The Many Sides of Voice Actor Radio

The Many Sides of Voice Actor Radio

Introduction

Experienced voice actor Yasumi Utatane works hard to maintain her image as a pure and innocent idol to please her fans, even as she struggles to find more jobs in the industry. But Yasumi has a secret—she is actually Yumiko Satou, a high school girl who prefers loose clothes and flashy jewelry, a complete contradiction to her false professional persona. As Yasumi, Yumiko is finally offered an exciting opportunity to do a radio program alongside another up-and-coming voice actor she admires: Yuuhi Yuugure. In Yumiko’s eyes, Yuuhi’s cute looks and talented acting embody what a voice actor should be. As soon as they are introduced at the recording studio, however, Yumiko realizes that Yuuhi is actually her gloomy classmate, Chika Watanabe. Together, the pair commit to their radio program and slowly begin to open up. In supporting each other, Yumikoi and Chika gradually learn to be true to themselves. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Seiyuu Radio no Uraomote – A Static Frequency "Seiyuu Radio no Uraomote” had all the ingredients for a potentially engaging slice-of-life drama: a peek behind the curtain of the voice acting industry, two contrasting protagonists with a secret rivalry, and the charm of high school banter mixed with professional ambition. Seiyuu Radio no Uraomote boasted ingredients for a slice-of-life drama potentially engaging with a peek behind voice acting industry curtain featuring two contrasting protagonists. 📻 The Premise: Interesting, On Paper The show follows two voice actresses—Yugure Yuhi (aka Chika) and Yasumi Yuuhi (aka Yumiko)—who are complete opposites in public and private. Somewhere along way show forgets tuning frequency to something ridiculously exciting or even marginally interestin…

The show follows two characters who didn’t really like each other but ended up being forced to pretend to like each other due to the jobs they have throughout the show they develop the friendship between them and be there for each other when it goes south They host a radio show and star in the same anime it’s like rivalry but not really in the end they’re friends yada yada yada it’s the same trope but this one was a case of put it on the tv for an hour or so and get through it. Not that it was boring or anything I was engaged and enjoyed it but it didn’t have any spice to make it standout to others It was fine nothing crazy maybe season 2 I don’t know if that’s been announced 6/10

The story is about the two of them becoming hosts of a radio show. On the show, they discuss the programs they create as part of their daily activities. Behind the scenes, the two of them have entered the anime entertainment industry, including roles like Voice Actress, idol, and TV shows. Watanabe has been in the VA field for a long time before meeting Yumiko, which gave him the desire to guide Yumiko, who was new to the Voice Acress . However, Yumiko's behavior, where she sometimes refuses to accept the opinions of others, including advice from Watanabe himself, frustrates him and leads to growing drama between them, eventually turning them into rivals. The storyline isn't too heavy, allowing viewers to enjoy the show more easily. You can watch this if you enjoy drama and yuri ?. One of…

Story: The story is about two girls who host a radio show and tried to take it in a yuri direction. The problem is that it didn't work. Despite feeling the chemistry between the two characters at times, they always manage to mess it up. There wasn't a single kiss throughout the entire anime, but we did get a bath scene which was not only tasteless but also pulled me out of the otherwise calm but boring scenes. This is not how you make a yuri anime, but if that wasn't the goal, then why include it? 4/10 Sounds: The opening and ending weren't bad. They had this cute vibe. The voice acting wasn't totally bad either, but it was missing something for me. 6/10 Characters: Yes, the characters... The main characters weren't bad, but the rest we should just leave alone. Yuuhi was my favorite char…

I think I watched the entire series over the course of four days. The plot is pretty creative. Two high school girls in the same class are voice actresses with aliases/personas and (initially) don't know the other is a voice actress, and they really don't know each other because they're not social with each other. They get hired to do a radio show together. Things move on from there. The animation is pretty good. The voice acting is, not surprisingly, very good. I have no idea what it must have been like recording for some of these scenes, which are set in a studio where they're recording for an anime in-show. So you're a voice actress in a studio recording for the part for an anime where you're a voice actress in a studio recording a part for an anime. And there's a scene in it where th…

