This OVA is based on the manga "Chivas 1-2-3" by Satoru Akahori and lives in the same world (or is a spin-off) of his "Bakuretsu (Sorcerer) Hunters" manga. It was produced after the "Sorcerer Hunters" manga TV anime adaptation which ran in 1996-97. As such, the same art style and elements used in the "Sorcerer Hunters" TV series were used again for this OVA. I don't really know whether this OVA was intended as a speculative demo for a new TV Series or if it was just made for fun for the manga fans. For those that detest chains or abuse do not be turned off by the introduction of this story. Granted, for despite the brutality illustrated the ending provides a profound message that would be hard to be true if it wasn't for that personality. Put another way, i was able to learn from a genre that i despised that hope is still possible in rainy storms.
I would go in further detail about explaining this anime but i can't get that "Christmas tree oh..." song out of my head! No, it was not mentioned in the showing it is just the Christmas season.
That in mind i wish you all A Merry Christmas or happy holidays. What every you prefer.
Sincerely,
Snapler

For the one´s that seen Bakeretsu hunters (Sorcerer hunters), this is the story what happpened on the other side of spooner continent that ain´t so juicy.
Despite that this oldskool was made in the good ol 90´s when magic-fantasy was quite populair in anime serie´s, ovas, movies or specials, sorcerer on the rocks was notable, but not that special.
But all that does not take away the elements of drama, positive cruelty and comedy context, but still its not for ALL ages.
The storyline itself starts quite ´light´ but evolves itself over time to a point that a unexpected twist reveals it self near the end, wich kept me happy atleast ( no spoilers).
Artwise it looked typical 90´s ( if u were there u are already used to it) with the fullblown colours and all, at parts a bit childish but no animati…
