Introduction

After his confrontation in the Nether with his younger brother Shou, Shinra Kusakabe's resolve to become a hero that saves lives from the flame terror strengthens. Finding a way to turn the Infernals back into people, unraveling the mystery of the Evangelist and Adolla Burst, and saving his mother and Shou—these are the goals Shinra has in mind. However, he has come to realize that attaining these goals will not be easy, especially with the imminent danger the Evangelist poses. The Evangelist's plan is clear: to gather the eight pillars—the individuals who possess Adolla Burst—and sacrifice them to recreate the Great Cataclysm from 250 years ago. Having been revealed by the First Pillar that the birth of a new pillar is approaching, Shinra is determined to protect his fellow pillars from the Evangelist. Thus, the fiery battle between the Special Fire Force and the Evangelist ignites. Together with the Special Fire Force, Shinra's fight continues as he uncovers the truth about the Great Cataclysm and the nature of Adolla Bursts, as well as the mysteries behind human combustion. I loved the part where the muslims wearing hijab (the evangelist) fought the Christians with sisters and its followers cause their believes and god didn't match. Loved how they took inspiration from real life racism and problems. The only criticism i have that they should have diversified adding more religions in the holy religion war but i digress. But jokes apart i still think fire force is one of the best in genre if not the best. And i can kiss the guy who made those sfx and sound effects i dont think i have ever felt anything like what i felt hearing shinra adola burst link and benimaru red moon attack and so many more taste is subjective but even objectively i believe fire force is not anything but a wonder.

The grand sequel to Fire Force... which, for me, wasn't quite so grand. When I finished the first season of Fire Force, I was quite curious to see how the story would evolve. The series has a very distinct identity and carries all the eccentricity typical of Atsushi Ohkubo, the creator of Soul Eater. Its universe is creative, the power system is interesting, and the mystery surrounding Spontaneous Human Combustion manages to hold one's attention. That’s why I started this second season expecting significant evolution. In some respects, it certainly delivers on that, but in others, it ended up reinforcing issues that had bothered me from the start. Starting with the positives, it’s impossible not to praise the production's technical quality. The animation remains simply excellent. The stu…

Felt kinda like if nothing ever happened in the most flashy way possible. I think maybe 2 eps worth of content were relevanf to the plot, & if we discount opening monologue, OP, & ED, that’s maybe 35 minutes? Similar to the words that you’re reading right now, including the ones that you’ve just read, but only two words after this one, I think, the first 7ish episodes can be skipped entirely. I’m not kidding, I wish I skipped them, & you’ll get caught up several times on what went down when the characters talk to each other about it. Loved swiping past the story of the empire before every ep too. Liked the Beni eps & eps ~ 7-12. overall, mid

The second season of Fire Force was significantly better than the first season. It felt faster and better paced as well as building on characters that needed some spotlight. The imagery in Fire Force continues to be more creative and over the top creating extremely cool scenes and fights thanks to the incredible directing choices. This season has some of the most interesting directional choices to showing off being on drugs, PTSD, and pushing limitations which makes this entry all the more better. Tamaki (the walking fanservice character) continues to make the scenes with her in it very worse, ruining full on emotional and hype scenes due to her presence. What was a 9 fell to an 8.

A crap load of forced humor in this season by far. They give more attention to Arthur's delusion as a Knight of the round to the point where it loses it humor. There is even an episode where they focus on Namaki and her inability to provocatively undress, just random and a waste of time. Her character development throughout both series is abysmal. Juggernauts voice is ear bleeding and his character persona is boring. Its almost as if they were making a parody of country farm Americans. There is more revelation to the overall story which is great but it's still makes you feel like, "so what" and "well, what are you going to do about it". There is a sense of complexity on the Fire Force, The Evangelist, Sol Church, and Hajima Industries and how they all tie in together but it's still doesn…

Fire Force S2 continues its firebending adventures with a smidgen more quality, along with improvements to story and characters. It may not quite reach the highs of some other shounen, but it's definitely solidified itself as a strong title. Animation / Art / General Visuals - 8/10 ----------------------------------------------- There is variance from episode to episode, but when it's good, it's really good. Great visuals along with some really impressive fight coordination makes for some amazing spectacles in key episodes. Sound / Music / Voice Acting - 8/10 ------------------------------------------ Very solid. OP and ED are great, though there isn't much stand out music during the show itself. Still, good marks across the board. Story - 9/10 ------------- The story has really t…

