Introduction

As the third semester begins in Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School, it is time for a mixed training camp. Students from all classes and grade levels are participating, making the stakes as high as ever, not to mention the amount of both class and individual points in play. However, that is not all—the students of the groups that fail to meet the required point threshold are in danger of being expelled. Among the first-year students, the once last-ranked Class D has been promoted to Class C thanks to the efforts of Kiyotaka Ayanokouji and his peers. As everyone in the new Class C gears up for their next challenge, Ayanokouji takes the opportunity to observe the people around him and make new acquaintances. With Class A's representative Arisu Sakayanagi preparing her own plans for him, Ayanokouji must continue using any tools at his disposal if he wants to outwit his most formidable enemy yet and lead Class C to even greater heights. Well, by Season 3 I already knew what kind of monster Ayanokoji is, and somehow watching him quietly pull the strings still never gets boring. This season is less about discovering what Ayanokoji can do and more about watching just how MANY different situations he can influence at the same time without standing in the spotlight. That is one of my favorite things about Classroom of the Elite. Ayanokoji does not need everyone to recognize him as the smartest person in the room. In fact, quite the opposite. He is perfectly happy allowing somebody else to receive the credit while he works behind the scenes. Season 3 gives us more class politics, alliances, betrayals and situations where students can actually lose their place at the school. The stakes increasingly feel real because intelligence…

This story is a textbook example of "tell, don't show." Having watched from Season I to Season III, the formula remains completely unchanged. The show pretends to be a heavy, cognitive, and intellectual psychological thriller, but it consistently fails to deliver. Instead, it feels more like a bunch of average-IQ high school kids pretending to be deeply philosophical, all dumped into a corporate-like school environment where they try to tear each other down. If you want to see why it fails as a true intellectual story, notice these core issues: 1. Convenient Plot Ayanokouji's plans often seem ingenious not because of truly brilliant strategies, but because the author deliberately nerfs other characters, making them suddenly stupid or oblivious just so Ayanokouji's plans can succeed. 2. I…

Great premise, but still suffers from the same glaring issues Having watched (and rewatched) every season, it’s frustrating to see the anime fall into the same traps: Unreadable walls of text: Spatially congested rules and texts flash on screen so fast you constantly have to pause just to keep up. A cringey lead: The main character’s attempts at being an emotionless mastermind often cross into cringey "edgelord" territory (his monologue about diluting coffee is a prime example). Half-baked cast: Most side characters lack true development and exist purely as plot devices. The girl with pink hear of the first season prime example. A solid concept ruined by rushed pacing and superficial character writing. It isn't unwatchable, but not an experience I would recommend.

Round 3 of the ultimate anime manipulator. The third season of Classroom of the Elite captivated me from beginning to end precisely because it further delves into what makes the work so interesting: Ayanokoji's mind. Unlike previous seasons, this one offers more moments exploring his personality, his cold way of seeing people, and especially the calculating way he manipulates everything around him without almost anyone noticing. As a fan of the character, it was extremely satisfying to witness this on screen. The narrative continues to follow the intense competition between the classes of the advanced school, where each exam, psychological test, and internal conflict can completely alter the students' ranking. The goal remains to reach Class A, but with each episode it becomes clearer th…

If I have anything to hand to this show is that it is very consistently okay. The plot still barely advances, they just spend time doing minigames instead of, school things y'know. Ayanokoji's deal keeps just being alluded to, but the author just does not want to progress this in any way, instead making us watch their little needlessly convoluted games. The show feels like it must keep oneupping itself in the complexity of the special tests, but really if you look closely the details do not really matter at all, the rules are formulated the exact way needed for the specific twist needed, things kind of just happen and there's not really much incentive to try and follow or predict the outcome. The show does explain things so it's not like you're lost, the way things play out are just not c…

While this season more or less follows the same formula from other seasons, his season comes with good improvements from previous seasons that built upon parts that had left me unfulfilled. The biggest aspect of this season was the character development of all characters, especially Ayanokoji, who gave the impression of an emotionless droid with no actual background or motive, his background was actually explored and fleshed out giving him some much needed life and context to his character overall. His coldness and lack of human emotion is cleverly used as to why his character is so compelling. He starts off as a character who is perfect, never makes mistakes, and is good at everything. But we learn that there is a new layer to him, which his inability to connect and understand with othe…

