AniWorthMask Danshi: This Shouldn't Lead to Love

Introduction
Burdened with social anxiety, Keigo Sayama wears a face mask to school and avoids drawing any attention to himself unless absolutely necessary. However, when Keigo's stumble on the stairs puts him in close contact with the popular and outgoing Tsuzuru Saikawa, it is the start of a chain of events that might change his circumstances. As the pair spend more time together, Saikawa develops a fascination with the handsome face behind the mask, and he is willing to do whatever it takes to bring Sayama out of his shell.

Short, sweet and very sexy (even though nothing is really shown). If you don't already have a mouth fetish, you will after watching this!
I, personally, did not like the seme, both because of his character design and because he is a bit rapey, but that did not deter me from watching. It was all about the uke for me: I loved his character design and progression, a surprisingly intriguing and endearing guy.
Like many recent BL anime, this functions as a trailer for the manga and this sold it to me so I will be checking that out to see more of the story.

This review comes from the perspective of someone who has completed the manga so keep that in mind. Mask Danshi, as an OVA, is short and fast-paced; it is not a slow burn and not for everyone even if you are a regular consumer of the BL genre. The animation quality is average and pacing is unimpressive, the only part that particularly stands out is the voice acting which is to be expected of a rather star-studded cast.
This OVA works well as an introduction to the Mask Danshi manga. If you're looking to invest time into reading the 40 or so chapters and want to know it it'd be your thing or not then I would recommend this. If you have no intention of reading it afterwards then you might find this a bit of an underwhelming watch. If you are unfamiliar with Mitsuru Sango's work as a whole t…

This was a sweet BL that has a similar softness to the other BLs that Blue Lynx has produced. There are a couple of moments that viewers may not enjoy, but I think they are very minor and did not bother me at all.
Story: Quite basic, I haven't read the manga so can't comment on it from that standpoint. It's a generic high school love story, enemies-to-lovers type of thing.
Characters: Sayama's personality as a result of his past is a bit forced, as what happened to him isn't such a big deal that it'd make you antisocial like that. But at the same rate, it's nice to see his character development as he opens up. Saikawa's actions are a bit pushy which may turn off the casual BL viewer, but it's not as bad as early 2000s anime or anything so it didn't personally bother me. I don't mind a li…
