Haikyu!!

Haikyu!!

Introduction

Ever since having witnessed the "Little Giant" and his astonishing skills on the volleyball court, Shouyou Hinata has been bewitched by the dynamic nature of the sport. Even though his attempt to make his debut as a volleyball regular during a middle school tournament went up in flames, he longs to prove that his less-than-impressive height ceases to be a hindrance in the face of his sheer will and perseverance. When Hinata enrolls in Karasuno High School, the Little Giant's alma mater, he believes that he is one step closer to his goal of becoming a professional volleyball player. Although the school only retains a shadow of its former glory, Hinata's conviction isn't shaken until he learns that Tobio Kageyama—the prodigy who humiliated Hinata's middle school volleyball team in a crushing defeat—is now his teammate. To fulfill his desire of leaving a mark on the realm of volleyball—so often regarded as the domain of the tall and the strong—Hinata must smooth out his differences with Kageyama. Only when Hinata learns what it takes to be a part of a team will he be able to join the race to the top in earnest. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Haikyuu.

It’s a fantastic sports story; although it revolves around two main characters, there is a vast cast, each with their own backstory. We primarily follow the team the protagonists belong to—a squad whose golden age has long since passed and is now being rebuilt little by little. Among the main characters, there is Hinata, a boy who discovered his passion for volleyball somewhat late. Having grown up in an area without a volleyball team, he still has a lot to learn, but he possesses unique talent and speed that will help him become one of the best. Then there is Kageyama, a naturally gifted player who believes he can win matches on his own—an attitude that causes him plenty of trouble. I think he is one of the characters who undergoes the most growth throughout the first season. The anima…

I’ve never watched a sports anime before and I don’t even like volleyball in real life. This show took me by storm wow. It’s freaking amazing and really invokes that feeling of the human spirit itself. Whatever challenges in life we face we don’t have to face alone, we have friends beside us. What I lack someone else can compliment with their own strength, or maybe I didn’t give myself enough credit for the power I really had. Those around you that you love uplift you to be the best you can be. That’s this show, and it’s beautiful. Holy W anime.

“Aerodynamically, the bumblebee shouldn’t be able to fly… but it does anyway.” That’s basically Haikyuu!! Season 1. On paper, it’s just a volleyball anime. Nothing crazy. Nothing groundbreaking. But like the bumblebee, it doesn’t really care what it’s supposed to be. It just goes and flies anyway. And somehow it works ridiculously well. The show kind of gives you that perspective that what you can and can’t do is mostly decided in your own head. The characters aren’t perfect, not even close, but they keep pushing past what they think are their limits, and that’s where the magic is. On top of that, it’s just a really cozy watch. You get those nice slice of life moments, fun character development, and a soundtrack that has no business going that hard during volleyball matches. There’s…

The most beloved sports anime of today. It might sound controversial at first, but in my opinion, it's hard to deny: Haikyuu!! is currently the most beloved and respected sports anime by the public. When I compare it to other big names in the genre like Slam Dunk, Blue Lock, Inazuma Eleven, and Kuroko no Basket, none of them can compete with the impact and consistency that Haikyuu!! delivers. And before this seems like just an opinion thrown to the wind, it's worth explaining why. The great difference of Haikyuu!! lies in its realism. The work portrays the development of the characters in a way that is extremely faithful to what happens in real sports. Here, evolution doesn't come from "special powers" or disguised supernatural abilities; it comes from training, effort, repetition, and…

Haikyuu is a phenomenal sports anime. While not entirely grounded in reality, the show encapsulates what it means to be a young athlete, to have that motivation and drive to push yourself despite the odds, despite the self doubt that may plague yourmind, while never completely jumping the shark and staying true to its roots of realistic vollyball. I am a big sucker for anime where the MCs are forced to work hard to show any improvement. There are fewer things that irk me more then the idea of :natural talent", so having a protagonist that is not only devoid of the fake idea of Natural talent, but also physical at a disadvantage being a shorter player. Meaning they have to work even harder then those around them to succeed. But even the characters around our MC aren't just naturally tale…

