World's End Harem

World's End Harem

Introduction

Reito Mizuhara is a medical student at the National Advanced Medical School in Tokyo who contracts a rare, lethal disease called cellular sclerosis. In order to be treated, he is put into cryogenic sleep for five years. Upon awakening, he learns that a year into his slumber, a worldwide pandemic broke out, caused by the novel Male Killer (MK) virus which exclusively afflicts males and has killed all other men on Earth. Fortunately, Reito and four other men were spared during their cryosleep and are now immune to the virus. As the only men left in the world, they are thus tasked with mating with as many women as possible to repopulate the planet. However, Reito is committed to his childhood friend and sole love interest, Elisa Tachibana—only to learn that she went missing three years ago. While the other male survivors adapt accordingly to this new world, Reito instead chooses to pursue Elisa, fight never-ending temptation, and investigate this mysterious virus. Something happened, but I honestly have no idea how it happened. It felt as if there was no proper script at all. Some episodes were extremely dark in terms of storytelling, showing how ugly people can become when they’re given power and opportunity. However, because the episodes felt disconnected from one another and from the overall plot, it just didn’t come together. The core concept itself is actually somewhat cliché, but if it had been handled properly, it could have been much better. The anime ended as if it were going to continue, yet no sequel ever came — and if the story was going to be told in this fragmented way, that was probably the right decision.

I recommend this anime, however, the "ecchi" genre is not very accepted by the community, due to the excessive fanservice in the works, and the "true fans" of these works strongly defend it and cite coherence, tolerance and necessity in them, but what can you do! Well, where do I start... Well, first, let's talk about the beginning. In the beginning, honestly, the anime gave me a lot of expectations, because it showed an interesting plot based on futuristic science fiction, a coherent story and characters with non-robotic personalities. But after the twist, it simply became a scoundrel, one dirty trick after another, this anime is practically a hentai, and I almost dropped it because of that. But as the story went on, I became more attracted to the development of the anime, because the bul…

If you look at most of the negative reviews, they essentially read as "I came to watch a hentai and the trash character refused to have sex" If you want to purely see animated breasts go watch a hentai, this isn't that. Mind you, there's nudity in every episode as well as fan service, however there is definitely a story to be told here. The story: A few males with rare diseases are frozen so cures can be found for them, a virus dessimates the male population, a few males who were frozen are brought back later on to try and repopulate civilization. Now, that's a great premise for all the sex you could possibly want to see but why in the world would you watch anything with a storyline, just go watch a hentai. Instead we actually get a story where, yes, we see the world trying to get the men…

Oh god why is this the first anime i review...... The story has a bit of a star-crossed lovers element to it, which is a trope i am weak for, and it does manage a nice balance in world building, intrigue and character development. It is by no means a killer 10/10 anime, but i came into it looking for some ecchi smut. While it certainly achieves that goals (easily), there are some interesting turns, some very likeable character and some absolutely stupid anime/hentai plot moments that'll make you laugh for sure. Small warning(and kinda spoiler i guess): these 11 episodes end at a point where the story is far from complete, and does leave you on a cliffhanger of sorts. I came into this anime looking for some ecchi smut, and i did get alot of that. Nobody will disagree, though some people wi…

“World's End Harem” is what happens when an intern is given two different scripts, told to take them to the director, drops them then mixes them together while picking them up in an attempt to cover up the fact that he has a drinking problem. There is a polish movie from 1984 called “Sexmission”. Watching this anime reminded me of it. The premises have a lot in common. That said “Sexmission” is a classic, well written and a bit cheesy movie and “World’s End Harem” is something You’ll forget a few minutes after the last episode wraps up. We experience the world from the perspective of 2 equally boring and bland protagonists: Number 2 aka Reito Mizuhara - former med student that after awakening to the new world decides he doesn’t want to play ball with the powers that be and starts his…

Much better than expected, I want a new season for now! My expectation when starting to see this anime was basically none, I expected to see something like a base story as an excuse to have ecchi and fanservice in the anime, luckily I was wrong. The main plot is a very promising premise, that's what captivated me to start watching the anime, and the anime conveyed everything I wanted to pass on to the viewer, when I watch an anime I don't stick to technical questions to evaluate if it's good or if it's bad, in this case I think that if the technical production was better crafted and the budget was a little bigger, it would be one of the best anime of the genre, without any exaggeration. Do you know what makes an anime good or not? If you feel embraced by the work. The characters aren't sup…

