Season 3 feels like the Forger family has finally become a little more than just a fake family, and that’s what I enjoyed most.
I really liked seeing more of Anya, Loid and Yor’s everyday lives while the bigger spy story continues in the background. Anya is still the heart of the show for me, and her reactions to everything remain hilarious. Loid and Yor also get more moments where their feelings for the family start becoming harder to ignore.
The series still balances comedy, action and wholesome family moments really well. Some episodes are slower and more focused on everyday life, but I honestly don't mind that because the characters are fun to spend time with.
The animation remains colorful and expressive, and the action scenes still look great when they appear. What keeps the show…

The third season of Spy x Family sacrifices humor for unremarkable action. There's less Slice-of-Life comedy here than there are half-written East-West plotlines and throwaway WISE missions. There's violence, there's danger, but not a lot of Spy x Family. The show tries to be more action-thriller than what it was originally intended for -- which is SoL comedy. And it seems that the episodes are lacking in that department. Instead of Eden college misadventures, we get tragic backstories. Instead of Yor's kitchen nightmares, we get a villain with a lackluster objective. The East-West politics and counter-espionage narratives have always been used to deliver the show's punch-line. So, it's understandable that they lack depth. But now that Endo is using that pattern for two major story arcs, t…

Spy × Family is maturing into something more serious. Loid’s past adds layers of complexity and reminds us of the cost of living in a world shaped by constant war, espionage, and human experimentation. The narrative scales up in a way that finally lets you see what was always there, but easy to overlook: the war itself.
The interesting part is that the anime never hides it, but now it feels real—and that feeling doesn’t come for free. Real losses and conflicts begin to push Loid into questioning himself.
The family starts to feel more organic, more valued by Loid and Yor, slowly turning into something real.
The tone remains intact, but the humor no longer shields the viewer. What makes the progression stand out is that it never abandons its comedy, but instead builds an ongoing tension—…

Hmm. I expected watching this to be better than watching clouds go by, and I wasn't disappointed. Actually on a second thought, I was watching it on my morning tram rides to work, and on some days i just couldn't be bothered and stared out the window listlessly instead.
The Anya episodes are goofy, but not overly so. The spy episodes are rather formulaic, but some of them are mildly interesting. There is a dearth of family episodes.
The anti-war messaging is extremely infantile and trite. Perhaps a low-IQ person or a literal child would find it appealing.
Yor Forger is an extremely hot waifu, but she is being flanderised, starting to be a bit too autistic and goofy.
I would still recommend it, I guess it is still far better than average.

The third season of Spy x Family is just as goofy as the other two. Now, after watching the second season you might not believe it, but something actually happens in this one ! Yes, it’s actually kind of rewarding to finish this season.
Maybe it’s just me but for the first few episodes something felt different about the art. Either way I can’t quantify it so it’s not worth anything, and I’ve already described the art in more detail in the other two reviews so I won’t here, it’s really just your run of the mill stuff. I appreciate the colour palette though I find it charming. The music is a similar story, decent but not memorable.
I don’t read manga but I imagine reading Spy x Family must be a nightmare because there’s so many digressions and so much filler (as experienced in season 2) h…

Oh man things get real with this one
Spy x Family continues at the same pace it has the previous two seasons, with this season I say focusing more on the center point of one character, that being Loid, and exploring his humble beginnings while showing more aspects of the war in the past, something we only ever heard of and really never saw, or felt it's real ramifications. If you read my reviews you know I break them down into five categories so here we go.
1. Story (1.5/2) - The overall story of Spy x Family has always been about family, and coming together. However, this season focuses more on the darker side of tearing them apart, or what happens when we lose a love one. Trust me, if you are an anime only, this gets in some dark emotional feels, and a good selection of it is not the n…

Season 3 of Spy x Family seriously did not disappoint it actually leveled up! The mix of action, comedy, and wholesome family vibes is still on point, making every episode super fun to watch.
The story feels more solid this time. The relationship between Loid, Yor, and Anya hits even harder not just funny, but also surprisingly heartwarming. Anya is still the MVP with her chaotic but adorable moments, while Loid and Yor start showing more of their human side.
Animation wise? Super clean. Smooth visuals, great action scenes, and really detailed expressions that make the comedy land even better.
The humor is still fresh and doesn’t feel forced. Even the simple moments can be hilarious. The pacing is just right too not rushed, but never boring.
Overall, this season is the full package: fu…

