It was a comfort anime during hard time at that point in my life when I found it.
The way the creators represent the meaning with the interactions, the inside monologes and the art style, is just charming and heart warming. You will start to laugh and melt at the same time.
All the characteds are so real. And it feels natural how they become friends. It was so smooth. I mean all 4 of them are so different by age, by interest, yet in every episode we can see how they become closer.
Thx to make that manga and then adapt this anime. Becouse since I saw it I started to accept my clumsyness and don't take that badly and seriously when I make mistakes.
Recommend it everybody who's searching something relaxing yet funny.

Life shouldn't be taken that seriously; that has to be one of the many things I got from this anime.
It may have not had a concrete plot and it may have been a simple story between clumsy guys, but that's what made it so light and comforting to watch. It's so refreshing to find anime that simply makes you laugh, giggle, and snicker. That has to be one of the strengths of this anime. I also love how each character had their respective kind of "clumsy," which made each of them special and amusing on their own way. I do wish we got to see more of Igarashi. He was a character that I did not expect coming and he sort of came out of nowhere. I also did not really understand what kind of a clumsy guy he was, but I do believe he played a huge role in the story.
Overall, this anime was just a br…

- watched after reading all of the available volumes at a bookstore; i think the manga is a better format
- first time with a ten minute format; i think it suits the vibe of the series perfectly
- lowk makes me think of a male version of skip and loafer with the relationships of every character interweaving with each other
- so relatable and funny and meaningful; i love series that are little snapshots of people's every day lives
- each character is a main character in their own right
- art and colors are pretty faithful to the manga
- i'm excited for the future of this series

I genuinely liked this show a lot. It's a very cosy, comforting feel-good anime. Nothing too flashy, just day- to-day things in the day-to-day lives of a group of guys. The thing I liked the most about this anime is that our protagonists range from school going to college students to working adults. It's a breath of fresh air to see that the one being silly and nonchalant is not a cherry picked pre-pubescent boy.
I would have given the Anime a higher rating because I really found it therapeutic but there are a few things that kept me from doing the same.
The first thing is obviously the fetishization of male relationships. It's really difficult to find a new anime where the male characters interact normally and its not a BL bait. Honestly, I have kind of given up. So I tried to ignore t…

If you want to watch something relatable, relaxing, healing, funny and adorable, this is for you.
10 minutes long episodes each focusing on the daily lives of 5 men (ranging from a high schooler to two in their 30s) and how their somewhat clumsy nature allows them to relate to each other, find comfort in another and form a friendship. By clumsyness, this anime actually refers to highly relatable and realistic clumsy moments that every watcher has at least once experienced in their life, such as forgetting to press the button to cross the street, tripping, getting lost etc.
The characters are likeable and relatble and the way they interact with each other is so kind and gentle. They don't make fun of the mistakes of others, but this group actually allows for a safe space to exist. One whe…

I loved this anime!
The plot is very simple, but it works, because the anime doesn't try or pretend to be more complex than it shows. Personally, I found it very comforting to watch, I had a lot of fun, I loved all the characters and, without a doubt, I would like to continue watching something related to this story.
The short duration of the episodes is perfect to not get bored and leave you wanting more.
‘Play it cool, guys!’ it's a comfort anime, nothing more. It's not pretentious at all. Sometimes the jokes can be repetitive, but that doesn't make them any less funny.
I definitely recommend it if you like watching slice of life where nothing happens.

This anime is simply delightful. The episodes are light and short (unfortunately too short ╥﹏╥), but it's impressive how there is so much character development in such a short time without it feeling rushed. The story has a beginning, middle and end, that is, it is a closed story despite occurring in an ''episodic'' manner, with specific events in the characters' daily lives. Furthermore, it is very easy to identify with the characters. I saw myself reflected in several scenes (I am Hayate and Hayate is me haha). Anyway, it's a quick anime that can even be watched in 1 day, but it's very worth it.

