tl;dr: A sequel season that’s still pretty good but is somewhat losing its charm.
The second season of Nagatoro picks up where the first left off. Nagatoro still teases Senpai, but its not that serious and it’s never to the degree that he really seems to mind. To be honest, it all feels really casual and kind of like background noise. What is being focused on instead this time is better fleshing out Nagatoro, Senpai’s character development, and actual proper relationship development between the two.
Fleshing out Nagatoro was decent, but not particularly engaging. We see a bit of her older sister, who’s amusing in how similar she can be to Nagatoro, but beyond that there isn’t much more to her in what little of her we see. We also get background and somewhat of a character arc for Nagator…

I feel bad for the people who stopped watching after the beginning of Season 1. While at first glance this show is about a slow burn teasing romance between Nagatoro and Naoto, the show actually proves to move beyond this to demonstrate what a healthy relationship looks like. Yes, I'm not joking. To name a few ways in which this is done off the rip: (1) the two of them push each other to be better people and work on their weaknesses, (2) they support each other in their passions, (3) they show that they are capable of teasing each other and being lighthearted without pushing each other's boundaries, (4) and when these boundaries are pushed unintentionally, the character who does this (usually Nagatoro) acknowledges this and does better in the future.

The previous season bothered how the girl (Nagatoro) treated the boy (senpai) since instead of seeming like love it seemed like a toxic relationship of friends with bullying, but here they change and begin to show the love between the two protagonists, not only because it is seen that they really do love each other but because they are already beginning to show that they appreciate each other.

I had a psychotic break down in front of my computer when I was overwhelmed by rage as I realized how appalling this god forsaken show is at the end of episode twelve. I ask myself how I got through it, how I got through those 12 eps. The show has terrible humor broken up by segments of Nagatoro toying with this goofy ass mfer, and that was so dry and slow and awful to listen to that the best characters of the show were the side characters. screw this show but Gamon or whatever her name is is best girl. I pray Ijiranaide, achieves a hasty production schedule for season three as I cannot wait.

Ok, so the sequel has ended and TBH, not much has change......
So:
Story:
Pros: The relationship between aggressive kohai and pussy sempai continues and that's as good as it gets.
Cons: The Sempai was still a pathetic loser/pussy, and the kohai was still very aggressive playful and annoying. Verdict: 5 over 10.
Art:
Pros: Nagatoro's gang being the usual eye candy , most especially with Gamon Maki and there was that guy's sempai Sunomiya, Sana with impressive boobs and butt.
Cons: Nagatoro, Hayase's too simplistic look and there was that Sunomiya, Hana granny look.
Verdict: 5 over 10.

The love starts to appear more and the annoyance starts to fade away
This season is the reason why should everybody continue watching Nagatoro's day life. Because now, their are better characters, considering that their build their relations into the last season, and now, the whole plot of the anime is "how they gonna end together?", totally different when in the last season the most common question was "can she be less annoying?"
Building relations with anyone isn't easy, and the anime shows that in a particular but beautiful way, using motivations and jokes to make the watchers notice the details of getting attached to the feelings or to the person you like. Totally recommended for everyone

This second season, in each chapter, you will realize how the relationship progresses and it is increasingly sweet to watch.
Although the pastel tone of some chapters loses some shine in this second season.
The plot and story progress very well and you won't be disappointed as it has almost no filler and is very faithful to the manga.

Damn this was very nice, I didn't think that a series that began with bullying would reach something that would make the heart so happy.

Andrew Tate's Worst Nightmare.
I like to believe Andrew Tate turned out the way he has because he had a Nagatoro teasing him relentlessly during his childhood. But unlike Andrew Tate who took his Nagatoro’s attempts at flirtation as an attack on his masculinity, and grew into a raving misogynistic weirdo who now has less money and cars than me as of the time of writing because he’s being held for sex trafficking, the artist formally known as senpai continues to strive to be a better, less wimpy person than he was the day before so he can give payback to Nagatoro somehow, and maybe even hold her hand and smooch her a little.

Just like the 1st season, it's been the usual redundant chick-teases-cherry boy act, filled with blush-desu moments every episode.
The most fruitful improvement for this season has been the utilization of the side characters. Which unfortunately happened a little too late. Nagatoro's friends should've been involved in the bits way more often to lead the MCs into situations, since the beginning. And the new character should've shown up even just a bit earlier in this season.
Quite a shame since this actually had some story progress: Naoto finally trying to change bit by bit and slowly learning to speak his mind, Nagatoro's teases ricocheting more often, turning the table on herself, and Naoto learning more about Nagatoro.
But I do give this series a fair amount of props for leaning more on…

Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san 2nd Attack (2023)
The love story carries on getting deeper and deeper. I love how the show is taking a more serious note and getting through to the real stuff. You can only laugh and joke for so long before something happens. The show as usual is very pure and people's mindsets are realistic with this.
The art is much crisper but has the same style as before which is fantastic.
The sound is good fun and enjoyable. I love the emotion the show brings.
The characters develop well and you do really get to know more about why people are the way they are and how they come through to change. I would love more background on Senpai. A few great twists in the story really brought out the best of the characters.
I want this to get adapted again and continue its story…

Season 2 improved the Nagatoro formula in a big way IMO. Senpai grew a spine and became much less of a wimp. Nagatoro’s bullying got more flirty and endearing. As a whole, Season 2 was really, really cute.
As far as the things I think make up an anime adaptation:
Voice acting was still just as on point as it was in season 1, with the addition of a new member to the cast in Sayumi Suzushiro, who was also excellent. I think they actually improved the music too for this season. I ended up downloading the OP for a mix tape. The animation was also just as good as season 1, with amplified wiggle-taro.

Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san at this point needs no introduction, not because of its popularity but because this is the entry of its second season we’re in rn. It is one of those romcoms that are about a girl teasing a boy, however this one started a little bit more extremely than normal, the first episode is downright bullying, Nagatoro came and made cry Naoto right away in there, and you can understand why people had a lot of disgust with this series, because honestly it comes across as a little distasteful, but once you go past that point you realize that this isn’t about bullying, and thank God for that because this series wouldn’t cover that topic with a modicum of sensitivity. I'll be honest and straight for once, there is not much improvement here from the very controversial season 1.... but there is a genuine attempt at a good romance.
Nagatoro used to be a little too edgy during season 1, but the "Bullying" in the season was somewhat debatable. but without a doubt, season 2 has toned it down and had us explore more of the softer aspects of the relationship between nagatoro , senpai, "Furendessu" and a new character "Anetoro".