Heartwarming, pleasant, and funny as always—but it’s also the same formula we’ve been getting since Season 1. This season is just as good as the previous ones in terms of entertainment, yet the characters don’t really move forward. Operation Strix is still at the same point, and the family’s dynamic hasn’t changed much despite three seasons. The only real additions are new characters for more gags.
After three seasons, I expected some development—maybe Loid slowly catching feelings or some real progress in the spy mission. Instead, we mostly get more funny scenarios. Don’t get me wrong, they’re entertaining. But the story feels stuck in a comfort zone where nothing major progresses, even though it keeps the audience engaged.
Recommendation
I still recommend this season for its entertainm…

Spy x Family season 3 is yet another entry into the wacky espionage comedy/thriller taking the world by storm that, for some reason, people can’t seem to be normal about when they don’t like it. Unfortunately, I must at least present some arguments in their favor this time around with this being my least favorite season to date. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a solid showing in terms of multi-season shounen action anime. The countless character acting flourishes gives this series a unique sense of polish rarely seen even in high-level productions, the spy thriller elements are just as entertaining as they’ve always been, and when the comedy lands, it’s really solid. I’m also becoming more and more intrigued by Damian and whatever fractured home life is being hinted at through the contradic…

Spy x Family has always been consistently good. Even with previous seasons having some plot points/episodes that weren't too engaging, the stronger stories were able to carry it. This season has some of, if not the strongest stories of the series.
Spy x Family has usually been of lighter fare, even though it touches on serious topics. This season toes the line of overstepping the tone you expect when you watch this series, but pulls back when it needs to, to keep it not too heavy. I was quite invested in many of the arcs this season.
As usual, the animation is great, as well as the character design. Really good season that moves forward the story in admittedly smaller, but still impactful way. I recommend it of course.

“SPY x FAMILY” has done it again; with a mix of heartfelt family antics and a heartbreaking background setting, if you loved the first two seasons, season three continues to offer the same greatness.
There are two places where this season in particular shines, however. The first is in two of the main arcs (which present themselves in the latter half of the season). I won’t get into the details to avoid spoilers, but one of them centers Anya and the other Loid, and both are fantastic. While it is often easy to get lost in the “FAMILY” aspect of the show, this season never lets you forget that the two main countries in this story are in the midst of an intense cold war.
The second place of note is in the new characters that are introduced this season. For example, we finally get to meet…

I wasn't expecting anything but boredom from this new season, and perhaps that's precisely why I found it... alright. It's not bad, but it's far from exciting either. The overall feeling is that the series has already delivered its most interesting parts and is now going in circles, too comfortable in its own formula.
Honestly, I'm quite tired of this show. At this point, the story has practically stopped progressing, and the series has fully embraced an episodic sitcom structure, focused on isolated situations of comedy and cuteness. This isn't necessarily a flaw—it's clear that it works for audiences who like this type of narrative, but it's definitely not something I enjoy that much. There's a lack of real progression, a lack of consequences, and a lack of that feeling that the episode…

It's just a continuation of the previous series so you can expect what was already present. But the story takes a bit more serious turn and focuses a bit on the past and background story of certain characters. It does move story forward quite a bit with new opportunities.
Star system and the Thunderbolt system are still continuing to be a disappointing, because of the reasons they are obtained with.
Plenty of laughs even with the darker episodes.
The darker episodes show the reality and cruelty of war, it is a very good showcase of how pointless and brutal the wars are for no reason. Glad it continues to be an anti war anime. Showing that the greed and ambition of a few cost many their most precious valuable thing they have - their life.

Season two was decent, but I enjoyed this season much more. As usual, everything in this anime regarding production is top-notch. The animation is smooth, the action scenes are great, the soundtrack is amazing, and the voice acting is excellent.
We get to know more about Twilight’s life, and the anime once again leans into some genuinely funny and also epic moments. My only complaint is that Lloyd and Yor’s relationship barely changes. They act like teenagers when they should be acting like actual adults. However, the status quo means we can still enjoy Anya and her antics, as well as Yor’s and Lloyd’s incredibly dangerous missions while saving the world and trying to keep their strange family together.