Made me want to pursue for a job I really actually wanted and not something that would just make sure I'm set for an life.
I don't actually want to make a formal review, I just want to comment about my thoughts about it and what it made me realize. Before I started this show, I just really wanted to become a doctor because it made a lot of money, I'm best at that subject and it seemed really interesting . But after watching it, it made me realize I would enjoy photography a lot more. But still, it's not really a stable income/job. This show made me an emotional reck because of how it made me feel at the end. However, in the end, it's not going to change what I want to become. Maybe photography is just going to become a hobby of mine, like in the show, something that will bring me comfort.…

I really enjoyed this, give it a very solid 9.5-10. If you enjoy iyashikei, healing type media then I highly recommend Cool Doji Danshi. The voice acting, animation and especially characters are all great, they grow slowly over the series as they all meet and get to know each other.
The age range of the main characters, from 17 - 27 is a great choice giving them all slightly different situations in life from student, vocational college, traditional university to office job they still all interact with each other in a very natural way. I wouldn't really accuse it of queer baiting but if you are a little fujo-inclined like myself there's some great shipping opportunities LOL.

If you like himbos and wholesome bromances then this is the show for you. This lighthearted slice of life show follows a bunch of dudes who all deal with their awkwardness in different ways, either laughing things off, trying not to acknowledge it, etc. We're introduced to them individually, and slowly but surely really cute relationships begin to form between them as they start to notice each other at the same places. The show is incredibly lighthearted but at the samw time it's a really well-thought out exploration of the different ways people deal with embarrasment, and how sometimes we think inside out heads that everyone around us thinks we're ridiculous, when that couldn't be further from the truth! The artstyle and soundtrack are increadibly pleasing as well. Definitely give this sh…

Pretty cute, light, and fluffy. The way character relationships are allowed to build from meeting to meeting is interesting and really made this anime special. It’s slow-paced, with no central plot, so the character development was essential and well done. The art style is lovely. I also enjoyed reoccurring jokes and themes throughout. The voice acting is well handled. Sometimes characters’ goofs were emphasized more than necessary, but I rarely felt like that. If you’re looking for something fluffy, this might be a good pick for you! It struck me as queer-bating and fetishizing male relationships, or I would rate it more highly.

We all know that someone: the cool and mysterious type who manages to make everything look casual and effortless, but who knows what goes on through their head in acting that way? "Cool Doji Doshi" examines those very personalities with no room left in between using four, and eventually five, personable characters. Although they are all equally clumsy, each showcases their own charms and unique ways of dealing with their deficiencies to a hilariously relatable effect. Aside from the premise behind each character's personality, this half-long episode series weaves an intricate tale of how the bubble these characters occupy intersects with one another. bringing these like-minded people together. What's special about "Cool Doji Doshi" is the seamless transition from the series' plainly episod…

Cute, slightly dorky guys! That's it, that's the whole show.
Plot:
This is an immensely wholesome, simple show. It's just making simple mistakes and thinking about their lives or if they're on the younger side the type of adults they'd like to be. Their really isn't much more to say.
Characters:
The show gives us 5 types of awkward attractive men with their goals and personalities and people's responses to them. They're a joy to watch and rather funny too.
Music:
The music is fine. Animation:
The animation is super fluid such as when characters are walking
Enjoyment:
This is worth a watch if you're just looking for something easy and fun.

Story: Charming men who are clumsy and play it cool during episodic moments of their daily lives! At first, they don't know each other, yet through their common interests and surroundings, they meet and befriend each other. Friendship comes easily as they accept each other and go forward with their lives. A modern story that doesn't necessarily have a problem, and I believe it's easy to follow while there are moments viewers can relate to or find endearing.
Characters: Since the characters were in different stages of their lives, I feel viewers will have aspects they can relate to, whether it is what they're currently facing or have faced before. For example, we have a 20-year-old university student who is uncertain about his future and adores pets, an athletic 17-year-old high schooler w…

