Introduction

Captain Tsubasa is the passionate story of an elementary school student whose thoughts and dreams revolve almost entirely around the love of soccer. 11-year-old Tsubasa Oozora started playing soccer at a very young age, and while it was mostly just a recreational sport for his friends, for him, it developed into something of an obsession. In order to pursue his dream to the best of his elementary school abilities, Tsubasa moves with his mother to Nankatsu city, which is well-known for its excellent elementary school soccer teams. But although he was easily the best in his old town, Nankatsu has a lot more competition, and he will need all of his skill and talent in order to stand out from this new crowd. He encounters not only rivals, but also new friends like the pretty girl Sanae Nakazawa and the talented goalkeeper, Genzo Wakabayashi, who shares the same passion as Tsubasa, and will prove to be a treasured friend in helping him push towards his dreams. Representing Japan in the FIFA World Cup is Tsubasa’s ultimate dream, but it will take a lot more than talent to reach it.

It would be a shame not to give this cartoon a 10/10 which is like a king of our childhood. But yes, it's a cartoon in my opinion, and if I were to give it the score it deserves, I'd give it a maximum 6/10. It was made in 1983, so I can't say anything about the visual quality and animation because I don't know what productions were like back then. But the story is standard, the characters (except Hyuga) are standard, and I don't even remember the character development; it's been 15 years since I watched it. Btw Tsubasa is the most boosted bastard I've ever seen. He's got the author on his side, just coasting through every match like a king. He's riding on major plot armor, just breezing through the episodes while the writer carries him. Look, it's 2026 now, and I've never seen another sc…

this anime is a priceless masterpiece for me but honestly i give this score because of my childhood memories. if i watch it again today as an adult maybe it is like a 5 or 6 but for my child self it was everything. i remember waking up in middle of night just to sit in front of tv and watch CAPTAIN TSUBASA. that feeling was so special n i can never forget it. watching it now makes me feel so nostalgic but i must say it was way more fun and exciting when i was a little Kid.i know the animation and drawings are maybe average or even bad even for that time but i dont really care lol. it is one of my favorite nostalgic shows ever. watching him run on that never ending field for episodes was part of the fun for me back then. as someone who loves sports like football and basketball, i can see ho…

Captain Tsubasa, a reference for all football fans. Overall, this anime is excellent! At the time of viewing and reviewing, I had underestimated this anime and so I give it its fair value, which is well deserved, despite the fact that there are quite a few flaws. For example, the super long fields that we can't see the end of which the episodes are extended, overpowering strikes, super high jumps and stadiums filled when they are very young. Despite this, it didn't stop me from liking Olive and Tom in the sense that these details don't bother me and that other qualities compensate for these flaws. The characters are charismatic and endearing like Captain Olivier as long as he is passionate about football and by his limitless determination. His feeling for football is very strong and since…

I like 'CT' for many reasons. It's the first anime I watched in my life and thanks to it I discovered anime Tsubasa ia great friend of the ball and thanks to it he is always a better football player. Tsubasa always kicks the ball. The teamwork is really important in this anime and Tsubasa can't never win without his teammates. Thanks to Tsubasa also the others teammates are better. It's an optimistic story based on frienship and love for football Personally I like its graphic style and I think it's really good for children. Maybe 'CT' could seem 'imperfect' but has that 'something more' that many anime actually don't have and enters in your heart.

Whether "Captain Tsubasa" will appeal to you largely depends on the generation you grew up in. For those of you who grew up in the early 90s, it is conceivable that Japanese Anime (JA) such as "Dragon Ball Z" were instrumental in 'setting the bar' for how an Anime should be like. However, if you grew up in Europe during the 80s, it is hard to imagine that Captain Tsubasa wasn't within your weekly radar of TV shows. After all, how could a JA series about football not appeal to kids who probably spent their summer break doing the same (i.e. playing football)? At least for me, this was one of those 'trend setting' Anime that made football a lot more fun to play; even if it meant grazing my back against the concrete floor after attempting to perform a bicycle kick. Having watched this show sev…

I know that 8+8+8+8+10=Overall 10. But that's how I feel. This is not the best drawn anime. It's not the best character driven or have the best plot or even sound. But this anime has something that most animes nowadays will never had. This anime made people around the world enjoy football (soccer to you americans). Fernando Torres; Iniesta and plenty other european players were fan of it. Some even say they went to play because of it. I am not even talking about Japanese players (https://www.tofugu.com/japan/soccer-in-japan/) This show is very good about a boy who will do everything to become a world cup winner and every rival becomes his friends. They become the Under X Japan Team and then the World Cup. But I understand this is not an easy series for someone with 20 years nowadays. I…

I watched this anime when I was in elementary school, and including me all my friends were really into it. This got us all into soccer too lol, I would imagine myself being Tsubasa, or Misaki and try harder at soccer. I recently watched the first three episodes but couldn't find anymore with english subs, or dubs. If anyone knows anyplace I can find them in please let me know. But as to the anime it is very enjoyable, it combines both reality and super powers such as Tsubasa's super kick (which, while playing the Japanese only Atari game with my friends and not knowing a bit of Japanese, for an unknown reason called it "Magnum"), and the Twins' super-joint kick. It is about a student named Ozora Tsubasa who moves to Nankatsu from his hometown because he wants to play soccer in the fam…
