- I like her best friends.
- Sucy is OP.
- Too bad it's too short.

Now MAL requires 500 words for review and I don't know how to do that.
Guess I'll just post a recipe below.
How to Cook Spaghetti? 1. Boil the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti noodles and cook according to the package directions until tender. Drain the pasta.
2. Cook the meat: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and ground beef. Cook until the meat is fully browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain any excess grease.
3. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the tomato sauce and season with salt and pepper. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
4. Combine and ser…

And this is where it all started. Before the TV series expanded the world and gave us more time with everyone, there was this little movie that somehow managed to make me immediately fall in love with Little Witch Academia.
It's simple, short, and doesn't try to do anything revolutionary. But the charm was already there: the magic, the visual style, the ridiculous situations, and of course Akko being Akko. She has that protagonist energy of someone who is constantly one bad decision away from causing a magical catastrophe, and honestly, that's part of why she's so fun.
I think that's what I like most about this franchise: it never feels ashamed of being whimsical. It's about witches, magic, flying brooms, strange creatures, and believing in something even when everyone around you thinks yo…

Disclaimer: the following review/analysis is oriented towards those who finished the OVA (short film) and anime, and as such, there will be spoilers.
The "little witch academy" OVA (first movie) anime is the worst OVA in the history of the world, and the "little witch academy" anime is the worst anime in the history of mankind. I thought the worst anime in the history of the world was "guyver". But it turns out, there is a person who made an anime that is much more bad and immoral than "guyver" - the author of the "little witch academy" OVA and anime.
The author of the "little witch academy" OVA, as well as the "little witch academy" franchise itself, is an completely untalented director and screenwriter who can't come up with anything for an anime plot besides the disgusting "monsters a…

The story of the making of Little Witch Academia is quite compelling in and of itself and an inspiring example to other studios in the industry. Much like how Ryan Reynolds managed to get Deadpool made by leaking some of Fox's test footage and goading the public into bullying the studio to make it, Trigger published a 25 min OVA in 2013 simply called Little Witch Academia. They expressed a desire to turn it into a proper TV show and opened a Kickstarter fund for it.
Once they got into some money, they released a proper hour-long movie, Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade in the year 2015, after which they got proper funding and the TV show aired from the winter to the summer of 2017. One can only hope more studios will follow their example of actually crowdsourcing the funding for…

I mean,
it looks good.
Like really good.
But the characters are flat and annoying, the plot barren, the world is derivative and uninspired
I managed to stay awake through it all, somehow. But thats not really praise. It feels like a pilot for an actual show (which it basically is) but if this pilot was shown to me I can't honestly say I'd green light it.
Sure there is quite a few cute scenes and the characters clearly have some decent dynamics worked out, maybe the comedy is lost in translation.
Then again everyone else likes it so maybe I'm just a weird outlier? I really don't have a lot to say.

This is a little gem of studio Trigger, and I'mhappy they've adapted into a 25 episode anime.
Where Little Witch Academia shines is it animation. Everything is done so smooth and atheistic pleasing to look at. There's movement, the spells look nice and polished, there's action. It's just nice to see such well animated movements, much like Kill la Kill. In the first minute where you get blown away by the witch show, you keep in the "woooow" state.
This short film has good humor and actually packs a lot of moments into 25 minutes. The flow and pacing is very smooth and well made. It doesn't look rushed and it surely doesn't drag about a single detail to long. The jokes are natural and that makes em more funny.
I had fun watching this little gem and I definitely got the chills watching all…

Going into this “short,” I was worried it wouldn’t be a satiating experience given how little time it’s given. Even feature-length films leave me wishing a plot or characters were explored more thoroughly. I don’t know how, but Little Witch Academia managed to feel coherent and complete in such a small amount of time. Maybe witchcraft?
While the plot is simply about a boorish (and extremely lovable) girl trying her best to prove herself as a witch and is given the perfect opportunity, it didn’t feel that simple thanks to good pacing and a strong supporting cast of characters who are written well. The whole thing is animated very lively, as you'd expect from TRIGGER. There’s something to be said about the music and great voice acting as well.
Definitely watch Little Witch Academia—it’s t…

