The Master of Ragnarok & Blesser of Einherjar

The Master of Ragnarok & Blesser of Einherjar

Introduction

Some urban legends are best left untested! Yuuto Suou gets more than he bargained for when he joins his childhood friend Mitsuki Shimoya in testing out an urban legend. When he uses his phone to take a picture of himself with the local shrine's divine mirror, he is whisked off into another world—one heavily steeped in the lore of the old Norse myths. Using his knowledge gained from school and from his solar-powered smartphone, he has the chance to bring the Wolf Clan, the same people who cared for him, to prominence, all while earning the adoration of a group of magic-wielding warrior maidens known as the Einherjar. As someone who has watched more Isekai anime, willingly or otherwise, than I'd care to admit, this particular Crunchyroll-funded piece of garbage is truly the bottom of the bottom of the barrel. Great Isekai anime use their settings and premise to elevate their storytelling and challenge their audience while using the other world to say something meaningful about our world. Good Isekai anime feature a world and characters worth getting invested in. Passable Isekai anime stay away from questionable plot points and lean into the ridiculousness of their settings, premise, and characters. Normal bad Isekai anime have animation that doesn't look unfinished. Master of Ragnarok fails on all counts. I acknowledge as a certified trashman that garbage anime, guilty pleasures and the like, do i…

This is seriously one of the most underrated anime of all time. I give it a 10/10, from beautiful art to a great and large cast all with personality despite only having 12 episodes, this is truly a hidden gem. The story is isekai but unusual in that the main character did not die, when he is transported to the new world he is leaving behind people he cares about. Into a world of old technology and magic, he uses his knowledge of modern technology with internet searches to improve the society he lands in and ends up a benevolent dictator. This then leads to various wars with other nations. The art throughout is truly incredible. By the end of the series I had my jaw drop from how good the scenes were, this is just truly an unexpected underrated anime. There are some parts that I persona…

Imma keep it short. The score of 5.7 and not recommended reviews are exaggerated, this is a good watch, binged it in a day, I skipped it because of the low score but I exhausted most adventure, magic and fantasy shows, this was good tho. Just don't be so critical about it. It has no noticeable CG and good fight scenes. But not on the level of Fate, Mushoku Tensei or Demon Slayer. Its like the other generic Fantasy shows but not the bad ones. Black Summoner is above 7 but the CG is dogshit so this show is better than that.

A reminder that just because Crunchyroll tosses money into the development of a show doesn't mean that it's a good idea. The early stages of this anime were decent, maybe even good. But as the series progressed, it just seemed like an isekai show where they wanted to make a main character that was geeky and pure, but not making him interesting. The biggest shortcoming of harem anime is character development. They rely on tropea for the male and female characters in order to quickly establish a foundation and get to the foundation. This show is a prime example of the problems with this approach. It results in an anime that is kind of boring. That doesn't mean it's devoid of any good moments. Whenever they showcase the development of new technology, or new strategies in combat, it fascina…

Probably one of the worst Isekai anime possible. First of all, here's the worst thing - You know how in many cases the anime has no real ending because the original manga / novel continues long after the anime ends? Well this is the first time I see it the other way around. This anime is from 2018 while the light novel began in 2013 and for some reason beyond my comprehension the anime doesn't start at the beginning of the story but a lot later. To be blunt, it's like they decided to skip the first season completely and begin with the second season. The result? You hardly know what's going on, and it's not like you can watch the show from the first episode because there is no first episode. There are quite a lot of references to past events that obviously happened only in the novel and to…

Something I always thought of when watching isekai anime or reading isekai manga was "what about the original world?" In most if not all isekais, the series doesn't bother with the world whence the protagonist came, and neither does the main character, because he or she just died to get to the new world. So, I always thought: "what if the protagonist actually has contact with his original world and/or can travel back and forth between the two worlds?" Now take that, mix it with Norse mythology and flush it down the filthiest toilet you can imagine. Hyakuren no Haou to Seiyaku no Valkyria (big words, long title, must be an isekai!) takes a premise that is relatively unexplored in isekai and ensures that no author will want to tackle it ever again. STORY: 1 The story starts two years AFT…

I’m not the one to read through reviews or write my own for that matter, but the overall score seemed strange for this anime. Of the Isekai genre this is one of my favorite main characters, Due to the incredibly low score I couldn’t find the anime. Yuto is an enjoyable character to watch. The use of battle strategies and not being overpowered only made me enjoy the show more. He also has a brain and actually talks through things with the girls rather than just turning red and not saying anything like many shows. The smart phone usage was also a great add. There’s going to be fan-service, there’s going to be some cliches, but this anime is a 7 from me.

