I genuinely don't know what the fuck I just watched.
Osamake had a premise that sounded like it could've been fun. Childhood friend romance, love triangles, revenge, misunderstandings, dramatic bullshit, all that good stuff. The title basically tells you exactly what you're supposed to expect: the childhood friend isn't going to fucking lose. And honestly? I would've been completely fine with a dumb, entertaining romcom that just committed to that idea.
Instead, this anime somehow turned into one of the most nonsensical pieces of bullshit I've watched.
The biggest problem by FAR is the writing. 1/10. I'm not even trying to be harsh with that score. The story constantly feels like it's being held together with duct tape. Characters make decisions because the plot needs them to, misunders…

Ayo, this anime has got to be one of the best harem-romance anime I've ever seen but, why is the rating so low? Like, where was the problem? The animation was amazing, the story is just ecstatic, the character development is solid, the way everybody's past has been shown is perfect and the fact that every character(even the side characters) are aware of their feelings, the MC is also not an air-head I mean anyone who would be put in his situation would act the same. All in all, the anime was very relatable which made it a great watch for me. And for those who didn't understand the ending, IT WAS THE ENDING OF THE MOVIE "CHILD KING" NOT THE ANIME, I REPEAT THE ENDING WAS NOT OF THE ANIME. So, stop giving negative remarks on this absolute gem. I just hope the misunderstanding about the endin…

This would be an anime that would score a borderline at 3 and lower than 5. Its pretty subpar. Having meh characters, and flawed storyline. That’s all I gotta say. Its not the worse in the world however, because there are some good gems into it like the comedy which is there and some pretty decent music which makes up for the issues I have explained earlier.
If this has a second season, I would probably give this a similar score if it remains the same, but if they happened to improve on the episodes for the second season, then I would give this higher than even a 5. I feel like this anime needs a season 2 and the reason this should really NEED a second season is that the ending just feels incomplete and It’s really misunderstood to the fact it has zero logic and zero common sense into it.…

If you were to ask me what genre of story I hate, the answer I’d give is that I don’t hate any, and that’s the truth. What I will say however is that while there are no genres I hate, there are genres that for whatever reason give me more trouble than other ones, and that varies from person to person. I mentioned in my "Those Snow White Notes" review that music anime and I don’t precisely see eye-to-eye that often, and romantic comedy would be the other one that immediately comes to mind. Regardless, I do find it important to see entertainment in those genres that give you trouble, because as I often say to my own music students, “There are no genres you dislike – there are merely pieces of music you like in those genres that you have yet to listen to.” Finding those things c…

Probably contain spoiler, i warm you my friend
I make it short and quick since this is old anime, almost a year old so i use old review template, its pros and cons
Based on my experience back in 2021 (because i didnt use MAL yet, so i didnt write review that day)
Pros :
Loveable character, they have solid lineup, Kachi is basically the most mature woman in this anime, Kuroha is also solid childhood friend who didnt cringe as much as other character in other anime, Maria is basically yea cringe little sister (i didnt call her as heroine, i prefer her become little sister more than lover)
Everyone have pretty good relationship, like kachi like haru when first meet him during haru first visit to her mansion, kuroha basically like big sister who always there for haru, and maria is just like…

I can't give this anime a note of 10/10 ( Masterpiece ) cause' the Story and the " Romance " sh1t sucks a lot.
I will never like to see a " revenge " thing in a romance genre Movie/Anime for love, cause it's not worth it, a " revenge " for " love " can cause a lot of trouble in the current state or " relationship ".
What I mean it's that ( and what I don' like )( and what I think ) it's that EVERYTHIME
when Kachi Shirosuka was gonna do something with Maru Sueharu aka Suu-chan he was telling to Kai Tetsuhiko.
Same thing it's gonna apply for Shida Kuroha, if they talked to Maru Sueharu about something in private, after they finished talking and everyone left, they would start and telling everything to Kai Tetsuhiko.
So overall this is the thing that I hate about this Anime, but there a lot m…

A fresh retake on the old Childhood friend RomCom
Destroyed by a frankly lackluster execution.
You have a beautiful trio of ladies with their own takes on the past of the MC.
Each one with a different take to falling in to a relationship with the MC.
This show should had been so much better, but instead in an effort to emphasize the childhood friend.
Broadcasted her as an over the top Highschooler with on-the-go decision making but with the mindset of a gradeschooler. As you watch by the episodes, the story does slowly develop on to the MC's past being the prime of the series but.
It then suddenly comes to a screeching halt when all it felt like.
Were two lackluster attempts at capturing the heart of the MC with again his past being the prime.
You, the reader can probably understand.

