Due to her unusual powers, Qian Yun Xi was exiled by her family when she was a child. Deprived of filial affection, she made a life of her own amid the wilderness on Mt. Ling Yun. However, everything begins to change when she marries Ye Youming in her sister's stead. honestly you need to be self aware in knowing what you want to see. if you're looking for complex plots, busy actions scenes, heavy intellectual stimulations or strong emotional responses this isn't for you! if you want to wind down while being entertaining enough that it won't get boring, this is the vibe I would go for. it's easy to keep up, it's short, it's funny-ish, and there's mild romance. you know where it's gonna go, but in a good way. the female lead is not thinking about romance so when a guy comes up to her she's quick to brush them off but the prince still manages to make her flutter.

This show is average at best. There's a clear lack of tension between the FMC and MMC, the FMC lacks depth, and the plot is mediocre. If you're looking for something to watch to pass the time, this one's for you, but don't expect anything that would tug at your heartstrings. To compare this to its modern counterpart, The Apothecary Diaries, I would watch the apothecary any day over this. That being said, however, if you're a Chinese speaker, you would find this hilarious. There are many well-hidden jokes spoken in Chinese that you wouldn't understand without knowing contemporary Chinese culture/are familiar with the language.

I went in expecting the usual formula. Pretty girl, no survival skills, romance doing all the heavy lifting. Instead I got a female lead who is actually strong. Like physically and mentally. She is sharp, independent, and way too competent for the kind of palace drama she gets thrown into. She does not just stand there looking shocked while things happen to her. She fights back, thinks on her feet, and handles situations like she has done this before. That alone made the show way more enjoyable. Watching her move through the story feels active, not passive, which is rare and honestly refreshing. Also yes, the men are absurdly attractive. It is distracting. I am not mad about it. The story stays interesting enough that you never feel like you are forcing yourself through episodes. It is…

I thought the story was entertaining, but not that exciting that I got immersed in the story. Especially the beginning of the story had good comedic moments, so it is an easy watch. However, there were moments I almost stopped watching because of the way prince Ye treated Yunxi. Most of the time it seemed needlessly cruel to me. This does change at some point. Yunxi was fun to watch, but we learn very little about her background and powers. I’m also unsure about how the magic of this world works in general. I haven’t watched season 2 yet, so I’m not sure if we’ll get more plot development there, but except for the relationship between the two leads, all conflict that’s introduced at the beginning remains completely unresolved at the end of the season. And still, the romance takes a long…

This “romance comedy” left me infuriated in most episodes and I am genuinely shocked at the high ratings of this show. I will condense my thoughts in spoiler free general feedback. Overall: Except for the female MC and her “special friends”, I genuinely did not feel an iota of interest or connection with anyone, including the male MC. In fact most of them are downright horrible people and it makes it hard to root for “romance” when the whole time you just want the female MC to punch male MC in the face, and disappear for good never to be seen again. I thought it was stereotypical “cold guy turns good” trope, but no, the male MC is genuinely a garbage human and someone willing to abuse a woman repeatedly on whim, I absolutely do not want a relationship between him and the female lead. If a…

Tong Ling Fei (Psychic Princess) was such an enjoyable surprise! If you’re into historical romances with a sprinkle of supernatural flair and a fiery female lead, this one hits the mark. The story follows Qian Yun Xi, a noblewoman with spiritual powers who ends up marrying into the royal family in her sister’s place. What seems like a forced marriage plot quickly turns into an entertaining back and forth between two stubborn, complex characters who slowly let their guards down. What really stood out to me was Yun Xi herself. She’s confident, clever, and doesn’t take nonsense from anyone, not even her cold, brooding husband, Prince Ye. Their interactions are full of tension, humor, and slowly building trust, which makes the romance feel more earned than rushed. The animation style is also…

Expected nothing and enjoyed a lot. It is pretty mediocre in almost all aspects (animation, soundtrack, script, etc.), but if you just relax and let this anime entertain you - it will do its job prefectly. The MC is fun, very active and assertive, befriends ghosts and horses left and right. The main dude is the right type, possessive control freak, exactly what one would want from "enemies to lovers" plot. The story is simple and lighthearted, don't expect much of it, just a nice background for the romance. If you enjoy this type of trope, it's worth a shot. One important note: don't trust the opening, it's incredibly awkward and looks like a really bad fever dream.

