Yakuza Fiancé: Raise wa Tanin ga Ii

Yakuza Fiancé: Raise wa Tanin ga Ii

Introduction

After years of animosity, the leaders of Osaka's Somei and Tokyo's Miyama yakuza groups have called a truce—by arranging an engagement between their respective grandchildren, Yoshino Somei and Kirishima Miyama. To this end, 17-year-old Yoshino moves to Tokyo to live with the Miyama family and attend school with her new fiancé. Although Kirishima is all smiles and perfectly polite, there is something unsettling about his demeanor that Yoshino cannot put her finger on. Yoshino's suspicions are soon confirmed: despite his manners, Kirishima is a masochistic maniac. He hurts people without batting an eye and also revels in being punished verbally and physically himself. What he wants most is a spoiled and arrogant fiancée who will ruin his life. When Yoshino does not quite meet his expectations, he reveals his true colors and openly insults her. However, instead of running away in fear, Yoshino decides to take revenge by making Kirishima fall in love with her and then ruthlessly breaking his heart. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Let me start this out by saying I am very interested in getting a second season! I've seen some bad reviews that imo have no clue what they're talking about and probably haven't even finished the anime.. and I've seen some good reviews that do it justice but also fanned the flames a little too high. Even though I personally loved it and got sucked in by the plot and building romance I can understand how some people might not like it so I'll say.. maybe watch with caution. If you don't like drama, violence, bad language, psychopaths, and sex scenes (although relatively tame) then this anime probably isn't for you and you'll probably hate it. No reason to call it trash or give it a bad review though if it's just not your thing, drop it or don't watch. If you like all of that then this ani…

^^MILD SPOILERS^^ Like most people who watched this, I started it because I kept seeing a ton of reels about it. It looked like a mostly wholesome romance anime with some action, but honestly… those 20 second edits do NOT do it justice. And by that, I mean it’s lowkey dogsh*t. Miyama, one of the main characters, is a total asshole. He’s constantly going from girl to girl, then turns around and says Somei is the ONLY one for him, no joke, literally talking about how much he loves her while he’s IN BED with another woman. That pissed me off- What’s even crazier is that Somei isn’t written as a “I can fix him!!” type of girl. She’s independent and doesn’t let things slide easily ESPECIALLY cheating, and she KNOWS he’s doing it but then she says she doesn’t care which is not in character.…

This anime/manga is not a usual lovey dovey, innocent love, like hell NO! This anime/manga has it's charm as you binge into next and next ep of the series. As you know in Yakuza world, of course all the male here are MAJOR RED FLAG like what you would expect? like I said this anime is not your typical romance anime. This is typical male yandere with more crazy, masochist best like behaviour WITH twist of strong, headstrong, bravest female lead character that makes this anime more fun plus it's match and feed between this two male and female lead. I really strong recommend for this anime and can't wait for season 2!!!!!

I have no idea what this was trying to be. To begin with, it seems like this is a comedic romance, where two crazy and toxic people try to out-crazy and out-toxic each other, which sounds hilarious. Then it seems like its trying to be a mature underworld crime story about the Yakuza, with all the associated sex and violence, which sounds thrilling. Then at times it seems like its about two people playing clever mind games with each other, which sounds intriguing. And then out of nowhere, you'll get the most milquetoast, fluffy nonsense imaginable, which sounds like it was written by a 5 year old. It's like it has a multiple personality disorder. Where this series shines is the combination of a toxic romance with a gritty, violent Yakuza setting. The mind games are never more than convolu…

I originally dropped this anime when it first aired as it just didn’t feel like a week-to-week watch. To my surprise I am glad I came back to binge it because this series ended up being not only AMAZING but really funny and cute for a romance. I’m a total sucker for romance anime, especially when there’s a twist or unique hook that sets it apart from the usual rom com formula. Not only do we get a romance between two unlikely individuals tied together by the violent world they live in, but the show also dives into a darker crime syndicate plot with sharp, edgy characters that give the entire story so much flavor. Even if at times that flavor is a bit CRAZY it made the watch from start to finish SO MUCH MORE enjoyable! Overall if you are looking for a romance anime that has a bit of a sha…

WATCHING THIS IS SELF-HARM where do i even begin with ? i thought of giving this anime a try after all the twitter hype only to go few episodes in and realizing THIS WAS SHITTY SINCE BEGINNING AND HAVE NO IMPROVEMENT. who even is this anime for ? it is tagged as "seinen" but be for real with me ? ARE ADULT MEN REALLY ENJOYING THIS DOGSH*T ? okay "josei" then ? I AM AN ADULT WOMAN AND I WISH I NEVER STARTED THIS EUGH. and if the shounen and shoujo audience is watching this...I AM CONCERNED. there is no plot, no characters building, aesthetics of a trash and nothing else. some weirdos saying "it's supposed to be realistic portrayal of yakuza" - GIRL PLEASE....there is pure romanticizing of the manwhore main lead...and we are talking about realism. the female lead is textbook badass lmao lik…

