Towanoquon: The Ephemeral Petals

Towanoquon: The Ephemeral Petals

Introduction

Living amongst the rest of humanity, there is a small number of people known as "Attractors" that possess strange powers. Fearful of these dangerous mutations, a highly secretive organization named Custos uses cyborgs from a group called WTOC to exterminate Attractors before they can injure anyone or disrupt the social order. Conversely, inside the theme park Fantasium Garden, there is a hidden group of Attractors who want to save their people from being eradicated by Custos. Led by the ever-optimistic Quon Mitsuchi, the Attractors take on intense fights against Custos's WTOC in the hopes of protecting the existence of their kind. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

i'll keep it short...it an average one,as 1step..noone explains anything.maybe the years it was produced the emo era was on trend idk,so u have to understand their actions without words or by small vague talk..still after watching t all u get the premise amd everything..superpowers,dark side of opressors who try to keep the safety of citizens by subduing our mc and his friends(cliche check x2)..side characters with no substance,"villains" edgy enough who want to keep order, and basically nothing else..tbh for me the only saving point for this was the animation, and the action scenes..still i cant judge for all of the series,i have yet to watch the sequel(s)..but by the 1st one so far, dissapointed tbh..i gave a 6 bcz of animation wich is good..

I think I wanted to write a review in defense of this because it's so harmless. I think a lot of the action segments were cool to look at and while the writing isn't in-depth by any measure of the word (I think the main character should of had his motivations more fleshed out in this movie) it is not THAT bad. This isn't a full length movie either with it being about 50 minutes. I treated this like a superhero movie. The story is not that good and the characterization was shallow but it's whatever it's dumb, it's fun, there is no reason for it to exist but it is still entertaining. Overall I think it's slightly above average when compared to other freaks of work that animanga as a whole has to offer you.

tl;dr: A pretty generic action anime that’s still pretty enjoyable due to pretty good execution in the second half. Towanoquon is an original anime, by which I mean it is not an adaptation of anything, composed of six movies. Each movie is 48 minutes long, so the total contents of the entire series are about equal to that of a single cour. The plot is centered Attractors, people that suddenly gain supernatural powers and have a tendency to go berserk. The protagonist, Quon, is an Attractor and the leader of a secret group who’s goal is to find and protect them. But there’s also an organization known as Custos that sends out a group of cyborgs known as WTOC to eliminate them. This inevitably results in violent clashes. Overall, this anime is pretty generic with nothing really popping out…

This was absolutely awful. I made it to the end of part 2 and gave up. I tried to give this an honest chance because it had so many good reviews, but I'm actually stunned and confused on HOW... The dull character personalities, zero reason for viewer connection and lack of tension in action scenes/plot 'developments' (feels like too much credit to even call them that) made watching this the equivalent of dragging my feet through glass in an attempt to reach, what I can only assume, is a non existent destination. The only thing that could've made it worse is if the male MC had frequent, inappropriately timed and distracting magical girl scout transformation sequences.... Oh.. *wait*. (Spoiler: he did). I don't know how I make the repeated sin of trusting MAL reviews, yet here I am. Save…

What could've been an extreamly interesting story was reduced to 50 minutes of utter crap You have incredible powers, unexplored tech, and a dynamic between two sides so tense it could snap in an instant, all of which could've been used to create an immersive world ready to suck you in with no way you would want out, but instead none of it is explained or connected in the slightest, leaving the audience on the sideline baffled as to what on earth is going on The characters just make the nonsensical nonexistent plot that much worse Every character that appears is eaither extreamly flat or annoying AF The award of most annoying characters go to Yuri, who's very very frustrated, and Miu, who spends half the movie doing a terrible impression of Puu from Yu Yu Hakusho And Quon, Quon who's su…

This Anime is essentially X-men, except with generic powers, characters and story. Seriously you're better off reading the X-Men. The art, animation and sound in this anime are top notch. The budget clearly went toward that cause everything else is so damn average. It doesn't help the fact that the action sequences are far and few between cause the rest of the Anime is boring exposition and info dumps with bland forgettable characters and this goes for ALL the films 1 through 5 are just mostly snooze fests. I Literally I cannot remember a single character from these movies. Not even what they look like, hell I can't even remember a single one of those well animated action sequences and that is really sad cause they were the only reason why I stuck it out through all 5 films. Even after tha…

This is a review for the whole movie series and should be taken as such. Tell me if you have heard this premise before, an organization of super-powered teenagers/children that are in hiding have to combat and rebel against an authoritarian task force created to weed out super-humans with lethal enforcement. if you thought this show is the X-Men you'd be kind of right. this show is basically an X-men clone. if it were to make enough interesting deviations from the formula I might have given it a higher score. but the only real selling point of the show is the animation AND BY GOD IS THE ANIMATION IMPRESSIVE IN THESE MOVIES. If you have seen One-Punch Man or Death Parade its on that level of animation at points. also despite the lack of originality, the exciting fights and easy to follow s…