ARE YOU DEBATING ON WATCHING THIS?
I think I've gathered a good consensus to try and defend it and I'll list the charges that it's convicted of then state my case. I spoil a few things just to get my point across for evidence but I think seeing it played out will still have the intended effect.
CHARGE A: EPISODE 1 - A no brainer. So, I started this and really liked the character designs. I was thinking it was going to go a route where she's been there for him this whole time. Nope. They make it a revenge plot, which is a stupid plot but that's not where it ends up staying. To make his crush, Kachi, jealous, this girl, Kuro, volunteers to be his revenge girlfriend. Why her? She's genuinely interested. Some people do like this though and were just disappointed that it wasn't a parody.

Before I get into how much and why I hate this series, I'll say the things I like about it.
It has a pretty good op and ed.
Now, onto why I despise this awful anime.
I have two main problems, the story, and the characters. First off, the story, each part of the story is a mess of drama where the problems are only barely solved because of the ineptitude of the characters trying to solve them. Its story runs like a bad satirical romcom that doesn't realize that its satire. The only funny parts of this show are seeing the failures of its writing team either at actually writing a functional story or writing funny jokes. I wouldn't be surprised if the writers were arriving at work under the influence of alcohol and/or several heavy substances. Any plot point is as if someone sniffed a sharpi…

"Damn it! My IQ is melting away..." - Maru Sueharu...
...and every person who finished this anime.
Before I begin, let me answer the obvious. Does this show need another bad review? No, of course not. Especially when I'm a few weeks late to the party cause I was on holiday and otherwise too busy with better shows. That being said, I'm gonna write one anyway because my other options include starting work on my dissertation and data wrangling. The choice is obvious.
OVERALL 3/10
Osamake had a promising concept and start, but fell short on everything I was hoping it would deliver. If you have 6 hours you would like to spend and then forget about them in a month, I highly recommend this show. If, on the other hand, you want a novel take on the love comedy formula, look elsewhere.

I have NEVER hated an anime as much as I do this one. I dreaded seeing the notification that a new episode was released. I felt obligated to watch this. Silly me for having high hopes. The characters are bland, dumb and overall just generic. I cared so little for all the characters and the piss poor story. I literally couldn't remember what happened minutes after watching this.
I like harems: Love Hina, shuffle, Haganai, Oresuki.
Heck, I even like trashy harems like Kissxsis and Hensuki.
BUT THIS... this was bad. Like REALLY bad.
Save yourself the trouble and don't watch this. There's nothing redeeming about this anime.

You know what? I am satisfied. Not because this show is good or anything profound like that, but because I’ve actually enjoyed myself after having had a pretty large dry spell between the last trashy harem I liked to this trashy harem I like. And my god, you just had to get both Matsuoka Yoshitsugu and Shimazaki Nobunaga in this thing too now didn’t you?
Story:
After having had his first love taken from him by Kachi Shirokusa, an acclaimed author that seemed to have been interested in him at the time, former child star Maru Suehara vows to take revenge on the girl by coming up with an elaborate scheme of pretending to get together with his childhood friend as a way to get back at Shirokusa, before promptly confessing to and dumping her at the school’s confession festival when that rolls…

OsaMake is a show that I uhhhhhh didn't enjoy. The "plot" was so nonsensical I actually laughed out loud at certain moments because it was just so dumb, calling this show full of tropes is an understatement, I've seen people say this is a "parody" of the genre but they do it terribly if it is, look at OreSuki for a good example. The art was nothing remarkable, the soundtrack wasn't in the slightest bit memorable, the characters aside from the main girls were incredibly bland and some of them unlikable. The main reason I even paid any attention to this show after the first like 2 episodes was because of the main girls Shiro and Maria (and Kuro after she got more tolerable). They absolutely carried this show and were really the only think I liked about it, they had some really cute moments a…

