Love After World Domination

Love After World Domination

Introduction

Fudou Aikawa and Desumi Magahara have just started dating, but no one is allowed to know! Nicknamed "Red Gelato," Fudou is the leader of "Gelato 5," a group of heroes dedicated to protecting Japan. On the other hand, the "Reaper Princess" Desumi is one of the combatant leaders of "Gekko," an evil secret society bent on world domination and considered Gelato 5's greatest foe. As they pretend to be mortal enemies, Fudou and Desumi sneak away from battle to spend time together. Despite their inexperience with romance, Fudou and Desumi strive to make their relationship work while avoiding suspicion from their comrades. With their loyalties divided between each other and their respective sides, the couple will have to stay on guard if they want to keep their love a secret from the rest of the world. This show is what happened when Nishikata got fed up with Takagi's constant teasing and decided to become a power ranger, before falling in love with Marin who got too into her character while cosplaying as Cha Hae In. It exactly sounds ridiculous the way I want it to be: Fudo, the leader of the world’s greatest superhero team, is dating Desumi, one of the strongest fighters in an evil organization trying to conquer the world. They’re supposed to be mortal enemies, but instead they’re sneaking around trying to have a normal relationship. You know, normal couple stuff... Like holding hands while actively committing treason against your respective organizations. Their relationship is genuinely loving, supportive, and surprisingly healthy. Instead of dragging out the usual rom-com nonsens…

You know what? It really had me on the first half. I love leg kicking romance, y'know? The giggly kind that gets me rolling in my bed. This was just that for about six episodes where these two were evolving in a cute, albeit, very immature anime-fyed relationship. Yes, forbidden love, one of my favourite romance tropes when done right, but I could say that about anything. I'll say, this felt like a well-realized, first-time double autism romance, instead of a naive couple. I liked it, and It would be fine if it stayed that, but evolved, and made sense, yet, this one doesn't do that. The story eventually becomes pure forced conflicts that don't evolve the relationship, which I deeply hated. Instead of both characters having the reigns of it, the world starts trying to put a foot on it.…

This anime kicks ass. It is cute, nicely animated and just a solid watch. Great job from the dub cast! An excellent 90's style rom com. Holds up to multiple viewings. Characters are adorable. Sound is solid. Music is extra silly. Side characters are well done! Every episode is just warm and cozy vibes. Fuck the haters. This show is adorable, but I actually wish it offered some more episodes to wrap things up. Both of the main characters are entertaining to watch together. This is just a good time! Grab a blanket, eat some pizza and stop worrying so much.

So this is a romcom. The twist is, you take your everyday average romcom's last episode and make it the first ep of LAWD. So they confess in the first ep and it goes on from there. The whole show is rather average if you look closely, there's nothing exceptionally good or bad about it. But I must admit after watching a few romcoms I was really missing the part where the MCs enjoy their relationship. Yeah here everything is easy and stakes are looow, any problems they have they just resolve by talking. Starts with the first ep (not a spoiler really and greatly simplified): -b-b-but we are mortal enemies -yes but I love you and I'm sure we'll work it out -hmm, if you say so then let's try! After seeing countless "will they won't they's", stretchings the plot thin, delays, misunderstandings…

I felt like I was watching the anime the anime character is supposed to watch inside the anime itself to avoid copyright laws. The overall concept is great, but it's an anime heavily dependent on interesting and unique characters, which becomes a problem when the characters have little to no identifiable traits and are just bland, boring, and cliche. There really isn't anything inherently wrong with this show, it's just your generic romance, and there are some instances where it is above-average in the entertainment department, but they never did anything to flesh out any aspect of the series. Not to mention, the conflict between Gekko and Gelato feels more like "we're gonna spar in public but frame it as hero vs. supervillain so we can do what we want without regard to public safety" rat…

I give this anime an instant 9-10 for its effort and comedy. Koi wa Sekai Seifuku no Ato is an anime that reminds me of both Power Rangers and Romeo and Juliet. The story is basically about this team of 5 kids aka the "Gelato 5", which consists of red, blue, yellow, green, pink who are fighting against these villians to protect the people of Japan. Fudo (red) falls in love at first sight with Desumi aka "the reaper princess", one of the Gekkos leaders. I'm not going to far into explaining the rest of the story cause you should watch oi was Sekai Seifuku no Ato de yourselves. The story mostly focuses on the inexperience romance of Desumi and Fudo also with the struggles of avoiding suspicious acts upon their team mates. The art is amazing but why does Fudo remind me of the dude in Summer…

