The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You

The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You

Introduction

Rentarou Aijou has it all: looks, intelligence, athletic skill, and popularity with peers and mentors alike. Unfortunately, none of these qualities help Rentarou with his love life. On the day of his middle school graduation, he is once again turned down by a girl he confesses to, earning his one-hundredth rejection in a row. Down on his luck, he goes to a matchmaking shrine and wishes to finally get a girlfriend in high school. When the god of the shrine suddenly appears before him, Rentarou is told he will meet an astronomical total of one hundred soulmates in high school. Though Rentarou initially does not take this foretelling seriously, his doubts disappear when, on the first day of school, he meets two of these soulmates—Hakari Hanazono and Karane Inda—who both confess to him. With fated encounters and love confessions galore, Rentarou's life is about to get a lot more exciting. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

So, I don't really get this one. Really. I watched a lot of other anime I could categorize as "slop" such as Vermeil in Gold, Quintessential Quintuplets, Plus-Sized Elf, Headhunted to Another World: From Salaryman to Big Four, and I'm Getting Married to a Girl I Hate but all of them had redeeming qualities to them, with either the premise being unique, being honest about it's nature, or just being really funny. But the comedy of this one just could not hit me, nor could the characters, "interesting premise" or anything else. The comedy seems to revolve around the plot holes, tropes and rather silly characters. But it's not actively criticizing them, making fun of, deconstructing or challenging them or anything like that, something that other anime like this with a lower rating on this we…

Well, Well... While preparing for the winter season, I saw that a 2nd season is up for one anime that I kinda have never made time for it. So I decided to binge watch the 1st season now. I'm sorry if this review will feel rushed, I wanna ff over some points and tell more about the "problem" ones. Here it goes. This season is amazing as an art piece. And by that, I praise the studio, not the writer. The attention to stuff blew me away. But the story, the plot, is bonkers. If this same team would work on a script worthy of them, we'd get a masterpiece. The visuals are amazing, designs are beautiful, the animation is incredibly well done. Even graceful I'd say. Sometime around the last episodes, one of the girls wipes away her tears. Dude, the animation for that hand, the fingers gliding, wh…

This anime should not work. It's morally dubious, completely harebrained, extremely uncomfortable to watch, and… I absolutely adore it. Now let's make something clear—in real life, polyamory is not a good idea. A single romantic relationship is difficult enough to navigate, and you're telling me the protagonist of this show intends to have a HUNDRED girlfriends? It's impossible. Physically, mentally, emotionally, there's not a man on this Earth who could make that work to the satisfaction of all parties involved. … So it's a damn good thing this is anime and not reality. And I think that's the secret, really. 100 Girlfriends is fully aware of how stupid its premise is, which is why it presents as a comedy first and foremost. Its characters are obvious tropes. Its plot devices are conven…

How do I say this. This is an absolute trainwreck mess, but in a good way? Harem Animes are always a category which are very "special" but this one just knocks it out of the ball park. I went into it with zero expectations but actually find myself being thoroughly entertained by the incredibly stupid and flat humor this anime offers. Constant 4th wall breaks, dirty jokes , sexual innuendos and dropping words such as "Tsundere" are some good examples of this mentioned humor. This anime is not to be taken serious, but I mean, it doesn't even take itself serious... You have "god" complaining about lines being cut from him in the first episode and references to WWE.... Sometimes things are so painfully bad that they actually end up being good and I mean that in the absolute best way. As dumb a…

I'm giving this a 6 just for two reasons 1.The first half made me laugh a LOT , like it was so dumb and obviously parody that i loved how stupid everything was 2.The animation is gorgeous, they didn't need to go that hard for this but the animators went wild with some scenes I would gladly give it a 7 even and 8 if it wasnt because of the last 3 episodes, the mom....the mom. Look i get that this is a parody of comedy and harem anime but there's times where a joke is just too much or is just not funny at all, i haven't seen one of those distasteful bathroom scenes since the 2010's and i sure didn't miss them , just because you make the joke with the opposite genders doesnt make it funny And y know...is just weird, i went ahead and finished the series cuz i was already 9 episodes in migh…

Story: Story? This shit barely has one. Mc just goes around collecting girls like they're pokemon. Nothing compelling ever heappens, and the comedy rarely lands. Characters: Mc is a joke. Dude is basic as hell and a huge pushover. All side characters are just high school girls that follow various anime tropes so they can appeal to all the degenerates that go wild over this shit. Character development? Never heard of it Ending: Nothing conclusive, since a second season is planned. Production: Everything is decent to good, nothing to complain about. Overall, an uninteresting anime full of tropes and bait for cucks who are into anime high schoolers. Not a comedy, not a romance, and not enjoyable :)

