Dr. Stone

Dr. Stone

Introduction

After five years of harboring unspoken feelings, high-schooler Taiju Ooki is finally ready to confess his love to Yuzuriha Ogawa. Just when Taiju begins his confession however, a blinding green light strikes the Earth and petrifies mankind around the world—turning every single human into stone. Several millennia later, Taiju awakens to find the modern world completely nonexistent, as nature has flourished in the years humanity stood still. Among a stone world of statues, Taiju encounters one other living human: his science-loving friend Senkuu, who has been active for a few months. Taiju learns that Senkuu has developed a grand scheme—to launch the complete revival of civilization with science. Taiju's brawn and Senkuu's brains combine to forge a formidable partnership, and they soon uncover a method to revive those petrified. However, Senkuu's master plan is threatened when his ideologies are challenged by those who awaken. All the while, the reason for mankind's petrification remains unknown. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

I started watching this because it seemed silly. It's the kind of show where the protagonist says his catchphrase(s) mutliple times and episode, and now I say "Get excited" too. I liked this first season/installment the most out of the whole show for sure. Critiques - The longer it went on, the more I felt like I was watching a kids show with one dimensional characters (at least once an episode the characters announce their party role and how it applies to the problem they will solve). - Gen uses pig-latin and over time it got super annoying (I watched the dub, so this may be less annoying in sub/a different language). What I enjoyed - Yelling at my screen every time something absurd happened. - Continuously hearing the phrase "The Strongest Primate Highschooler". - The survival science…

Dr. STONE strips away traditional shonen battle tropes to present a narrative where survival relies entirely on scientific logic rather than magical power-ups. Rebuilding civilization from the Stone Age creates an additive pacing style structured similarly to a video game technology tree, making every minor chemical discovery feel like a hard-won victory. Boichi’s highly expressive artistic style balances technical educational charts with comedic exaggeration, preventing the intense pacing from feeling dry or overly clinical. While character growth takes a back seat to technological progression, the infectious optimism celebrating human ingenuity provides a uniquely engaging alternative to typical post-apocalyptic media. I loved this series and fully recommend you guys if you love science…

Something different, and I commend the story writer and the producers for taking that risky leap to try and teach science while putting it into an anime storyline. I truly think if Dr. Stone had a bigger budget for even higher animation quality and bigger all out scenes, I think it would draw a lot more attention. I could see how people could easily get turned off maybe in the first 7-10 episodes, but once more characters start getting introduced I think it starts ramping up and you become interested in bringing the world back up with Senku. I can't tell you what kept me watching it because even I won't lie that I felt the boring anime drag at one point, but I think It's worth the pay off. I'm a huge openings guy and although the first opening is a little bit of a meme, I love the next…

It's good, but it's not that compelling. If you've ever played any civilization games where you use resources to build a city, you might sorta like this anime? Dr. Stone sets up a very interesting premise in the first few episodes. Senku is a high school student with the mind of a genius. One moment he's doing experiments in science class; the next, the earth gets subjected to this mysterious power that turns everyone into stone. Two million years later, Senku breaks free from his cryogenic stasis. Now, it's up to him to rebuild civilization using his extensive knowledge of science. That hook was definitely a clincher. And don't get me wrong, the first few episodes with Taiju and Yuzuhira were very engaging. I liked the comical dynamic between him and Senku. As the episodes go on, Taiju an…

This came up in a conversation at work. I was told I carry myself similar to one of the cast and there was a high chance I would enjoy the show. I have to say they were right about me enjoying the show. Although it's just the first season I enjoy the cast of characters as a whole. Each one has their place and the piece they fill in the entire puzzle of pushing civilization along. Even if not everyone wants to walk the same path to get there. I mainly like the cast initially because while there are quite a few of them by then end of season 1, they also have unique enough personality starters to stand out just enough. It doesn't feel like there are any "clone" characters. Senkuu and Chrome are a good example of this. They are both intelligent but it's obvious to the watcher that they have e…

on the poster the show lowkey seemed boring but i was very pleasantly surprised and now i am binge watching half the season a day. the story is very unique and i really enjoy learning the science abt how everyday items work. shows that science really deserves more credit. characters were fye. i don really have a favorite tho. i def enjoyed and i will be finishing the rest. the art style is also really nice. idk if its true if the creator was/is a hentai artist but it lowkey shows sometimes. i am just bullshitting so it can let me post my review but i like the show.