Really disappointed with how this show went. As others have said, started with a great premise and solid first few episodes. Even the early twist was good IMO, because it set up an interesting dynamic where there wasn't a question of who liked who from the viewer perspective, but rather an issue of everyone overcoming the awkwardness of teenage emotions and mistakes.
Things went SERIOUSLY downhill after that though. Only one love interest was a truly genuine, kind person who tried to support Haru, while the other two were constantly being manipulative and self-serving.
It devolved into a repetitive my-turn-your-turn that was unsatisfying, and the sub-plot did very little to advance the main plot; it wasn't necessary, everything that happened could have been done without it. It was a dist…

Welcome to the cliche show of the season.
Not the worst anime this season, but is certainly the least interesting one.
The story is cliche, no point in telling otherwise. But it's really not bad, at least in my opinion. It relies heavily on cliche, you know, the usual "sad" backstory for mc, girls falling for him just because, and the shenanigans throughout the show. It's honestly baffling how much cliche this anime is. Like, the average weeb can basically become a prophet when watching this anime. That's how bad it is. But it's not bad, just a bit cringe at times.
The characters are below average. Like, they literally are just a collection of archetypes just for the plot itself to work. Just like I said before, I hate this type of characters the most because they are restricted to the p…

Character design, art was really great, but this anime just couldn't express the story in such a way that the viewer feel attached to it somehow. The Idea was interesting at first and we all wanted to know which girl will win in the end but the way they conveyed the story just ruined everything. This is one of those anime that I had to finish because i started it, I lost interest in midway of the story but still kept at it to see if something good come out but .....,
Characters were really good and had there own story line and everything not like some anime out there which shows the side character with blank faces. Every character which came on screen had something to do with the story but the story just beat it around the bush and ruined the whole anime. I mean half way through I couldn'…

To understand how the anime community got from the awkward HenSuki, then strong OreSuki to the ass-pull OsaMake (this show), here are 2 excerpts of the interview between Joey The Anime Man and novelist Rui Tsukiyo, the author of Redo of Healer:
"Let me give you a common scenario: You have a woman crazed with jealousy. She corners the protagonist and forces him to sexually assault her. Doesn't that say that you...that women love r**e? Conversely, the genre women hate the most is the harem love-comedy style (that's) filled with women fawning over the protagonist and softcore fanservice. According to my research, thes shows appeal to very few women. When heroines fawn over the protagonist, I have a feeling that's a deal breaker for most female viewers. But I only realized this after the fact…

A failed attempt at an amazing concept.
Initially when looking at the shows I was potentially going to watch this Spring 2021 season, this show’s title caught me by the corner of my eye. ‘Osananajimi ga Zettai ni Makenai Love Comedy’ or otherwise known as, ‘Osakmake: The Romcom Where The Childhood Friend Won’t Lose’. Sounds amusingly interesting, right?
I’m sure everyone who has watched a handful amount of harem type shows has felt the pain of the childhood friend getting surprised sucker punched at the end of the series by another heroine. Osamake’s concept was supposed to be different though: “A romcom where the childhood friend won’t lose!”, is what author, Shuichi Nimaru, thought of when creating this genius idea. Or so we thought.
Shortly into the series, we learn that all of the h…

'What a mess of a show,my word'
If i could summaries this show with one sentence, it would be that
lets go with the obvious things,
Story:
when i looked over the anime that will be release this season, i usually picked the one that interest me. by what i mean, is i look over their poster because i like to watch my anime blindly. so the first ep of this show just make me facepalm so hard since it defies logic ( well for me anyway ) how could u reject someone infront of a class and not get embarrassed. the funny thing is kuro still likes the dude i mean wth lmao. now, lets go to the actual story that ive gathered from this show. its a abt a boy name sueharu, a child actor that retired from acting due to personal reason, and follows him as he tries to pick which of his 'childhood friend' t…

Okayyyyyy…. Another Rom-Com. Great…. (this summer is gonna be packed full of them yay…)
Okay, time to regress in my speech to give you a very very very easy to read summary of Osamake.
Ex-child kid star Sueharu meets a girl in high school named Shiro. He Falls in love with that popular girl (turns out to be a famous writer). Turns out that girl has a boyfriend. *Protagonist heart shattered* Goes and teams up with his childhood friend named Kuroha to get revenge on said girl that broke his heart.
Turns out that girl was a superfan back in his time as a child TV star. She fell in love with said boy. Meets him back in high school but sees him with his childhood friend. *Girl’s heartbroken* Said girl gets a fake boyfriend to get revenge on said boy.
Nani! Yeah, the misunderstandings in t…