Ok, so my review may have been a month late.....but, let's just cut the crap.... So, Shuumatsu no Harem, wtf was studio , "Studio Gokumi and AXsiZ" thinking when they decided to make an anime of such very pathetic manga adaptation, honestly, the manga itself was bad and this being adapted to an anime was just as worse as the manga itself and not to mention as worse as the one who created it an individual maned "LINK", so let's get down to brass tax: Story-Pathetic 1: Ok, so the plot was set in some sort of dystopian future where at first two protagonist where diagnosed with some kind of rear disease (leave it to them Japs to come out with some kind of mysterious sickness), one is a super genius college undergrad Mizuhara, Reito and a wussy Highschooler " Doi, Shouta" were made to undergo…

This might be the smartest written harem anime I have ever seen. I actually liked it so much, I started reading the manga. While a bunch of reviews just dismiss this show as a shameless male fantasy (It has "Harem" in the name dude, why did you even watch it then?) Honestly this show plays out more like a horror story if anything. Admittedly it does initially start with too much emphasis on the harem aspect. Instead of getting the audience invested, I think the first scene actually hurts the audience's first impression by misconstruing the tone of the series. There's a lot to appreciate past that. The story follows 2 main characters. Both are 1 of 5 remaining men on the planet capable of surviving the airborne virus which wiped out all men on Earth. As such, they are the only ones capabl…

this anime is pathetic...let me tell you why... the story of this anime starts off promising, a disease kills all men except for those cryonically frozen and reanimated after the disease has run its course...the idea is there, that the men can now begin a fantasy of having any woman anytime they'd like... the problem is the art and animation are of absolutely abominable quality. The main characters attitude is completely unrealistic, the producers take ZERO chances in the follow through, the antagonists motives make zero sense, there is no relatability, and even the harem aspect feels cheap essentially the anime turns on its heels at the very beginning and what should have been a crazy and risky af harem anime turns into something completely different...its almost like the studio consid…

This is an ecchi anime … no if or buts … and honestly why I watched it. To get the “full experience”, I also watched the uncensored version. There was an ample supply of fan service, ecchi scenes, and of course, lots lots of boobs. The female characters were all very nicely drawn and attractive. The far-fetched premise of the story about the MK or man killer virus is a bit ridiculous but this is an anime so we should suspend our disbelief on that. Anyway, we currently live in the COVID era so world epidemics are a reality. However, what I could not accept was the MC, attempting to find a cure for the MK virus. He was only a medical student. It was not even established whether he was a standout or genius. But still he broadcasted to all that he was going to try and find a cure ??? Tsk Tsk…

What was the point of this show ? A story about how suddenly a virus wipes out a part of humanity. Said Humanity, tries to encapsulate said "wiped out part" as "numbers". From the first EP to the ending EP, I saw a numbwitted MC being a child till the end. The only one to develop a decent charisma got little to no screentime. The girls were well artistic but lackluster Honestly, you could had watched porn and called it a day. Even hentai have better story with actual "plot" to go with. What an eyesore of a show and what a waste of time.

I'm not gonna write a poem for this hen... EHM... anime, ehm, anyway... STORY: 6 This anime, in my opinion could have had a really nice story. The protagonist wants to find the truth behind this MK Virus and... that's good! ... If only they prioritized his story. The first episodes started with him trying to find his girl and starting to discover the truth, then we're introduced to another man, the mythic Doi! After that we only see him banging one girl after another for like... 3 or 4 episodes? ART: 5 Nothing special, the budget probably went in the s*x scenes. Both characters and backgrounds were pretty basic (not that I expected something). SOUND: 6 Ehm... does the m*aning count? No? Fine... What can I say, the voice actors were fine, both male and female. The opening was... kinda go…

As a feminist, I truly did enjoy this anime. It spoke to me on a personal level and I could really relate to the situation our cast finds themselves in. The usage of men in this anime was quite phenomenal. using them as breeding machines improves the world by creating social segregation of sex and gender, which as a feminist I quite relate to as I identify myself with at least 3 different genders. I loved the part where they showed how absolute shit the world became after every man died. It truly showed men's contribution to society and how dependent we truly are on them (as breeding machines). The American feminist woman with the big titties definitely shows and represents a lot of modern cancel culture within feminism, which I truly loved. Like how in episode 5 she threatened to ca…

