Well this is definitely false advertising. Netflix lists it as a second season, in reality it’s just a very long OVA series. The entire 13 episodes are just little funny moments and things that never made it into the original series but that were in the manga. So only watch it if you liked the original 13 episodes. If you didn’t you will very likely not enjoy it at all. If you did, you’ll like it, I don’t need to add a probably.
I rated this slightly higher than the original show because as a special series it can’t be rated with the same system as an actual show. I can’t criticize a medium designed to have no plot for having no plot. I can however criticize the actual show for that which was what primarily diminished its rating. When there’s no expectation of a story, these characters i…

A great albeit confusing sequel to a fantastic romcom - one could only wish that it was actually all adapted in chronological story order and not how it was actually done because if it was it would be even better by ten folds - I absolutely adored the bonds between all the charachters this season and it really shows why and how they are all so close to each other which was very much sidelined in the first season as the main couple took most of the priority however in this season you can see all the pieces that were missing that would have been a key part of the characters developments - at time it was really confusing tho to try and figure out whether some scenes took place before the events of season 1 or whether they took place after some events from season 1 - overall tho a great season…

This should have been a whole redo of the whole thing, not just a series of mixed episodes that are loosely connected to the main thing, but without the context of the main thing.
It's quite obvious that the main anime is quite good, and this one essentially encapsulates the missing parts that weren't adapted, but I still think this is the wrong way to do it. It would have been much much better to re-release the whole thing as a "director's cut" or something like that, so that main events and side events would have been entwined more easily.
It just doesn't flow as good as the main anime for obvious reasons, despite adding more context and expanding more, especially for side characters have a bit of a "oh, that's why it was like that" moment.

TL;DR: Horimiya: Piece was good addition to the original Horimiya, as it gives a lot more development to a couple characters. However, it also introduces a few characters and doesn't develop them a lot, much like the original Horimiya. In addition, Horimiya: Piece fails to ground itself as it's own standalone season of anime, despite being posed as such.
Obligatory {{{ I HAVEN'T READ THE MANGA }}} warning.
Horimiya: Piece expands quite a bit more on the cast from the original Horimiya, with side plots about each one's fairings. This was a rather pleasant season of anime to watch, with the Piece leaning more into comedy and slice-of-life than the original Horimiya did. The season is broken up into individual "snapshots" of moments from across their school year, which made following the pl…

This season felt like an extended OVA. I'm not disappointed, it's just felt like it. I like it though, not gonna lie, but the story is still not complete yet. I saw a post online saying that this season didn't cover the "missing piece" all the way through. It is still great, but not fully satisfying.

Plot/Story
I talked about the story already in the first season review. It's roughly the same, but the difference in this "second season" is that they animated popular scenes that were skipped in the first season. Yes, that's basically what this season is all about.
And I have also se…

I'll get straight to the point: Horimiya The Missing Pieces is everyone's free therapist. It's so hilarious that there's not a single ep that'll leave you unimpacted.
1) Character design: 7/10 (i didn't like the hair colors of some of important side characters. Tho, the design (e.g. hairstyle, body style) was great. Their personality was decent, not so classic like other shows.)
2) Plot: 10/10 (Basically a slice of life [romcom] without targeting or aiming smth specific like mystery shows. Here the author/artist brings to life the daily school/house life of a group of teenagers. Nothing too hyping, just some youngsters enjoying their life until graduation. 3) character development: 8,5/10 (Tho the show's basically about some romance and comedy, there doesn't seem to be much development,…

Horimiya: Piece (or in English, Horimiya: The Missing Pieces) is precisely what the name implies: the "missing pieces" of the Horimiya story. It consists of content from the manga that didn't make it into the original show, paired with a sizeable upgrade in production quality. Coupled with a shift toward a more slice-of-life structure, it surpasses the original on almost every point, making it a great watch for most anime fans and a must-watch for Horimiya enthusiasts.
As stated, the plot is almost entirely SoL, with the usual comedic elements thrown in. The focus lies less on the romance of the previous season and more on showcasing the everyday moments shared by the characters. On one hand, I can see why these parts were originally cut, as nothing of major relevance to the central plot…