Here is my recommendation before the review; just avoid losing time with ep 11. What I like about this anime is that it aimed to be a simple romcom, and it delivered. There was one obvious problem that almost every anime has lately, and a few small ones. The obvious problem for me was that episode 11 shouldn’t exist, it was a terrible filler that makes us lose time. Why not just make the anime shorter and have a great anime? The other problems was that there were some lazy material xD. Also mc was a little too easy on some people, the girl mc is dressed extra slutty for no reason, maybe I’m being naive here but idk, you guys tell me. Lastly, why was one team named Gelato? I still think it is a fine anime tho.

A romantic comedy about the Red Ranger/Sentai and the villainess lieutenant dating while attempting to keep it secret from everyone around them. Basically you should know exactly what you're getting into after reading that brief summary. It's cute and adorable but it's also very cliché and full of tropes but you'll enjoy it anyways. I know I did. The first episode is so-so but it quickly picks up right after. You get a nice idea about Fudo's (The Red Sentai) teammates personalities but they actually don't do much in the anime. Whereas Desumi's (the Reaper Villainess) coworkers and friends actually get much more screen time and development and they're all very enjoyable and funny. It's a fun RomCom, it's lighthearted, it's cute, it's straightforward, and it's only 12 episodes. Give it a…

The first 7 epsidoes of this anime was such a fresh take on shoujo forbidden love stories. I was obsessed with Fudo and Desumi, and the fact that they actually communicate quite well, another trope this show breaks, and they genuinely support one another. they find their own definition of love, even if its talking about what bug is the strongest, or working out at their first date. Desumi is the shining star of this anime, carries my 10/10 character rating, fudo is also a 9/10 or a 10/10, but desumi is still written better. The show only has like 4 recognizable songs, but I really did love those 4 songs, there was a theme that was used during a lot of sad or emotional moments and that song was a banger. However, this is where the compliments stop. After episode 8 was finished I realized I…

This has been more of a school-girl romance-centric Anime than a Sentai-themed Rom-Com sketch comedy. It has its fun moments, filled heavily with cutesies and cheesiness. But for me, it's a bummer that the "Sentai" concept didn't really contribute much to the comedy other than serving as the obstacle between the couple. In short, it's heavier on ROM(ance) than COM(edy). STORY: The synopsis says it all but I'd say it's less than what's stated there. Fudou and Desumi trying to hide their relationship didn't really have much weight to it as the show often shows them casually being together mid-battle anyways. It's just that there are some "dating" things they usually want to do but couldn't do in the open. They do usually end up managing to pull it off anyways with little to no issues other…

POWER RANGERS GO! Wait, wrong show. Love After World Domination focuses on the Hero Red Gelato and the Evil Organization's Reaper Princess, and how they try to hide their love from everyone else. Don't let the idea of a love story turn you off from this show, because it is an equal part comedy as well. Fudo (Red Gelato) is your basic meathead gym bro, and Desumi (Reaper Princess) is a shy girl who enjoys cute things despite the fact that she is just as strong, if not stronger, than Fudo. The show mostly revolves around them sneaking off and having a hard time with simpler dating issues due to neither person having any dating experience whatsoever. The other characters don't get a ton of time to shine, but they tend to still be enjoyable, with Beast Princess being arguably the best side c…

It's really hard for an anime to stand out in the stellar field of Spring 2022 Anime that had a great mix of heavy hitters with under the radar fresh hits that went viral, but Love After World Domination (you realize this abbreviates to LaWd!) manages to do it because if its interesting premise combined with a top tier waifu! Fudou Aikawa, portrayed as Red Gelato, the main tank in Gelato 5, clearly a parody of the power rangers falls in love with Desumi Magahara, the "Reaper Princess", a combatant leader of "Gekko," an evil secret society bent on world domination. Their organizations are at war, so the two try to "date" IN secret, in Public!! Story - 6/10 The story is fairly predictable with the characters falling into tried and true stereotypes but kudos to the mangaka for inventing r…

