Spy x Family Movie: Code: White

Spy x Family Movie: Code: White

Introduction

Loid Forger, an elite spy, is warned by his handler that he may potentially be reassigned from his ongoing mission, Operation Strix. To maintain his position, he must make significant progress toward the operation's objectives, which involves having his adoptive daughter Anya earn sufficient Stella Stars to become an Imperial Scholar at Eden Academy. After learning of a cooking contest that awards the winning student with a Stella Star, Loid researches the judge's preferred dessert to help increase Anya's odds. However, perfectly recreating the judge's favorite meremere requires more than just following a recipe. Thus, the Forgers embark on a vacation to the Frigis region to try an authentic meremere. Not all goes smoothly on the trip, as the Forger family ends up entwined in a sinister plot to reignite war between the countries of Ostania and Westalis. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

This felt like a fun extended adventure for the Forgers rather than just another episode. The story takes the family on a trip that quickly turns into another chaotic mission. I loved how Anya's innocence, Loid's overthinking and Yor's incredible fighting ability all come together. The movie doesn't take itself too seriously, and that makes the ridiculous situations even more fun. The animation looks great, especially during the action scenes, and there are plenty of funny family moments. The story isn't particularly deep, but that's not really why I watched it. I just wanted to see the Forgers have another crazy adventure, and it delivered.

It’s a great anime to watch with the family—literally. It doesn't maintain the same consistency as the anime series; the themes feel heavily exaggerated just to fill the runtime, and the outcome of the entire airplane sequence was predictable—you know exactly where it’s heading. I understand that this is typical for movies, but not every film follows this kind of script. I wouldn't recommend going to the theater alone to see it; it’s better watched with others or at home with the family. I believe that die-hard fans of the series or manga will want to watch it, even though the plot is quite linear and over-the-top.

The entire movie feels weird and extremely off, and the talk of poop is extremely excessive. I understand the message but it still felt gross to have part of a show dedicated to it. I like the main series but if I watched this movie before season 3 came out instead of when I committed to watching it after, I wouldn't have paid season 3 any mind. I prefer to pretend this movie didn't exist. I'm sure some will still like it for the family dynamics, those are always present, but for this early on the spy, assassin, telepath thing get far too close for them to not immediately know something is up. it doesn't follow the main story line well at all.

Very skipable. The first half was somewhat entertaining, but then it only gets worse. Feels like a studios attempt to reel in new viewers for the anime, but does none of the things that make the anime lovable and emphasizes all of its flaws. It also stretches what could have been 2 episodes into a nearly 2-hour movie. They tried to squeeze in every character and plot from the anime (to show off to potential new viewers), but ended up just forcing them in somehow, making everything feel disconnected and like it's just there so it's there. There's no point to the non-main characters, they just kind of appear long enough so you know they exist, leaving you to wonder why they're even there in the first place. There's absolutely no stakes - this is a problem sometimes in the anime, but so muc…

It's standard Spy x Family. It had some cool and funny parts, but nothing stood out too much to me overall. I understand it's not meant to be groundbreaking per say, just a side story movie. I guess that's just not what I can get excited for in this show. There was some questionable part as well that felt a bit too immature. I mean, it's a movie so there's not much to comment on without getting into spoilers. You get what you'd expect from a standard Spy x Family story, but nothing too exciting. Overall I'd say it's a pass unless you really want some extra content. Not the worst way to spend an hour-ish I'd say.

You won't really appreciate this movie unless you're already a fan of the anime itself. It's decently good but it doesn't really add anything new to the Spy x Family formula. The plot is relatively straightforward and the comedy is still there. Think of it as a typical Spy x Family episode stretched as a 1.45 hour film. Anya still does a great job at making certain moments hilarious. The plot is your typical family vacation to location X. So, Becky, Desmond, and Eden College won't be featured as much. Overall, it's a worthwhile movie if you can't wait for Season 4 but want more Spy x Family content.

