High School DxD New

Introduction

The misadventures of Issei Hyoudou, high school pervert and aspiring Harem King, continue on in High School DxD New. As the members of the Occult Research Club carry out their regular activities, it becomes increasingly obvious that there is something wrong with their Knight, the usually composed and alert Yuuto Kiba. Soon, Issei learns of Kiba's dark, bloody past and its connection to the mysterious Holy Swords. Once the subject of a cruel experiment, Kiba now seeks revenge on all those who wronged him. With the return of an old enemy, as well as the appearance of two new, Holy Sword-wielding beauties, it isn't long before Issei and his Devil comrades are plunged into a twisted plot once more. High School DXD New felt kinda off and was way to far with the fan service, yes it always had fan service but not that bad. Its story was pretty nice for High School DXD standards but some characters just felt very butchered. For example Koneko, she originally hated Issei and now out of no where shes feeling up to him and it feels very off for her character. The chemistry between the main cast this season feels very alive and that's one of the biggest saving graces for High School DXD New. In the end if you enjoyed shows like Testament of the Sister Devil and other shows with a lot of fan service but a story over arching it this show is definitely for you.

High School DxD New, a season that deepens the universe. Overall, I find that this second season remains on the same basis compared to the first season. It's always a pleasure to follow Issei and his friends! The plot is much more interesting than the first season! It deepens the dynamics between the protagonists while developing the supernatural universe with more coherence and complexity. The animation and character design remain the same. In terms of the soundtrack, I like both openings and endings even if the fan service is still more present. The OST is consistently good. In short, this season is always a pleasure to follow!

I watched this immediately after completing season one, and most of what I said in my season one review is still applicable here, but I do feel this season takes a baby step backwards. The tone seemingly shifts a bit away from light-hearted and comedic (it keeps this, but it feels less so than it did before) and more towards being a battle anime/traditional shounen, which is a change I personally dislike, but that doesn't make it objectively bad. The cast and scope of the plot is getting quite large, almost like an isekai, and as such some characters that were important and got their share of screen time in season one, such as Koneko, really got pushed to the side this time around. Likewise I find a newly introduced character, Gasper, to be utterly obnoxious and whiny and not appealing in…

I think this anime is kind of formula harem and the origin of ecchi harem. I don’t like this genre because beside it cover the topic that it want to perform . Character does not have a development .It does not show time when the protagonists is not exist in the show and how they cope with the problem by themselves. It ‘s gore but what about another topics that I should enjoy. Dragon encyclopedia more like tities encyclopedia. Many fan service and I hate it to be honest. Story is not unique cuz I have seen the Bible black and it do better than this anime. Art style is fit for ecchi harem fan service anime. Character is well-rounded followed the formula of harem anime.and character does not have the realistic thinking. I don’t like because of typical harem. Does not have unique story . I…

This continues to be impressive. The plots and action are well done. Each story is told with just the right level of unknown - we know what we're seeing. but it's not until an ultimate reveal after the right amount of build hits us that keeps us on the guessing train, even though some plots might be obvious. There's a good bit of honest character development with Issei when it comes to acting as a developed individual - from passion to sheer caring for those around him. His actions are heroic - yet stupid sometimes - but his intent is to always protect the rest of the family. The lewdness remains but still isn't overbearing. The art is done well with it. I was just hoping for a little maturity away from that (better focus to those things I mentioned), but Issei is as Issei does. The 3rd…

Season 2 is where this ride starts to come off the rails, The story just isn't as good, the ecchi elements are now out in full force to the point it becomes obnoxious, we're now in full harem mode, which has characters acting counter to how they were previously established, we have new characters that aren't as strong, or are just outright annoying (with the exception of Azazel) It's just not as good, or as enjoyable as Season 1 One of the strong points about this series has been the story, yet in season 2 there are several issues with the story, there are glaring plot holes **Minor spoilers ahead** in order to have the main story happen, they decide that they can't interfere or act against the fallen angels in case it would restart the war - but Season 1 had them do just that. Rias r…

So, following on from my short review of the first season of DxD, DxD New picks off from where the first season left off. So Issei manned up and got his girl back from Mr Steal yo Prez but despite this, he still has not come to a full understanding of his feelings. Issei is getting stronger gradually in fighting though through communicating with Dreg, the Sacred Gear Issei has on his arm. His childhood friend Irina comes into the story (she is totes adorb) and initially has no idea Issei had gone to the dark side. Another girl called Xenovia (HOTTIE) comes in and things are starting to heat up for Issei.

