Diving back into a world of chaos with Kaiman and Nikaido. This is Dorohedoro once again. So, as a reminder what I'd thought about the previous season and the OVA before jumping into this. The first season was a near-masterpiece and the OVA was a chill episode with a collection of six-short bonus chapters from the manga. What does this season uphold? A lot going on with old and new characters that converge into one gnarly finale that's set up for the next season. Kaiman and Nikaido are traveling through the World of Sorcerers up until Mastema where they meet a young woman named Natsuki, voiced by Sara Matsumoto (Japanese) and Anairis Quinones (English), who followed them because of Kaiman having Cross-Eye tattoos as she has one over one of her eyes. She is willing to lead them to their hid…

This is literally MAPPAS most underrated show and one that I believe they genuinely have a passion for - after an incredibly long almost 6 year wait they came back with an absolute bang and absolutely trumped the first season. I. Everything - from the story to the animation to the characters - I absolutely love the eerines and how they portray horror and split personalities - at first it is a pretty confusing plot and difficult to put together but as the pieces start to fall into place and the plot starts to thicken the story just blows your mind - absolutely incredible watch and I’m so glad that season 3 won’t be as long as a wait that s2 had

Don’t judge a book by its cover. I am reminded of this every time I skip an anime for whatever dumb reasons. Dorohedoro is one such anime which I decided not to watch when it was airing and also when it finished airing all its episodes.
I remember it had been 2 years or something since I had started watching anime. And I was binge-watching a hell lot of anime at that time. Watching anime left and right, and in 2020 I saw promotional stuff and the posters of Dorohedoro and thought, what the hell is this? Lizard guy as a protagonist and the animation was kinda not that good from whatever I had seen.
It was overall a weird feeling I was getting, and that’s why I kept ignoring it for almost a year. In 2021, I finally decided to watch Season 1, and what I remember from that experience is—it s…

I've watched S2 directly after S1 I just got to know this masterpiece, and I'm so glad I did it's out of my usual reach from the genera to the animation, I'm intrigued by how everything is so well made, it was a wonderful experience now I'm torn should I wait untill I discover the rest with a next season for the anime and enjoy the production or I should go read the manga then wait for the anime adaptation...
Just the story flip was so fascinating at this point idk who to love or hate I got attached to most of the characters each well represented, and I want to see the end and what creative routs the mangaka had played.

Gruesome but aesthetically pretty. Striking in tone-setting and chaotic like my all-time faves like DRRR!!. There's a beauty in unpredictable chaos that is just thoroughly entertaining and horrifying.
It's been years since the first season. I'm not going to pretend as if I understood everything and remembered all the fundamentals (it took me a bit to remember what the deal was with the sorcerers and the non-magic users). I envy those who'd be able to watch both seasons together. Anyway, I gave the first season a 10 somehow and I reread the review. While it was barebones, I feel it still encapsulates the general idea of the show, and I still can't help but think of DRRR!! as an example. However, it's not like I felt completely amazed or felt something life-changing from the current season.…

Note: This will cover both seasons
In a dystopian cyberpunk-like setting, a fantasy premise unravels through an amnesiac man with an alligator head instead of his own, hunting down magic users to find out who the hell did that to him, and inserted another man on the back of his mouth. Even though the show is mostly wacky violent action, there’s an underlying (but far more evident in the second season) theme of class difference, seeing that the sorcerers, or people that can use magic, live above the slums and transport there to use their powers on the common citizens for reasons, and they are also fairly wealthy, if not directly live in mansions. The other group in turn do all sorts of criminal and common jobs just to survive the day.
At the centre of it all there’s the amnesiac protagoni…

I really missed Dorohedoro. After six years, they finally made a second season, and I’m so happy they’ve already announced the third.
I’m not gonna lie, though—that six-year gap got in the way a bit. I had forgotten pretty much everything and had to watch a recap of the first season to remember what was going on. Even so, I had a great time watching it, and the story is fantastic and really engaging.
I think Dorohedoro is one of the few anime that uses 3D animation, and I honestly have no problem with it. Even though it’s fully 3D, it still has an incredibly unique and awesome visual identity.

