Massive waste of time. The premise is good and the main character is cute but there's close to zero main plot progression.
The only major reveal is whether the main guy is single or not. That's it. The only question regarding the main plot that someone who only watched episode one couldn't asnwer that someone who watched all 12 could.
What lead to the main characters "accident" isn't revealed. There is no confession or any romantic progress past the first few episodes.
This anime frankly shouldn't have been made while the manga is still ongoing. They didn't even have enough material for 12 episodes, the final half of the final episode is a flashback montage.

Plus-sized Misadventures in Love was a uniquely fun and heartwarming show that could have easily been 10/10 for me if the story hadn’t ended completely unanswered.
Yumeko is the protagonist, and her uplifting attitude and body positivity are so refreshing! Especially considering that anime still doesn’t showcase different shapes and sizes of women. She is a wonderful MC, someone you can’t help rooting for, and I truly would love to have someone like her as a friend.
The other characters in the show were all pretty well-fleshed out and likable...except for one. Rikka. And for me, she was someone who truly needed more backstory and character building. Though I don’t want to give away spoilers regarding her, so I’ll leave it at that.
As for the romance, while I did enjoy the relationship…

I gave it a 9 out of 10 because is a short anime... however it is a great aniem. i was trully surprised as this story was definitively unexpected, I adore the positivity and how I can relate woth the main character in her work life as well as her reseeming qualities. I love the mistery behind her "suicide attempt" and I absolutely love the uncovering of the very heartwarming stories of the characters that surrounds MC. I do wish plus sized peolle be represented in a more beautiful phisic , showing all the beautiful qualities of an us sized queen, especially with the mentality MC showcases. Great story, great charcters, misterious, business oriented and heartwarming even healing as well. Excellent work on this one! Is super entertaining and relatable... we definitively need a season 2 and m…

She As Positive As She Thick
Plus-Sized Misadventures in Love! Is an anime about how to actually to be happy, it's not about losing weight, It's just about losing your memory.
The main character is just the right amount of arrogant that it becomes cute, and seeing her help her colleagues and the people around her, by her being as shiny star is just so funny.
It's also not afraid of showing the dark side of self-hatred and self-destructive urges, but it's tackles them well, and appearing in the side characters.
The mystery is also interesting and the characters that appear in them are even better. It's just such an entertaining mystery love show.
I really like the anime and want to give it a higher score, but the ending is not a conclusion at all, so we will have to wait.

Okay, this is a fine watch. I definitely recommend people to watch this as the plot itself does have its interesting elements.
BUT, I also want to mention that it does leave A LOT of questions unanswered. So, I'm really hoping for a 2nd season where it will finally further explore the mystery behind the character's backgrounds! (If I knew this was going to happen, I would've just waited for a possible 2nd season...)
Now I haven't bothered reading other people's reviews, but I'm probably guessing one of them is about the animation??
I do agree that the animation is quite...lacking and simple. The way Yumeko has been drawn especially her side profile, really irritates me cause her profile itself is drawn just fine. Anyways, it's watchable and if this overall was a turn off, I would've drop…

Deeply upbeat light drama. Its generally a light screwball comedy, but also deals with some deeper messaging about relationships, grief and mindset. While its comedy is fairly hit and miss, the characters are generally both likeable and have an underlying sense of self and logic which drives the drama. Its also quite deft at pivoting between tones.
Its focus on a larger protagonist is novel, and plays into the shows message about how attitude can be important. However, the fact that the protagonist is large and unattractive is also a constant source of jokes so its a mixed bag if thats the appeal.
On the other hand, the adaptation doesn't get far enough into the material to solve any of the shows mysteries. As a standalone, therefore, its not that worthwhile. It also ends on a clip show,…

An anime that doesn't try to sell you on obesity as something positive. It aims for something simpler: simply love yourself.
The anime is good and has a solid story. It's not the best story you'll ever see, but it's good enough to keep you engaged for all 12 episodes. We have a girl who gets a second chance at life after an accident that left her with amnesia and a personality change. Added to this is the mystery of who tried to kill the protagonist in the incident. Two things happen here: one that can only be told from the viewer's personal experience, and the other where one can be objective and neutral.
Let's start with the first part. Yumeko Koda, the protagonist, is an overweight girl who attempted suicide. She survives but suffers from retrograde amnesia, which alters her personali…

Really enjoyed this but the moral of this story is something that leaves me very conflicted and takes the story from just having human contradictions to simply being inconsistent.
On the positive side, the humor of the show is great and the overall message through the arc of our main character is fantastic, as well as the way they handled the self hatred she had for herself before being handled with the utmost care...
Problem is that every other issue is handled very poorly, and not in a way that just ruins the narrative but in a way that goes beyond irresponsible. There are some characters that outright betray others, engage in cheating and even do some pretty dark things that I can't mention without spoiling... AND THE SHOW REDEEMS THEM. It even has our MC say that even if the guy she'…

This will be a bit offensive, but... let's be honest, if someone does a review about an anime, but only displays hatred towards it's art style or main character or even just the animation quality, sorry to say, I have to say you're the problem, not the anime! If you're criticizing based on those little things, don't forget, these reviews are for criticizing the anime as a whole package, not for criticizing the animation studio or the author by themselves!
Why did I start like that? well, I know, many would hate this series simply because of unobjective reasons, like, let's be honest, I too hate how Himeko acts that makes me want to kill her myself, BUT, the story as a whole package, I must say, is rich in detail, or rather, emotionally complex. From early episodes, it was clear that it's…

Plus-Sized Misadventures in Love! - That's certainly one way to do a rom-com, by having a man deal with a plus-sized, self-claimed beauty that hides a rather dark secret within.
For far too long, we've been graced with rom-coms, or even more romances in general, that feature the handsome young men and their pretty and beautiful young women as their partners, that it feels as if romantic and/or comedy-focused authors just want to helm unique traits that make their series special to begin with, either follow the trend or go off on their own path that they can crash and burn at the seams. So why not do something for a change that still emits the fundamentals of the genre combination but in a bizarre way? If you thought of a way to do so, then I've got quite the series for you to check out, b…
