order to avoid having Rikka taken to Italy by her sister Toka. The couple travel all over Japan engaging in familiar cutesy shenanigans while being pursued by Dekomori and Nibutani. This movie is 90 minutes long, but it feels more like an extended episode of the TV series than a theatrical release. The production value isn't noticeably higher, nor is there a grand epicness factor like with The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya (which is another KyoAni movie sequel to a TV series). But is Take On Me enjoyable despite not having better animation or higher stakes than its two preceding seasons? The answer to that is yes. For people who were frustrated with the constant teasing in season two, your pr…

I kept avoiding this movie at first because i didn't think It'd be that fun for some reason. but after i watched it, I think this is easily one of my favorites. Yeah, the story isn't that deep compared to other shows but that doesn't mean its not good. The shows mostly comedy anyways. Speaking of comedy the movie made me laugh plenty of times like how RiKka gets hit by Yuta, or how Rikka's sister took pictures of Dekomori and Nibutani and blackmailed them. The way Rikka blushes when something romantic happens between the two is just very enjoyable to me (don't ask why i don't know myself) and how yuta gets erotic thoughts was very funny considering how he represents the entire male gender lmao. I do think its sad to see Love, Chunibyo, and other delusions show go and I'd love to see a anot…

My anime tastes have changed a lot over the years, one thing i never thought I would truly come to love as much as I do now is SOL's and romance. This wasn't the first series I tried but it is the first one I completed. Any given genre can be oversaturated with series that do little to innovate. But if one gets its own concept to run with and does so well, it can be something great. Like this, Love chuunibyou and other delusions is a masterpiece not because just its unique, its the characters. Especially Yuuta and Rikka, their chemestry and how we get to watch them fall in love with each other. Of course, watching the beautiful animation both with the fights and in general. Its pretty easy to say that watching this anime had a big impact on my tastes as a whole, and I have since watched co…

My ratings on this will be on the qualities on the film itself, but my long text spam I will write after this is my subjective opinion on the whole series. The whole series is about that how life is in general with chuunibyou (sorry in advance I will probably invent atleast 10 spellings for it in this text) In the first season i think they even get Rikka to let go of it and try to live a life without her powers, whcih seems to make her feel worse. But in my opinion it'd have been only a temporary state of her acclimating to it, and not that it's somethign that couldn't have been let go of. But then the story becomes about them accepting it as something permanent and unchangeing. Now this might just come from my past being that I always had to fight all my troubles on my own and finding w…

I watched Love, Chunibyo, and other Delusions and loved it. I watched Season 2 and thought it was a pretty good follow up all things considered. I just Didn't like how it ended. It just ends. SO! I FIND OUT THERE WAS A MOVIE FINALE IN 2021 AND NO ONE SAID ANYTHING!? THIS CAME OUT IN 2018!!!! WHAT THE WHAT! Anywho, This movie was the ending to the series with KyoAni at it with the solid animation. The lovely and catchy OST and the great voice work both ENG and JAP dubs. No matter how you watch it, it will be a blast. So is Rikka in danger of moving to Italy? Will Yuta stop this? Will Rikka give up on her Chunibyo for the power of Love!? Who knows. Watch it. I had to watch in on HiDive. Not a fan that some shows are there but, eh. What ever. The movie is available on bluray and DVD so you…

I watched this piece in 2020, at the very beginning of the pandemics. And still today, whenever I hear the ending song (Kokoro no namae by ZAQ) I found myself drowning into tears. Not tears of sadness, but of pure joy. Yes, a bearded 27 year old men crying with kawaii stuff. But... This movie shows what we saw on the TV series, but better... We have our unique way of loving somenoe. Our unique way of seeing the world. Our unique ways to show affection and love even though not using these exact words. Our unique way to see friendship and to have fun together. Our unique way to deal with our inner demons, our inner self. Our unique way to deal with our lives. And... and there's nothing wrong with that. Adding ssome fun elements... I really loved this perspective. It's beautiful, it's cut…

To begin with, I came into this series with almost no expectation but the 1st season was great. 2nd season was okayish but still watchable. Now since it was the last part of the series, it would be befitting to watch it. The story wasn't that much developed from the previous series and it was almost on the same lines except for a few major points. All the characters were just like before, with almost no changes in their behavior. The stuff about traveling was something I didn't understand but whatever. The talks between Rikka and Yuuta were great but what completely ruined the story for me was how the end part was played out. Now this may sound like a rant but here it goes- Throughout the series, the main premise was aimed at the coming-of-age of Rikka. It had already been done in Seas…

Definitely different than the first two seasons. The setting is no longer the typical highschool rom-com but now the typical romance movie. The characters seem off in the beginning, most likely due to the 4 year gap in production, but they become more familiar as the movie progresses. It seems like most people were not satisfied by the ending the second season gave us, myself included. Kyoani decided to put together this movie rather than another season to give everyone the conclusion they all wanted. Granted, it's the conclusion I wanted. The story is just not as hashed out as I would have liked. The pacing seems a bit rushed, but it is a movie. Tl;dr felt like a hallmark movie

I feel that this movie is a masterpiece (that might sound like a huge stretch but that's how I feel about this movie). This movie made me realize my love for this series and the characters. I love everything about this movie. The interactions with all the characters and how they came into play with the movie and how the story progressed. The music and songs are also amazing. Watching this movie again made me feel like I just watched the whole series for the first time. This movie will always have a special spot in my heart, and the series in all. I love Love Chunibyo and Other Delusions. This anime has to be my favorite anime ever. Yes I know there's so many anime that are better than this one but this one made me feel something I've never felt before. I know it ended in 2018 but I'm sad t…
