Real Girl

Real Girl

Introduction

For Hikari Tsutsui, life within the two-dimensional realm is much simpler. Socially inept and awkward, he immerses himself in video games and anime, only to be relentlessly ridiculed and ostracized by his classmates. Sharing his misery is Yuuto Itou, his only friend, who wears cat ears and is equally obsessed with the world of games. After being forced to clean the pool as punishment for arriving late, Tsutsui meets Iroha Igarashi, but he attempts to steer clear of her, as her notoriety precedes her. Brazenly blunt, loathed by female classmates, and infamous for messing around with boys, Tsutsui believes that getting involved with her would cause nothing but problems. 3D Kanojo: Real Girl is a story revolving around these two outcasts—a boy full of emotions he has never experienced before, struggling to lay them bare, and a girl who strives to break him out of his shell. Do not let the scores and 1st season deceive you, this anime starts strong, it develops very mildly during the first season... but the real meat of the story comes in the 2nd season and makes this whole season 1 so much more memorable. I really dislike having good anime destroyed by "early scores" given buy clueless people who did not bother to watch the entire series seasons. And this seems to be the case with this one. It might look a like your everyday shojo that’s very forgettable, but you couldn't be more wrong about it. Think of the first season as something happy to prepare you for the clash that the 2nd season is about to come crash on you. Most of the happy moments happen in this season and everything is blown away with the next season, trust me you are not expecting what is to c…

3D Kanojo: Real Girl is a painful experience. A lazily shat out rom-com that uses cliches and plot contrivances as a crutch to hobble its way through twelve agonizing episodes. Proudly it presents insultingly stereotypical characters that are anything but three-dimensional. All you need to do is gaze upon this glorious shitfest and it becomes abundantly clear what the show’s main issue is: it’s fucking hideous. The art is a disaster; backgrounds are a mess of fuzzy colors, there’s very little animation, and in an attempt to stay on model the characters hardly change their expressions. All the show has going for its visuals are the character designs, and even those are just the same faces mediocrely drawn and in worsening quality as the show progresses. The love interest, Iroha, has one…

*Spoiler Free* Really MAL should ban reviews unless you've seen the full season. The fact this has such a low rating is frankly a crime as many fans may be put off what is put off what is possibly one of the best romances in anime. 3D Kanojo: Real Girl will make you laugh, get frustrated and cry with both sadness and happiness. If you're looking for a wholesome and compete story with all the right ingredients, this delivers on every aspect you could want. You can safely ignore the poor reviews as practically all will not have watched the anime to completion. Just bear in mind the start will and is intended to frustrate you. The main cast are "supposed" to be somewhat broken and this story follows the development of these high-schoolers as they grow and change. Stick with it, don't give…

This is anime is great to watch. It is a real emotional roller coaster, the main character does really piss me off at times, but overall it’s outstanding. I will say the several of the episodes really pissed me off but the last episode really makes up for it. Overall I really enjoyed the anime. I really felt invested in the story! I really recommend this anime even though it really is an emotional roller coaster. I loved watching it so much that I was left with wanting more. I just wish it didn’t have to end but I guess all good things have to come to an end. I’m not sure what else to say about the anime.

Note: This review takes into account the combination of the first and second seasons as one continuous plot and rates them as a combined work. Read on and you'll understand why I've chosen this approach. If you like when the underdog surprises and punches above their weight, this might be the show for you. I watched this series completely on a whim, expecting a lot of lonely otaku wish-fulfillment / pandering. I'll be quite honest, the start of the first season threw a lot of objectively unbelievable premises at the viewer exactly along these lines. Still, despite the predictably unbelievable start, it had some merits. Once getting past the initial unbelievable developments, the drama and romance aspects that followed were enough to keep me interested and just enough to make me curious a…

Wow, this anime absolutely blew me away. I stopped watching about half way through because I accidentally started another anime and forgot about it. I decided to re watch it a few months later and wow, I really regret not finishing it then. The story is absolutely fantastic, the way that love is conveyed in a very realistic sense, giving backgrounds to the characters and giving them unique personalities. You can see change in the characters as the story goes on, you laugh, you cry, its a whole mix of emotions. I just love this anime so much, the ending was such an unexpected turn, I expected it to just end out with him not with her anymore, but wow, it was an amazing ending. The way the characters grew and evolved when they got truly caring girlfriends who cared for them was amazing. Cha…

