Bucchigiri?!

Bucchigiri?!

Introduction

Minato Kai and Siguma Squad, two rival gangs at Ichizu High School, are embroiled in a bitter power struggle. As a transfer student, Arajin Tomoshibi has no interest in getting involved; instead, his priority is finding a girlfriend. Fortunately for him, he is placed next to Mahoro Jin, the prettiest girl in the class who also seems to like him. However, she has an overprotective older brother, Marito—none other than the combative leader of Siguma Squad. Moreover, Arajin's reunion with his childhood friend, Matakara Asamine, spells trouble since Matakara is a member of Minato Kai. With his rotten luck, Arajin also accidentally awakens the genie Senya, known as a Honki Person from ancient legends. Senya takes a shine to him because of the young man's fervent aspiration—despite it only being the loss of his virginity. While Arajin would be the first to flee from a fight, Senya lending him his powers helps the lovesick boy to hold his own against the likes of Marito, although this only raises the interest of both gangs in recruiting him. As the turf wars heat up when a third gang joins the fray, Arajin's involvement may be unavoidable. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Sandpaper room. Send this MC to the sandpaper room right now. I don't think there has ever been an MC in this genre with ZERO redeeming traits. He's the loser of losers of losers. It cannot be stressed how bad this MC is. He's the biggest pervert, he's beyond selfish, he's a coward, and he's an asshole to everybody. His personality is UNBEARABLE. And he stays like this for the WHOLE FUCKING SERIES. His story became a side plot because HE WAS SO SELFISH AND A BITCH THAT HE WAS BARELY ON SCREEN. But in the end finally decides to show up to remind us that he's the MC, whether we like it or not. And no, him being a cunt provides zero value to the story. Pros: The production quality; this show is animated by MAPPA. The story is pretty interesting, but it gets ruined by the MC. The characters…

The most boring anime I have ever watched! Main character is just talking about losing his virginity, and is crazy for this girl even though she doesn't give a F about him. Then there's the girl who only cares about her brother, such a redflag, ignores the MC's efforts for her. And then there's her brother who obsessed with the MC😭🥀. Rest of the characters like Matakara's (MC's childhood bestfriend) friends, they don't feel important just useless💩. Then there is some man who goes to a club to get the same girl everytime. The story is not even mid, it's just trash, boring and utter garbage. I still watched all 12 episodes because I cannot judge a show without fully watching it and this was such a time waste. I also checked up IMDB ratings before watching the anime and they're so stupid! Ev…

The first, like... 3/4s of this anime kinda suck. The protagonist is incredibly boring, and much of the plot is trying to convince him to be less of an asshole to his childhood friend. However, the remainder of the anime is pretty nice, and probably at least an 8 or 9 out of 10 on its own. So, when the plot actually kicks in, it's pretty good. But I can't really give it any higher of a score due to most of it being... blech. As a whole, I think it would probably be worth the watch? The opening is pretty good.

The author cocked hard on this one, to make the MOST annoying, dislikable, actual human garbage of a MC, but like in all of anime of annoying MCs.. Character development makes it better right? No.. Don't waste your time hoping for that to happen like i did. The story is decent, even good maybe, art is good and all that but it doesn't matter with a MC like that. Touch a pile of shit and you'll get shit stains on your hand, that's this anime in a nutshell and the MC is the biggest, stinkiest pile of dog shit there is.

This anime promotes the worst possible values—betraying anyone you love just for sex and only thinking about that (no jk, the whole anime is about the MC talking about how he wants to lose his virginity). The main character doesn’t love anyone; he just wants to sleep with them or get something from others. He’s not your typical idealistic protagonist like you’d find in standard shonen series like One Piece or Naruto. It’s like they tried to copy the usual "kind-hearted protagonist" formula but completely failed. The writer or mangaka clearly lacks experience in character development. Everything seems to be written for convenience, with no concern for how the actions affect others. What’s worse is that they don’t even frame him as a bad guy. They try to present him as a good person when he’…