To be honest when I first found this show, and the first time I watched it, it was just echi and a lot of boobs, but the more and more I re watch it I figure out something new and it get's better and better, (come for the boobs, stay for the plot) the character development works great and I'm just a sucker for mythology tbh it's great I understand it and it was one of my first anime I watched that got me hooked to the idea that anime is amazing it's been 1-2 years since i first watched it and it stuck with me and each time i re watch it i never get bored I love it and I think who ever else watches this series will love it too.

As a person who's only ever watched less than 20 animes. ( Mainly cause many animes not my cup of tea. ) But High School DxD definitely had me pumped and excited for each following episode. The genre for High School DxD is so very interesting for me, it definitely has a lot of sexual non-pg scenes. But that's what makes the anime so satisfying to watch as an audient. It is a mix and match of Action, Comedy, Love stories, and Sexy stuff. Which I personally think matches very well together. The characters are mostly very well developed. There isn't anyone that's not thoroughly explained. Rias, Akeno, and Issei are very well-developed characters with rich characteristics you can't find anywhere else. Overall an awesome anime with blazing hot characters. That will satisfy you as a watcher.

Coming off of the success of the previous season would be a very difficult task to accomplish. After all, it’s in the second season where most harem anime go to die hard without any vengeance, eventually fading into obscurity, so managing to actually deliver a second season of this show that was just as good would be a great sign, and probably enough for many people. Though, High School DxD did not deliver the same enjoyment and quality the first season brought. “Why is that?,” you might ask, and it’s simple, really. High School DxD New went above and beyond any of my expectations and turned into something truly great. This review is going to serve as my reasoning for why I would say High School DxD New is amazing. The art and style of the show remains mostly the same as the last season.…

Higschool DxD is a harem based fantasy title that is very much know for it's ecchi standard and such is labelled as ecchi. However, besides the ecchi is an unique experience to the harem dramas that leave viewers desiring more. While I am not a huge fan of harems in general, the harem presented in Highschool DxD is interesting and curious WARNING: THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS Story: 6/10 Harem stories do not have much complexity to them, but Highschool DxD takes an unique on the baseline and makes it original using it's own quirky elements. While taking this risk is extremely unique, the plot itself sometimes to be scattered and confusing. However, the story flows in a way where you can follow the plot no matter what you do. S2 of Highschool DxD takes a much plot focused approach to the stor…

Season 2: THE BEST SEASON Akeno, Kiba, Saji, and Sirzechs were great in this season. Xenovia, Irina, Azazel, Gasper, and Vali were astounding additions to the show. Kiba and Akeno’s arcs were fantastic, and I loved them more than I did in season 1. Kiba is up there with Issei for best male characters, Akeno’s love for Issei is as good as Rias, Koneko’s feelings for Issei was UNEXPECTED, Asia’s gentleness didn’t waver even with what happened to her, Xenovia and Irina’s roles were great, Gasper was a good welcome, Saji’s role expanded and made him more likeable, and Azazel and Vali’s roles were astounding! Harem continued to grow with Akeno (Unexpectedly), Koneko (Slowly and surprisingly), and Xenovia (Surprisingly and funny). The plot actually improved and the fact that the first villain,…

Season 2 of High School DXD is not as good as the first one but still has its own moments. Some of the characters from the previous season get their own arcs and more development, but Rias is still the most interesting character. Other than Azazel, the new characters in this season are mostly foregettable. I would have preffered more development for the older characters than introducing new characters. The pacing is sometimes too brisk a villan is introduced and then almost immediately taken down by another new bland character. Blink and you can miss important plot details. The lore gets more developed in this season, but I think the pacing was too quick, it can easily have been expanded into maybe the new season. Any lore with the Dragon Arm thing is thrown out the window as the main chra…

