I Can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying: 2nd Thread

Introduction

The Tsunashi couple is as lively and offbeat as ever. Hardcore otaku shut-in Hajime and workaholic office lady Kaoru still get themselves into hilarious situations thanks to both their own eccentric natures and the bizarre group of friends surrounding them. After learning about Kaoru's pregnancy, Hajime works harder than ever to become a good husband and a worthy father. Meanwhile, Kaoru reflects on their relationship and remembers all of the trials and tribulations that brought them closer. The two of them continue to put their best foot forward in their lives and their marriage—all for the sake of long-lasting, selfless love. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

"Excalibur!" I Can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying Season 2 is a funny, adult-oriented slice-of-life. It's a short tribute to old-school otakus. Just like the first season, it's not a masterpiece or something that changes the anime/manga industry. It's just a light anime. I recommend watching it if you are bored; I watched it throughout a single day. This season has more references to otaku culture than the first one—there was a Fate/stay night Saber reference, and even Terminator appears. In contrast with the first season, personally, I believe that the episodes have more structure. The 4-koma sections are united by the theme of the episode, making the plot more enjoyable and easy to watch.

It takes a special kind of anime to make a line like "then they had a lot of sex" to actually sound cute and wholesome. The second season expands on the story of the first, with more vignettes set in the past and back stories for other characters like the otaku husbands little brother and the office lady wife's friend. Despite all the challenges, this couple with mismatched personalities is committed to understanding each other. The series is a perfect example of Japanese "was" or social harmony between all the different characters. Of course they both have their insecurities, but they take the time to always talk things out, and make things work.

I quite enjoyed I Can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying season 1. Season 2 is not terrible, but is less essential than that first one. The first one is just so adorable and wholesome, and season 2 is still adorable and wholesome, but the introduction of other characters and having them have their own arcs in an anime that is already extremely short as it is leaves little room for the main characters to have a beautiful moment. There are nice moments on here, don't get me wrong; I mostly enjoyed this anime, but season 2 is not as good as the first. It just is what it is. The animation style is rather simple. The three minute episodes are easy to digest. The story is cute. It's just not enough altogether to make for a good second season. It was fine, and if you watched the first season…

I was a bit worried about the second season of this show, as the first one's ending suggested the child and the way it changes the protagonist's relationship would be the main theme... But that's only partially the case, as the unrelated slice-of-life moments are also very much present. The funny and wholesome tone is very much sustained, along with the pretty on-point commentary on modern marriage. For purely subjective reasons I'll rate this slightly lower than the first season (I just really don't like children and I'm very happy my relationship is by mutual agreement devoid of those :P) and a few episodes were a bit whimsical/random, but overall, this is still a surprisingly good and meaningful show for a short-form anime. Particularly if you're old enough to fully appreciate its main…

A continuation of the antics of husband and wife from season 1, season 2 jumps around with the story a significant amount more than the first. The big reveal at the end of the first season is left unaddressed until the 10th episode of the second. Leaving this massive plot thread unaddressed until the third-to-last episode made me feel a bit unfulfilled as a viewer. The wit and charm of this series is still as present as ever but, without advancing the plot until there is only nine minutes of animation left felt like the story went nowhere. But what can you expect from a series that is 3 minutes an episode? Had they addressed everything from the beginning of the season it likely still would not have been enough time to adapt the event. If you liked season one you will like season two.…

Beings that I watched the first season of I Can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying, I decided to see what I Can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying: 2nd Thread, aka the second season was any good or not. Of course once again all thirteen episodes of this anime are about three minutes long, so you'll be able to watch all of this in one sitting if you choose to do so. I thought that the second season was good & once again there is sort of a story to this anime, then again to me it was mostly just random things happening in each episode.

To simply put season 1 and 2 together, it is sweet and enjoyable. It ain't anything special or anything that will blow your mind with it's character development and arc. It is just short clips that has it's humor here and there, some lands and some didn't. It's just one of those sweet, simple anime that you don't need to think and just sit back and relax and watch. It's a nice sweet romance that I wish I have... watching them being jealous that I wish I had a wife like that lol... while all I have is my 2D waifu and not my 3D wife. If you just want something easy to consume and watch without having to use your brain, it's light hearted and easy to watch. It is one of those anime that really captures a sweeter side of marriage. How it has it's struggles and it has it's moments of bliss.…

I dived into this short 4-koma manga with extremely low expectations as it was just a 3 minute per ep series. I came out of my binge-watch wholly satisfied and revitalized. That isn’t to say I rated it highly because it is really short and has about as much quality as its runtime- but that is to say, it pretty much used every second of every minute to the fullest. To finally talk about what makes it so great; I would have to point out how progressive the initial season is. I am mainly talking about how Kaoru and Hajime having legitimate gripes when it came to their marriage and hashed things out calmly. It was a good anecdote of how marriage can have small downsides. But it wasn’t just the fact that they talked things out but how they did it. As somewhat of a NEET, Hajime had his own ways…