This was really fun to watch. I like hate to love romance. Interactions betwen FL and ML were funny. Also FL is strong, independent, capable of doing thing on her own (not some stupid crybaby). ML is manly, not naive,strong... i liked his character too. Some coments on ML are like.... he is practising abusive sexualized love behavior blah blah.... but i thing othervise cause FL is overal strong individual character whit a lot of pride, kind of tsundere and play hard to get so for me his behavior towards FL is maching to her type of personality. I am definitely looking towards 2nd season.

Fun chill chinese anime, that is a bit rough sometimes as is many chinese anime, however I just rewatched it and defenitely found it enjoyable. If you have seen other chinese anime its in the same vein as The Demonic King Who Chases His Wife (Xie Wang Zhui Qi), and a bit further away but still similar to Cinderella Shef(Meng Qi Shi Shen). Those 2 are probably betterish, although head to head I found Demonic king a bit more inconsistant, and its a lot more combat focused than Cinderella chef. The biggest problem for me, is the first episode. It drags a bit, and honestly on rewatch I just skip it. Honestly, if you were interested enough to read this and are looking for a show thats enjoyable but you might forget after a few weeks, look no further and you might as well just put on the firs…

Solid 8/10 nice change of pace. I found myself really enjoying it and couldn't stop myself from clicking the next episode unfortunately its left with really nice leads for a second season I doubt it will ever get, but even so I have no regrets watching it and would consider re-watching it in the future plus the prince is fantastic I love that the love plot is actually realistic even if nothing else in the show is if you like Chinese dramas I think you would definitely enjoy this! This may not have the most unique storyline but I enjoyed every second the art style was gorgeous and the main characters were given flaws as well as strengths so that's always a plus. Overall nothing to complain about except the no season two but such is the fate of so many great anime *sigh*

I decided to watch this anime because usually it is rare for a romance to have close to an 80% rating unless it is really good, but this show really disappointed me. The art style is beautiful, and I thought the plot was intriguing that being centered around a psychic woman who has to marry a Prince for her family. This is the typical and ideal fantasy for those of us who watch romance; girl marries "cold" prince, and he actually ends up being kind natured and loving and romance blossoms. Perfect. Well, this show is the exact opposite. I'm a sucker for the mean guy turns nice cliche, but the lead male MC - Prince Ye, is actually so heartless and rude it turned me off completely. I had to constantly remind myself that this show is set in a historical time period where women basically didn'…

All around decent donghua that’s basically an amalgamation of a bunch of standard tropes for this genre. It was pretty funny, but had a ton of wasted potential and strange logic that really made me wonder why this one was chosen to be animated… I’ve read a ton of manhua from this time period with similar premises, and they were often better written and used the setting better, so it makes me wonder if this manhua was especially popular. Story 7/10: Like I said, the story follows many standard tropes for these types of stories. arranged marriage, gives-no-shits “kickass” protagonist, all the other female characters are rude except 1 maid/friend who’s all shy and stuff, and all the men are like “MC is not like the other girls… she’s so interesting”. Nevertheless, I was really excited going…

Overall: 6.5 / 10 Introduction: This is my first experience with an animation of Chinese origin so it is quite curious as well as disconcerting due to the cultural differences that can be observed between the animes and this adaptation as is the case. However, at the end of the day, it still has the same format as most Japanese works and they share the same sections, so let's analyze it: Story: 5 Actually the plot begins somewhat confusing if not starting from reading the synopsis, it would become somewhat strange, but the idea of the concept of the "despised daughter" that is used as an object of exchange for the "family good" is understood and see how It is her new life as Emperor Ye's wife and the adversities it presents to her. For the rest, the story becomes more and more conf…