--------------------------Review contains minor spoilers--------------------------------------------------- Plot- In a futuristic Tokyo, unique human beings who have awakened distinct powers are being hunted by a secret organization named Custos. Known as "Attractors", these exceptional humans are joining forces to defend themselves. They are led by a boy named Quon, an idealist who is determined to save all the Attractors he can. - This series is more like Japanese X-men version. Almost everything seems similar, mutants hiding in a special place getting trained and educated, how to control their powers etc. Quon is the main character or you can say Professor x of the series, he is determined to save all the "Attractors" and to put them at the right path. He has the ability to sense oth…

This is my first review and I'm not really sure how to write this but ill try to... I should say this first: Towa no quon, despite the pretty good character design, art, and action scenes, did not reach my expectations. The story was the usual cliche: powerful boy tries to save everyone from bad guys. There weren't anything unexpected for me. The art was pretty nice, the characters looked great, the amusement park looked cool. So not much criticism on that one. I didn't have the sound on, so I can't comment on it. The characters were the worst of the lot. They, especially Quon, looked good but the personalities were just dull. Especially Quon. I read another review that said all Quon says is "I want to save everyone." Watched the anime. So true. The whole "saving people thing" was about 50…

People with suddenly awakening superhuman powers? Check. A shadowy organization, run by a circular table of cryptic old men, that hunts these newly awakened superhumans? Check. A small alliance of superhumans hiding in plain sight, fighting against persecution by rescuing the awakened ones before they're caught, lead by an experienced veteran (named Quon) with a colorful past? Check, check, check. To be blunt, there's hardly an ounce of originality in the entire series of Towa no Quon films. It whips out numerous ideas from past tales of heroes and villains, and doesn't even have the decency to arrange them in a unique manner. It's worth noting that an abundance of cliches should never be thought of as an automatic death sentence—sometimes a strong delivery is enough to breathe life into u…

(This review goes to all parts of the movie series.) Now, here’s a thing that I never noticed in most recent anime before and that is called the Movie Series……now this is definitely different from the term “OVA” as in movie series are released theatrically while OVAs are direct-to-video. Many examples of anime movie series include Kara No Kyōukai (or The Garden of Sinners), Broken Blade & Mobile Suit Gundam UC Unicorn. The film series is directed by Umanosuke Iida, known for directing anime such as Devilman, Vandread, Hellsing (the original one), Mobile Suit Gundan: The 08th MS Team & Shangri-La. Unfortunately, before the movies were released, he passed away of lung cancer at the age of 49 in 2010, and that’s the same year that Satoshi Kon passed away from pancreatic cancer..…..OK, let’s…

I came into Towa no Quon 1 with almost any expectations, having been linked to its page from another random anime I was viewing at the time. When I saw that it was a 6 part mini-movie series, and in the action genre as well, my interest was piqued. Katanagatari uses a similar 50 minutes per episode run-time, and the art and action in that had impressed me so well that I felt confident a new series with the same set up might as well, despite the different setting. This first episode isn't quite up to par with the greatness of that other series, but it serves as an acceptable introduction to what I hope will be an above-average anime. Towa no Quon 1 starts off displaying its greatest strength - action. In the very first scenes we are introduced to our two main competing factions in the stor…

First of all i would like to say i am not that fond of action animes,i am more like the peaceful type.So when i first saw this i wasn't that interested but it took only the first movie to change my mind. I am writing this review based on the whole series. Story(10): i don't like to give 10 to any anime because that would be too disrespectful to the masterpieces.I had no choice cause the plot is not that much but unique nonetheless. On the light this is a story about two sides fighting for their own ideals. In one sides the attractors who has awakened supernatural powers and unable to control their powers that much and causing harm to the others around them fighting for their survival and wanting to live.On the other hand we have cyborg teams who are victims of the attractors directly or indi…

The last couple of years have spawned some anime series that ditched the usual 20-minute episode format in favor of longer episodes. ‘Break Blade’, ‘Kara no Kyokai’ and ‘Katanagatari’ all released new installments that were (at least) double the length of a typical anime episode up to and including feature length films. Upsides to this approach are that the production values tend to be much higher and that the longer format allows for more deliberate pacing. The downside is that viewers who follow these series end up waiting a long time between the release of new installments. ‘Towa no Quon’ (TnQ) is a superhero story as well as Studio Bones’ attempt to hop on the bandwagon. How is it? Not bad, actually. It opens with tense sequence involving a shady organization chasing a young boy. Th…