Dr. Stone is an anime with great potential, but it doesn't fully realize it. The narrative is bogged down by numerous superfluous subplots that seem forced onto the main storyline. The idea of using science to rebuild a civilization is excellent, especially when it incorporates the necessary elements, and this is the anime's strength. However, all the extraneous details add endless minutes, which lowers my rating to 6.

Man, Dr. Stone is just super fun. The first time I watched it, I remember thinking, “Wait, am I actually learning science right now?” and somehow, I didn’t even f*cking mind. It’s one of those shows that makes your brain light up while your heart’s racing. The characters are just so good, everyone’s got their own thing going on, but together they somehow make this stone world feel alive again. And Senku? That guy’s a Einstein reincarnation, but what I love most is how he never gives up on people and there’s something so cool about seeing humanity rebuild from scratch, one step at a time. It’s clever, it’s exciting, and it makes you believe that even when everything’s gone, people will still find a way to create something amazing.

I finished watching this today, and couldn't wait to write my thoughts. Dr. Stone was one of those series that never caught my attention. That was until a few days ago, and I couln't be happier about my decision to give it a try. In a world where almost everyone has been turned to stone, the main MC's goal is to develop civilization using his scientific knowledge. It's an impossible premise, one that requires a good dose of fantasy masked as logic. But it works - and it works really well! There is an explanation for every step the characters take towards building different appliances. The show does a good work making the viewers believe that everything is possible. Plus you are always rooting for the characters to achieve their goals, no matter how surprising or ridiculous they might be.…

great season. I would have liked it more if the action animation was more fluid. While the hand drawn animation was mediocre I am grateful the it wasn't plagued with ugly CGI. Where the show shines is the science aspect of the show. The story is good but I think for all those who paid attention in your chemistry class you are going to love him talking about talking about science and chemical reaction. There are no ingredients that he can buy from a shop for his experiments. He has to make everything from scratch in this post apocalyptic world. That means from soil, plants and rocks. The show has a good antagonist, someone who wants to destroy science because science will be used to create weapons. I recommend it to all science enthusiasts. Looking forward to the next season. Looks promisi…

Dr. Stone Season 1 is my personal favorite among new-generation shonen. The story is clever and unique, focusing on science and survival in a way that feels fresh. The art style and animation perfectly match the inventive, adventurous tone, making every scientific experiment and action scene visually exciting. The characters are well-rounded, with strengths, flaws, and smart, believable reactions to the challenges they face. The chemistry between them is fantastic, and the energetic openings match the series’ fun and adventurous vibe. I think anyone who enjoys shonen, science, or adventure will love this series, even if they don’t usually watch anime. It’s creative, exciting, and hard to stop watching.

stories about building a country or civilization with a clever and cunning MC, I really like stories like that. this anime feels like an isekai anime even though it's a science anime. to be honest I don't like science, because it made me dizzy when I was in school, but the delivery of science in this anime makes me interested, because science is really explained directly about its usefulness in everyday life. even though it's a science anime, but I really like the comedy, haha,... Senkuu, Gen, and Chrome really bring the comedy to life, especially their evil laughing expressions. or chrome with his innocent expression when tasting delicious food or meeting modern science tools. honestly I really like this comedy anime. the story of building civilization never disappoints, starting from m…

Dr. Stone is loud, ridiculous at times, and packed with science facts most people probably forgot after school. Yet, beneath the humor and over-the-top energy lies something surprisingly sincere. The narrative begins with one of the most striking premises in modern anime. In a single mysterious moment, a blinding green light turns all of humanity into stone. Civilization collapses instantly. Cities decay, technology disappears, and nature slowly reclaims the planet over thousands of years. When a genius teenager named Senku Ishigami finally breaks free from petrification, the world has already reset to something resembling the Stone Age. Instead of mourning the lost world, Senku sees the situation as the greatest scientific challenge imaginable. The goal is simple but absurdly ambitious, w…

Dr. Stone is an anime about bringing back technology to an earth that's been turned back to it's beginnings. The smart MC Senku brings his knowledge of science from the modern era and creates all sorts of things using the great power of science. This anime is filled with many great character dynamics and comedy, and also real science facts that you can learn a thing or two from. Season 1 has already made me love science and to realize it's value that we of the modern era take for granted. If you want a good story, great character dynamics, and an overall fun and engaging watch, Dr. Stone is the anime for you. If you love science/technology and want a little inspiration, I couldn't recommend this anime more than enough.

