Introduction
In the 21st century, humanity's love for cats grew so deep that nearly everyone owns one as a pet. However, selective breeding of cats results in an extraordinary individual who carries a strange virus. The outbreak—dubbed the Nyandemic—turns any human who makes contact with an infected feline into one themselves.
Kunagi, a man who has lost all of his memories, is forced to flee mid-shift from a cat cafe. With him are siblings who run the place, Gaku and Kaoru, and a customer named Tanishi. But Gaku confesses that he is already infected and pleads with Kunagi to protect his sister. After experiencing the danger firsthand, the remaining three begin searching for a way to survive the very animals they adore.
Despite the government's best efforts to halt the feline hordes, the Nyandemic uncontrollably spreads. Human extinction seems more probable by the hour—but Kunagi, Kaoru, and Tanishi refuse to surrender their humanity without a fight!

Cats are the best
Cats are the world
Replace zombies with cats
That world comes unfurled
If cats are your love
And you can't imagine their harm
Then this anime's for you
For it's full of charm Don't expect depth
Don't expect wit
Expect cats, that love
And more of that shit
Art: 6/10
It does its job.
Cat lore: 10/10 (you might actually learn something)
SO MUCH TO LEARN AND BENEFIT FROM!
Music: 7/10 (for the Main Theme, OP and ED)
The main theme, OP and ED are winners. The rest just works.
Sound: 7/10 (cats, cats, cats)
Nothing special, but the voice actors are lovely to listen to when the anime goes all in on how much there is to love about cats.
Story: 6/10
Nothing special, but the lore and how much it leans into its cat aspects towards the latter half elevates it to a very close 7/…

Peak. Just peak.
It might have a stupid premise but this is the first anime I enjoyed to the extent I did since I watched FMAB as a teenager, probably. No need for a break from it or anything, just had my full attention.
Peak characters, peak plot, peak pacing, peak music. Love went into this.
Again, the premise is fairly dumb. Nonetheless, the fact it's treated like it's fully serious adds to its being a parody and it works so well.
I've recommended this for ages to everyone I know who watches anime. Nobody's taken on the suggestion yet, but if they would, I bet they'd agree it's peak.

This was a pointlessly fun anime that pressed all the right buttons for me. It had the right amount of drama to keep things interesting (a little), and the right amount of comedy to make things riotous (a lot). It's just choc full of jokes for cat lovers, that land more reliably the more of a cat person you are. The attention to detail about never hurting the cats is wonderful. And some of the lines are absolutely ridiculous, over-the-top, and delivered so well by the VA's that they just broke me into howling laughter. I recommend this anime for anyone who likes cats a lot, who likes zombie movies, or who just wants a low-stakes laugh riot.

OK, this is one of the most bizarre anime I have even seen - and I've watched close to 1,000 series. It's basically a George A. Romero fever dream if he had an obsession with everything cat. It's hilarious. It takes every single zombie movie and trope and turns it on its, er, tail. The series embraces its absurdity and runs with it. Climbs with it and plays with it. Even the title of the final episode is an homage to Richard Matheson's zombie novel - and the plot obviously revolves around an Umbrella like corporation. Instead of guns, we have super-soakers. In this alternate universe, people love cats to an almost unhealthy extreme - so much so, that even when facing a choice - harm a cat or change into one, nobody can harm the furballs. If you've ever been adopted by a cat, you'll really…

Zombie anime, but where the zombies are cats... I like cats, and here it could be considered a comedy anime because instead of being scary, they try to make everything seem quite cute thanks to the fact that, well, the infected people end up turning into cats. Only I have some problems with this anime, actually.
And the thing is that NO ONE... I mean, seriously, NO ONE hates cats or treats them badly... that's why I say it's a comedy anime...
I'm a cat lover, seriously, and in an apocalypse like this, I would jump at the chance to turn into a cat at the first opportunity. I'd be delighted.
But there's a lot of variety in the world, and I'm sure many people would easily hurt these animals in an apocalypse like the one we're facing... I mean, they're still cats.…

Just another zombie apocalypse story - but it's cats instead. Ingenious, isn't it? Well, at least the idea was good.
Long story short, this awesome premise of parodying zombie genre with cats was mostly wasted by weak everything else.
They kept the heavy atmosphere that you'd expect from a survival horror, which obviously was getting broken all the time by talk about cute cats, non-lethal methods and generally much lower stakes (becoming a cat isn't THAT bad, is it?). That much is fine, although I felt like parody went in a wrong direction: instead of laughing at the premise, it took itself too seriously. As a result, the story wasn't engaging or deep enough, while there was no reasonable comedy either. I often felt simply bored.
One thing that saved it from being a complete disaster, and…

Do you love cats. I certainly do. I have been a loyal and loving cat owner since I was 24 years old thanks to my wife and from the day that I moved in with her there has never been an occasion where our home has not had a cat in it. I’m also a huge horror film fan so it seems natural that an anime that integrates two major loves of my life would be a winning combination with regards to my love of anime. Well kind of/sort of.
Nyaight of the Living Cat is a parody anime that borrows heavily from multiple live action zombie films that are critically acclaimed by horror fans and adds a hilarious twist to the zombie genre. In Nyaight of the Living Cat, a virus is released in the world that turns people into cats, and if a human is unlucky enough to be licked or cuddled by a cat then they turn…