The third season of Classroom of the Elite delivers the promised contest between Ayanokouji and Sakayanagi, but dedicates shockingly little time to the postponed encounter. Exploring his intellectually smart but emotionally incompetent nature was interesting, but for being heavily foreshadowed, the events only lasted a single episode, barring some minor conflict beforehand. Furthermore, this former class drama with Hirata and Yamauchi was uninterestingly prolonged. Though the Horikita brother and sister scenes were implemented decently. And somehow, it seems like the production values were slightly worse. Scenes were cut, animation was still, and exam details were barely explored. Nonetheless, this is roughly more of the same.

Promises, promises. The inner monologue and flashbacks promise so much edge but they don't deliver. It comes off as teen angst honestly which is rather disappointing. The show is on firmer grounds this season and the side characters are given more of a chance to show off. It does ring hollow though because in the end MC's crystal ball is still in effect. Also it does dip into stupid sometimes and some of of the sides break character when the plot needs it. Also, again, the idea that individual achievement is a given but failure is to be highlighted and marked against the whole group is very outdated and negative. I genuinely question the value of this special school when the only ones to have a guaranteed future are the Class A students. It means that any other class might as well ha…

tl;dr: A sequel season that focuses less on battles of wits and more on long term plot and character development, for better or worse. The third season of Classroom of the Elite follows follows Ayanokouji through to the end of his first year at Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School. In the same way that Ryuen was the focus of the second season, this season is focused on Sakayanagi, the leader of Class A. However, she’s very different from Ryuen in that she’s someone that has history with Ayanokouji and is fully aware of what he is capable of, and wants to challenge him head on without any pretenses. That only occurs near the end of the season though, so the majority of this season is her simply messing around with Ayanokouji’s class without trying all that hard. This season c…

Classroom of the Elite review. Plot: (=) Although off to a slow and confusing start, after season 2 started it picked up pace and we saw the rise and developments of not only Ayanokōji the MC but many “villains” and other geniuses in the school. The plot was really interesting to watch, consisting of many different classes battling in such genius ways and many different special tests. This plot was really unique and certainly very interesting. Surprisingly brilliant storyline for a school based anime. However, some may still find the plot confusing and it is arguable that the plot had no overall progression but just the classes fighting. Characters: (+) This one is obvious. Not only do we have the coldest main character Ayanokoji, but many really intriguing characters. They all developed…

Classroom of the elite is an absolutely disappointing dog pile that trample everything it trying to build up.This show is the definition of stupidity diguse as intelligent. It has a very interesting storyline about a school set up as an environment for students to compete each other, which it made to promise about a psychological thriller with high stake battle between people with people but this is where the problem start. The show supposed to show the intelligence of the students but all the strategy it use are really simple and one dimensional with no back up or consequence that make the intelligence not very convincing and also make the show has no stakes because we know the main character will never lose. And a lot of things the students do just explain as "they predict it" and no more…

The third season of Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e left me feeling pretty underwhelmed, despite the hope I had that things would improve. Honestly, the anime has been quite average so far. It's incredibly frustrating to watch something where, for three episodes, you get generic build-up, and then in the fourth episode, they reveal, "it was all part of the plan" followed by a long explanation of said plan. This formula has never really been great, and now it's becoming overused and predictable. That said, this season was still better than the previous ones. It gave more focus to other characters and explored their more human sides, which was a refreshing change from the over-focus on Ayanokoji's apathetic personality. Plus, the ending left a good hint for what’s to come, s…

I've been following this series since the beginning, and I've gotta say, it just keeps getting better and better. The characters, the plot twists, the themes... everything is just so masterfully crafted. I've never been so invested in an anime before. Ayanokouji, Horikita, and the rest of the gang are back, and they're just as complex and lovable as ever. I swear, Ayanokouji's deadpan reactions are my spirit animal. And Horikita's growth? Unbelievable. She's like a whole new person. But what really gets me is the way the show tackles social commentary. I mean, it's not just about the education system anymore - it's about classism, privilege, trauma... it's like the show is speaking directly to my soul. And that ending?! I'm still trying to process everything that happened. I won't give…

A great main protagonist can sometimes maje the show better and this is a good example, this show works because the MC the rest of the cast it's boring and i can say this because i watched the 3 seasons, the problem with the show its thats nothing interesting happens, its kinda meh to be honest, but that's fine I guess, the storyline in season 3 its kinda forgettable and not very good definitely the worst season of the bunch, i hope season 4 its better because im kinda wanting to drop this if the show don't improve ok, lets hope that's the case because season 3 bored me a lot and i don't appreciate that.