Note: I watched the dubbed version of the series and I’ve read the novels, so I’m taking that into consideration in my review. Being the poster child of the ecchi and harem genre, High School DxD is a popular and well-loved series known for its top-tier ecchi and its fun and dynamic cast of characters. In the series’ second installment, DxD New expands on the first season with its ever growing cast of characters and their development and its thickening plot line. Adapting the third and fourth volumes of the light novel series, covering the first half of the second arc, New is a great addition to the franchise. Just what makes this season just as good or even better than the first season? Being a story and character-driven series, this season focuses on Kiba and his backstory, as well as…

NEVER WATCH THIS IN PUBLIC OR WITH PARENTS Fellow veteran weebs are okay tough. What made season one of DxD great didn't shine as hard as in season two (see my review of season one). They even cut down of undress time. The price which we payed for less awesome action and ero-time is that we got more story development what made up for it. Although the plot was quite predictable, the whole was still fun and enjoyable to watch. The characters felt a little bit more flattened and the fights were more static, which was a bummer compared to season one. The relationships improved and introduced some new characters to further develop the story, but that feels a bit bland to. On top of that they also downgraded the opening and ending, cutting out on the good line of the female demons. The good vo…

tl;dr: An incredibly solid continuation of the first season that begins focusing more on a much larger overarching story. This is a solid continuation of the first season of DxD in pretty much every respect. It has pretty much everything the first season had and does them all pretty well once again. The action is solid and quite crazy at times. There are a lot of crazy moments, in terms of being awesome, in terms of being ridiculous, and in terms of being both awesome and completely ridiculous, which are the real stand out moments and what really feel like the highlights of the series. The comedy and fanservice as expected are very closely aligned and great as usual. The plot as before and contrary to what one would expect from the genre is actually really great too, though here it seems…

The second season of DXD Highschool was a pretty good continuation of the story we saw in Season 1, but I would say that the storytelling felt a bit lackluster. Challenges escalate as one would expect, except that the enemies seem to be able to power up infinitely. I mean, come on, you can only say "I guess I should get serious now!" so many times. Beyond that, I'd say that this anime is spectacular good fun. The main character is just a reflection of those who are watching the show, let's be honest; we are all, including the MC, just here for the boobs. The fact that the characters are endearing and the dialogue in the english dub is both mind-bogglinging hilarious and refreshing, is all cherries on top of the, uhh, jiggly mountains of silky smooth, supple dessert. I continue to recom…

I mean, this is a series about a guy who will turn into the universe's ultimate weapon just by thinking about tiddies. It's not exactly a cerebral concept, and yet at the same time it actually instills a sense of happiness that's way beyond what it should...and that's even before all the ecchi stuff. In fact, what makes me appreciate DxD so much is the attention to Christian lore. Through the first two seasons we got references to Longinus, the Imperial Regalia, Roland, Saint George, pretty much the entire gamut of the Lemegeton, and probably more that I missed out on. The created world here draws on so much mythology that a production of lesser quality would have barfed a maelstrom of conflicting concepts on top of a mountain of kazongas. DxD makes it work in a clever manner that drives…

As shocked you'd be hearing it, and believe me, I would have never expected myself to say such a thing, this is an extreme harem/ecchi with a solid plot, this is a great sequel, this is a plot involving tale. I know it's hard to believe, nudity is everywhere, but I feel that the first season did its trick on us, and gave us our share of fanservice only to let us focus on the plot later with no distractions. High School DxD New improves on its prequel on so many levels, it's no longer about nasty perverted stuff, although that's what dragged us into the series in the first place, this story turned out to be with a more involving plot that we might have anticipated. - Story (8.7/10): The first season was really weak in terms of storytelling, we got introduced to the three major factions yes…