I think that this anime is one that is looked down upon despite having some great moments I found that a lot of the time spent between the mc and his gf was extremely heartwarming The mc has some cringe moments but that is to be expected from someone who has had no social life up until now the art was good but I felt like it had too many pauses and not enough movement the op and ed were really good and I still listen to them outside of the show which says a lot about it. as for my enjoyment, I had a really good time with the show I and never wanted to put it down watching bout the 1st and 2nd season in one sitting overall I would say the show is a 7 it has some flaws but through all of that you have a really nice heartwarming romance

I understand people think that this show is bad. I understand where all of you are coming from. But I really like the slow pace of this anime. It might be boring to some, but to others it was a great anime. I really loved the plot of the show as well even though some parts of it doesn't make sense. Like why couldn't Iroha ask Tsutsui directly. The characters in this anime was also great. If you liked this anime I recommend you watch Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!, Sakura-sou no Pet na Kanojo, and Your Lie in April. If you are looking for movies, watch Your Name, I Want to Eat Your Pancreas, and the Girl who lept through time. AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE DONT WATCH ALL OF THESE IN ONE DAY. Really enjoyed this one.

With all genuineness, after watching this anime. In my perspective, I believe that it wasn't as awful as the overall score. Story : 5/10 Hikari Tsutsui, an Otaku who's fixated with games and 2D girls. Is a teenager who's socially awkward and has terrible communication abilities. Tsutsui gets tormented in class, and his solitary companion. Yuuto Itou who wears cat ears additionally shares the hopelessness. One day, Tsutsui arrived late at school and had to stay back to clean the pool as punishment. He met a teenager named Iroha Igarashi. Tsutsui endeavors to avoid her and accepts that it is an issue if he is involved with her. But his thought became love, and both Igarashi and Tsutsui fell for each other. The story was quite weak and exceptionally feeble. In every episode, an event wo…

I didn't realize I was watching a shoujo anime when I started watching this. "3D Kanojo" makes it sound like it was written by some socially inept otaku guy who can't get a date. It wound up following the same path as other shoujo anime in that the relationship advances fairly quickly and the majority of the show is about love problems. However, it didn't follow through like other shows. The relationship starts up and moves forward, but it basically plateaus for the rest of the show without any major developments. The interpersonal relationships are relatively simple and the problems encountered by the characters are often pretty easy to solve, but every character seems to lack initiative or intuition, so it's easy to get irritated with the characters and story. Parts of the show such as t…

THIS REVIEW MIGHT HAS LIGHT SPOILERS An anime that is adapted from manga "Real girl", yea this story tells about a very popular girl in their highschool and a otaku guy who only has 1 best friend. He is like an anti social guy who never interact with other people except his otaku best friend. The interesting story start from here. If you want to find unusuall romance, you could start this show RATING : Art : 4 SMH, i don't know why, but i think this show art is pretty bad. compare to other old anime that has been released in 2006, that art was better than this art. characters movement is pretty bad. Sound : 6 Nothing special about the sound. i'm not going to say this sounds are bad. background sounds are good enough. Characters : 5 No, i don't really like this characters so far. f…

No spoilers. When I first picked this up I was expecting to drop it after one episode. The premise of basically having an incel somehow get into a relationship with a really pretty girl seemed kind of shallow. But I was entirely wrong and this is easily one of my favorite high school romance series. The plot is simple but engaging, and the artwork is admittedly mediocre. But the thing that makes this anime shine out above other romance anime is the characters. Every single character is relatable, human, deep, and nuanced. The authors did an incredible job of keeping true to the characters in every situation, and in not subverting their personalities for convenience or plot motion. Even the characters I wasn't supposed to like ended up being really dear to me, because I can just feel the a…

Think about shit, now think about this anime. You know what's similar? Humans shit out shit. The first 6 episodes of this anime is bearable, but the animations, characters, story, and everything starts to become a used diaper. I can't say anything unique about this anime. I was annoyed by two characters, Ito and Ayodo, I couldn't stand the laziness the anime tries to attempt with its animations, and the characters that were introduced is like any other anime I have ever watched. The difference of the anime is the plot. The main character started a relationship with this girl, but she is moving out in the next 6 months, so the main character tries to spend as much time as possible with her. That itself is fine, but nothing is built on it. The first 6 episodes are the only good episodes I…

