Makeruna! Makendou

Introduction

Makenko used to be a normal boy—until he was kidnapped by the brain monster Dr. Mud and transformed into a cyborg capable of destroying both the monster and human worlds! On his quest for vengeance, he is inadvertently joined by Makendo, a fellow monster hunter who would prefer not to be, and her little sister Hikari who would like nothing better! Dastardly demons and wacky monsters abound as the trio fight the bad guys to kick some monster butt, and get Makenko's body back!

This is a promotional episode for a SNES game called "Kendo Rage". A fun and short pilot-OVA, which people just seem to hate here on MAL. Low reviews and less than 800 members at the moment, which is really undeserving. Doesn't deserve an R rating either. They only show a pair of tits for one second during the magical-girl transformation. Maybe the problem is people get upset that the series didn't continue, and as such it doesn't deserve a good score... but pilots are pilots. The series didn't get picked up at the time, and that was the end of it. The animation and art are on point. Characters look interesting, cute and are funny most of the time. The story is just whatever, of course. Don't expect much from a 90s OVA. But character development was surprisingly good for such a short ep…

Rate a 4 English Subtitles Note: Unclear to why a 30minutes duration to the 26minutes i have seen. My guess, 30 was a nice round up number. Story -Introduction was a bit confusing of a start. While we did get an idea of the character's backstory it wasn't really sufficient. How can the audience root for someone they don't really know? Then again one could argue it goes along with the police's database of knowing basically nothing. Although, the past was himself, for he had his own name. His current and possible future lies in the hands of another. So, while the police background concept is an argumentative it only focuses on the current.