In terms of being a fan service anime, honestly I think this was a massive disappointment. Heck, Sono Bisque Doll (My Dress-up Darling) from the same season is substantially better as a fan service anime, albeit having no seggs. I really don't understand what this anime was trying to achieve. It was trying too hard in the worldbuilding department while showing non-stop seggs every single episode. As a result, it failed to deliver neither successful plot nor satisfying lenny faces. Story 4/10 I'm gonna be honest here - it did somehow manage to make me a bit intrigued at first - which didn't last long. Story involving Mizuhara Reito was boring af. This mf refused to have seggs for some genuinely stupid reasons when he is literally one of the very few living men on earth. Instead, he tr…

Positive things Doji: for me the best of the series, he is at least a decent character although he is a bit mediocre due to his forced development, anyway he seems to me the best of the series mainly because almost nothing is redeemable from the series Chloe: Chloe also seems very interesting to me, in fact, she seems to me the best of the entire series and the best character in fact of all this, everything focuses on the fact that we already knew her before, so discovering her true identity in my opinion was interesting She also seems to be a good antagonist, but since the series is over, she will remain a decent person, although I was a little disappointed with all that that she was part of the plan to exterminate men. The villains: In my opinion they antagonized the series well The…

You've heard the term 'Down-bad', the definition of which being: "When someone is depressingly horny", now get ready for 'Down-good', when something good comes out of being depressingly horny. World's End Harem, or Shuumatsu no Harem as referred to in Japan, is a good example of how to utilize harem in a story fashion, and to develop on characters. Through the series we watch a world in aftermath from a catastrophe, wiping out all but 5 men on earth leaving 4 billion women behind. Of course, like any normal story utilizing this concept, you would have a lot of foolery and fornication, but what you do not normally get is a writer utilizing this concept to expand its story further, towards the characters and even towards politics, introducing alien concepts to the genre of Harem, such as te…

There's nothing worse than a show with potential that fails to deliver. ...Or so I used to think. Shuumatsu no Harem, or World End's Harm, somehow managed to lower my standards. This show had potential. At first, it was actually delivering. The concept was new and interesting, the futuristic setting was beautiful, and the characters were unique. I was genuinely excited to watch for the first few episodes. That just made it even more embarrassing when it turned into a dumpster fire. That was around when things got rapey. The plot fell apart. Any hope of advancing Reito's character was thrashed by the sex freak that is Doi. Also, the original concept of being the "only man" is pretty useless when there are like four. I'm guessing the sponsors must have pulled out, because by the 11th episode…

Shuumatsu no Harem is a series that when I read the synopsis I really thought it was going to be a dumpster fire, however as I watched the series I really got interested in the plot and it was more enjoyable that I thought it would be even if I wasn't expecting much at the beginning. It was kinda interesting seeing different point of views in how to act between the different guys. Reito, instead of having sex as he was told to in the first place, decides to search for the girl he loves and also to create a cure for the MK Virus, and decides to not have sex with every girl he meets. Hino who is very happy as to how he can have sex with basically any girl he wants in this situation, so he is fine with doing what he was told to. And Doi, who started as a middle point between the other two as…

*Implicit spoilers ahead* I'm expecting a surge of reviews with ratings 4 and lower to be the dominant force in this review section, and whilst there is a lot about World's End Harem to dislike, to the point in which I can very well do the same, I come here showing what's good about the show. I mean, I watch anime to enjoy it, if I don't like it I kinda just turn it off, y'know? Despite being something to not take entirely seriously, I'm not very cynical with anime like these. My standards aren't too high as well. The good thing to talk about here is the idea. Well, maybe not crawling into the sociopolitical side of things but the very concept is interesting enough. In a world where operation man bad is a success, we are met with a few individuals who seemingly forgot to turn off noclip…

First, there was Ishuzoku Reviewers a.k.a Interspecies Reviewers, which marked the new 2020s decade of nuttiness, uncensored harem and ecchi glorified for all Men of Culture. Then, there was Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi a.k.a Redo of Healer, which marked 2021 with an outrageous revenge story, harem and ecchi uncensored if you wish to see all the pain and burn from an objectively wrecked MC. Now, there is the trash of harem anime: Shuumatsu no Harem a.k.a World's End Harem, which marks the brand new year of 2022 of the same feeling you got from Redo of Healer, except that if you'd put the current world events in toll, you'll have the same objectivity. Yes that's right, COVID (and now Omicron) has struck this anime, delaying it by a season to finally air right smack in the new year of 202…
