Sailor Moon S

Sailor Moon S

Introduction

The Sailor Guardians and their leader, Sailor Moon, continue their duty of protecting Earth from any who would dare cause it harm. However, Sailor Mars' apocalyptic visions and the appearance of two new guardians—Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus—signal that a new battle will soon begin. These newcomers seek three Talismans that are inside the Pure Heart Crystals within human beings. Once brought together, these objects form The Holy Grail, a magical relic with extraordinary abilities. They want to use the Grail to save the world, but an evil organization known as the Death Busters seeks its power for their own desires. The removal of a Talisman from a person's Heart Crystal will cause their death, something that Uranus and Neptune see as a necessary sacrifice to form the Grail, while Sailor Moon and her group deem it unforgivable. But can any sacrifice be worth the cost if it saves the lives of the entire human race? [Written by MAL Rewrite]

I finally finished season three after starting sailor moon for the first time and I did really like it! However I would say it was good but not great despite me giving it an 8. The premise itself this season is great I have no issues with it, its different from the first two seasons and more complex, and I really liked the darker tone! However I do have some issues with the villains the death busters, I didn't really like any of them, the orange haired one annoyed me the most. The characters this season were good, the main cast was fine, Usagi was definitely better in this season during important episodes however in filler ones she was painful to watch. I liked Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune but I didn't love them because I did feel like they were stubborn and stuck in their ways. Sailor…

This season had the best narrative throughline of the franchise so far, introduced some of the best characters of the series with Haruka and Michiru (nice to see a more mature pairing in the series and getting some real pathos from them), and had at least a couple of villains (the puppeted Professor was a surprise hit with his comedic antics, and I liked Eudial and Mimete for how extra they were, both getting lots of screen time to showcase their eccentricities and bounce off the cast). It also helped that the series took its time with its ending, even if it does feel like it dragged some elements out. Still, I appreciated that they created internal strife between the Sailor Guardians, spinning off SPUN (Sailors Pluto, Uranus and Neptune) and having the two parties clash over how to addres…

Sailor Moon S, if you ask any Sailor Moon fan, will usually agree that Sailor Moon S is one of the most hyped and exciting seasons of the anime, and a lot of people consider it their favorite. These are also for really good reasons: while the "Inner Senshi" (Mercury through Venus) were established as being kind-hearted, emotional, and "idealistic" (which is a word frequently used to describe them in the season), the Outer Senshi form not only a solid contrast but actually a quite interesting one layered with complexities and nuances. While it should go without saying that Usagi especially has a great deal of depth and probably needs no explanation of her character by this point (after all, I spent the two reviews of prior seasons analyzing her character endlessly), the Outer Senshi actuall…

The Best Season of the Series! This is the season which many consider either to be the peak of classic Sailor Moon anime or the point where they start to lose interest. I consider it to be the best but i can understand some of the frustrations some fans have with not necessarily this season but with the Sailor Moon anime adaptation as a whole. After 3 seasons Sailor Moon is still mostly the same. The whole formulaic monster of the week trope is still here but with different villains and different goals, also the only characters who get any meaningful development aside from new power ups or comedic focused episodes are Sailor Moon, Chibi-Usa, Sailor Uranos, Sailor Neptune and Sailor Saturn. Even Mamoru Tuxedo Mask was more of a background character this season. In this season the new vill…

WARNING: This review may contain spoilers So this is the fan favourite season of Sailor Moon and for good reason. Its got a good story, introduced memorable new characters, and the super from for Sailor Moon, Super Sailor Moon. This arc in general is probably my favourite in this franchise. Story - Shortly after the events of R, Rei has an apocalyptic vision. Then the Sailor Soldiers face their new enemies, the Death Busters. They want to steal people's pure heart crystals in order to get the three talismans, which would then summon the Holy Grail. The story for this was really good. It could get intense at times, especially towards the finale. I'm giving the story a 9/10 Art - The art was beautiful as always. 10/10 Sound - As usual, the soundtrack was pretty good. 8/10 Character - Th…

After a pretty uninteresting Sailor Moon R (with the first 13 episodes being a filler to wait for the manga and an annoying chibiusa), this series is a relief. The new characthers, Neptune and Uranus are pretty interesting, in opposition to Chibiusa's addition in R. There is a purpose for them being there and a nice arc of development. But at some point, the series gets very boring. The episodes are pretty much the same, with obvious messages like "the power of friendship" and the same structure in every episode. This screentime could have been used to focus on the inner senshi, that just got some attention in the beggining. Or mix with some school life moments of Usagi. Naru and Umino just disappear. There is almost no development on the charachters as "common girls". The last thing I'd l…

This is my favorite season of Sailor Moon. If you want to see the show at it's best and you don't want to watch it all, I would recommend watching this season. The story is more exciting and complex than previous seasons, the characters have a bit more depth, and the art is very good too. I also think the villains have more depth in this season than in previous ones. Though many of the villains throughout the series have backstories, I think in this season they are more relatable. Something that the series does suffer from is that it does have a lot of filler. It is a "monster of the day" sort of anime, with a lot of interpersonal, relationship stuff interspersed in it. It works just fine for what it is, but if you find that tedious, you should probably skip the series. I would recommen…