Story: 6/10 The plot is very straightforward and doesn't deviate from the simplicity that made the show alluring and easy to follow. The movie was just a bit too long though. Characters: 7/10 I have a soft spot for Yor (who's a badass) and Fiona (underrated), and the former really stole the spotlight this time. Animation: 7/10 Solid work. One Punch-Man could actually learn a few things from their action scenes. Music: 5/10 The ending theme song was okay, but the rest was pretty forgettable. Enjoyment: 6/10 The last 30 minutes were really fun. Overall: 6/10 Watch if you're a fan of the anime/manga.

As someone who watches anime dubbed, I really enjoyed the voice acting in season 1 and 2. The series did a very good job of keeping the voices a little more dialed back than the typical hammed up performances that can definitely be grating. The voices were endearing and were part of why i fell in love with the series, I loved dubbed Anya's "ootings" and Loid's perseverating. However, when my partner and I watched the movie- we were unable to finish it. The voices were all wrong, cadence had been messed up, characters didn't read like themselves. Deliveries felt robotic and overall, the charm wasn't present like it had been before. My partner and I were left baffled. We asked each other, genuinely, if the voices had been heavily edited or if AI had been used. It was to the point that we ha…

I saw this movie in the cinema back when it came out. It was just good enough to not be dissatisfied; It was not fantastic. But considering what Spy x Family is, it was entertaining enough to warrant a trip to the cinema- plus I did not mind supporting the franchise. That said, there was little evident in the animation that this was movie budget. At least not until the very end. The movie was a fun little detour in between seasons. But I would not say that it was worth paying money for. Now that you can watch it for free, it's all good. You also don't need to see this movie just to escape FOMO. You're perfectly fine skipping it if you're just here for the core plot.

I highly recommend any family to watch this, even if they don't know what anime is. In my opinion the movie is a very big success after the 2 seasons. It is much longer and much more enjoyable because it is a movie not an episode. The details and sounds are pretty good too. Comedy is good in here. Situations and moments are on the roof. Many great scenes and moments where things are happening simultaneously. I really liked the movie, very good comedy and action scenes. I don't know what to say more, I'm bad at writing reviews I guess? 9/10 for me

Code White film is a filler film for Spy x Family. As has to be the case for filler films, this doesn’t actually advance the plot or character arcs in any meaningful way. However, it’s still a pretty fun time and that’s what matters. The basic premise is that the Forger’s go on a trip but Anya ends up doing something that gets her targeted by the military and thus Loid and Yor have to save her from an airship. The first half is a bit slow in that it introduces a bunch of plot elements without it being clear at all what exactly they mean or how exactly they’ll fit into the story, but the comedy is enough to keep it enjoyable. The second half gets intense with both Loid and Yor having to really show their stuff in order for them to make it out okay. So far in the series the writing has been…

I really love this fiction, it's good and emotional and funny. Of course, there are exaggerated aspects, but sometimes I think that's the funny part. Maybe my only regret is that Yor and Loid are never connected. I know it makes sense, they both have completely different realities in their minds, but I love the Forger family so much that it's hard to watch this series without wanting them to be a real family. Of course, if they were in love, it would probably weaken the intrigue of the fiction, but maybe they'll give us a little scene in the finale where we see them as a happy family when it's all over and peace is restored. I don't have high hopes, but... I was a bit skeptical about the movie, I didn't watch it in the theater because I thought it wouldn't be a good movie to watch, but if…

Idk if it's only me but I fell like Yor got an upgrade in this movie and Loid got nurfed , I mean Yor seems smarter she thinks in fights and make strategy also no injury at all in the series it was clear that she has the same iq as Anya and got a lot of bad injuries but not the same in the movie and Loid is weak and doesn't think as much as usual he doesn't make strategies just just hope for the best and his combat is clearly weaker than usual , he wasn't physically as strong as Yor but he had some strength but here he hit only the weak points and joints. Well overall it was a good movie plot a lot better than the series.

