This anime really feels like it's trying to be like Solo Leveling. I feel like this observation might be a little unfair, as they're both from the same genre in OPMC anime, but everything about it seems to try to recreate the feelings one felt while watching Solo Leveling, and it really just misses. It's not a bad anime per se, but it's just stale, lacks any emotional grip or attachment to the characters or story or the developments. Sure, the MC is more of an anti-hero creating a more unique and interesting MC to follow, especially with him being OP, but regardless of that, he lacks any charismatic pull to make you want to follow him in accomplishing his goals while freeing himself of what he experienced in the past. I feel like this was the type of unique look in an OPMC anime I was loo…

I'm writing a review cause I definitely cannot understand how someone humanly decent would rate this above 3. To contextualise I'm an old grump, mostly interested in fantasy anime, as I'm a ttrpg player. I like narration, I like worlbuilding, I like psychology (I have a degree) and character building. Tomb raider king has an absolute awfull and unintersting protagonist. Same facial expression every snapshot. Absolutely no growth. Just going to the bank and cashing privilege everytime. And this is the worst you can do to interest kids or even adult. The worldbuilding is absent, there is only glue to fit the action of the protagonist. Narration wise, we learn that apparently being a bully sucking for privilege is a thing in korea. Yeah sorry can't have empathy with an anime that demo…

This anime is weird. It has the story and animation quality to easily earn an 8/10, yet the way it presents itself brings my rating down to just under 7.5/10. Still, I don't understand its low MAL rating. The art and animation are both quite good, the action scenes are exciting, and the story is unique, even if it draws inspiration from a mix of other anime and manga. The MC and supporting could be more complex, but despite that the MC is quite fun to watch thanks to his personality and behavior. Two things hold it back for me: 1. Sound design: The audio quality is weird and inconsistent. Both the Japanese and original dubs occasionally sound as if they were recorded in an amateur studio. The music doesn't always fit the scenes and sometimes cuts off abruptly. It's not a major issue for…

People shit on this anime saying, this is a solo leveling knock-off. And while i'll admit the first episode and the mc looks the same with solo leveling, i didn't find anything else resembling that. Yes He has a system, What about it? It's nothing like Solo leveling's system. Yeah FL resembles Cha Hae-in a little maybe, personally i don't see any similarity except for blonde hair. They are totally different from each other. So No, i don't think this is a cheap Solo leveling knock-off. Animation seems like ai at first but i stopped noticing it after ep 3 and had fun watching it and would recommend people to watch it as well. Personalities of the Relics and their hidden motives seemed interesting to me and will continue reading the manhwa as well. Crow seems like an interesting character a…

Tomb Raider King feels like an early example of a problem with manhwa adaptations. Solo Leveling's success seems to have made familiar Korean power fantasies look like safer commercial bets, and this is the sort of material that benefits from that interest. That is frustrating when a story has so little identity of its own. A familiar formula might make something easier to sell, but it does not automatically make it interesting to watch. There are worthwhile ideas here, yet too much of the anime settles for making its protagonist look impressive. The title does not do it any favors either. Tomb Raider King sounds like a shitty slot machine in Las Vegas. The actual premise has more going for it, with tombs containing supernatural relics and a protagonist who returns to the past with knowle…

"Poor's Man Solo Leveling " Although the whole plot and timeline is completely different from solo leveling still people compares it just because of art resemblance of characters specially mc . The Ln is written before SL Ln too . Now, the main problems arises in execution of plot and detailing . It's done so, poorly that it looks like a mesh up of different ideas or a rushed story . Initial concept was very good but it's lost the way while finding a direction and setting up a fanbase . The only thing which makes this watchable is personality and critical thinking of mc , he isn't dumb nor afraid to take actions in order to take revenge or protecting his close ones . Overall , it's a 1 time watch kind of anime some people might like this and some not .

This has a lot in common with Solo Levelling but it is free from the hype. I'm not someone who likes Solo Levelling as I think it looks good, sounds good but is pretty average and it only gets hype for its edgy nature. It reminds me of Tokyo Ghoul and how everyone lost their minds over that, until several years later they got older and got embarrassed. This is what makes Dogulwang so interesting, it has many of the same beats as Solo Levelling, MC dies in a tomb / dungeon, a Godlike entity revives him, and of cause there is the desire for power, to get stronger than they were and stand at the top. Of cause Dogulwang deviates from things, we have the MC going back into his past, and there is a use of artifacts from tombs which he seeks to collect, instead of tasks that must be overcome. Bu…

"Is Tomb Raider King actually THAT bad?" This is the question that has plagued me over and over this past season, since Tomb Raider King, one of my most anticipated shows of Summer 2026, opened to low scores almost immediately. And those same low scores continued to steadily decrease throughout the airing of this show, eventually settling on the average that you see now. And now that I have finally taken the time to sit down and watch the whole thing in its entirety, I have to say... No. No, it is not nearly that bad. In fact, I actually quite liked it! It was pleasantly surprising in more ways than one, and ended up being one of my more fun watches recently. The Solo Leveling Misconception: Before I dive into the usual parts of a show that I typically talk about in a review, I feel like…

So far, it feels like your average anime—I haven’t read the manhwa. It all felt like it happened too fast and wrapped up too quickly, and there’s a lack of epic battles. I also couldn’t make sense of the character’s reactions in the first episode. I didn’t understand the main character’s motivation either. These are things that could be fixed, but they’d need to invest more money, and I’d be happy if a Japanese dub were released—to be honest, watching anime in any language other than Japanese just doesn’t feel right. If it’s going to continue, they should invest more in the anime and craft a slightly more polished story. They also need a marketing budget—I hadn’t even heard of this anime until I came across it while browsing MAL. It’s like a mindless action movie—which, of course, isn’t…