A second season that loses much of its identity compared to the first.
Speaking purely about the anime, while the second season improved technically, it declined in all other aspects. The production, animation, music, and other elements were a step up from its predecessor. The story takes a drastic turn, leaving you confused about what's happening. First, it must be said that the season lacks a brief recap of the first season. The anime can't expect you to have watched the first season a week before the sequel premiered or to have a photographic memory. Every good sequel needs some kind of summary to refresh your memory and remind you where we are. If you're going to say I had six years to watch the second season or a recap, the same logic applies to MAPPA. They also had six years to crea…

Still Zany And Otherworldly
I must say, the production quality of season 2 is significantly better than season 1 because a lot of moments in this season are so much more memorable due to the artistry at play, which must be a side effect from MAPPA making us wait 6 years for another season to happen. I just love the style and aesthetic of this anime, and to see it improve even more is a treat. I pray and hope the animators at MAPPA are getting the pay they deserve and then some, because God did they work overtime as always.
I will say though, the pacing issues are now starting to bug me. Personally, I don't mind this show being slow at all, in fact I kind of like it when it takes its time to get to the next plot point cause I just love the characters that much. But at some point, you star…

Wow, what a phenomenal follow-up to season 1. I had high expectations for this season due to the trajectory of of season 1 but this completely blew those expectations out of the water.
Art Style/Character Designs - 9
Animation/Action - 9
World/Themes - 8.5
Characters - 9.5
Story - 9.5
Music - 8
Comedy - 7
Enjoyment - 9.5 Dorohedoro is stylistically very interesting, I can't say I've seen anything like it before. It kind of has some similarities to Chainsaw Man (another MAPPA anime) and Borderlands (video game franchise) in my opinion. It was one of the things that really caught my attention when starting season 1, and in season 2 it was even better.
The quality in general of season 2 was just a step above season 1. Honestly CGI in anime can be really hit or miss but MAPPA really nailed i…

(Spanish review on my list)
The beginning:
What we learned in season 2
- That the world remains just as bizarre and morally bankrupt as in season 1.
- That gore is an everyday occurrence in this series.
- That there are no good guys or bad guys, only different factions trying to survive with what they have, since everyone follows their own principles.
- That the protagonist is also bound by the rules of this broken world and can also disappear or become the villain.
- That although dismemberment and death seem commonplace, there are also healing and resurrection "magics," and although these are scarce resources in the world, it's possible to bring everyone back to life as long as certain conditions are met (this last point is somewhat negative because it also reduces mortality for everyo…

I’d give season 2 of Dorohedoro an 9/10. It keeps the same dark, chaotic, and unique atmosphere that made the first season so interesting, while expanding the mystery and developing the story in a deeper way. The character interactions are still one of its strongest points, especially the chemistry between Shin and Noi, and the action scenes are exciting and well done. The black humor and strange world-building remain as entertaining as ever. However, the pacing can feel a little crowded at times, and some parts may be confusing if you do not clearly remember the first season. Overall, it is a strong continuation and definitely worth watching if you enjoyed season 1.

What to say about Dorohedoro Season 2?
I think one of the coolest things about Q Hayashida’s writing is how alive her worlds feel. Everything in Dorohedoro — the sorcerers, the humans, the devils, even Hell itself — feels like it keeps moving even after the episode ends. Nothing ever feels still.
Season 1 introduced us to Caiman, Nikaido, the En family, Shin, Noi, and all the chaos in this universe. It was messy, violent, weird, but still pretty focused. Season 2 just blows everything open. More factions, more mysteries, more points of view. It gets super complicated in the best way possible without ever completely losing you.
And Caiman is still such a fun protagonist because every answer about him just leads to even more questions. The deeper the story goes, the more you realize that…