After finishing the Little Witch Academia ( TV ) version. I felt happy, joyous, and grateful. However, something was missing..The feeling of "real" closure. When I finished the TV version, I did not watch the other two because I thought that it was pretty much the same and it'd be a waste of time. But I was wrong. After finishing the two movies, I finally feel fulfilled as if the heavy thoughts of guilt from not actually finishing all the anime has to offer inside my mind have been lifted.
If you watch this after the TV show then you'll probably think that its very good like me right now despite the fact that its not as good as the TV show itself. Still. This series is fucking amazing and I enjoy every single moment of it.
If you want to watch Little Witch Academia then you should foll…

What a sweet little thing! And with little, I mean really little! It's only like half an hour!
Half an hour to introduce all the characters, set up the story, wrap it up, and hopefully get some development in-between.
For me, I like longer stories, so I wouldn't have minded a longer version. And of course it suffers a bit in that perspective; there's not enough time to get to know the characters as much as I would've liked. I would've liked a longer introduction as well, and a few more antics.
But, what it does accomplish in its short time, is quite a lot! The characters are enjoyable; the story is quick and to the point, simple and intriguing. It's nothing ground-breaking at all, but you just want to see how our goofie main cast gets through this silly situation.
The spectacle is some…

Finally decided to pick up this short film. It boasts great animation and good sound, but it's really rushed. Imagine having to watch Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone condensed into the length of a half-hour TV show, that's what it's like. But it shows promise, and thankfully it gets expanded upon with an hour-long movie and an anime series (which I will definitely have to check out). But as a stand-alone piece of media, it's biggest flaw is the super rushed pacing, plus the whole loser vs stuck-up popular girl cliché, which I think is really overdone in these kinds of anime.

Aside from the animation, everything else feels super amateurish.
The writing especially; the dialogue feels like it was written by someone who has watched anime and nothing else. It really feels like everyone says what they say and act the way they do because 'that's what it's like in anime'.
This short reminded me of Miyazaki's issue with the current anime industry, where now, the people who are making the anime are people who grew up on anime, and so are replicating what this 'anime community' has deemed the norm, instead of trying to create something wholly original.
As I said right at the beginning, the only real merit I can give to this short is the stupendously well crafted animation, and the presentation in general. Poppy, vibrant colors, both cute and cool character designs, and…

I'm happy that I watched the anime first before this because if I did watch this first, then I honestly shouldn't have bothered watching the TV Series
The Story is, at best, Mediocre. It's okay, but it's not something that'll make you go crazy about, or to be impressed.
Art is kinda off compared to the TV Series, but hey, it's good
Sound, well, there's nothing special about it tbh. So 5
Character is 6
The enjoyment is there, but not totally since let's be honest, most old-school Disney show series are better than this, and why am I comparing this to Disney? well, it obviously feels like it's trying to rip off a Disney show series.
Overall, I give this a 6, but I am honestly glad on how much they changed the real thing. This movie doesn't make any sense today, so best to skip it.

Question: What can a studio do in 26 minutes?
Answer: A butt-tonne!
This was a great little piece with a lot of emotion, good character building and story. There's a lot of emphasis on show-don't-tell with the majority of the details, due to the time constraints, but that really works in it's favour. It makes the whole story a lot more immersive and natural, and I found myself really getting sucked into it all.
The art is very typical Trigger - the scenery is pretty and the characters are really emotive with well-defined styles that convey their traits. With that, the story is really brought to life in a visually stunning way. The music is solid too, and the voice acting is tight.
All of these amazing things are part of something that happens in what would be a single episode of an an…

To cut a short story even shorter!
- A beautifully fluently anime with A+ piercing skills to break through even the 1-tier sceptics so it can gently caress their coal-black souls and make them just a tiny bit hyped ;)
Is this one anime episode special? No not really. Is it an awesome plot? No it has more cliffhangers than your average Lost episodes. Well what makes it good then? oh boy now you are asking the right question ;)
To be fair Little witch academia 2013 does not bring anything new to the table, nothing at all, you have your classic plain and clumsy protagonist who screws up the most simplest things and who is your average underdog.... etc etc... the protagonist somehow still manage to be the hero of the day, giving us the hope that the ugly duckling is a hidden beautiful swan..…