Love After World Domination is a very good show, it isn’t that deep or takes itself that seriously, but it doesn’t need to because the comedy is very good and its overall just a fun show. At times it The characters Fudo and Desumi are both fun characters. Fudo does not have much to him besides being the typical strong thick headed buy, but he is serviceable as a secondary main character Desumi on the other hand I think is a well written character whose is just a lot of fun to follow she has family struggles and trys to live up to them and does many things to please them while still trying to be nice to everyone she meets. There isn’t a ton to the side characters they each get their mini arcs to shine and do a decent job at it. The plot is simple and well executed, a hero falls in love…

Welcome to part two of taking the p**s out of super sentai shows. In part one, we delved into corporate life of the villain workplace in Miss Kuroitsu from the Monster Development Department (which was probably the most underrated show of last season). In part two, we now tell a classic tale of Romeo and Juliet, but with Power Rangers and hey, I’m all for it. It was one of the show before the season aired that grabbed my interest. Was worth my attention? Yes, yes it was and here’s why. Sit back, relax and go go power on your kettle to make yourself a cup of coffee as I present to you the anime review for Love After World Domination. Let’s begin Story: 7/10 Good and evil clash in battles as the heroes, “Gelato 5” fight the evil organisation, “Gekko” to prevent them from taking over t…

“What would you like to be when you grow up?” Most children say “a doctor”, “a pilot”, or other intriguing mainstream professions. These jobs all differ in functionalities and skill set but one thing stays the same, free will. Most children can choose of their own volition. But for Magahara Desumi that choice was never presented to her. At least not until the events of this anime. *This review contains minor spoilers that are highlighted* Love After World Domination is a story about 2 star-crossed lovers and their trysts whilst trying to hide their relationship from everyone in their lives. However, contrary to the show’s premise, this show doesn’t take itself too seriously. Exemplified by the villain organization Gekko being less harmful than a housefly and everyone’s Hannah Montana’s…

Wow an anime that actually balances comedy and romance perfectly, and has many well-developed characters that aren't the main cast, instant 9. This anime actually surprised me, because the premise isn't really something new; forbidden love. However, the way they executed it was well done and pretty funny. So, the story focuses on the hero team Gelato 5 and the villain organization Gekko, like other romcoms with this formula, two people from the opposing sides fall in love, and the show focuses on how they develop as a couple and how they hide it from the public. I don't think this anime focuses on the story, It's more on enjoyment and character development. What elevates this show though, is the pure nonsense put into the world. Take the time where they confess to each other, fudo (male…

This show might be the dumbest thing I've ever watched, but it doesn't change the fact that it's pretty good. If you told me that there would be an anime where the Red Ranger dates Rita Repulsa I wouldn’t know how to react. I still dont know how to react after finishing it. All I can really say is that if you're looking for a funny anime that you can just enjoy then this is the one. Art: 9 The art and animation are pretty good. I think the character designs are pretty creative and I personally enjoyed watching a bear with cannons. In all seriousness, the art compliments the anime really well. Sound: 9 The sound design did what it needed to do. The sounds they would use in the background really suited the silliness of the show, also the op is actually perfect. An absolute banger. Characte…

2 minutes in, and you perfectly know how the show going to be. Under the cherry blossom trees, a tsundere offers her homemade cookies with slight cleavage, to a guy in tight red suit & he accepts them, all the while a battle between your favorite fruit-colored rangers and some skull-masked goons happens in the background equipped with flashy guns, punches and tight suits "Love After World Domination" (LAWD) is about "Desumi Magahara", the Death princess of an evil organization known as 'Gekko' & "Fudo Aikawa", the leader of the Gelato 5 hero squad which opposes Gekko. Despite being rivals, they end up falling in love with each other and now, they have to progress their forbidden love story while still keeping it a secret from the entire world. Excluding a certain 2 episodes, what LAWD doe…

To anyone whom has read or seen William Shakespeare's Romeo X Juliet, it's arguably one of the most instantaneously recognizable plays ever to exist in the English playwright-cum poet and actor's life. And it's so famous that even centuries later, many forms of media exist taken as an inspiration (an ode or form of emanation to be precise) to create something original out of it. This happens a lot especially when it comes to mediums like anime, the most recent being mangaka Yousuke Kaneda's ever-so-popular Kishuku Gakkou no Juliet a.k.a Boarding School Juliet which wrapped up in 2019 (the anime adaptation is flawless in my book, and that's saying a lot even 2.5 years later). It's then to my surprise to hear that the next successor to continue this tradition happens in the exact same Romeo…