I gave up on writing reviews a long time ago, but after watching this show, I really wanted to write another one. At first, I thought this anime was going to a little boring, a little slow paced... but it turned out to be amazing. It's your typical slice of life with no deep plot, just a few guys living their lives.
After introducing themselves one by one, they slowly start getting to know each other, becoming friends and then even better friends. The anime with four guys living their individual lives suddenly turns into one of the most wholesome friendship stories I've ever seen. Then there comes a fifth guy and things get even more wholesome. There was just something so comforting in watching them live their lives, mess up every day, spend time together and follow their dreams... the si…

I like this anime. first, it's full of ikemen second the story.
it reminds me of Kimi to Boku somehow it has the same vibe. it's a slice of life and fluffy with some comedy.
I think it's good to watch it once but I don't think I'm going to rewatch it.
Is the story unique? If it was predictable, did you enjoy it anyway because you like this genre/set-up? yes
Do you think the art style is fitting for the story? yes
Were the characters well-rounded? Did they have flaws and strengths, or were they unusually strong/smart/stupid? stupid but cute
Did the characters react to situations and events in a realistic way? yes
Do you think others will enjoy/dislike this series, even if you didn't? Why? yes

This show is a hidden gem! First off, the premise follows a group of guys who do clumsy/embarrassing things, but try to play it off in a cool way. Despite the story itself feeling very basic, it's really wholesome and light-hearted! As someone who finished hxh, this was an amazing comfort anime to help soothe my emotions. The cute animation coupled with the simple storytelling made it such a joy to watch!
My only con of the show is it's just too short :(
Wish there was more to it because I love the dynamic between each of the characters and how they compliment each other. Also, the hidden life messages/quotes throughout the story help relate the characters more to ourselves and that's something I truly appreciate from the show.
So overall, if you're looking for a funny, short, and ext…

Play It Cool, Guys is a true comfort show to me. Like a warm and cozy blanket, I feel at home.
Iyashikei anime, also known as shows that focus on healing the audience, are amongst some of my favorites. Play It Cool, Guys goes a step further by introducing us to a bunch of cute guys of varying ages that are just super clumsy in their own way. And let me tell you that every one of their interactions with each other is truly entertaining to watch. In fact, I don’t have a favorite amongst the boys because they’re all so special in their own way. This may sound like a reach but in a way, this is similar to the found family trope to me. The guys in this show feel supported and happy while they're together. They motivate each other, do fun stuff together and have good conversations. Even when an…

Cool Doji Danshi is basically Derp: The Anime. It’s a fun, easy watch, with each episode being around 10 minutes. The anime is about four good-looking guys who are clumsy or socially awkward; a fifth guy later joins the group.
With the originality of a creator capturing derpiness and turning it into wholesome slice-of-life, the guys are literally named One (Hayate Ichikura), Two (Shun Futami), Three (Takayuki Mima), Four (Souma Shiki), and Five (Motoharu Igarashi). They each have their unique quirks, which I love—they aren’t just carbon copy characters, but each has his own charm. Whether it’s the shy fanboy or the play-it-cool kid, you’ll be able to relate to at least one of them, and you’ll definitely root for all or most of them.
The character interactions are also fantastic. Even in…

This short half-length episode series is the epitome of: "Week XX of saying I hate how damn relatable this anime is." Because it's really a lot of fun, and a hell lot better than we've ever bargained for.
We have the CGDCT genre: Cute Girls Doing Cute Things. But have you ever stopped to think of what's on the opposite side of the spectrum, with guys? And boy, do I have the answer for you, it's (also) CGDCT: Cool Guys Doing Clumsy Things! And no, it's not BL.
Female mangaka Kokone Nata's comedic slice-of-life, web manga-coloured series Cool Doji Danshi a.k.a Play It Cool, Guys, is the half-episode length short that never in my life, have I needed such mesmerizing 11-minute moments ogling at cute, cool, yet clumsy guys just doing their own thing, much more so other than their likability t…