Is it still good? Yes.
I like the cast as always and Anya is still the 'best' daughter. But something felt wrong this time. It felt a bit stale. At this point I feel I am watching a filler show. Good fillers but fillers nonetheless. I mean what was the end goal of the show? To infiltrate Donovan Desmond's family? This is such a low level goal compared to the say "find the One Piece". But I accepted it as it was a very lighthearted show to begin with.
But now this plot has dragged on for three seasons! I kind of think Loid should just infiltrate somehow wearing a mask and get all the info he needs that way. Somehow he can wear a mask and become someone else; like Ethan Hunt does in the Mission Impossible movies. The goal should have been met by seasons 1 or 2. Yet even in season 3 its no…

For me, this season was the peak. After S1, I never thought it could top that, but this season the story and pacing were both perfect. This season had real talks about war, rebellion, terrorism and some great spy action at the last.
Is the story unique?
Yes the story is unique, it has nice suspense buildup and plot twists.
Do you think the art style is fitting for the story?
Yes, the studio behind this has done a great job from S1.
Were the characters well-rounded?
All the characters are explored, their dynamics has also progressed a lot. Do you think others will enjoy this series?
This anime can be enjoyed by people of all kinds at any setting. Spyfam is a very unique anime and keeping it so good even in its third season is a feat. Most animes couldn't develop its story after first s…

This season feels --- different. There are multiple serious topics were touched on and the overall tone of this season is heavy, heavy through out the season.
The serious subjects were introduced in a very smooth fashion and the transition is seamlessly... they don't feel out of the place at all, in fact, the subtle delivery and the 'Madoka effect'(unexpected change of tone) made those heavier moment hit even harder than a lot 'serious' shows. It let the story and the details do the talking, so no preachy or edgy feeling at all.
Although this season still follows the Spy x Family's formula, season 3 is definitely less light-hearted and less Happy. The heavier and more serious tone is not necessarily a bad thing, because I still enjoyed this season quite a lot, but I would also understand…

The show continues to follow along at the same cadence people would expect. A little bit of slice of life, mixed with a little bit of comedy, sprinkle in some action and a pinch of an intense moment or two and that's basically the makings of a season.
This season dove into the back story of Loid a little bit before giving way to the kids again. I kind of hope next season goes into Yor and maybe by extension Yuri a little bit more. I continue to think the show does a really good job of capturing the essence of childhood considering the circumstances when Anya, Damian and Becky are on screen. I really enjoy the dynamic and I think a lot of that is the way the innocence and also immaturity is inserted from time to time. Not to say its all "kiddy" when they are on screen and this season sure…

Plot-wise, this season is much stronger than season two. Season two felt filler-heavy and made me forget how engaging the first season was—and even what the story was really about. Let’s not forget that this anime was originally presented as an adult-oriented series, not a kids’ show, and season two fell short in that regard.
This season, however, has slowly steered the story back on track, and I hope they continue focusing on meaningful progress. Loid and Anya were great this season. Yor, she is a beautiful woman and wife to have, but she’s starting to get slightly annoying. The running gag of her messing up cooking for the 20th time just isn’t funny anymore. I didn’t laugh once. I’m not sure whether they’re trying to parody the modern woman who can’t cook or if it’s just lazy humor, bu…

This season is the best one since Part 1, which gave us a great beginning. After two calm seasons that felt more like Anya’s daily-life episodes, the series returned with an excellent season focused on the main story.
I will summarize the season Review through three main events:
Lloyd’s past
It was well written. We learned about his motives and the reason behind his mysterious nature. The most prominent part was the big question: What does it mean to fight? What am I fighting for? Am I truly the “good” side and the enemy the “bad” one? Isn’t that exactly what the other side believes too?
The bus hijacking
This was an excellent arc because Lloyd and Yor did not directly intervene. All the characters contributed to resolving the crisis, which gave the side characters like Becky and Damian…