I highly recommend it, one of the best I've seen, it's in my top 5 best animes I've watched, it's so fun how the whole story is crafted, it made me cry at the end
Personally, I have found it hard to predict what would happen; the characters all have their charm, flaws, and perfections. It's a beautiful story, It's a masterpiece every situation, whether romantic or comedic, reaches deep into the heart. It's a pretty funny anime and a very good choice if you don't know what to watch, all the characters are pretty good with good design and personality, and many scenes in the anime are quite funny, that's all, it's a very recommendable anime

As someone who is a great fan of romance anime and has seen a lot of them, this was by far the worst one I’ve ever had the chance to witness. Don’t get me wrong. I’ve heard that the manga is much better, and even though I haven’t read it, I’m inclined to agree, because I can’t imagine anything worse than this.
I’ll keep it simple: the whole anime is rushed, and therefore you have no chance to form any connection with the main characters. It focuses more on the side characters, who, in my opinion, are not very interesting. To me, for someone to say that Horimiya is a good anime or, god forbid, the best is absolutely unimaginable.
I understand that some people may not be as experienced with romance anime as I am, but I still expect that if you are not completely clueless and have any real…

If the first season of Horimiya felt shallow, Horimiya: Piece somehow manages to be even worse. It abandons any sense of continuity and turns into a collection of random side stories that feel completely disconnected. Instead of expanding on the main couple, it serves up filler episodes that add nothing of value.
The structure is messy. Scenes just happen with no buildup, no stakes, and no emotional weight. What little charm the first season had is gone, replaced with awkward pacing and skits that might as well have been cut content left on the editing floor.
Character development is nonexistent, again. The leads remain exactly the same, while the supporting cast gets shoved into spotlight moments that are neither interesting nor memorable.

In simple words, this is Horimiya with comedy x10.
As the name suggests ("The Missing Pieces"), what happens in this 13 episode show is just events, before the characters of horimiya graduate, that weren't included in the main show that happened. And each one of these episodes will get you laughing uncontrollably.
Personally, I found this a lot more funnier than the original show, probably because it is less romance and relationship orientated than the orginal show leaving more room for comedy. That said, it still has its share of romatic scenes. Just keep in mind: you really need to have watched the original series first, since this one doesn’t re-explain character relationships or key plot points (after all, it’s literally “the missing pieces”).
For those who felt a slight sense of em…

Horimiya: The Missing Pieces was a great experience. While this season wasn't as great as the first one, it was meant to fill in the gaps that the first season failed to do. They put aside the romance elements in the story to focus on the comedy and slice of life aspect.
One thing this series does better than most romance anime or anime in general is the group dynamics. The characters in this show feel like real people with everyday struggles, which makes them relatable at times.
overall, I'd give this season an 8/10. I had a bunch of fun watching this show. It had no fan service, it's actually hilarious, and the characters have a genuine relationship. It doesn't waste time on things like misunderstandings or drama. For me, I believe this is what romcom anime should be.

It was good overall but honestly I don't understand horimiya being so popular everyone says it's amazing and to watch it but the story is very simple nothing really that stands out except character dynamics, miyamura is the sensible in relationship and contrary to whatever says I liked miyamura better than hori , hori is this possessive not possessive gf she is good at study and things but is possessive of her bf asks him to do strange things maybe people like that part like mini spoiler she in an episode sniffs miyamura and she can smell other boys or girls scents tbh that seemed very strange even comical idk why people like it . To me horimiya is this mix of strange things + bit realistic , I understand people liking S1 but s2 nah ,the teacher is this strange guy who likes girl; highscho…