This'll be very brief, as not much is different to season 1, which I already reviewed. Story: The humor is the same, the jokes are still funny, it's pretty much just more of the same (which is cool with me). 8/10 Art: Nothing different here either. Simplistic, yes, but tolerable. 6/10 Sound: Voice acting was still pretty good, the new ending was just as cute as the first. 8/10 Characters: Our main couple is as cute and funny as before. The side characters are fun as well. The story how Rino and her husband met was adorable. 7/10 Enjoyment: This gets the exact same ratings, as it is the exact same anime, only more episodes. Fun to watch, very cute at times and heartwarming. 9/10 Overall: 7.6/10

FULL DISCLOSURE: This is a repaste of my review of the first season, since the series is so short I reviewed both together. The differences are at the bottom. I have not read the original 4-koma. I strongly recommend watching this as it is really short and enjoyable. ART+ANIMATION: It’s a 4-koma based anime, so the art won’t be amazing. That being said, everything looks purposeful and there are no outstanding omissions. There are moments within the story with strongly different art / animation to match the situational comedy and they all work well. The animation is standard-issue for this genre. However, there is one episode that uses its own dreary feeling animation style for a character development flashback - I think its use was well-suited. There are even a few scenes where the anima…

Basically everything that I said about the first season rings about the same for this season, as its more or less the same as last season, but with different antics and such going down. However theres a lot less screentime with the titular husband dude, so that kinda bogs things down a bit. Either way this anime is still pretty good, and the episodes are still all under 5 minutes, which is good if you want to just watch shit to watch shit. Also the baby that was so important during the last episode of the first season is nowhere to be seen until the last episode of this season, so rip that baby being a story device. If I were to finally describe this anime, this anime's description would be "this anime is so great, that i would reccomend this anime to everyone", so thats what this anime wo…

This heart-warming series about an otaku's amazing marriage to a mostly-ordinary girl continues into season 2. Like the first season, the majority of the show is composed of 4-koma like short events, which are often humorous. The show doesn't exploit the discovery in the last episode of season 1 as much as I thought it would. Regardless, it does a great job of continuing the feel-good relationship-based atmosphere of the first season. As usual, the first season is mandatory as there isn't any character exposition. Animation: Expect the same as the first season, not really the prettiest thing out there but it does the job. Like the first season, expect the subject matter to be a bit on the mature side- including quite a few dirty jokes. Sound: Also very similar to the first season, the sh…

(This has been adapted from my blog/reddit thread. Spoilers ahead!) There are friends and there is family, both of which are important relationships to have and to maintain. But there is arguably one that is even greater, or at the minimum is incredibly unique when compared to the previous two: the connection to a lover. The wife or husband, the companion, the darling; the relationship that is made between two people who love each other, more so than anyone else, is a special bond that is extremely valuable. After all, they do not include the phrase “’till death do you part” because it sounds cool. I Can’t Understand What My Husband Is Saying: 2nd Thread hones in on this very bond, providing an anime that does not really know what it wants to do. STORY Danna ga Nani 2 (the Japanese, sho…

Danna ga Nani wo Itteiru ka Wakaranai Ken 2 Sure-me ( I Can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying 2) is an anime short that really doesn't need any extensive examination to really comprehend. Adapted from the manga of the same name and garnering enough buzz to receive a 2nd season, those that are fans of the 1st installment would be treated to the same kind of charm in this follow-up. It's an anime short that tells a very simple, yet sweet tale, documenting the everyday lives of a married couple learning to cope with each other, despite their obvious differences. The biggest highlight of this show comes from seeing their daily interaction play out to comedic effect and also the small snippets of heartwarming content interspersed throughout its short run-time. Hajime Tsunashi, husband to…

I won't be writing a review on the first season because I'm focusing on anime series from Spring 2015 onward (if not there would be too many reviews to write....) Just like the first season it had the comedy and character personalities are still there! For an anime short I wished it would have been longer than 3 minutes; but I guess that's how the creators brought out the comedy and characters in the series Each episode is short and the series is great for laughs so I would recommend this to comedy lovers or people who like to see parodies in other anime series (there are a few parodies in the series which add more to the humor)

Firstly, let me start of by saying that this is my first review, so it might not be as good as other reviews. Also, I'll try my best not to include any spoilers at all. Ok apart from that. I would love to say that the second season of Danna (because title is too long) is honestly unexpectedly even more enjoyable than the previous season, which was why I felt compelled to write this review in the first place. I mean I do have better things to do with my time. Moving on, so why do I like this show? To sum it up rather quickly, because this is one of the only shorts that actually is entertaining to watch and explores the region of what happens if one is an Otaku and somehow manages to get in a romantic relationship. Having watched many other titles in the same genre as this, I can honest…