This is definility on my list of guily pleasure animes. I binge watched it within 24 hour period and I'm hoping beyond hope that they'll continue with the series. The first 16 episodes are only just enough to introduce the characters and start building the world they live in. Leading the show is ,Qian Yunxi, a beautiful, intelligent and compassionate heroine who is skilled in martial arts and has a connection with the spiritual world. She is forced into a strategic arranged marriage to a Prince,Ye Youming. The story follows her trials and tribulations and love triangles (or maybe just totally one-way rejections!). In the backdrop, there is an oncoming political war over terriroty and a magical war over a powerful ring. There is just so much more this show has to offer... If you're go…

As a huge fan of historical dramas, romantic anime and supernatural stories, I definitely could not pass by this anime, which promised me a mixture of all these genres. Animation also caught my eye. However, after a few episodes I got conflicting feelings about this show. To start with, I should say that Tong Ling Fei is definitely enjoyable and easy to follow. I do not regret spending an evening with it, though the show has a whole bunch of significant drawbacks. Nevertheless, I will not put it a high grade for the reasons I explain below. To watch or not to watch – it is up to you. If you expect something really cool and exciting or if you are looking for a serious title with a great twisted plot and lively characters, I guess you should try something else. If you are searching for som…

STORY: 8/10 The story isn't anything new in Chinese media, but I thought the overall plot execution and characters were really enjoyable to watch. The supernatural elements of the story were also a welcomed twist. The series length was unfortunately too short to fully develop the story in all aspects, but it was still compelling enough for me to keep watching to completion. Overall, Tong Ling Fei does a fairly good job balancing action, drama, comedy, and romance. ART: 7/10 The art style is generic, but decent and it suits the story's overall tone (themes aren't as heavy as in josei stories). The style kind of reminds me of early 2000s anime for some reason. Animation can get choppy at some parts, but overall it's good enough. SOUND: 8/10 You'll either hate or love the opening song,…

I definitely enjoyed that anime a lot! The female MC is smart, strong, talented and strong willed. No pushover for sure!! and I love my strong female MC's <3 She reminds me of a tsundere which is one of my fav types for anime girls. Her husband well although it's said he's cold, cruel and a playboy, he defininetely has a softspot for her. I think he's drawn to her intelligence and strength she's far more intresting than the average person so that would make sense imo xDD the anime also has many funny scenes and the supernatural powers add a nice and intresting twist to the story (also makes it funnier) and keeps u guessing what will happen in the next season! All in all the only thing I had to get used to it is....... watching in chinese instead of japanese xDD it's weird when u only under…

This anime has surprised me on many levels with the reviews it has received after watching it. It DOES not at all live up to those exceptions. I've tried again and again to push through the series hoping to be blown away, wanting to stop after episode 2. Story: Starting off this series, it wasn't at all bad and it pleased me to see some old Imperial Chinese history in a fictional setting. I was really hopeful, but merely after episode 2 it quickly becomes generic. The story doesn't provide much detail, depth, or really any interesting development. I'm a big sucker for Romance and comedy, but no real emotion can be felt and most of the "haha" moments fall flat on their face. And the plot holes just tie everything nicely together. (3/10) Art+Sound: Generic for an anime. Visually bland at…

This was a very simple anime to get into and follow. The story follows a strong female lead, Qian Yunxi, who is confident but can be abrasive at times. She has many hidden talents that make you continually interested in her character as you don’t know what to expect. The male lead, Lord Ye, is rather cold and domineering. The dynamic between these two comes down to a lot of power play. Over the course of the show, the two become quite endearing and it becomes easy to attain a soft spot for the relationship and romance they build through their constant bickering. The plot is very straightforward. The theme for each episode felt repetitive in which Qian Yunxi becomes rebellious and creates a scene but things end up working in her favor. Even though this was the case, each situation was di…