Hello as a show I absolutely recommend this. However keep it that way, only be a watcher and don't be a reader. I had the pleasure of reading the LN this past month before watching the show and I honestly ruined the show for myself. The LN is leaps and bounds better where a good amount of things that wasn't animated was animated. It just didn't feel like the show had the feelings that some of the characters should have had, the master plan of each interaction that Ayanokoji had, or just the other views that people had. The new villain also was pretty rushed, in the LN he was introduced slowly and made more appearances. Im getting offtrack and just ranting about the LN now. Show is still good, however if you want a super in depth thought process of Ayanokoji. Highly recommend the light no…

This particular season of "Classroom of the Elite" is a big ball of mess, there was definitely development, but that development is very much hindered by the abysmal pacing that have been a reoccurring theme of this show. It has been like this since the first season, but this season made it even worse as it just lacks the emotional attachment for the watchers to the characters, they are not flashed out enough to the point of caring for them, even if there is 3 seasons of this, it feels like watching season 1 all over again. So the story and pacing of the story is still bad. But what COTE is good at is making openings, the only thing that keeps me of watching the anime is literally ZAQ making the opening for each season as it's really good. Each opening does a good job in making the show m…

It's even difficult to review this season, since I've considered it a bad anime since the first season, but I keep watching because... I confess that I don't even know anymore. This season had some glimpses of quality but they were quickly replaced by the same crude, clichéd and predictable scenes as always. The staff definitely does not know how to work on this anime, as it is impossible for such an acclaimed and renowned novel to have content that is so empty, predictable and often offensive to those who watch it. In addition to the weak direction, the anime's animation is getting worse and worse, with several completely static scenes and rough transitions. Speaking of the narrative, the story advanced a few places until its resolution but it's as if nothing changed, everything continu…

This is the ultimate "Making fun of while watching with friends" anime. Me and my friend had a good time doing just that with the third season of Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e. Admittedly while watching the previous seasons I hadn't gotten over how downright abysmal this show is so now that I'm over that, I managed to enjoy this one purely because of how dumb it is. It even fails to be funny when it makes an attempt at being funny. I understand that this is not a comedy anime but a few joke attempts were made and I could not believe that not even once it was able to be intentionally funny. I'm not about to go deep into why it's trash but in short it thinks it's smart and well thought-out but in reality it's just not. Not really anything changed since the first season exce…

Once again, we're plunged back into the intriguing world of our favorite psychopath in an unconventional high school setting. This season, like its predecessors, centers around Ayanokouji's tactical genius as he orchestrates victories from the shadows, manipulating events without ever taking center stage. In terms of production, there have been no changes, which is a relief. However, a bit more action would have been welcome to spice things up. Overall, this season serves as a solid continuation of the narrative. We delve deeper not only into Ayanokouji's complex character but also into those around him. While the storyline advances significantly, there are moments when it feels somewhat laborious. It's not that the intricate details provided this season aren't appreciated, but the predi…

The 3rd season of Classroom of the Elite was nothing short of amazing, and has maintained its standards after its first and second season. It has met the expectations I had set for this season, in terms of the drama, plots, twists, and of course, the main character, Kiyotaka Ayanakoji (and his persuit to learn more about human behavoiur and his intricit plans to climb up to class A and stay in the High School). More and more students are beginning to uncover Ayanakoji's true abilities, so it will be exciting to see how he goes about getting his class to class A in the upcoming seasons. If you're looking for an anime full of drama and plot twists, intellectual young students battling it out to come out on top, as well as a captivating story line and a quite intriguing main character, I will…