I actually enjoyed this more than the first season, even though it was a "filling the gaps" show. I don't have too much to say, so I'll keep it short. Also I watched this when it aired but am only writing my review now (lol).
I'm not saying that season one was bad, it really wasn't, but honestly having less focus on the romance and more focus on the slice of life this time around really provided some much needed depth to the characters for me. I'd go as far as to say that this is one of the very few shows I've watched were the characters feel like living, breathing people instead of characters in a series. I loved the romance, yes, but I loved the group dynamics more.
The OP for this season was really good too, but I don't have too much to say on that part. Banger song and banger visuals…

Horimiya: Piece doesn’t really add much. If anything, we actually get less of Hori and Miyamura’s relationship this time around. That said, the show still delivers on some great moments between them, and when it hits, it hits.
It’s really just a feel-good series. Watch it in your own free time, and you’ll probably enjoy it. Piece definitely helps with appreciating the whole Horimiya series more as a whole. Still, I can’t help but wish for a college arc if they ever decide to make one, but that would mean writing more manga. I just felt like there are still so many unfinished stories left to tell.

This thing right here has maybe the most butchered pacing and broken sense of priorities ever. It is at least easily the worst out of every romance/slice of life manga to anime adaptations I've ever seen.
Season 1 of Horimiya was already flawed in that regard - it has a break-neck speed, left A LOT of stuff on the cutting room floor and still had the gall to waste time on absolutely useless filler like that green haired guy. But it was still good and covered the important stuff, albeit speedrun style
So, the CloverWorks had absolutely genius idea to just use the second season as a patch. Like, they literally dumped the missing stuff back to back without any proper context and sense of flow, and at first it even works. Of course, you still need to do their job for them and mentally put th…

As the name implies, this is not a new storie, rather is the missing pieces cuted out from the original season (2021), so is not a ground breaking experience, but rather a fulling one, since it feels some of the void left be Horimiya 2021.
It's funny, they cover a lot more and some important character's appearance is more prominent here.
I don't felt the exact same thing compared to Horimiya 2021, but is a great side story.
But I do think that would be great if those missing pieces weren't missing in the first place, you know?
But, yeah, I don't feel particularly sad about the ending of Horimiya Pieces, because I've already felt that before.
Rather I'd be happier if in the last episodes they showed a bit more about the future, nothing too out of the ordinary, but it would give that se…

Compliments the original series perfectly, patches all the holes it had. But the timeline is brutal, it's all over the place. Each episode is an OVA basically, you can almost watch this in any order if you've already seen the original anime.
With that being said the quality is the same in every aspect, the scenes are well executed and it has highlights with sweet moments, confessions and realizations. Since these are supposed to be the less important parts of the manga it tends to lean towards comedy a bit more, but it still has surprisingly many emotional, sweet scenes which you wouldn't expect because of the "OVA nature" of this sequel.
Horimiya was a 9 for me because it obviously cut out many important parts (which got released later as Horimiya - Piece).
Horimiya is a 9 because of th…

I was a bit nervous that the second season wouldn't live up to the first, but I was blown away by how perfectly it captured the ups and downs of relationships. Hori and Miyamura's love story is still my favorite, but this season we got to see so much more of the supporting characters and their own struggles and triumphs. I loved how the show explored the little moments that make life worth living - the silly jokes, the quiet moments, the silly fights... it all felt so real and relatable. The animation was stunning, the music was catchy, and the dialogue was witty and heartfelt. I found myself laughing out loud one minute and tearing up the next. If you loved the first season, you won't be disappointed - and if you haven't watched it yet, trust me and give it a try!

Story (7) :
I think I understand the title of this anime, which is the missing piece. It tells about the untold story in Season 1. So in this anime it tells about High School teenagers wholesome like that, like life in their school with their circle. Where in season 1, they focused on Hori & Miyamura but in the anime it tells about them and their friends or their circle. So in the final episode of season 1, which is graduation, in this anime it's like nostalgia that they experience in the High School environment with their circle. I quite like the story, and this might be able to relate to high school students to get close to friends. But honestly, I didn't expect this anime to be like this. I thought it would continue season 1 like where they were already in college but not. In this anim…