After receiving a thousand recommendations from my friend, I finally completed this anime on 30–31 May 2025. Watching this anime requires only a single viewing session to experience its complete story. The anime provides a fresh twist to fantasy storytelling which blends together action elements with adventurous journeys and humorous moments. This original anime production from MAPPA earned an award nomination from Crunchyroll. Now let's discuss the story— The story's magic system in this anime replaces a conventional lamp-based genie with a bullet-based genie. The events in the opening episode follow this exact description which actually happens in the series debut. The anime does not explain why the genie emerges from a bullet. The explanation for this phenomenon will become clear whe…

i really wanted to like this, i really did! so i pushed through it all in one night, but admittedly there is but one major flaw - Bucchigiri's Protagonist red named Arajin, or Ara-chan. Sad truth is that when your main Character is shit it makes or breakes the whole Thing. This Dilemma reminded me a lot of Black Clover's Asta and his goddamn annoying voice (literally worst cast for seiyuu in all history). Black Clover's saving grace was that there were enough episodes to eventually forget About Asta's annoying voice and see the beauty of the whole Thing. In Bucchigiri we're not that blessed. Let me explain. With Bucchigiri being an Original, there was no source material to work with, which is Always a hurdle for Anime productions. Utsumi Hiroko (best known for SK8 the Infinity, Banana Fi…

Overall I thought this anime was decently fun! I reeeeally started to hate the main guy though, he acts so annoying to anyone but Mahoro. And the characters except for Arajin and Mahoro were silly and fun to watch. I felt so bad for Matakara the whole time I was watching, he’s so sweet and everyone disregards him :( The animation and background music are great and the character designs have good variety! I watched it a few months ago and the opening and ending still play in my head occasionally, they are SO GOOD! Overall I would say this anime is fine, not amazing but not bad. If you’re wondering if you should watch it or not, go for it! It’s only 12 episodes haha, so it won’t take up too much of your time.

You have to finish the show to understand! Waiting until the final episode to clear up all the confusion is not a great way to get people to finish the show. Unless you get to episode 10, you are more or less completely confused where the show is going, so the main reason to watch the show is fighting and the characters. Unfortunately, the Main Character is at first easy to not like because he doesn't... do anything. He just lets the "friend" from his past live believing a misunderstanding even if it visibly frustrates him. He also does not adapt when the girl he likes clearly does not like him. Mahoro and the MC are characters that until the final few episodes seem like what would happen if the comic relief side characters got more screentime. There's a running bit with the schoolteache…

6.70 is crazy for such a good show. And it ain't even justified. Lemme explain Bucchigiri is a great short fighting anime inspired by middle eastern culture, about regret, friendship and loneliness (as surprising as it may sound given the first episode). (Resposting this review for the 156th time since the original was removed. So I had to censor myself in the name of "correctness") Story : 7.25/10 Story is quite fine. Of course there are flaws I'm going to talk about, but it's overall a quite solid story. The reason why people hated this show and rated it 6 or even 5 (which is horrendously low) is only because the MC is flawed. Yes you heard me right, there's quite a lot of people out here hating on the show just because the MC dares to be human and have flaws. A MC being flawed, until t…

"Bucchigiri?!" is an anime that blends action, comedy, and fantasy, set in a unique modern-urban world infused with supernatural elements. Pros: Unique Concept: Combines ancient myths with a modern setting. Engaging Characters: Features a diverse and dynamic cast. Exciting Action: Well-animated and creative fight scenes. Humor: Balances serious moments with comedy. Cons: Pacing Issues: Some episodes feel rushed or underdeveloped. Inconsistent Storytelling: The plot can be disjointed at times. Predictable Tropes: Some story elements follow familiar patterns. Despite its flaws, "Bucchigiri?!" offers a fresh and entertaining experience. The combination of action, humor, and supernatural elements, along with its vibrant animation and dynamic character interactions, makes it an enjoyable wat…

MC development is the plot it’s a heartwarming and funny story of friendship . It’s packed full of action .I rounded my 7.5 up to an 8 in the hopes It would Increase the over all rating even if just a little. This is so underrated . It definitely deserves at least a 7 . The character development was on point as was the story and animation. It’s a cute and touching story of friendship and actually pretty funny .. think for yourselves watch it and develop your own opinion . You will like this if you liked Tokyo revengers .. the mc starts off annoying like the Mc in Tokyo revengers however the mc in this anime develops more in 12 Episodes than takimitchi develops in 3 seasons. This mc Ara, actually turns into someone you’d love and respect though realistically self centered

This anime doesn't really deserve these scores I think. I assume most of the low scoring comes from people who quit the show early due the the annoying mc. But for me, considering the current situation of industry where most anime are formula based, all same character designs, copy paste animations, etc., this show offers a nostalgic authenticity in terms of characters, graphics, sound and animations. I really enjoyed the art and art direction, a creative and quality production in summary. The story is not that of a masterpiece, but still a worth watch for a short anime. (I'll definitely watch if it continues, though). If you like bromance themes, delinquent boys fighting good, with a sense of humor and male body fan service, (which I did like), give it a chance and just bare with the mc.…