For the first episode of 3D Kanojo: Real Girl, is about an otaku(Tsutsui) who gets detention to clean the pool for some dumb reason and is doing it with the new cute transfer student(Igarashi) and they start dating and become boyfriend and girlfriend. But the catch is that she is moving to another school the next school year. If you like highschool drama, small problems and poor depictions of otakus then I recommend this anime. Yeah the romantic escalation is great since anime in general seem to put that off and delay it until the end of the anime. But since Tsutsui is an "otaku", he has trouble understanding feelings and gets himself to all sorts of stupid sh*t and stirs up trouble throughout the anime. The sounds great, music and voice acting is kawaii out of ten. The story is a grea…

I am only writing this because it bothers me when someone's hard work is misunderstood or misrepresented. I want readers of my review to understand that while the overall story/plot of the anime is mostly unremarkable and hardly creative, the characters themselves and how they drove their own actions is what made this worth a watch. Real Girl is no masterpiece, but for those of us who enjoy a few romcoms out there, some slice of life shows, this one is definitely in my opinion, not the worst out there at the very least. In fact, all it took for me was to wait out until after the opening theme. The first bit right before the opening of the first episode had me rolling my eyes, but by the time I got half way through the episode, I was already ready to continue to the next one. The thing…

3D Kanojo: A series with potential that sinned from shallow After watching the 12 episodes of 3D Kanojo I had that bittersweet flavor of an anime that touched interesting topics, but did not develop them correctly. In my first impressions I commented how I liked that this series fought against the cliches and showed a fresh approach to a story that we have seen more than once in the anime; However, its execution did not end up being as solid as it would have liked, and in the end it did not know how to develop the themes it played. Of course, in defense of the anime I have to say that these problems come from the original material, because the manga, created by Mao Nanami, was not able to provide a credible view of the stories it told. Especially towards the end where it was noticed t…

I wouldn't normally write a review but with all the hate that this show is getting I felt I had to write something... Im not going to go into telling you what this anime is about since you can literally flick back to the main page and read the bio so Im just going to jump right into how I feel about this anime... (FYI score is fully based on entertainment) I have never really been in a significant relationship myself... Partly because the idea doesn't appeal to me, I feel as though there is nothing someone of the opposite sex can offer me while in a relationship that I can't get outside of one minus the hassle of going out with someone (of course this could just be me being narrow minded since I haven't been in one) (btw the other half of the reason I havent been in a relationship is beca…

What happens when we get a THOT like Iroha Igarashi with an Otaku loser like Hikaru Tsutsui? well we can expect that a THOT like Iroha would have belittle a loser like Tsutsui, but in this anime/manga that didn't happen, since the THOT Iroha isn't such a bad girl after al, in fact she quite the opposite of what THOT should be and Tsutui was is loser who was soooo lucky that he still has some trust issues with her where he at 1st tries to distance himself from that THOT, but ends up being with her. Now enough of the spoilers, what we actually have here was somewhat of a RomCom, tha somehow doesn't feel like one, cu'z the whole plot of the story was more of how the relationship of the the two underwent from a lot of challenges form Tsutui getting a knuckle sandwich from a lotta hot guys incl…

There were two-romcom anime that were airing from the spring 18 season. 3D Kanojo Real Girl and Wotaku love are hard for an okatu. However compare to Takagi San which was more a tease feast instead of a romcom both 3D Kanojo Real Girl Kanojo and Wotaku love is hard for an okatu were actually romcom that uses the character, drama, comedy and narrative to the fullest. However only one of the two romcom anime from the spring 18 seasons was good and that was Wotaku love is hard for an okatu. What Wotaku love is hard for an okatu has over 3D Kanojo Real Girl is that one the characters were likeable, two that show was well-paced and three the romance was actually great and believable. As much I want to go into more detail of why Wotaku is a better romcom anime than 3D Girl Kanojo (stay tune fo…

Please note this review is intended for those that have finished watching 3D Kanojo Real Girl and while care has been taken to minimise story related spoilers there may still be spoilers within character analysis. You have been warned. An unlikely romance between an Otaku and a popular but broken girl that awakens their heart to the feelings that they have been hiding from Based off a popular manga of the same name 3D Kanojo real girl better known as Real girl is a romantic comedy anime that gives us the opportunity to look at what will happen if a high school boy shunned by his fellow classmates for being an otaku was to encounter the beautiful but badly reputed troublemaker Iroha and end up receiving a most unexpected answer to a question that he asked merely as a joke. The first ep…