I'm lazy so I'm going to use google translator: Okay, the anime has 2 scenes of echhi for 1 action, but I really like anime that portrays historical facts. The anime has its cons yes! But he managed to hold me back only with the strategies used in battle, drawing a lot from Norse and Roman mythology. He relied on great historical leaders, and his thoughts on dealing with opponents made me see until the end. Of course, the anime could be 10x more elaborate, the battles are fast and the duels even more, which is a pity, since the anime had potential for epic scenes. But it looks like they didn't want to focus on that ... Anyway, it ended up being a slice of life with escapes for quick battles. I don't know if I would recommend it to someone who doesn't have the same taste as me.

This is nowhere near as bad as people have been making out. The general complaints seem to be focused on it being an Isekai, well shucks if you don't like Isekai anime don't watch Isekai anime, it's not hard to figure out. As an Isekai this is rather good, it also doesn't have many of the sins that a lot of Isekai anime have. We don't have the OP protagonist with crazy fighting powers or magical abilities, instead we have a regular guy who takes advantage of being from the future/different world and is able to implement a more advanced technology and tactics into the nation (clan) that he is made ruler of. We also don't have the clueless protag at the head of a harem, or the protag who is running away from the girls for no reason. Although there still is a harem element the protag has a…

I just made an account for the sole purpose of giving this show a fair, non-pretentious review. I'm hoping it will help give people a reason to not skip out on this show. I know it's easy to be put off by all the negative reviews, but let me be the one to tell you that they mean nothing. They aren't trustworthy professionals that know the ins and outs of storytelling and writing. They're delusional trolls who only THINK that they know what they're talking about. They don't. They're victim to the primitive belief that if you don't understand something, that makes it bad. I've actually made attempts to learn how authorship works. Writing is complex and often difficult, so there are thousands of different styles to go about it. And knowing that, I look and this show and say with the utmost co…

First things first: turn your brain off to watch this. And no, I don't mean in a digibro-overanalyzer way, just the critique part of the brain. You don't need it here. You're here to watch funny shit. Here's some. The scores above are not explanatory enough to define this anime so I will put some more here, also giving half points where necessary. Plot: 8 Completeness: 5 Ecchi: almost non existent Conclusion: 9 Art style: 7 CGI: 5 Sound: 6 Characters: 7 Enjoyment: 7.5 Overall: 7.5 Plot and completeness: I didn't read the manga, but I feel an episode 1 is missing. World building is rushed and some characters (Mizuki) are taken for granted. The ending is a little short too, I feel there could've been an extra episode about the last episode's last minute. Apart from that, assuming the man…

Why does this exist? I genuinely believe that the animators and the storywriters got bored and got a monkey high on LSD to copy and paste sections of other LNs to make this travesty. And boy does it copy other LNs liberally. The character is a clone of the guy from 'in another world with a smartphone'. The girls are copied from High School DxD and some of the lore gets thrown about casually too. The monkey took extra pains to make sure this was explained in one episode, but only so that it could confuse the viewer even more. The opponents are clones of antagonists from 'Campione!'. The anime does not even try to follow the plot points to the end. Battles start without us knowing, and end off screen while the MC looks ahead with a constipated expression, moaning on about how he is just…

Well everyone seems to hate this anime but all in all it's not that bad. It has a good protagonist that is not overpowered but actually puts effort in accomplishing things , good enough art work and it is not based on a game fantasy world like Sword Art Online, Overlord and frankly about a million others!! I don't have anything against those, in truth I find them quite enjoyable but it is good to have something different once in a while. So to tell the truth I do not understand what everybody has against this anime. The ending feels very rushed though.