It is HORRIBLE, the worst adaptation, too much absurd filler does not follow the story of the manga already bores. The design its bad and the story too. the first episode is the only thing that saves since it is almost the same as the manga but from the second everything got worse. They made the senshi very infanti and it does not match the manga and not to mention crystal that exceeds a thousand times is a version of crap The adaptation sucks, it is almost nothing faithful there are no moments that you say this excites me nothing there is no felling. Rei Hino was too damaged in this adaptation, in the manga if she is fancy but she would never insult Usagi. Usagi and Minako look like crybabies from 3 basic. Sailor Saturn is the protagonist of this arc in the main story but here it appears…

Another great season of the show. Once again, the stories were consistently interesting. One thing that sticks out about this season is that it had a significantly darker tone than the prior two seasons, with new characters Haruka/Sailor Uranus and Michiru/Sailor Neptune being much more morally ambiguous than other characters in the show, and the whole situation with Hotaru/Sailor Saturn as well. This largely worked to the show's benefit, providing a lot of great episodes. The only flaw is that sometimes the monsters-of-the-week plots largely followed a formula, but it was a good formula which they got good mileage out of, and I didn't really get bored by it. The other factors that made the past seasons good were good here as well. The action scenes remained exciting and tense when they…

Review on Sailor Moon Season 3 So after reviewing seasons one and two, here is season number three. As always my Review is split into two parts, and is highly subjective. The fist part is about the structure, aesthetic and characters of Sailor Moon S. The second part is the conclusion where I write down what I thought worked or didn’t work and rate the anime. Also I tried to keep this review as spoiler free as possible, so if you for some reason didn’t watch it feel free to read. Structure: The structure is on the first view pretty much the same as the structure of the prior seasons. The story can be divided into 2 parts. The first part follows the usual formula of Sailor Moon, with an episodic monster of the week structure while slowly pushing the main story forward. Just as season one…

Season 3 of a TV show is often the "make or break" season and for "Sailor Moon" it was no different. Did they succeed? Sort of. "Sailor Moon S" expands the universe again with the introduction of more Sailor Scouts, the mysterious rogue duo, Uranus and Neptune. These new (and controversial) two provide a much-needed contrast from the happy-go-lucky main group and have the seriousness and professionalism one with such power and responsibilities probably should take. In addition, the adversaries introduced are led by one of my all-time favorite villains; Dr. Tomoe. A character who exudes menace and intimidates while still keeping it light with moments of corny, over-the-top, laughter and bizarre behavior. This guy (and his story arc) are the main reason "Sailor Moon S" is my personal favori…

Here we are, three hundred anime reviews, not counting those few manga ones I've done. Those of you who are more familiar with my reviews are probably expecting something Sailor Moon related just because the hundredth and two hundredth reviews were both Sailor Moon series and it would be strange if this wasn't one. You are, of course, absolutely right. In keeping with that tradition, I'm going to talk about Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon S, the third anime series to come to light. It ran from 94 to 95, but I digress. In the first series we saw the sailor soldiers defeat Queen Beryl & the dark kingdom, sacrificing themselves in the process. In the second series, their reborn bodies regained their memories and they bid farewell to their normal lives, which was especially difficult for Usagi giv…

This is the third season of Sailor Moon, and my second favorite season of the anime. The bad. Like the rest of the seasons, the ending was where the writers were lacking. The art style is old Toei animation, though they were getting better, probably bumping the art aspect of this to a 7/10 rather than a 6/10 like the last two seasons, which I guess is a good thing. This is also where they skimp on the awesomeness that was Sailor Saturn. Sadly enough she wasn't nearly as overpowered in the anime compared to the manga, where she destroys the universe on a whim (More powerful than Super Sayian God Goku). I won't go on too much of a rant about that. The good. This was an amazing season for character development. They had one episode [Spoiler Warning] where Minako is depressed, when I say de…

Sailor Moon was my introduction to anime back on Toonami and i really enjoyed Sailor Moon and R a lot. With this season I felt very let down. I didn't enjoy the different voice actress for Usagi/Serena. I found her trying overly hard to sound like the previous actress and it really annoyed me. I also didn't really find the plot too interesting. I felt like I really didn't connect with the characters and found them just uninteresting. This season I usually skip while I watch Sailor Moon (I have all the seasons on dvd) and I feel like I don't miss a lot at all when I do so.

It always seems that the longer a series goes on that it almost inevitably gets worse. That can pretty much be said for Sailor Moon S, the third season of the franchise. While it is not a bad series (far from it), I found that it was the most difficult of the three I have seen so far to watch. It has always been a peeve of mine when a story develops to a point and then mystically finds itself reverting back. Sailor Moon S suffers from the introduction of some pretty unlikable characters plus the reintroduction of an annoying one. The later is Chibi-Usa, the future daughter of Usagi and Mamoru who pointlessly returns from the future, apparently to just become a pest. The progress made in the relationship between Usagi and Chibi-Usa apparently is meaningless as we are again treated to const…

Ou, I was a teenager when I started to watch and be a fan of this anime. We were a group of fans which imagined that we are SailorMoon or SailorMars and so. We watched these episodes and cried with characters etc. That was real fun. Now I think this is one of the precious animes I have ever seen because it is funny un childish in its sort kind of way, it is romantic and a little bit nude but isn't too pervert to show to children, it shows different kind of situations that could happen in real life too (mostly metaphorical of course) and it shows that bravery and good friends are most valuable think in world. It is good anime because of these situations which teaches us to be brave and never give up. At least from this anime I learned that and now I never give up and continuing to be brave…
