To this very day, I still don't know what possessed me to start and (tragically) finish this thing. It's awful. The characters, animation, the plot, everything is so bad, it can't be salvaged.
My sister (who didn't watch it) told me "Hey, you should watch it. I found it because I listened to the OP and ED and I liked it" and my stupid 16yo me who just watched anime for the sport of it was like "alright, I'll give it a try" and so I wasted hours of my youth.
I'm grateful that it's been so long since I watched it so I can't remember most of the details, my old brain has done a great work supressing the traumatic memories of this event. That said, the feeling of disgust and rage-filled disappointment are still vivid until this day. No one should sit through this damned thing.
Yeah, this r…

Hiiro no Kakera wasn't terrible, but still one of my least favorite otome.
At first, I was a little interested by the setting and supernatural circumstances that brought the reverse harem together. However, the show wasn't able to utilize it beyond the "protect these certain important items for the fate of the world but then still fail at it" trope. Everything else was just the characters sitting on top of the rooftop talking about stuff. There was also the possibility of a traitor among them, but that's rarely addressed until season two (and don't get me started with how that's resolved).
Next were the characters, and they were really bland. The male leads acted on typical harem archetypes, and the female lead was plain with her only personality trait being "I want to be useful". The i…

The whole series was such a waste of time. I have NEVER been so STRESSED and so FRUSTRATED and so ANNOYED over a female protagonist before. I feel like stabbing myself wasting me time watching this ugh... But, I quite like the guys of the show (especially Mahiro because he reminds me so much of Chuuya from BSD). I know this was an anime adaptation of the visual novel, and a lot of visual novel adaptations are quite... bad. This one wasn't TOO bad, it was okay. Would I recommend it? Yeah if you like hot anime boys and wasting your time.

I can honestly say this is without a doubt the most boring anime I've ever had the pleasure to experience.
The characters are bland, boring, and quite frankly, pathetic. None of them gave anything of value to the story. Their abilities and powers were worthless and with the skills they have in this show I'm surprised they even managed to help at all.
The plot was barely existent. I feel like you could watch the first and last episode and still have a fairly decent idea of what was going on. I don't even understand how the writers managed to create a plot like this.
Getting through this anime was an absolute chore, and I nearly fell asleep so many times while watching. I would not recommend this to anyone I know.

Hiiro No Kakera in my view one of best romance/ drama series. In the very opening with the opening song, to the animation, which features fall season. Which I enjoy a lot because fall is my favourite season. To all the characters in which every male harem I seen I feel some male characters overshadow others, while this one just blend together with the female character. Which is other great fact is lead female character didn't get overshadow either, in fact it was focus on her and her journey. One key ingredient for me to love the show, is me wanting more. I try looking up see it's manga series and sadly there not big series.
I think others will love this series, for the journey each character takes and how they work as kinda of mishap family, and the opening music will make you want to le…

Hiiro no Kakera Season 1 Review
-5/10
I love Reverse Harem. I really do.
That's why I've tried watching it. Romance, Reverse Harem and Historical. A perfect combination for me. So here, this is my review for this Anime.
Plot: 6/10
The concept is okay, I guess. It is quite predictable and there's nothing much to be excited about, honestly. Well yeah, there are some questions in mind that will make you think to watch the next season. But it's 50 50 for me. Though I don't skip what anime I've already started so I will watch it some other time. T is quite difficult to give a review without spoiling anyone so I'll warn you. While this anime focuses on protecting something precious, they keep on losing and ranting on their situation, again and again. It makes me want to forward it to the next s…

Hiiro no Kakera (Seasons 1 & 2) in a word: Forgettable
I can't even tell you the characters names. I knew there was the one chick and a couple guys who had different color hair, and that's basically the gist of this anime. Also I guess they has powers or something to fight fairytale/not fairytale creature things that make the woods 2spooky4them. No romance, no excitement. I kept hoping for a reverse harem battle for love to happen between the guys. Never happened.
When I was watching this, my mind would wander. I would start thinking about tater tots or JFK (who done it) or how to solve world hunger and then I would remember "Oh snap, I forgot I waz watching somethin'." And then I would try to force my attention back onto it. I guess it didn't work since I barely remember anything about…

I loved Hiiro no Kakera! It was amazing. I was a little uncertain at first but after the first few episodes it really got good.
I'm supposed to tell you why I liked it so I'll do my best.
I really like reverse harems. I said that on my profile, so this is about as reverse harem you can get. The main character is really great. Her personality is real and a lot like me. I would do mostly what she did. (I really hate animes that I want to punch the main character in the face for being stupid.)
The romance in this anime is wonderful. I really mean it, although most of it is in the second season, it is still developing from the beginning. And I gave it a nine in enjoyment only because I selfishly wanted there to be just a little more romance in the first season, because I love it so much, and I…

First review...
Story:
Great storyline, poor execution; it would've had more potential if the writers focused on like actual soul searching/demon hunting rather than trying to pair the main girl up with every guy there.
Art:
For an anime made in 2012, it looked early 2000s. I get that they were trying to follow the game style but visually, it didn't stand out much.
Sound: Appropriate OST and sound FX, but not worth looking up any particular song.
Characters:
teenaged girl visits/moves in with her Grandmother only to find out that she's a princess with hidden magical powers and has hot bodyguards but in typical anime fashion, she's kind of clueless and gullible but nonetheless we're supposed to believe that she can save the world or something. The villains don't really have a purpose oth…

I'm going to keep this review short, since the others are a bit longer. I'll just say that the story does take a while to develop, but after about 6 or so episodes, the show really grew on me. After watching the second season as well, I can definitely include this in my favorites because of the fast paced turn it takes as well as the drama that occurs later on. If you plan on watching this one, make sure you watch it all the way through. The best parts are in the second season.