This is one of those anime you start casually… and suddenly it becomes your entire personality. I began watching it maybe last year, maybe this year... honestly, who even knows anymore 😃 With all the other anime and series I was juggling, I just couldn’t get around to finishing it. But now I’m UNFORTUNATELY done, and it makes me want to cry all over again xdd. This anime took me through every possible emotion. I enjoyed every single match with them, cheering like a maniac, screaming at the screen, crying at the emotional moments, swearing when things went wrong, and yes… even smacking myself in the head when they made a stupid mistake. The emotional damage was real. As a sports anime, it hits differently, especially if you actually like volleyball. The energy, the teamwork, the tension, t…

I got obsessed with Haikyuu!! the moment I started it, and honestly, that obsession never really went away. I still find myself rewatching episodes or flipping through the manga when I need a little pick me up. There’s just something about this anime that makes you feel like you belong there with them. Every match, every practice, every stupid joke they make, it all feels so real. You start to root for everyone, like they’re your own team. I’ve always connected with Tsukishima Kei the most, his attitude, his quiet way of caring, that slow growth that hits hard when you notice it. Watching the team rise together, fail together, and finally succeed as one... it’s the kind of story that never gets old for me. No matter how many times I watch it, it still gives me that same rush, like I’m par…

So this is a review for the anime including the garbage dump movie It's awesome, Haikyu is such a good sports anime and im glad i watched it, now if your older like me you might be put off bu the childlike characters and atmosphere i got from hearing about haikyu but honestly it's none of that, it is at times a bit off putting, the comedy isn't perfect but the rest makes it a good anime. The action scenes are great, the animation as well even though the art takes a different direction in the last season which i didn't like (makes the characters all look like 9yr olds) The soundtrack often unnoticeable in anime's is great in this one I want to play volleyball now

I want to erase this anime from my mind just so I can rewatch it again for the first time. It makes up 99% of my personality. The other 1% is chicken nuggets. The fact that the characters are so lovable means you're rooting for each one's success, even when they're the opposing team. There's so much backstory for each one, and so distinct that it doesn't feel repetitive or recycled. The pacing is done REALLY well. It's not one of those shows where the characters beat one team then magically gain extra skills and win everything else. You can actually see the effort they put into their work to grow individually and as teammates, which is interesting since the dynamics shift drastically. I've recommended this one to all my friends and they've formed a deep obsession with this anime. If you'…

Haikyū!!, an anime that made me vibrate with volleyball! Overall, this anime is excellent! Starting with the players who are badass both physically and in their playing styles. The characters, especially the players of the Karasuno team are charismatic and endearing, all linked by the desire to win matches. This is undoubtedly one of the reasons why I liked this anime. It is the sporty Nekketsu. The animation and the character design are very beautiful, very fluid and very dynamic. In terms of the soundtrack, the openings, the endings and the OST are one of the strong points. With a J-Pop style, they match well the atmosphere of the anime. Everything you need to definitely love it! In short, this volleyball anime is very fun to follow!

Haikyu!! tells a sports story that is less about winning trophies and more about the process of growth that happens inside a team. The narrative begins with Shoyo Hinata, a boy who falls in love with volleyball after watching a small but extraordinary player known as the Little Giant. Inspired by that moment, Hinata enters the sport despite lacking the height usually required to dominate the game. Early attempts end in failure when Hinata’s middle school team is crushed by a powerful opponent led by Tobio Kageyama, a prodigy setter whose overwhelming skill contrasts sharply with Hinata’s raw enthusiasm. Fate pushes the story in an unexpected direction when both players later join the same high school, Karasuno. Instead of remaining rivals, Hinata and Kageyama are forced to cooperate. Their…

It made me so nostalgic to watch it so I think it influenced my opinion on it. It's the type of show that makes you want to have friends and live a cool and happy life during high school... I loved the character's backstory and their motives, the matches were just too long, cuz wym it can lasts a whole season... I love it for the vibes, but I don't know if I would recommend it to someone who wants to start sport anime because it was really long and not everyone would have the strength to not give up before the end.

