Young GTO

Introduction

Eikichi Onizuka and Ryuji Danma are members of infamous biker duo, the Oni Baku. When not out riding around, they can be found in school, trying to pick up young women. This is the story of the young Onizuka, who would later become the greatest teacher in Japan, and his partner Ryuji in their quest to lose their virginity and reach maturity. They are widely feared bosozoku, and are known for their tenacity and viciousness in a fight. However, this lifestyle does not exactly endear them to the opposite gender, so they decide to change their ways. However, this is easier said than done. (Source: ANN)

Young GTO is an incredibly pure, hilarious, and true hidden gem for fans who want to explore the roots of Eikichi Onizuka and his partner Ryuji, the legends behind the outstanding Great Teacher Onizuka series. The setting relied heavily on nostalgia, showcasing the beautiful Shonan coast where Kamakura and its Enoshima Island lie, along with the harbor area of Yokohama near Yamashita Park. What made me love this anime so much is the profound sense of freedom it gave me. It perfectly captured the essence of adolescence: the high expectations, the thirst for liberty, and the quest to win girls over while fighting against other guys for supremacy—all wrapped in absurdly funny humor and without any complicated plot behind it. To me, ultimately, Young GTO was a burst of wild freedom alongsi…

The first 2 episodes of this really surprised me! I was expecting this to be pretty dark and fighting with yakuza, but its actually a good teenager series, with of course some fighting and action. Ryuuji and Onizuka are welcoming duo, but even when they re not on the scene some characters are also good. I really feel they rushed it tho with episode 3 and 4 and episode 5 had an abrupt ending imo. But yeah its not that bad I ll rate it a 7/10 but I can definetly fight u on and on that it s better than a lot of other shits even tho they re higher on the ranking (talking about Samurai Champloo they re kinda equally good but one has 7,5 the other 8,5; and its much better than messy psychological wannabe series like psycho pass or ergo proxy) So 9/10 on animelist

I, as many who found themselves watching this, must've surely at least enjoyed Great Teacher Onizuka to give this prequel (even tho, it's not really, since it came out earlier) a try. I suppose in all respects it can be considered GTO's younger brother. With GTO taking all of the spotlight and attention and also having a stronger narrative and cast of characters. Whereas, in Shonan Jumai Gumi, the only two characters that I gave a damn about other than Onizuka were Ayumi and Ryuji. The Humor was all consistently funny, however, Story-wise this OVA instantly falls apart. With the Exception of Episode 3, this felt really mediocre (story/character wise). Not bad however, some of the amateurish lowbrow humor, from time to time would catch me off-guard with its hilarity. After finishing wat…

Based on the manga by Fujisawa Tooru, Shounan Junai Gumi, also known as GTO The Early Years in America tells the high school days of Onizuka Eikichi and Danma Ryuji when they were the infamous and (the nearly) invincible duo known as the Onibaku. Initially, the Onibaku leave their school to transfer to a new one in hopes of starting fresh and abandoning their delinquent ways in the ultimate hope of teenage conquest, to get laid. To help in their attempt at reformation, they get part-time jobs at the beach and there they meet two young ladies. Unfortunately, circumstances make them revert back to their brawling habits and to make things worse, those two young lades happen to be teachers at their new school. So after the initial events in the first episode, the Onibaku figure fuck it, stay…

The prequel to Great teacher Onizuka a truly amazing series to precead. I watched GTO first and i know many people will do the same since this title is lesser known. Hopefully i can give you a few reasons to pick up this exciting prequel. When i picked up Shonan Junai Gumi i was not sure what to expect considering the structure of GTO i had wondered if it would follow a similar pattern or would it be totally original in itself. It turned out to follow a similar yet different structure. Following Onizuka on his various journeys riding motorcycles and beaten up punks. The humor keeps in the same sense as the parent series with lots of innuendo and erotic themes. I actually say this series has more of a risky atmosphere and adult themes. It also has slightly more violence debatably but wat…

well, obviously this is the prequel to GTO, i got lucky and was able to get it off the net and got a chance to watch it, i think now its pretty difficult to get it. anyway its not as good as GTo, but it's a treat to find out the troubles that Onizuka and his friends get in. as for story goes, its not the best nor it makes "real" sense, but it was sure enjoyable, partly cuz i am a GTO fan.

I am a huge fan of the Great Teacher Onizuka manga and anime, so I knew I had to check this show out. Shonan Junai Gumi is actually a prequel to the popular GTO, but not nearly as well known. It is a look into the life of Onizuka and his friend Ryuji back in high school, when they were known as the feared biker duo, Oni-Baku. Filled with action, fighting, and humor, this show is a great way for GTO fans to get a bit more Onizuka, and give those new to the series their first taste of this great character. Story – 6 – The story starts out somewhat promising. Two former delinquents try to turn their lives around and give up their old ways … in order to get laid. Ok well, maybe it wasn’t that promising, but I thought seeing two former gang members try to shed that image, regardless of the rea…
