Gammamon is probably the cutest Digimon ever, although I can't say the same for its evolution. Most of the Digimon evolutions felt rather average, but I loved the evolution sequence, especially the mega evolution.
The intro and ending songs were fine but not very memorable. The animation quality was decent, reminding me of a mashup of Yo-kai Watch and GeGe no Kitaro. This entry is probably the darkest one yet.
Unlike previous series, humans actually die in this one. Personally, I found the side characters more interesting than the main character—Ruli was definitely the best. I really enjoyed the entire evolution line of Angoramon.
The fight scenes were just okay, and the world-building was fine. It had a promising start, but the pacing was horrible, which ruined the entire season. Overa…

Digimon Ghost Game is one of the newest Digimon seasons, and while it had a great concept and started off good, it ended up being one of the weakest additions to the franchise ever.
Ghost Game has no story except for the last 3 episodes (I think 1 or 2 episodes touch on this plot before the end). That means out of 67 episodes there's only 4-5 episodes with actual plot. That's atrocious storytelling. Being one of the longest Digimon seasons as well, many episodes just feels like a waste of time. I'd recommend simply watching those 5 episodes along with the evolution debut episodes - you would not miss a thing plot-wise. I did however enjoy the horror theme and the creepy vibes.
Here's the thing though, the cast of characters are actually not bad. Hiro, Ruli and Kiyoshiro are all interest…

I would not recommend Ghost Game to most people, this season barely has any plot out of 67 episodes(the longest Digimon season) but at most it has 5 episodes worth of plot. The horror element of the show might interest some people but i still feel it went overboard in many episodes. Why I'm writing this is 'cause I felt it had great potential with a solid cast of kids and their Digimon partners, but because of the lack of plot, they never got to grow. So i will never rewatch this season under normal circumstances, but if I had to choose between Ghost Game and Xross Wars, I would choose Ghost Game every time because at least it still looks and feels like a Digimon season

Really liked the horror theme this season of Digimon was going for, that paired with it's episodic nature gave it a bit of a Twilight Zone vibe.
Unfortunately, it's episodic structure also has it's downsides, leaving little to no room for character developement and plotlines that get teased every few episodes without ever truely progressing
It also suffers from the same problem as Adventure 2020 of the later digivolutions not having much impact, the only exeption i can think of being Jellymon's super-digivolution, managing to create that sense of hype along with giving both her and Higacchi one of the few character developement moments in the series
That said, Ghost Game still remains a fun watch for die-hard Digimon fans to get to see new digimon and old favorites and does have it's sta…

I originally dropped Digimon Ghost Game back in 2023 because I can’t stand the “episodic / monster of the week” formula.
Now, in 2025, I went back and finished the series while rushing through some episodes (some of them were pretty boring and could be easily skippable without losing any important plot on the story)
My verdict: the show had a lot of potential to be something more than the formula I just mentioned. Some people might enjoy it, but for me, a series that doesn’t develop its story and keeps dragging on with stand-alone episodes is a huge no.
On the positive side, the music is a solid 10/10, the series introduced the Vital Bracelets (which I consider the best Digimon device in real life and im having a blast with it right now), Digivolution sequences and overall designs were…

This anime has great potential, and people actually expect a more mature and darker story. However, what we got is like a Scooby-Doo style anime. Sadly, if we skip a lot of episodes, only 20-30 episodes truly matter. You might wanna google which "filler" episodes to skip.
My rating for those 20-30 episodes is 6.7 out of 10.0 because the story is kinda good and some episodes like episode 13 bring the same vibe as the previous installments and make watchers realize "Yeah, I'm watching Digimon, not Pokémon"
As a whole, I might give it a rating of 5.4 out of 10.0 because it still has good animation, introduces a lot of new Digimon, and features good fights between the Digimon.
Without these aspects, maybe I would give it 4.2 out of 10.0. Yeah, it's too boring even for an episodic format an…

Digimon Ghost Game is like watching Gegege no Kitaro, but watered down. Do not expect this anime to return Digimon to glory: it is a set of self-contained stories, which can be entertaining and that play with a large cast of evil digimon and typical Japanese folklore stories and themes to reflect on, although without going too deep. It's disappointing to see how the opportunity to make a good story has been lost. The story is non-existent and is stupidly explained and resolved in the last three chapters, since throughout the series the story barely develops. GulusGammamon takes center stage in the series in his few appearances, which is when you think the central story is going to move forward but absolutely nothing happens.
In short, an anime that has little of Digimon and a lot of Gegeg…

I love Digimon franchise. Every new series is different and makes it feel fresh, even if the similar formula is used (like evolving, which is crucial part of any Digimon). Ghost Game was no exception for this. But this time they took a different approach. As the title of the series implies, is kind of horror story. And maybe it's not as scary as the horror movies, but it gets some creepy moments. That kind of story is even more different than all the other series compared together.
When it started it had a very great potential. First episode was big with plot revolving around digimon stealing time from people. It had also great opportunity to make what Adventure 02 did wrong - the multiple side evolutions. And it actually did pretty good job with it. But there are always two sides of the…

Wow, what a trainwreck of an anime. This anime managed to disappoint me more than I thought it could, and it turned into the all time worst Digimon series. This show actually had a lot of potential, but most of it was wasted down the drain. Let's break it down.
Digimon Ghost Game starts off pretty well, introducing us to an interesting cast of main characters alongside their equally endearing partner digimon. For the first 10 or so episodes we get an episodic approach where we see the first digivolutions, i.e the Champion/Adult level digivolutions, for all 3 main digimon. We've seen other Digimon anime do this, like Tamers and Universe. But what those series did and this one should have as well was to move on from the episodic formula and start to develop the story, even if slowly. Instea…

Digimon Ghost Game is the latest anime installment in the franchise and with the disappointment of Digimon Adventure 2020 one would understandably be hesitant to give it a watch. As such, after finishing its final episode I can safely say that... the recommendation is still up in the air depending on what you're looking for.
On the one hand, compared to its predecessors, here the cast are much more charismatic, cheerful, full of fear and all in all emotional. And I'm not only referring to the main three but the partner Digimon and some of the supporting cast as well. Each of them has a way of approaching things that resonates with their partner and they each have their set of episodes to shine... though some more than others. Plus, the way they come to solve their conflicts isn't just to…