LN reader here. I'd say that the Anime was just a mess. Its one of the cases where the source is decent yet the anime just does a bad job at adapting the source material. I'm one of the few who enjoyed the ride, but was majorly disappointed at how much they cut content and world building (which the anime desperately needed). For a rookie director, I'd say he did a bad job at his first try. The anime is too rushed, cut out the lore, the worldbuilding, especially the much needed characterization for each of the characters. Unlike how the romance was portrayed in the anime, The source went the harem route. Overall, this is just a badly adapted anime. I enjoyed it, but with how much content, world building, and lore they skipped throughout the show? I'll say it once again. The anime is…

It scratches the Isekai itch like a gas station satisfies my hunger for pizza. It tastes bad, but still tastes like pizza so you eat it anyways. There's not much more to say about it, but MAL want me to write a longer review. The relationship between the MC and his love interest is the highlight of the series, but it gets the least amount of time. Throw in a healthy amount of fan service and blah strategy war scenes, and that about sums it up. That said, I still watched the whole thing and can't say I didn't like it, but this anime is trash and so am I.

This show shouldn't be taken seriously. I saw many that gave this series a 1 out of pure hatred. In my case however, I found amusement from this show. While this show did a horrible job with its story and characters that cannot be fixed with Flex Tape, I had fun because of its poor quality. It was amusing to see how bad some of the actions scenes were and how pathetic some of the "heart warming" scenes were. I was also pleased that they actually wrapped up the story. I give this series a 4 based on my enjoyment of the show. Please continue to read to see a more detailed review. Story: The story was bland. It's about a guy who got sucked into a magical past where people are given titles based on names from Norse mythology. The story shows our main character, Suoo Yuuto winning wars usin…

The Master of Ragnarok & Blesser of Einherjar or as I like to call it The Master of Rock Bottom is garbage. This is what happens when a studio named Em2 copies and pastes the world most uninspired Iseaki anime (In Another World With My Smartphone). With writing, direction and production so bad it makes shows like Black Clover and Darling in the Franxx look competent. The Master of Ragnarok & Blesser of Einherjar is empty filled of nothingness that can't even respect its own target audience correctly. The show itself is horrendously written crap in the very beginning with numerous red flags popping up over the course of it that would quickly lead to series killing problems. Yuuto Suoh is a normal high school student who is knowledgeable about urban legends. In order to prove one of these l…

The Master of Ragnarok and Blesser of Einherjar is a truly humiliating work. It’s so comically inept and earnest in the name of its intended ambitions and atrocities that it becomes endearingly pathetic for a while. I was wholly prepared to come write about how this show was the ultimate waste of time in terms of creating it, watching it, and especially reviewing it. It still is in many ways, especially when it becomes downright insufferable later on, but this deformed gem belongs in the same realm as classics such as Big Order and The Room. I mean, just look at this thing, this clueless, fugly piece of shit! This show is the penultimate production shitshow! To begin with the easiest of targets, the CGI is as prevalent as it is laughable. The stills are more frequent than bits of animatio…

Isekai... The term in anime that I really want to avoid due to some anime being isekai and trash as well.. But I can't help reviewing this trash of an anime because I was also one of the few who reviewed a similar anime last year.. And coincidentally that anime aired in summer season of anime as well. Now, I don't have a grudge on all isekai anime (as you may know I love Overlord and Log Horizon), but this type of Isekai where the protagonist are just so generic along with his harem is just... bad. And this anime just transcended from the bad one to a worst one. Story: The story is simple to summarize. Guy named Yuuto got transported into a fantasy world filled with Norse mythology. Along him is his trusty sidekick named "Smartphone" where on the first episode, we were slammed already by…

Hayao Miyazaki once said: "Anime was a mistake." And yet in 2018, we have 2 series that stand out much: Winter's Mahou Shoujo Site and this season's abominable, unwatchable, god-damn mess of an isekai-harem, I proudly present to you...Hyakuren no Haou to Seiyaku no Valkyria, or what I'd like to call: The Master of Ragna-"Rock Bottom" & "Teenage-Loli Harems AF" of Einherjar. And not even the Anime Pope (Mother's Basement) has the quintessential formula to save you from the endless frustration of the amount of quirks that this show has going for. "This anime is a lot of nothing, BUT a whole lot of nothing." - Geoff Thew, professional shitbag, signing out from my Mother's Basement. I thought that Isekai Smartphone from the same season last year and Winter's Death March were unimpressive, u…