Imagine waking up one day and finding that 3,700 years have passed, and every human on Earth has been turned to stone. That’s what happens to Senku Ishigami, a teen science prodigy who cracks out of his stone shell with a single mission: “Rebuild civilization using the power of science.” Dr. Stone takes us through the foundations of this post-apocalyptic world, where Senku uses sheer brainpower (and a lot of trial and error) to bring humanity back, one invention at a time. The Science is Real (Mostly): What really sets Dr. Stone apart is its hard science fiction angle — Senku's inventions are based on actual scientific principles. Whether it’s making soap, creating a battery, or forging glass, every "quest" feels like a mini MythBusters episode wrapped in anime hype. There's even a narrat…

All Hail The Kingdom Of Science!! It's one of those amazing anime that takes a concept and just goes with it. What if Apocalypse happened, but we have the smartest scientist guy on earth and we are gonna recreate the world with science. it is actually really entertaining and educational. It's such an amazing cast with such very characters and cool beautiful designs, and every body shape Imagine is used. it's very good at using all of the characters skills and uniqueness to make every adventure and storyline interesting. PLEASE DON'T PAY ANY MIND TO THE REVIEWS WHO STOPPED AT EPISODE 6. Can't believe I have to say this. People watch the first episodes and think "oH wElL thE sHoW is AbOut SenKu anD TaIjU vs ShIsHio!!1" but it's so, SO much more. Yes Senku is quite literally a nicer Sheldon, yes Taiju is a bit obnoxious (little spoiler, you won't see him for a while), and no Yuzuriha is not "just a useless woman", she'll be VERY useful later on. I have to say, without any spoilers, that the plot doesn't stop there. Else why would there be four seasons of this? Aside the idiotic, misleading, short-sighted, impulsive reviews I HAD to address, let's move on. This series takes the science behind everything very seriously, but it's still an over-the-top anime with flashy fights and not a boring seinen with s…

- German translation below - Story 15% 7/10 The basic idea of the story is definitely exciting. There are a few little things here and there that seem unrealistic, but everything seems well thought out, both in terms of the idea and what happens in the story. The antagonists don't seem unnecessarily squeezed in between but develop in a credible way. What is noticeable, however, is that the story is rather repetitive and predictable. Pacing / narrative flow 10% 8/10 The anime has a good pacing, taking its time to let the scientific inventions progress at a credible pace. The anime never seems unnecessarily drawn out and in my opinion remains interesting and exciting to watch throughout. Animation 15% 6/10 The animation is kept very simple, there are unfortunately no real “WoW” moments…

It's quite rare to find something you have basically zero complaints about. Something that excels at basically everything. Dr. Stone is one of those rare gems! This is an anime that delivers on so many fronts, remains consistently engaging all throughout and delivers astonishing quality. It also succeeds in the daunting task of making bucketloads of real world science fun and interesting without becoming drab and boring. I think this should be on the watchlist of anyone, because there's so much to love about it, I'm ten billion percent certain anyone, regardless of their taste, can find something to latch onto here. On a purely technical level, the anime is done exceptionally. The visuals are vibrant, expressive and gorgeous to look at. The animation is smooth, dynamic and full of energy.…

(HOOD REVIEW) I’m not even going to cap this anime was way better than I thought it would be. I really enjoyed it, if you ever seen death note just picture Light as the main character, but he uses science. And if you haven’t seen the death note, what I’m basically saying is the main character intelligence is on a whole different level and he uses science to defeat people, now that might sound boring, but I’m telling you to give it a try it will really shock you, Think about if you was going to war against a bunch of caveman that was using sticks and stones as swords and you had the IQ to gather minerals and rare metals to build a Glock how do you think a caveman will act when you shoot at them? .. exactly watch this show