This must be, without a doubt, the most absurd and trashiest anime I have ever laid eyes upon. It is so ridiculous and worst of all, it kinda works? Like, I'm 95% convinced that it's a genius parody of Harem anime and not just an entertaining pile of burning sh*t by accident. Usually, I wouldn't be able to recommend this to your average casual anime enjoyer, but we're on MAL, this already filters out 99% of casual anime fans, so chances are, the person reading this could see the humor in this degenerate and beyond shameless show as I did. Horrible in the good entertaining kind of way: 7/10

Kimi no Koto ga Daidaidaidaidaisuki na 100-nin no Kanojo (2023) It's kind of a pain to watch and not as funny as I had hoped. What it is though is mega cringe. It's the creepiest cringe show I have watched in a long time. This is because only from what I see in the source material less than 30 of the girls are shown and this show has introduced 6 of them so far. Of the 6 we have a weird combination: - Hakari who is overly sexual with someone she met immediately goes for it. - Karane who is the most stereotypical Tsundere going. - Shizuka who looks and acts like a loli that rarely ever speaks for 'reasons'. - Nano is the smart and objective girl who collapses her hard-thought personality in a super short amount of time. - Kusuri is a fully grown girl who is mostly a loli or in her wo…

This is an anime that must be watched without logic; in fact, absurdity is one of its selling points. It's utterly brainless, with absolutely no intention to make any sense: within 5 minutes, it thrust the audience into accepting that the main character, Aijou Rentarou, had to have 100 girlfriends simultaneously. Each female character represented a adorable stereotype (tsundere, quiet, smart...), and their sole purpose was to make the audience feel their cuteness, just like Rentarou did. The girls' stories and emotions were trivial; we only needs to know that they love Rentarou unconditionally and in a ridiculous way. The anime definitely exceled within its own niche (i.e., harem romcom). The character designs were very cute, each possessing unique charm. The staff went all out to exagger…

I wanted to leave my own review for this anime because I was conflicted about it. 100 Girlfriends is cute, it has great and consistent art, but I feel like the gags drag on way too long. I was watching this for the comedy, but they dedicate way too much time on one thing when they need to move onto the next joke. I like romcoms just fine, but when they drag out a "kiss zombie" cure mission for an ENTIRE episode? Yikes. You just have Rentaro running around the school for 20 minutes to take care of something that could have been done in 5. I don't know if they were just stretching out the story so that things would end with a certain girl on episode 12, or if the source material is the same way, but unless you have the patience to sit through one or possibly two ENTIRE episodes for a comedy…

I don't give out 10/10 scores haphazardly. I love harem romance comedies since the old days of Love Hina. However, one big difference between most harem romance comedies is that the Main Character only get's with only one of the girls. The fact that Rentaro(the main character) is actively doing his best to cherish and love all of these girls makes this one of the best harem romcom Animes of all time. That may seem like an overstatement, but there are no words on how much I love harem romcoms. This is going to be a bias review, and I don't care. I love harem romcoms, and I know it's not for everyone. That still isn't a reason on why you shouldn't watch this show. It really brings me back to the old days where harem romcoms were as popular as "Isekai" anime. Which is refreshing because there…

“To play a wrong note is insignificant; to play without passion is inexcusable," is what Beethoven said regarding his music, and I think it could very much be applied to this show, which is so passionately made and so faithfully adapted to the excellent source material with very tasteful additions that I don't know what else I could've asked for besides for more episodes, which we are getting. There are many things I would say that hallmark a great anime, and one of the biggest of these is passion and dedication. This anime is one of very few from the long list of anime that come out these days that truly speaks to how dedicated and excited the whole studio was for this project. Bibury Studios, is well, not the most renowned animation studio but any doubts I had from when they picked up…

There are two requirements you have to fulfill to understand why I rated this show so highly. 1: You have to have seen a lot of anime romcoms to accustom yourself to anime cringe and be able to tolerate it. 2: You have to know and except that anime romcoms are complete fucking garbage. Once you recognize the inherent flaws of that genre of that medium, you realize that this anime, knows exactly what it’s doing and that it is one of the greatest pieces of satire I have ever seen. It’s so good that many dumbasses don’t even realize that they’re being made fun of and take it seriously. This shit is so dumb, so fucking incomprehensibly retarded, that it is one of the most ingenious romcoms I have watched. This makes fun of everything that is harem anime. Like the whole reason harem anime’s exi…