SPOILER ALERT] The second season of fire force shows us how much a story can evolve from one hour to the next, both in terms of character narrative and in the plot that in overall improved everything that was good in the first season PLOT: This season we see the 8th encountering more challenges in relation to the evangelist. It is shown that the evangelist is after 8 people who have Adolla Burst (Pillars Calls), to complete their plans, which in overall is cliché 'want to dominate / destroy the world', but this cliché story shown to us by the author is passed in a good way that shows us how she seeks to get these pillars, showing that she not only wants to bring the pillars to her side but seeks to protect them too, so much so that in a part of the story we are shown an ally of the evan…

Fire force season two was just as visually stunning, impactful, and creative as the first. David Productions did an amazing job creating and maintaining the anime's unique style, and further built upon its elements in this season. However this season fell flat for arguably its plot alone. The plot of the first season was defined and solved (for the most part) by the end of the season. The flow was smooth, the suspense built up over the entirety of the anime, giving the final fight the importance and gravity it needed. Yet for this season, the plot was extremely segmented, with the ending establishing the presumed plot for the next season, yet leaving their own unresolved. Each arc was far too short, and the rate at which they changed did not allow for any real connections to be made with t…

DISKOWN

Enen no Shouboutai: Ni no Shou presents a decent continuation of the first season, although it falls short of reaching the same level of polish. The returning characters continue to be developed, delving deeper into their backstories and motivations. There are several new characters introduced that are interesting, but they are not fully explored. The animation and art style closely resemble those of the first season, albeit lacking the same level of refinement. Pacing issues arise, and the writing fails to maintain the same level of tightness as before. Particularly, the beginning of the season is slow-paced and inconsequential. While there are some unexpected surprises in Enen no Shouboutai: Ni no Shou, it ultimately delivers a similar experience to its predecessor.

Although Shinra is super fast, the anime has a pacing that lacks enthusiasm for their watchers Enen no Shouboutai is a modern classic in my view, because it wasn't afraid to explore new ways of narrative, and joint universes. But the anime seems to not having this in mind and focusing in great animations. This is major a problem because, if even the story uses action and fights as medium to the progress, the truly narrative progress are made by dialogues and plot twists that they offered using the characters (like Shou being alive in first season and stuff like that). So this second season we're supposed to see some narrative progress, but actually, they delivered only action progression. This isn't bad, but isn't good knowing what will happen in the future (last scene gives a hint). It…

Fire Force 2 With the second season, Fire Force surprised me even more, not only positively but also negatively. All the strengths that this series had in season 1 were again made clear there. The progression of the plot is decent, as well as how information is conveyed to the viewer has good pacing. The characters are still blunt, but likable. And the humor is some of the best to be found in a shounen. I can only repeat myself several times, but Fire Force would have made a better comedy than a shounen. And since I'm already on that point, this anime/manga has uncontrollable comedy qualities. And this goes as far as even using some character deaths (of supporting characters) as joke templates. As a viewer, how can you take a scene where so many soldiers are slaughtered seriously when…

Quick Review, minor/no spoilers. Story 6/10: Following up from the first season, the group finally decide to follow up on their mystery and challenge the white clad ones.. except literally throughout the entire season the Shinra and the others are just..weak. I wouldn't mind it, if it was concluded nicely but nope, for SOME reason, they end on a training arc purely on the last episode. I understand they're building up to the next season but the show had serious pacing issues, worse than the first season and the fan service was WAY TOO MUCH. When the show has more fan fiction than action to drag out the episoders, you know something is wrong. That said, you do learn more about the Adolla links but honestly.. this season was kinda predictable. The reaosn I give this a lower score than the f…

THIS IS A SPOILER-FREE REVIEW After the rather lackluster first season i stood at a crossroad. Either i stop watching the series at all and leave it at that, or i continue with season two to see if the show improves. I did the latter and i have to say that it was a fantastic decision. Season 1 turned out to be just a stepping stone to what this series can develop towards. This was a major improvement in every single way. STORY - 7/10 This season started with one of the best arcs so far. The fights have improved wildly consisting of not just flashy animation and willpower like season one. There are tactics, strategies and decisions being made. Fights change over the course of time and the show is not afraid to let one of our heroes lose. Generally it can be said that the stakes feel much…