I love reverse harem anime so this was most defiantly on my watch list, a lot of the time I can be disappointed with reverse harem story lines or I don't get everything I want it to be, but this please me giving me nearly everything I expected of it although the story line is very slow and infuriating it is TOTALLY worth it in the end you HAVE to stick through it, it has everything decent plot, romance, nicely animated and pretty plus action, I would defiantly say this is one of the best anime's I've seen in a while.

Ok, first ever review so sorry if it's a bit useless ¬_¬
Story:
I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline. It may have been a little slow-paced but I enjoyed the slow development. There are a few twists and some mystery involved in the story line, although some of it can be pretty predictable. I found it very interesting the way things turned out and there are some exciting events, however the first half of the series can get a bit irratating at times but I thought it was definetly worth it.
Art:
I LOVE the way the characters and scenery is drawn! Everything looked beautiful but not over exaggerated. I am especially fond of the way the characters are drawn. Emotions are conveyed efficiently through the art which creates a more emotive feeling. The only slight down side is the way the gods are dra…

This is my first review ok. Anyways, overall this anime was very good. It's definitely worth a watch. The art, sounds, and characters were outstanding. The only thing that ruined it is that there was no romance..... That's the ONLY thing I didn't like, but I know Takuma had a thing for Tamaki and she likes him. I think they'll be together soon. They had chances to kiss at least you know and I know the story would have to be altered if that happened, but the story would be a lot more enjoyable. ( I'm big on reverse harem with romance lol )

Utter waste of time. It’s like someone just wanted to make an anime without caring about plot, character development, or..well…anything. The ending is absolutely disappointing and reveals nothing. What little story there is builds up to what is expected to be a spectacular ending. They throw hints of mystery and character ties that never get answered. The main characters are constantly complaining about their lives. The heroine is annoying. The characters are forgettable. There isn’t a single redeeming factor about this anime. I give it a 4/10, and that is being extremely forgiving.

Oh my god. This anime is terrible. The story is so drawn out, and its just awful full stop. The character development is bad. If you think they are going to develop into some tough characters they are not. They just get beaten. The ending is also extraordinarily bad.
I can't believe I put myself through this thinking it was going to get better in the end because it didn't
If you are thinking of watching this. Don't. It is really really bad. Possibly one of the worst shows I have watched. The only positive thing I could say about this is the art work which is average. Everything else is extremely poor.

Everyone knows of at least one anime that had the potential to be great, but instead it became a pile of crap, wasting all or most of the potential it had. Well Hiiro no Kakera is yet another title you can add to the list of shows that had potential, but wasted it.
Hiiro no Kakera is an adaption of a bunch of popular otome games that currently remain only in Japan. Adapted by Studio DEEN, who can do plenty wrong, you can guess it's them adapting the games improperly that led to this.
The show starts out with a girl named Tamaki finding out she is to become the Tamayori Princess that takes place after an encounter with a weird creature she can see. However the thing is, the show doesn't bother explaining much about what the Tamayori Princess is, or anything else after this happens, which…

My very first review so please :P
Anyways honestly this entire anime/storyline/plot the whole thing about it, was everything i used to dream of as a child.
Being told one day, you're some important princess that must "save" the world, but in this story she must protect an important seal or this monster will terrorize the world, which is practically the same thing!
And it is a reverse harem, which is a bonus.
But pretty much this is a really beautiful story, i'm going to be sure to check out the manga here right away.
Beautiful opening theme song, it's just really beautiful the whole thing about it. ^_^

I am reminded of the Anime called “Asura Cryin'”. The first season came out in April of 2009 and the second came out in October of 2009. The first season of the Anime actually shares a lot of the problems that “Hiiro No Kakera” happens to have. One of the problems happens to be the fact there were signs that the series had potential but the whole first season falls flat.
However, the second season ended up giving those of us who gave it a chance a pleasant surprise. Similarly “Hiiro No Kakera” has the same potential to possibly wow people with the second season that is supposed to come in October. Of course, it also has the chance of falling flat. Even if the second season turns out to be a pleasant surprise the question of whether or not watching the first season just to watch the secon…

Making an anime based off a visual novel is never easy especially one aimed at a specific target audience, or in this case, the female market. There could be mistakes through adaption, the delivering of the characters, or in other cases, not sticking with the story. There is much to be said regarding what can make an extravagent series out of a visual novel these days especially from a series a game that is not too well known compared to some of the more popular series like FSN, Higurashi, etc. Will Hiiro no Kakera carry out the task of getting through the right audience and deliver a series worth to talk about?
Hiiro no Kakera (also known as Scarlet Fragment) details the story of a young girl named Tamaki who had a peaceful life till one day she learns about the true extents of her origi…