YES, this anime is the PINACLE of harem anime (unless we get this + interspecies reviewer then THAT is even more peak). This is a creative comedy masterpiece, let me explain. TLDR summary: In conclusion, this anime is just a pure joy to watch. It got all the right thing going for it with good directing, animation, and sound direction. While also holding its own unique comedy that've been allowed through the premise, opening many doors to very creative comedy, story telling, and character interaction never before seen in anime, and it take FULL advantage of it and RISE with it. This is nothing but a creative comedy masterpiece. 10/10 (as a rom-com) Full review: First of all, please don't be taken away much by the name and gimmick of this anime. While it look quite excessive and interesti…

As a huge fan of the manga this adaption is all I could've asked for and more. The studio did a great job adapting the art style and giving us all the cute shots from the manga. The additions they made through both the animation and music/VAs gave even someone like me who knew what was going to happen something to look forward to. The Kissing Zombies episode especially stood out as making the kissing scenes feel much more intense and intimate through the vibe of the music. I also loved seeing all the blushes and "hnngs" animated. All the VAs did a great job with their characters, each one really fit well which I think is very important for a show so reliant on liking all the characters. I truly do think this is peak "Romcom" in the literal sense of the word. We have the maximum "Rom" in…

This show was hugely overhyped and really not that funny. This type of show is usually right up my ally but in all honestly it was below average. The gags were stale and the jokes mostly fell flat. It couldn't hold a candle to other romcoms this season such Girlfriend X3 It had its moments and I finished it, but honestly my time could have been spent on other anime which would have provided me more enjoyment. I will probably watch season 2 in the hopes that it improves. Animation quality was good, Characters were pretty much a re-hash of many typical tropes. The general idea of this "instant" love connection is broken imho. I don't really think there is such a thing as love at first sight. Sure you can have a connection but that is mostly desire / lust based. Love comes from getting to k…

There’s something in the water with shows with the word “Girlfriend” in it this season. You have Girlfriend, Girlfriend’s second season, which was a hilarious sequel, and then there’s this one, something quite special honestly in the harem genre, a genre that is seen as low-brow entertainment. A guy that gets together with so many girls, one might say it’s a bit of a wish fulfillment fantasy, but when one watches it, from the outset, there’s just something different about it. I always say that if a show is trashy, it might as well be as unhinged as possible, and this one certainly understood that assignment. The premise is pretty stupid, as it’s about a guy, Aijou Rentarou, who confessed to one hundred girls, only to be rejected every time, and then as one would certainly expect, divine i…

Romcom is dead. That’s it. That’s my review. Now, seriously, Kimi no Koto ga Dai Dai Dai Dai Daisuki na 100-nin no Kanojo is probably one of the worst romcoms in recent memory. The word “romcom” originates from combining the words “romantic” and “comedy”, so, here we have a romcom that is neither funny nor has romance, fundamentally failing at the most basic level of the genre. I have always found a problem with romcoms and that is a reason why, even though I like some of them, they are always flawed in one way or another, as usually girls will fall in love with a guy because he was nice to them once, and that’s pretty much all she needs to want to pursue the MC, but in this series you don’t even get that, here the girls fall in love because they saw the MC to his eyes. The problem with…

100 Girlfriends Who REALLY Love You - This is it; we've officially hit PEAK Trash Harem Rom-com, the likes of which we have not seen since time millenia, in the most flawless and outlandish way ever done possible. For all of what the AniManga industry has to offer since its humble beginnings decades ago, only one genre stands out the most due to its consistent relevancy: the romance genre, which comes in a lot of flavours for everyone's enjoyment. And seemingly, one of the most popular themes from that genre would come to define the next level of enjoyment: harem. Sure, you have the obvious ones, like Ken Akamatsu's Negima! Magister Negi Magi series, which has a child MC being loved by his class of 31 high school girls, is, to my mind, the very first incarnation of the "more than single-d…

In a medium as rich and successful as anime, there are lots of genres that become so saturated with well-trodden tropes and canned story beats that they inevitably become completely and irrevocably stale even for their staunch aficionados. Occasional attempts at narrative subversion may try to steer such genres in a new direction, but those are far and few in between and don't always hit the mark with their tone and execution. But every once in a while there comes a work that doesn't attempt to say anything new; instead, it takes everything the genre has become known and loved for and tries to make it as cool and fun as possible, pushing existing tropes to their limits. It demonstrates not just its own strength but the fact that the genre itself can still be great. It's something you can…