I was recommended this show, and I have to admit that I wasn't sure how I would feel about it. I loved the art style; I thought it was really pretty. The characters were a bit all over the place, but I think I would enjoy the manga more. It was definitely a roller coaster with many things happening, but I didn’t really mind that. I really hope there will be a season two because I’d like closure on a few unresolved storylines. While I don’t think it will become one of my favorites, it was an easy and quick watch. I truly loved the main character; she was both badass and funny. Overall, I'm not disappointed.

I don't watch a whole ton of anime on my own these days , but I'd seen this and thought it looked interesting. And honestly ...It could have been. It has all the makings of something that would be up my alley. Dark/grey moral characters , humor, a neat enough art style and premises. Sadly its just too short for its own good. The start is strong and the mid-section of the show gets an interesting enough story beat while pushing some slow character development along. But sadly this ends on a mess of a plot due to its unfinished/ open ended nature and feeling like while the characters are going somewhere relationship-wise in a slow burn sort of way that it was a nice waste of time watching this. Idk how much better or farther along the manga might be but this show really falls flat . I wanted…

Let it be known, this is WAY more than a just some rom-com, so PLEASE don’t some in thinking this is some ecchi/ highschool drama. Although it have the tag romance, it’s a plot device used to develop the story that no one was expecting. This is a yakuza anime, through and through. If you can’t handle human trafficking, sex work, blackmailing, manipulation, realistic gang violence, and a butt load of mental illness, DON’T WATCH THE SHOWN. For those who can a put their morality aside, not self insert themselves into a character, and just enjoy a well writing roller coaster, then this is the show for you. I would share the plot but… I actually think just watching without any spoilers or thinks to look out for it WAY better. My only advice is watch the show in dub and try being a little ope…

I'm honestly a little surprised that this series doesn't have a better rating. But then again... I saw some of what people complained about with this series and it's honestly quite silly. For starters, this is an anime about YAKUZA. Don't go into this series thinking that these characters are going to be pure of heart, morally upright, or even sane or healthy. This series is a bit more adult and, in a way, more realistic; some people can't seem to handle that. Some characters sleep around, many are violent, and a lot of characters have their own crazy agendas and motivations that fuel their actions. Kind of like real life, people cheat, get hurt, and aren't always mentally healthy to be around. This anime isn't very dark, but it does seem to have irked some people. To any who may be off…

What the fuk is this? Just tell me. I was hoping for a decent romance, but all I got was nonsense, cringe, and a story with no sense whatsoever. Stupid characters who keep changing their personalities every second, and guess what? It’s always for the worst. That’s all this show is about. The Only Watchable Episode? The First One. Yep, just episode 1. That’s it. We saw an innocent girl suddenly living with a yakuza for some random reason. The MC? He has this fake smile, but inside, he looks like a violent psychopath. And guess what? That was the only interesting thing about him. That’s it. After that? A complete mess that makes zero sense. The Big Dumb "Twist" – Personality Switch Gone Wrong! ------ Suddenly, the FMC’s personality does a complete 180. This dumb, annoying bitch suddenly s…

I don’t usually write anime reviews, but I felt like this one needed it—especially given its undeserved low rating. After watching, it quickly became one of the series that made me wish for an immediate Season 2. The story hooked me, probably because of its unique and intriguing plot. Some viewers criticize the characters for being immature, impulsive, or childish, but let’s not forget—they’re literally high schoolers. Their behavior makes sense in context. Personally, I enjoy strong female leads who take control, and while I wasn’t a fan of the male lead’s personality, the character dynamics kept things interesting. I’ll admit, the animation isn’t top-tier, but the characters—whether good or bad—felt compelling and real to me. Their flaws made them human, and that’s what I appreciated m…

The romance aspect is very much missing, The love interest is very weird even without the fu*kboy nonsense and there's no basis for the love at all, maybe i need to read the manga but I found the premise to be very interesting just horrible execution . It seems to me they want to show that love where the guy would kill for the girl but i find that kind of thing is overboard. He wants to kill people for her but won't show her he's committed(continuously sleeps with women while claiming to love her). He stalks her, invades her privacy and they still want to portray this as love to a young adult male population, I think this is very alarming. They should discuss why these things are bad instead of just always brushing past it as if it's a healthy way to get to know someone. This guy doesn't l…