Comparing it to S1, not much changed. The mayor thing that happened is the story continued!!!!!! But that's obvious I guess. I wish we got more training ''arcs'', cause I feel like the full potential of fire abilities isn't exactly explored yet, but I guess that's left for S3 .... I hope. Joker finally returned, which was kinda hype, I hope he has somewhat of a bigger role in S3, even though in this season he played a pretty big role in revealing some important plot. A few new characters got introduced, most of them quite interesting, but they didn't really get overly showcased, I'm hoping they are used more in S3, working together or against the main crew. But the most hype thing was the last episode, which is kinda sad in a sense, but it was pure setup for S3, it was seriously hype…

I feel like there is a good portion of intrigue here, with how deep the rabbithole goes for the story, but the main problem is its presentation. Characters will just describe the entire tension point of the story before it even happens and I'm supposed to act like i didn't see it coming. And the way they present it too is substantially more annoying. explaining every segment of the story and what's happening as if I'm not even watching the show and I'm having them give me a full plot synopsis every time. the handholding completely ruins the fun of trying to understand what you are watching, making your own sense of the story and the characters. rather than having them explain every single thing every single time. most of the characters are pretty bad too. all of them are a single cliché a…

Story - 7 I believe this show has some problems with balance, but overall, it's a really good shounen. The world feels doesn't really feel fleshed out in my opinion. It's very intriguing, but they don't follow up. Art - 9 Amazing art as always. I literally can't find a problem with the art, the only way they could improve is with movie level art with a greater budget, which will probably never happen if this gets a S3. Sound - 8 Not a sound guy myself, just going from my experience, it sounded good. Character - 7 Same problem as the story, it doesn't balance the characters well. MC uses an OP power at the end of S1 (trying not to spoil), but barely uses this power in this season. Im sensing a pattern too. It shows the MC and his companions as weak for the first part of the show, the…

In the world of Firetruck Squad, individual human life is treated very cheaply. In a world where anybody can spontaneously die from a bad case of the explosions, anybody would become disenchanted with death. A lot of people die in this, and in some cases it's even played for laughs, like the guy who just wanted to wear sneakers. Honestly one of my favorite moments of dark humor in any show I've seen lately. Because death is so prevalent, it's a wonder anybody clings to life at all. It's amazing that a family would be so quick to want to pull their daughter away from fighting fires when she's in just as much danger at home, where fire could start at any time. That combined with the fact that she's stronger than all of them made it monumentally stupid to hold her back. I know it's supposed…

This season is a fantastic improvement over the first season. Especially with the pacing. In the first season things were happening and unfolding far too quickly. It left no time for build up or suspense. "Oh, someone has committed a crime.", "Who is it?", "It's this guy.", literally in two episodes. In this season, they draw out the mystery the anime is primarily supposed to be about, and they do it by filling in the spaces between each piece of the mystery being uncovered with fighting. Lots of fighting. And when your animation style looks as good as this anime does, there's nothing wrong with that. I enjoyed the anime tremendously with the slowed down pacing, and the increased focus on mystery and allowing the viewer to guess what is going on with the Evangelist and the White Clad, the…

I hate long reviews. The world building of first season is expanded. The search for eight pillars continues, main villains - The Evangelists - have come onto the stage, many mysteries both from prior episodes and from current season still stay unanswered. Shonen story. Animation is good, at times very good, I like the action and fights are pleasing to watch. Characters are typical shonen cast, each with his/her unique characteristic(1), but even then story progression uses them up too quickly. tl;dr Typical shonen with highly incoherent story that targets viewers short attention spawn, and at times contradicts itself and prays on viewers awe/ignorance of rational thought.

The only way I can review this is by splitting the season in parts. Part 1: everything before episode 18, Part 2: episode 18, Part 3: everything after episode 18. (TL;DR the first part of the season was a 10, the second part was a 5, and the third part was a 1). First part: The first part of the season was spectacular. We're constantly learning something new about the world, and, although it's not quite there yet, you can see how it's all starting to come together. We learn more about the history and geography of the world, as well as the people who inhabit it. Some interesting minor characters that didn't have a lot of screen time in season 1 were expanded upon, and it was very entertaining to watch. Personally, I can't think of anything wrong with it, and for that reason Part 1 gets a…