Little Witch Academia pulled a fast one on me. I saw this on Netflix about a year and a half ago (if not longer) and thought "Oh man, that anime looks freaking sweet." When my friends demanded I present them with a new show for us to watch together, I pulled up My List and clicked on the engaging poster, bursting with enough style to surely last at least 13 episodes. PSYCHE! THAT'S THE WRONG NUMBER! It was one piece, a twenty-six minute short film that left me incredibly disappointed.
Because I wanted to watch it for HOURS.
I haven't done the math, but if a film can cram more life and character into less than half an hour of running time than an twenty-six episode series can with its entire length, it's probably pretty good. Little Witch Academia is an absolute delight, pure entertainmen…

Warning possible Spoilers
For something that was only 26 minutes long I was actually pretty impressed with Trigger and considering I'm a Harry Potter this felt like a very nice parody of it.
The story is about 3 witches called Akko, Sucy and Lotte who always end up in trouble with the magic they cause at Luna Nova Magical Academy and this time is no exception.
Now for 26 minutes this one episode was able to show me that you can make a Magical School that isn't Hogwarts and make it fun, the characters despite how dysfunctional they are were really funny and pretty much has a message that with teamwork and determination you can conquer any problems like what happened here where a giant monster was unleashed and it took the 3 Witches brains and teamwork to beat it.
The characters were act…

Watched it with a friend. Never actually watched the series. So, had to make it out within just 26 minutes. Well, a great "movie" (OVA would have been more appropriate, but, never mind). The animation was fantastic, so colorful, yet so simple. Absolutely loved the animation. Character development... they could have worked a little more into that. The story was like just another OVA (I'm not saying it's bad. It's just that, there was no "movie feel" to it). It's quite enjoyable, the animation would surely bring a big smile, it would make you laugh at times and deliver everything you expect from LWA.
The story was rushed. It was so much fast-paced. They call it a movie, so, they could have made it longer digging more into character development part instead of rushing. That's all that was n…

Story
While the story did may a 'special performance' for an intro which was spectacular in it's own way it was... what's the word... flat. A girl, a dream, an accomplishment. There is nothing fancy. There were just some moments that could have been expanded on to make it more entertaining. Like the silent eavesdropper who hid in the shadow makes more of a reveal. Or better yet there is a feature done that relates back to the intro for a conclusion. Because the current conclusion is about the same as the introduction. The nice lights, the stage, the dr____, hopefully you get the idea. The main difference were the seats. Although, it did have a nice little message of never giving up on your dreams.

I'll try and keep this short and simple.
Story (8) - It was a simple story, which is refreshing to watch. A young girl goes after her aspirations because of an idol and it's her struggle. Although I have seen this story before, its execution made it stand out.
Art (9) - One word. Fluid. While watching, I couldn't help but stare at the fluid animation and bright colors (especially in the beginning.) I felt satisfied by the end of it, which is always good.
Character (9) - There's really not much to say here. The characters are likable in their own way, which I've come to appreciate a lot. I really liked Diana's character, though, don't know why.
Enjoyment (9) - I enjoyed watching a short and sweet movie. I'm saying it again, but it was really refreshing to watch.
Overall (8) - Overall,…

Honestly, Little Witch Academia doesn't seem to have anything that's all that special. A young girl idolizing a famous witch, wanting to become like her, and somehow being able to use some really powerful technique due to the inspiration she feels from said witch is not very original. This anime was enjoyable none the less, despite it only being a 26 minute movie to start. The action was done pretty well and the dragon had a cool design, which is a huge plus because dragons are my favorite mythological creature.
The soundtrack wasn't necessarily special either, but it also didn't have a lot of time to shrine and it fit the tone of story very well. The sound quality didn't seem to be up to par for a 2013 anime, but it went well with the old time witch story feeling.
The characters didn't…