Haikyuu!! is one of the most electrifying sports anime out there, blending thrilling volleyball action with deeply relatable character growth and team dynamics. From the moment you meet Shoyo Hinata, the passionate underdog with an insatiable drive, you’re pulled into a story about chasing dreams despite overwhelming odds. The series shines in its portrayal of teamwork — it’s never just about individual talent but how players lift each other up. The animation during matches is fast-paced and fluid, capturing every spike, block, and dive with cinematic intensity. The soundtrack amps up the excitement perfectly, giving high-energy moments an adrenaline rush and quiet scenes a thoughtful tone. Character development is superb across the board. From the fiery rivalries to the awkward friendsh…

Haikyuu!! scores a perfect 10/10, arguably the peak of sports anime. While the underdog team aiming high isn't a unique story concept, its execution is simply flawless, making it utterly compelling. The animation is phenomenal, dynamically capturing the speed and intensity of volleyball like few others. Its massive cast features incredibly well rounded characters, each with distinct personalities, strengths, and believable flaws; their reactions during high stakes matches, like the electrifying early battle between Karasuno and Aoba Johsai, feel authentic and generate immense hype. Fantastic openings and a story that grabs you from the very first episode solidify its status as a true gem. Highly recommended for absolutely everyone; its energy, character depth, and thrilling matches transce…

My top anime of all time. You'd be surprised by how intricate the story telling is, don't be fooled by the premise. Rewatch value is off the charts, in every rewatch & re-read I find myself picking up on new motifs and details. If I had to argue that an anime can be critically acclaimed in terms of story telling, I'd point to Haikyuu. That says everything. Hinata as a protagonist is one of the best I've seen in anime. He's well rounded, passionate and is the perfect candidate to push the story forward. Every single character is likeable & has depth to them, which is saying a lot considering the anime boasts a huge cast of side characters. Haikyuu is just one of those stories that will change your life. I can see people dismissing it as "slow", to that all I can say is that it's a shame…

Yo! I was recommended this anime for a while and I was like "Hm, if he likes it, I'll probably like it, but it's volleyball, hm meh" So, I finally gave in and watched this anime. And...It's one of the best ones I've seen. So here is your confirmation that you don't need to like volleyball to enjoy this anime. There are a lot of moments that I love to rewatch and that is always a good sign! I laughed, I cried, I cheered for them. It had me engaged through and through and they let you get to know every member of the team and feel for them. Yes, the anime focuses mainly on two characters, but the other players also get their fair share in the spotlight. And you will feel for them OOOO the feels. For every team that wins, for every team that loses. Yes...they show the aftermath from both s…

I found Haikyuu to be pleasantly surprising! I don't normally care for sport-based anime, but Haikyuu has a certain charm that really pulls you in. Something notable IMO is that the anime doesn't fall into the trope of making all these high-school age children into god-tier players. With the exception of Kageyama, all the characters in the show are performing at levels I'd expect of a HS volleyball team, and their secret moves (like floater serves) are the types of skills that advanced HS athletes would realistically be trying to learn. In that sense Haikyuu had a realism that made me very nostalgic for my own time playing Volleyball in HS!

I feel compelled to write a review for this simply for how motivational this show is. The only other review I have written was about Kuroko's Basketball -I was just kind of triggered at how outlandish and silly it was. This is the opposite: a sports drama that is much more grounded and realistic, shows great character development, and just inspires you to stay determined on your own goals. For a lot of people, that goal was to be more active and get into volleyball and even if they quit soon after joining, the fact that so many tried in the first place just goes to show how inspirational and uplifting this show is. Starting with areas of improvement (imo): -comes off a little trope-y at times: power of friendship, from weaklings to world-beaters, hardwork solves anything, opposite persona…

Fly High! A battle of heights, where shorts are at the disadvantage, but it is where we get to see the most motivational and inspirational of all time. Because what if we are at a disadvantage or handicap, though it’s not made us useless? It’s given us room for improvement, to see the summit from the top.   The story is about a volleyball-loving freak meeting another volleyball-loving freak, lol. It sounds like cliché, right? Anyway, Hinata, the protagonist of Haikyuu, is short, but his effort knows no bounds. As if he wants to fly higher and higher to surpass everyone. What can we expect from a classic sports anime? But Haikyuu isn’t just about that, and this is the reason; it is my most favorite sports anime. The reason is that every character, even if he/she is a minor character, got m…
