It's important to know the context of this series and to know at least who Hideaki Anno when watching this. Of course, it isn't and shouldn't be required, and can be enjoyed as a light commentary on otaku lifestyle and can be enjoyed as a nice laugh. For one, it's absolutely criminal that this series has such a low rating. (probably rated so low by ignorant idiots who hate anything unconventional.) This anime accomplishes exactly what it set out to do: accentuate and describe Hideaki and Moyoco Anno's married life for a few laughs (if not tons of them). It's certainly not meant to be taken seriously or critically analyzed, as this series is purely for a very, very, very niche audience, so I understand if one would be confused if they were new to anime.

The fact that this little series' score hovers just below a 6/10 is a crime, if you ask me. I, personally, highly recommend this little gem, and I have to question whether the people who rate this anime so lowly even know what it is they watched. Let's not beat around the bush and get right to doing this MAL-style review thing, shall we? Story: 9/10 It's as simple as simple can be--Director-kun and Rompers (a.k.a. Hideaki and Moyoco) are fuckin' otaku, and they make otaku jokes in the midst of their day-to-day activities. But sometimes simplicity is a virtue, and for the purposes of a gag comedy, that certainly is the case. Art: 8/10 The visuals do what they need to do. They keep it light, they keep it fun. My only gripe is that there are a few moments where it's preeeeetty obvious this…

Kantoku Fuyuki Todoki ( Insufficient Director) is an anime based of a manga by Moyoco Anno the wife of acclaimed director Hideki Anno. It is told through two characters based on their real selves, Director-kun and Rompers. Story: 7 The series is told through the eyes of Rompers and focuses around the experiences of marrying an otaku. Like your standard slice of life there is not a concrete plot and it consists of gags. This fits the 3 minute a episode flash format well, allowing for a quick watch designed to be light hearted while providing a entertaining incite into their daily lives. The only issues I have with it was the lack of comedic high points and it's initial just otaku based humor. The humor is mostly just light humor and wont generate any deeply memorable lines. Art: 6 Being…