A good start, the aesthetics are incredible, it looks like Tokyo Arabic or something similar, but... the middle is so confusing that I don't understand the basics of the plot. What is... The Stone, The Fighters!?, The Gangans!? and most importantly....WHAT THE HELL IS A HONKI PERSON????? Another thing I have to talk about is the protagonist, this anime had a certain potential about fighting criminals but the protagonist really ruined the anime with this personality, HE MAKES TAKEMICHI LOOK LIKE THORFINN!!! I can't put into words how bad he is, the only one who saves is MATAKARA but he is isolated in the plot.... NOTE: 3,5

I have never felt more betrayed by such great production value. The series has some banger opening and ending songs, great character design and characterization... and one of the worst main characters ever that manages to bring down the entire show to a cringe-inducing painful watch. The episodes where he's featured the least are the best ones, and that doesn't happen until you're over halfway through. If you cannot stand him during the first episode please just skip this, you'll be doing yourself a favor. If you do decide to sit through this one, you'll have fantastic fighting scenes between colorful characters with some lighthearted humor sprinkled in, but the moments where the protagonist needs to step up either to a fight or to show some humanity, he takes the most self-centered opti…

The MC is terrible. One of the worst I've ever seen. The show, for some reason, is incredible dedicated to making him the most unlikable MC possible; it really is astounding. The rest of the side cast is decent enough, nothing too offensive, except for the really annoying bro-con love interest the MC is crushing on. Extremely baffling choice to have the MC simp over someone that is literally more interested in her brother and pays the MC no intention, even up until the end of the show. There's moments where the love interest even recognizes how easy it is to manipulate our shitty MC. It's a Mappa show so it's worth watching for the animation, but be ready to grit your teeth thru all the awful MC interactions. The show shares series creator with Sk8 the infinity so the character designs are…

Bucchigiri is a classic example of starting strong but ending poorly. Ep.1 was the most exciting - the rich and exotic artistic style, the Aladdin reference with a new twist, the lively action sequences...they all led me to believe that Bucchigiri would be an imaginative anime. More questions arose as the story progressed, and none of them were resolved even reaching the very final episode. What exactly is a "Honkibito" and why Matakara wanted to become one so badly? What was the deal with Senya and Yichiya and why did they hae to settle this through possessing high schoolers? Why was Matakara so fixated on Arajin? What was the use of the subplot involving Cat Café and Miss Jasmine? Moreover, this anime unquestionably failed in character development. The MC, Arajin, was such a simp and h…

I can't believe how low the ratings for this are. Sure, there a lot of dumb aspects to this. A lot of the plot, the MC being such a simp in its most stupid way, the importance given to a lot of things are ridiculous. But that adds up to the charm of the show. It brilliantly fuses these things that are dumb at first sight into a very compelling show to a very satisfying ending too. The animation is also one of the best of the season. This style is so much better than a lot of others even big budget ones recently. The music, the comedy, everything worked greatly even with its designed flaws. This was such a great time.

While I was watching the series, I initially thought that it was doing way too much. It was trying to focus on SO many characters and subplots that seemingly don't connect at a first glance. What is Arajin's problem? What is Matakara's damage? Why is Mahoro so obsessed with Marito? It gives us hints and sprinkles but actual concrete conclusions are sparse. It wasn't until the last episode where I finally understood wtf even the story was about. This whole time I thought it was leading up to Arajin getting over Mahoro in order to connect with his childhood friend again, making me really dislike the build up as on every single turn Arajin treated Matakara horribly or just ignored him. Let me tell you, it is not a good sign when the one thing I am most looking forward to each episode is the…

Bucchigiri!? - Arabic themes of the power of friendship, with the aforementioned gay themes and so much more. This...could've been good, but it's a wreck. If you have been in the AniManga industry for long, you would recognize people for their certain traits, as much as I have done throughout these years. Take for example: the young and rookie Keiichiro Saito, with 2 banger shows under his belt being both Fall shows of 2022's Bocchi the Rock! and last year's Sousou no Frieren a.k.a Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, his stardom as a rising director is quickly shining to great effect. To put this in contrast, Hiroko Utsumi, like Keiichiro Saito, is also a director, but she has earned her fame the same way by directing and creating shows that have always connected with the Yaoi fanbase, primari…
