Introduction
It is the dawn of the 21st century. The cataclysmic earthquake which reduced half of Tokyo to a broken landscape of twisted steel and shattered stone was only the first sign of the impending apocalypse.
Athletic and popular, Isato Kaiza was an otherwise ordinary student. But nothing could've prepared him for the day he was given a Caizer Stone by fellow student Kash , alias Hellstinger. Armed with the mysterious crystal, Isato now possesses the power to transform into the armored hero: Gowcaizer!
To save the Earth, Gowcaizer and Hellstinger must join forces against Omni Exist, the manifestation of all negative human desires, and the force behind the recent disasters, before the entity obliterates the human race!

The other reviews here are way too harsh, so let me give you the real scoop on this forgotten gem. The animation quality and art direction displayed here is great. The colors are rich, and the shadows are dark and weighty. It's not just stills, either. There is some really respectable action sakuga here. We're talking frenetic martial combos, energy and elemental attacks, and beautiful hand-drawn explosions, fires, and smoke. If anything, some of these animations go by a bit too quickly. I had to rewind certain moments and watch again to appreciate how detailed they were. There are some nice backgrounds too - dreamy paintings that bring life to the skies, the ruined city, and some of the central locations. There is a strong sense of style to this anime. It just has a distinct look that set…

I don't drink alcohol, but I want to pretend I was drunk to counter the fact that I was like "No, this actually isn't that bad, and you just don't appreciate classic '90s OVA anime with unique character design and occasionally very good animation. It's a short action piece and you have to confront it similar to how you would look at a kung fu film. Quit being a whiner and go watch your stiff as a board seasonal anime with 3D backgrounds, generic MC, and characters who all look the same other than their swappable rainbow hair." Okay, it actually just sucks. I'll admit it. A rating of 3-4 seems doable if you really appreciate certain aspects, but the pacing and writing are atrocious enough that this does get boring, and boring is not something you want for even a second with a brainless figh…

Masami Obari. Every time I revisit one of your works, I'm reminded of the time I got a second degree burn on my ring finger from touching an overheated lawnmower. I could reach my hand blindfolded in a bucket full of used needles and come out with something more full of substance than Obari's OAV vehicles. He works primarily in hentai now (and those that I've seen aren't good either, like Viper GTS), but before that, Obari spent the 90's wrecking one of my favorite fighting games with Fatal Fury The Motion Picture, a movie that is brazen proof video-based anime are ultimately bad ideas. And then there's Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer, a slightly below mediocre NEO*NEO fighting game so obscure and unaware of its own existence, it might mistake itself for World Heroes 2 Jet when questioned.

Overview:
Few anime are quite as infamously bad as Voltage Fighter Gowkaizer. What is wrong with it? What is RIGHT about it? The art is the worst in the history of anime, the story is terrible, the characters suck, the dub is an absolute joke, the soundtrack is lackluster, EVERYTHING is simply awful!
When comic geeks bring up the topic of the absolute WORST comic artist of all time, it is always a fight between Greg Land and Rob Liefeld. However, anime geeks don't really have an equivalent that all fans universally think is a horrible artist. This is one reason fans of American Comics often dislike Japanese anime and manga. US comic fans believe that the Japanese use a VERY simplistic art style that is easy to draw and the difference in quality between the "worst" and "best" is basicall…

Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer is a 1997 3 episode OVA, that later got made into a whole movie. It was produced by J.C. Staff and directed by Obari Masami, who really doesn't have any major work besides this and quite a good amount of Hentai!
Story:
The basic premise of Gowcaizer is about Isato, an ordinary highschool student that one day receives something called a Caizer stone from one of his classmates with whom he now has to fight the evil power called Omni Exist who basically represents all bad emotions of humanity and threatens to destroy earth. This already showed through several catastrophes that point out that apocalypse is about to happen.
This setting already is where the first huge flaws are to be found! Why you ask? Because the viewer basically doesn't have any idea about it! The…

Let me remind you people, this is a anime out of the late '90s
Let's begin with the story, our main protoganist is given a Caizer Stone. Armed with this mysterious crystal, Isato posseses a power to transform in the hero, Gowcaizer. But for the higher purpose, To save the earth, Gowcaizer and his partner in crime, Hellstinger must fight the evil Omni Exist, a manifestation of all negative desires, and of course the source/force after behind the recent disasters.
It'...s a pretty cool story, they brought it well in this anime, actually nothing to say, except is is a good story.
The art is from a lesser level, but hey, it's old. Aside that it's a pretty good style to draw, the animation is of the "90s" level too, but it's extremely good for that time. Same goes for the sound.
The charact…
