Introduction
Long ago, alien lifeforms came to Earth, fusing with people on the planet. Due to their appearance, they were dubbed "Mecha-ude," as when fused, they bore a striking resemblance to mechanized limbs.
Through an involuntary partnership, average middle schooler Hikaru Amatsuga works alongside the Mecha-ude Arma, who is an extremely rare and special existence. To protect Arma, the resistance group ARMS assigns the dual Mecha-ude user Aki Murasame to follow him wherever he goes. However, she is also looking for a mysterious Snake-Type Mecha-ude wielder, who has put many of her comrades in a critical state.
Behind the scenes, an organization known as the Kagami Group is searching for the mythical "Trigger Arm," a Mecha-ude said to grant unlimited power. When Aki's life is threatened by this group, Hikaru must team up with Arma to find the courage to fight back and, along the way, learn that his life will never be ordinary again.

Before reviewing the TV series, I would like to shout out, what I call, the "pilot" episode first.
This is not gonna be long, just want to say. The dedication to this project is mindboggling. I've heard how many were waiting for this pilot to be an official episodic anime and it showed. They nailed it, they got it. That alone has to be framed to their studio. To achieve such an amazing milestone for this small project that took a lot of time is amazing to hear. Congrats to all of the people who work on this from fundraising, standalone manga, and now anime. You guys should be proud of yourself.
Overall, I give this 9.4 for just dedication and the production that went into this. Now I'm going ahead to watch and the TV series, because there is a lot to talk about in that one.

This was a wild ride for a 30 minute ONA, and I enjoyed every moment.
Being tossed headfirst into the beginning I hadn't really read the synopsis at all, and going in completely blind just felt right.
Story -- 6/10
Given that I didn't read anything on it before watching, I really had no clue on the story, but could grasp right away that there was some kind of alien thing, more like a mechanism that found its way to earth, and through some sort of experimentation, were able to bond with Human Beings.
Any further than that and I was ultimately confused at the green haired boy being chased, but my gut feeling was that the characters Aki, and Hikaru were likely our protagonists.
Art -- 8/10
I don't know anything about the studio or artists, but the really interesting art style reminded me…

I believe that this show blurs the lines if what makes an anime. I felt the same way watching this show as I did watching RWBY for the first time. It's not hard to tell the style apart from other anime. What this show did happen to do well is in regards to the voice work and script. Now I happened to watch this with the English dub because why not, and I can say that I sincerely enjoyed every moment of it. It's not often that the English dub ends up being better that the Japanese audio, but that rings true here. The comedy really hits when it needs too as well, where even some line from a random thug was good enough for me to get a good laugh.
Overall, I would love to see more of this show! The premise is interesting enough, being something if a mix between the previously mentioned RWBY a…

Anyone remember Generator Rex from Cartoon Network? Well, this is the anime version with less monsters and more Rex's.

1. Originality: 7
As I said, the show looks pretty much like a pre-existing American one, but that doesn't mean that it's bad.
The idea of users using mechanical arms to fight each other doesn't sound new, it's even like a mini mecha. But that's why I consider that it's not a complete copy or something totally unoriginal, because the mecha genre is already saturated enough, so small changes like this are quite remarkable.
2. Story Development: 7.5
Obviously, you can't expect much from an OVA in this category.
That's why the development of the story is quite acceptable, because it does not leave many "loose ends", it develops as much as it can in those 30 minutes it…

Hey there fellow anime friends.!
Let's just say that this anime has a good art style and a normal story with your normal evil organisations and the main character just getting the most powerful weapon of all...
So far, I can't really judge as to how the show would turn out in the future (if it releases more episodes).
But as for this particular ONA.. you can enjoy the colourful art style and a really strong ED (by E ve)..As for the story, well only time will tell.
Thanks for having the patience to read the review. :) *End of Review*

One day, he meets a very strong and intelligent mechanical arm named "Mecha-ude". After a strange turn of events, the "Mecha-ude" started living inside Hero's hoodie and the two's life full of trouble begins.
As the boy and his "Mecha-…

A couple of years ago, we learned about Jason Barnes, a one-armed Atlanta man who is able to play drums thanks to a robotic prosthesis developed at Georgia Tech. Essentially, the dude is a cyborg drummer.
Shinichi Izumi is the main protagonist of the Kiseijuu series. He is a high school student whose right arm was infected with a parasite he named Migi.
Combine these two things, and we get Hero, a high schooler living an ordinary life, who meets Alma, a metallic arm who now lives together with hero for every moment of his life.
Whether people want to watch it or not is up to the individual, but I believe it is worth at the fundamentals for this story. This review will go into details as to my opinions on why I think so:
1. Story) There isn't really more to it than already mentioned pre…

Mechanical Arms (Mecha-Ude) is a single episode ONA that begins a story with the hopes of drawing enough attention/funding to expand into (I suspect) a full length series. According to the studios official website, they successfully collected $65,000 in 2016 from Kickstarter to help fund the project (i.e. the first episode). While I’m not overly impressed with their first offering, it is admirable to see new studios spring up in the age of online piracy. Before every studio and their mother flocks over to Netflix to remain financially solvent.
TriF Studio, the creators of Mechanical Arms, produced a show that adheres to the same basic framework of most Shounen anime. It’s a logical decision for a financially strapped studio that wishes to generate enthusiasm for its premier anime. As such…

A promising anime. Overall Rating: 7.8/10
Story - 9/10: The story takes place in a world where robots and humans co-exist. Since it has only one episode, dwelling deeply with the characters is impossible, which is not necessarily a bad thing given the time constrict. Overall it’s an anime with a lot of potential and hoping for an entire 12 to 24 episodes in the near future.
Art - 8/10: Great animation. Art style goes rough from time to time but I wouldn’t call it bad. In fact, it adds to the overall feel of the anime.
Sound - 7/10: Nothing to criticize about. The ending song was pretty enjoyable.
Character - 7/10: A lot of great characters with promising potential. I just wish that there were more episodes for us to know them better and know what makes them who they are.
Enjoyment -…

Very promising initial work from new studio TriF, I felt like I had traveled back to the days of the more experimental ovas and specials that appeared in the wake of Gainax rocking the industry, or one of the better young animator training project short films.
In a time where passion projects like FLCL and Gunbuster are being dragged out of their well earned rests as soulless husks who don’t have a creative bone in their bodies, Mecha-ude is a breath of fresh air. A new studio with mostly new staff, a new IP that while not incredibly innovative offers a new idea on some old concepts… this is definitely one of the better anime to come out of a crowdfunding campaign.
Is the art and animation a little rough around the edges? Sure, but for a first effort from new animators it’s pretty impr…

Don't under estimate this series from it's cliche synopsis. Yes it follows a lot of the cliche of Shonen but it does so with effort and love.
Many bad shonen follow the cliche's of Shonen like marking off points on a checklist. These series fail not becase they followed the tropes of Shonen. But because they did so without understanding them. They were just made by companies who looked at what was popular and said "we can do that".
Mecha-ude is nothing like that. It uses the cliche's of Shonen unashamably because the makers clearly love classic shonen and wanted to make their own. The episode draws a lot of Parallels to another older Shonen called Busou Renkin. It has a similar male lead, female support, and even their weaposn are simialr as the MC's has golden glow when he fights and h…