MAPPA & Hayashi cooked with this season, Dorohedoro 2nd season has better 3DCG, Better Direction & Color Pallet Fully Faithful to Original Manga, But in terms Of storytelling it has a little Problem & I Realy Don't Like Caiman(MC) He has kinda two personalities but anime couldn't capture how amazing double Personality can be, It it's a big red flag.
En Was enough captivating personality for me, But my favorite characters remain Noi & Shin with thier beautiful chemistry (Kiss Scene is one of my favorites)
I love it's world building (Dark & Strange).
magic system is like real magic in out world.
i hope MAPPA can make it as soon as possible.
a Solid 8 Out Of 10

This is how you do an adaptation perfectly.
Dorohedoro is not just one of the best dark fantasy anime of all time but arguably the best of the decade.

Dorehedoro is an exceptional anime. It nails the gore and comedy of the world they are inhabiting .The show is unapologetic in giving you more questions than answers, but in a good way makes you more intrigued. It doesn't hold your hand or explain its world you're thrown into the plot just like Caiman is . The background art also feels unique to the world . The roster of characters is also solid and are fleshed out as the series progresses. The characters are like anti-heroes fighting the world rather than each other. The comedy and the dark vibes should clash with each other but it blends perfectly together . Mappa have really been pumping out gold after gold .

Holy s***! I had to come back to update my review on this. I gave it a preliminary 10 before, and right now I can't think of anything more deserving than a 10+/10.
I'm going to keep this short and sweet. If you want to see some of the most mind-bending (hehe), unique and interesting stories of modern anime, this is the number 1 go to. Can't wait for season 3!
Old review:
I love this show and YOU must too!!!
Season 2 of Dorohedoro doubles down on everything that made the first season great (which I don't see how people even complained about). The story is still wild and messy in the best way but it feels a bit more focused this time. Things start connecting more, while still keeping that unpredictable chaos that makes it sooo fun to watch.
The characters are still a huge highlight. Ever…

Dorohedoro fans have been waiting a long time for Season 2. Back around the pandemic, Dorohedoro was one of the bigger shows for Mappa which aired before it put out the likes of JJK and CSM. For those unaware, the reason the series was put on hold for so long was because director Yuuichirou Hayashi was focusing on finishing the final season of Attack on Titan.
The series picks up with Caiman and Nikaidou reunited, and they move forward to discover who Caiman truly is. You also have a dynamic cast with En's family as well as some notable characters from the hole. The cast is exceptional, and despite being dark and having a lot of gore, the comedy in this series is outstanding. Much like Golden Kamuy, it can be mature and gritty, but at the same time, it can have you laughing until you are…

The second season went full steam ahead, picking up from where things left off last season. It was fun to see all the characters and to meet more of them as the world became more fleshed out. I really enjoyed the mystery presented, but I feel like if I didn't know a key manga spoiler, I might have felt more frustrated and confused, but I think confusion is part of the intent with certain aspects of season two. I was surprised when it debuted to learn it would only be eleven episodes but I think that episode eleven ended in a place that made a great season ending and I can see why they didn't want to add 30 more minutes onto things.
If you liked season 1 then you'll probably like season 2. If you were a bit put off by aspects of season 1 and hope that things might improve in season 2 then…

Dorohedoro S1&2 are some of the best series anime has to offer as a medium. I'm just writing this quick short review to convince just about anyone to watch it.
Really the only thing that would drive a person away from starting Dorohedoro is the CG -- which let me tell you, this show couldn't have been made without it. It wouldn't have been nearly as consistent in quality and gorgeous visuals. The small ick from seeing CG characters goes away after 10 minutes, especially with how good the characters and the setting and the unconventional worldbuilding are. All backgrounds are hand-drawn and INSANELY detailed and gorgeous, and there are plenty of beautiful traditional 2D frames interspliced with the rest of the animation.
You're not gonna find anything else that feels as different and char…
