AniWorthPokémon: Pikachu's Summer Vacation
Introduction
Satoshi, Kasumi, and Takeshi surprise their Pokémon with a summertime retreat at a resort called Pokémon Plaza, where Pokémon of all types can relax and have fun outside their Poké Balls.
In the midst of so many boisterous Pokémon, Pikachu, Fushigidane, and Zenigame take turns soothing Kasumi's distressed Togepy and trying to lull it to sleep. But when an especially rowdy quartet consisting of Raichu, Bulu, Maril, and Karakara appears and causes Togepy to awaken, Pikachu's relaxing vacation is put in jeopardy.

The first truly fun special from the classic anime.
Pokémon: Pikachu's Summer Vacation is one of those simple specials that delivers exactly what it promises: a fun, laid-back adventure starring the Pokémon themselves. It’s essentially a vacation episode where Pikachu and his friends enjoy some downtime away from their trainers. The concept differs significantly from the traditional anime, as there is virtually no human dialogue, and the entire story is driven by the Pokémon.
That is actually one of the special's most interesting aspects. Since there is almost no dialogue, the episode is very easy to follow regardless of the language. This brings me back. In fact, this might be the first piece of anime I ever had the pleasure of watching, and what started my life long obsession of everything Pokemon, which has now spanned over 20 years and into adulthood.

If you're not rating this solely based on the nostalgia effect, then there's the door! ;)
Of course the rules and physics in this little Pokemon short rarely make sense, even in the world of Pokemon, but you just can't help but smile throughout. The picture quality is fantastic for it's time and the music is as catchy as I remember it being. There's…

Are you ready for a short overloaded with cute Pokémon? Are you ready to see an episode where Pikachu becomes a babysitter? Are you ready to witness Ash's (probably lv 100) Charizard get helplessly stuck in a tube only to be saved by a Cubone??
Presenting: Pikachu's not-so-relaxing Vacation!!
Prepare yourself as we watch Pikachu and his friends spend a day away from their trainers only to find themselves using Surf to compete in swimming contests, Swagger to protect Togepi, and Strength to pull out a helpless Charizard. So basically, they set up…
