AniWorthMagical Sisters Lulutto Lilly

Introduction
Fuu Nonoyama and Rui Nonoyama are sisters from a "land of magic," who were once on terms with one another, but have drifted apart. Suddenly, they are given magical powers by two cat-like spirits, Uguisu and Azuki, allowing them to transform into magical girl idols. However, there is a catch: these powers only last for a year and they cannot tell anyone that that magic exists. While neither Fuu nor Rui knows one another are magical girls, they soon begin their careers as idols.

Strong start and end, but what was the rest?
A fan of original Minky Momo, the grandfather of this show. Strengths of both is the innocent charm of being a little girl. It’s silly but admirable. Mixed in with that is the mother of this show: Creamy Mami. They basically have the same premise and style. Was looking forward to the tweak in the premise as it being about two sisters magical girls bonding together… but they weren’t allowed to know about each other…? And then there were episodes that had a totally different tone or that were too childish that it took away from the charm. Maybe just felt like poor writing.
If it focused on the main plot the entire time, this would be an all time favorite… but alas.

What a weird concept, and I'm still watching it. To be honest, I wanted to watch this to take a stance. You know why? Pierrot and Bandai collaborated on YouTube to release this anime. Yes, you heard that correctly. This is the very first time a company has released its own anime on its own channel. Wild? It was wild. Then you remember that Akane-banashi also did the same. 😂
Anyway, the reason I watched this is that I wanted to support them. Who knows! They might start releasing even more anime on their channel. That would be great! The convenience of watching anime would be better, and piracy would decrease!
How did I find this?
Somehow, someway, the YouTube algorithm brought me to this anime. Then I saw it (subtitled in 20+ languages), and I was like, "NO WAY! Another provider like Mus…

It’s so frustrating to me that no one picked up Lulutto Lilly for streaming, but Crunchyroll is happy to offer us seasonal incest or harem slop ad nauseum. This is one of my favorite recent mahou shoujos. It’s very simple, yet has a surprisingly emotionally resonant story about two sisters who’ve drifted apart and want to restore the bond they once had. I think it’s a timeless and relatable story that many people will be able to empathize with. Fuu and Rui are very endearing characters and their insecurities and struggles feel real. They might mask them with their dual lives as idols, but it doesn’t solve the problems.
It’s hard to evaluate the story too much since it’s not over yet and is split cour, but in the 12 episodes we got so far, even though they’re somewhat episodic, we see the…