This is what season two needed. Spy x Family finally embraces subtly, baking up this show into a sweet treat, mixing the film with the already grounded themes of family connection in a cold war espionage world, into an action-packed, explosively festive joy on the same proportions as Die Hard. It's a fiery movie that gets a lot of what the show does beautifully even more elegantly. It's clear as day this is the best thing to come out of the series, condensing everything about the show into a standalone movie anyone can enjoy. For one, we finally get the authoritarian military commander who rules through fear, something that was absolutely needed in this show. The art direction in the film is outstanding! Wit Studio and CloverWorks showcase exceptional improvement within their own experim…

I can only sum up this movie like this; give me my 2 hours back It's absolutely skippable. You can consider it filler if you want. More Spy Family slice of life and that's about it. It's a self contained story that doesn't really change, add or remove anything from the main plot. They just wanted to make something to cash in more on the 'story". Good points: - Anya's faces were the highlight of the movie for me. Very funny, cute and derpy - Some action scenes were decent (just don't expect Demon Slayer quality) Bad points: - It's filler, nothing important happens for the story If you really just want more slice of life with Anya, watch it. If you just want to keep up with the main story, movie is completely skippable.

If you enjoy the anime for the family dynamics, which is arguably the main "catch" for the series, the film will fall short. The art and technical aspects of the film are all good; the production is noticeably higher than that of the anime series. But certain plot elements are ridiculous to a degree even the TV chapters do not dare go. The main characters' powers are too convenient and overexaggerated in the movie to a point it's difficult to hold the same suspension of disbelief that the TV series managed to create. The plot sadly does not revolve around each character's unique traits and secrets (super spy, professional assassin, telepathy), it just uses these traits for gags and plot convenience. Yor's final battle is cool, but adds nothing to the story. Loid wasn't on any particular…

I don't know why people want this to be canon lol. There's nothing wrong with enjoying the movie as a spin-off. Fans get to see silier versions of the characters while movie-only viewers get to see the events that made the series what it was (albeit in a slightly different light). All this without the series needing to justify any continuity errors, repeat scenes or characters acting out of character. That said, I didn't enjoy this movie as much as I thought I would. It felt different enough from the series that I couldn't help feeling a bit put off. I can't quite pinpoint why though as I don't think it's due to any particular scene. More like the general feel of the movie.

So I have finally gotten around to this movie. I wouldn't say that I was excited at the announcement but I still planned to watch it. After seeing it I was pleasantly surprised. The animation is of course as good as the regular show, if not even better. Just what to expect from Spy Family. The OST was good. Nothing that felt to me that they had taken the next level. It was fitting and you can not really go wrong with Official HIGE DANdism. Having Gen Hoshino back for the ending was also a nice touch. The story is the main reason I think holds it back. It might just be that the Spy Family stories feel a bit bland to me. The characters were really enjoyable, but other than that the plot was just ok to me. Laying out stakes that didn't feel realistic to the Spy Family franchise felt a bit…

Code: White is a fun and beautiful movie that I really, really loved. The story focuses mainly on the dynamics within the Forger family, with small guest appearances from various important side characters. It's not a realistic story, but Spy x Family has never pretended to be realistic, and in doing so the movie frees itself to be simultaneously comedic yet emotional, light-hearted yet also dramatic. It goes wild with unexpected plot beats, crazy scenes, and touching moments, all for what's ostensibly a slice-of-life anime. Every aspect of this film was stellar, from the sound design to the voice acting to the animation. Seriously, the animation was exceptional. Besides the great action cinematography, various creative shots and the general fluidity and liveliness of the animation, they a…

I will continue to be in the vocal minority of not enjoying, liking, or seeing the appeal of the Spy x Family series. I am so glad that I watched this for free on anime website, instead of wasting my hard earned money to see this in a movie theater. This isn't a "if you don't like it, then do watch it" type of deal. This is more so of an idea that you are seeing too many people being blinded by piss poor character arcs, a not well rounded out supporting cast with the exception of Fiona. To say well this anime is what you could recommend to a new anime fan. No the hell it is not, wake up people for the love anime WAKE THE HELL UP. This movie was a glorified episode of Spy x.Family, added with toilet humor. In what day and age do we still need toilet humor is our animes, OVAs, ONAs, movies,…