This is an interesting show. I can't speak to its accuracy so I'll avoid that subject. While I recommend it's worth knowing I usually hate shows about the anime or VA industry (no, I don't know why either, but I do). The focus of the show is about the two protagonists who essentially get lumped together because they go to the same school, despite bieng completely different. They're careers get tied together and this only increases as time goes on. They openly hate eachother and consider eachother rivals, yet they're both good people who value the others talent. That is essentially the basis for everything that happens in the plot. Frankly, it works extremely well. The rival nature really makes everything wonderfully complex and the narrative extremely compelling, with one exception. Yuu…

Have you ever wanted to break into the voice acting industry and not sure where to start? Well, maybe you can relate to Yumiko Satou in The Many Sides of Voice Actor Radio. Story & Characters: The Many Sides of Voice Actor Radio tells us a story of how Yumiko Satou works as an idol, using a bit of a facade to please her fans. However, she wants to become more than an idol - she wants to be a voice actress in an industry that's highly competitive. With the last episode of Seiyuu Radio no Uraomote finally out, I was curious to check the reviews, only to find a flurry of quite negative reviews for a series I greatly enjoyed, even among an incredibly stacked Spring season. So, I wanted to give my two cents as to why I quite enjoyed this series! (Note that, while a lot of negative or mixed reviews for this compare the adaptation to the source material, I haven't read the source material, but hey I still enjoyed the series anyways.) The story of this show is about what you might expect from the synopsis. Without spoiling, it boils down to two voice actors who both admire and dislike each other, and they become good friends/rivals in the process of improving their voice acting abilities. We get to see their journey as they deal with the…

Another rather hidden Anime of the Spring 2024 season turned out to be a delightful surprise. Having only watched one or two trailers, I approached it with mixed expectations, anticipating something along the lines of "Oshi No Ko." To my delight, "Seiyuu Radio no Uraomote" does explore the show business industry as a central theme, but it stands out by focusing on voice acting, offering a fresh perspective on the subject. This anime ended up having many positive aspects, particularly its fascinating behind-the-scenes look at recording sessions, providing insight into how our favorite shows are brought to life. Additionally, the anime features a show-within-a-show, introduced in the later episodes, with a surprisingly intriguing plot (based on what was shown). Voicing a character brings si…

This anime was decent! Not mind-blowing, nor an instant classic, but overall pleasant. In truth, most viewers were expecting this to be another idol story that ripped off the hype that 'Oshi No Ko' (2023) created, but there was more too it. The characters were likeable, the overall dialogue was sincere and felt realistic, great animation and strong pacing within the story. One of the most appealing aspects was that the issues that arose were given proper thought and diligently worked through. From their struggles between identity and character image, the harsh expectations of fans or the studios/industry itself, the struggle an actor goes through from crafting a given character to the rejections from auditions, all of it is taken to heart. It should also be said that in the final episod…

In a season full of great Yuri anime, seiyuu radio went under the radar, but this was one of the best shows of the season and gives one of the most interesting looks into the Japanese entertainment industry. With two great leads, some cool cultural analysis and Yuri undertones, I was hooked from the first episode and my only regret is there’s only 12 episodes! In the last couple of years we’ve had a few shows that take deep dives into Japan’s entertainment industry and how messed up it can be for talents, but we’ve never had one that focused on the seiyuu side of things. While they may not be as well known in the west as singers or idols, seiyuu are a big deal in Japan and often have cult like followings. The voices behind our favourite characters frequently end up becoming big parts of…

The Many Sides of Voice Actor Radio - It's Shirobako, but more in-depth in the area of voice acting. Look, I'm not going to harp on the same crisis all over again, each and every time: the anime industry is a workplace that is not for the faint-hearted. From scheduling issues to behind-the-scenes circumstances and the like that always cause anime to falter within a very tight deadline, there're always certain expectations that the staff team involved has to do in order to make the products that they pump out, relative successes. It's the same for the VA industry, where talent is either quickly being raised to new heights, or dropped to pure hiatuses, cherry-picking the best or the finest and drying out those who fail to adapt fast to the daily concurrent changes. And this season, more tha…