Shoujo and Josei enjoyers are really starved in the anime industry and I thought this was a beacon of hope with a promising and interesting premise. It wasn't that. This series really wants to be too many things at once. You can't build a fluffy romance on top of a morally grey crime syndicate story and make the protagonists at times crazy, badass, calculative mind gamey but also kind of innocent, deeply in love cinnamon buns. I'm not saying you shouldn't do it, but what will come of that is protagonists that feel like they have dissociative identity disorder with the whiplash they give you with their motivations and reactions. I was watching this screaming "this doesn't make any sense" so many times. Does it want me to watch a matching-their-freak sado-maso badass Yakuza girl romance wit…

Yakuza Fiancé is not a serious anime series. What first drew me to this series was exactly that unserious, insane, toxic "romantic" element. It was wild enough to keep me entertained during the first manga chapters, but I soon grew tired of it. And the same happened with the anime. The whole thing "it's so bad it's good" ran its course and became just boring and, at times, even unbearable. Once the shock of the crazy circumstances and the batshit insane male lead is over with, and we become accustomed to everything, it kind of becomes predictable. And the secondary cast and fights, "scheming" and sexual dalliances are just boring and irritating; they very much feel like someone's idealized wet dream of a gangster/mafioso/yakuza/criminal bad boy. The animation is not bad, but it's not go…

Not everyone will enjoy this extremely pompous display. Not to mention how cranky the characters are. I feel like I'm being hypocritical if I say I'm becoming less interested in the majority of romantic anime that are now showing. Simply put, this show is completely unrealistic compared to anything else I can think of. And let's not even discuss the unpleasant characters who have the most weird obsessions, sexual bents, and relationships of all kinds. While this show will generally be looked at as a 'rom-com', I suggest thinking otherwise. The absurdity is there, but it will ultimately come across as cringe-worthy fan service, even when it's funny. Despite some poor relationship dynamics and masochist characters, this anime provides an okay glimpse into Yakuja's inner workings. Speaking o…

Welp, where do i even start. Ive seen many tiktoks about this anime and i decided to give it a try. I dont know if in manga this all is written better or no, since ive never read it but i feel like there is no character development...Almost every episode its the same, sometimes i could predict as well whats gonna happen. I dont really like that idea that he was sleeping with multiple women. I kinda hope they would maybe make another season later so we can also get some answers on our questions, since the last episode end up the way it did. The artstyle is not really cup of my tea but i didnt have big problem with it as other people have. Welp, if someone is bored and maybe looking for something to watch so ye give it a try, but i wouldn't rate it more than 5/10 average.

Yakuza Fiance is a slow burning, hidden gem in the "slice of life with Yakuza" anime. It doesn't fit too much with crime drama, nor comedy / romance, but it plays off each genre to give it an edge. Yakuza family dynamics are always a fascinating study and in this case, the show gives a realistic overview in which these high school students have to grow up faster than the rest, even though Yoshino is immature with dating and Kirishima's social cues are abnormal. Each episode is unique and the story arcs have a good pace where you can keep up with the snippy dialogue in-between. Be warned with some confusing moments: there is a lot of back story with name dropping within the families and some of those characters don't show up in the first season. The character art design has had mixed review…

Yakuza Fiancé has been a delightful surprise this season, embracing its trashy, messy, yet utterly captivating nature. It’s one of those rare gems that unapologetically indulges in melodrama and chaos, yet remains irresistibly spicy and engaging - a true guilty pleasure in the best sense of the term. From the moment the story kicks off, you’re plunged into a whirlwind romance that’s equal parts dangerous and thrilling. The premise of a yakuza-arranged marriage might sound absurd, but it’s handled with such flair and charisma that it’s impossible to look away. The main characters are walking disasters in the most endearing way, their toxic chemistry sizzling on screen as they navigate a relationship that’s as tumultuous as it is intoxicating. It’s a dynamic that’s rarely captured so well,…

If you like messy and spicy romance with the ever present danger of death or bodily harm hanging over your main character’s shoulder, look no further than Yakuza Fiancé! Finally, a series that shows us the real ins and outs of Japan’s most famous criminal organisation and right in the middle of all that are our two leads who SHOULD be in class doing their math lessons, but are instead uncovering mob conspiracy theories and interrogating grown ass men. Yea, this show’s a riot, over the top and unbelievable but damn is it fun as hell. It also features the best girl of the season. I’m obsessed with this story and need more. Disclaimer up front, I am a massive Yoshino stan, she was my pick for girl of the season and is one of my favourite female characters overall. If you like your leads to…
