Gnosia

Gnosia

Introduction

Saddled with amnesia, Yuuri awakens on an interstellar cruiser drifting through space. Unfortunately, a lack of memories is the least of Yuuri's problems. Among the four other crew members is a Gnosia: a Gnos infectee whose goal is the eradication of humanity. The Gnosia appears human in all other respects, so the uninfected have little choice but to vote on whom they suspect to be the enemy, hoping to neutralize the Gnosia by putting them into cold sleep. If the Gnosia survives the vote, they will eliminate one crew member during the cruiser's following warp, when only the Gnosia remains conscious. Voting quickly proves to be an unreliable strategy, and Yuuri is left one-on-one with the Gnosia. Just when all hope seems lost, time seemingly loops back to when Yuuri first awakened. With each time loop, however, conditions aboard the ship change—neither the size of the crew nor the members' identities remain constant. Trapped in both time and space, Yuuri must figure out how to escape the loops and save humanity from the Gnosia. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Gnosia is the best case scenario for any video game adaptation, lovingly crafted in tandem with the original dev team to present a similar but still interestingly different story that properly translates the great part of the PS Vita visual novel The character cast is large but each and every single one of them get their own spotlight, getting you to know everything that makes them tick and the reasons for how they are, on top of having really endearing personalities to get you attached. It's a genuine achievement that none of them miss! I genuinely love every characters for different reasons, it's not often I'm missing characters after the end of a show The social deduction aspect, while ultimately a background element in the anime past the few first episodes, still stays interesting,…

While probably not necessarily bad as the general premise, storyline, and characters are fabulous- as a fan of the game since its release the anime fell entirely flat. I could in theory recommend the anime to those who’ve never played Gnosia, but definitely not players of the game- but I’d sooner just recommend the game itself. The protagonist is entirely uncompelling, though I understand it’s hard to transfer a player character with no design and who can choose their stats/make choices which shape who they are. Maybe a lot of that has to do with my own playing style. HOWEVER, the way the sequences of events unfold, and the other characters, don’t really feel loyal to the game at all. It felt a lot like watching completely different characters with the same design act out scenes in the wr…

The most important thing to understand is that the premise presented upfront for Gnosia is not its selling point. This is not "Among Us" the anime. Following its opening episodes this is a deep series of character studies followed by a bit of metaphysical mind-bending. That is where Gnosia's quality shines through. The setting is immediately familiar to anyone who has ever played a game like Among Us. There is an imposter among the crew, known as a Gnosia, who will kill one crew-member every night. The crew must vote on who they believe the Gnosia is each day in order to put them into cold storage. It's a strong enough premise for a game, but trying to find the imposter is not a recipe for a compelling series, and in its first few episodes Gnosia struggles a bit with maintaining interest…

The term “Among Us anime.” The anime manages to be unique; compared to similar works in the genre, the theme is a bit tedious for me. They handled the time travel aspect well, and I should mention that I also liked the drama. As for the characters, I think each one’s personality is well portrayed. The animation quality is good; the studio didn’t cut corners there, and I appreciate that. The physical designs of the female characters are another plus. - Among us oyununun animesi tabiri. Anime benzersiz olmayı başarıyor türün benzeri işlere bakınca can sıkıcı bir tema benim için. Zamanda yolculuğu iyi işlemişler, Dramasınıda beğendiğimi söylemeliyim. Karakterlere Gelicek olursam Her birinin kişiliği iyi yansıtılmış olduğunu düşünüyorum. animasyon kalitesi iyi stüdyo tembel davranmamış o konu…

The show was so good, I went and downloaded the game after watching the final episode, because I simply couldn't have enough! That said, as any thing out there, it is probably not everyone's cup of tea. But for those who enjoy a little mind teaser, this is for you! you get to play detective alongside the mc. I will admit, the first 3-4 episodes I was just mainly hooked by the colors, without being convinced it will be a good show. also I got into it blind, because the poster was so pretty, and I didn't know it will be about looping, that took me by surprise. but I was in the mood to binging something randomly and went in with 0 expectations. So I understand if someone was waiting for them week by week they might have felt underwhelmed before all the players and mechanics where done being…

Loup Garou/Werewolf Game with a(n) (un)healthy dose of Groundhog Day/Re Zero. While yes, initially the show seems REALLY similar in concept to something like Among Us, it soon branches out and goes from "I wonder who the infected person is" to "I wonder why this girl doesn't tolerate lies... And who the infected person is..." It's a little bit spoilery but it is kinda important to mention because if you expect 21 episodes of Animong Us then it's not exactly that. The show throws us curve balls at a steady pace and the main character continues to solve "mysteries" but they diversify and often focus on characters and who they really are. This show has flaws but I still ended up loving it. Some things are potential plot holes and some are fairly prominent ones. They don't detract too much f…

Gnosia begins with a simple game of werewolf onboard an interstellar cruiser. The objective is to systematically vote and transfer an infected passenger into cold sleep through a series of crew meetings. This concept, despite being simplistically familiar, successfully delivers on entertaining. Furthermore, it thoughtfully incorporates new ideas, interesting twists, and narrative expansion throughout. The production makes creative and quality use of excellent 3D animation and features good pacing that trims unnecessary repetition. Though a few parts, like some aesthetically memorable but bizarre character designs and basic knowledge dialogue explanations, miss the mark. Nonetheless, the gradually expanding story and coherently satisfying mystery are worth experiencing.

I rarely write reviews. Even for the ones that I give 10 stars. But I just had to write a review for this one. Before going into this I didn't know they had a game with same name. I just saw time travel in the description and went with it. For the initial few episodes I thought this is just like Among Us cheap cash grab anime which was popular during covid. But I was so wrong. After 3 episodes I was totally invested in this. New characters every episode, their stories and motivations. By the midpoint I was actively looking through the dialogues to search for cues against gnosia. This anime does sometimes felt slow but overall the pace is good. Sometimes a bit confusing also. But I am so glad I got to watch this. This is not some groundhog level simple travel back to time and fix the futu…

this anime is lowk peak, I know the first episodes arnt really the best bc its kind of repetitive and not much lore at first, but trust me once you get to the later episodes it really starts to become lore heavy and even really sad at points, it turns into a completely different anime by the end(not even a exaggeration) i dont really find my self getting that sad over any other shows except for like angel beats. But the more you progress into the story you still care about who the Gnosia is, but you just get really invested in the lore and there's a lot of it, and also this also has 21 episodes which is really rare for anime to have more than 12-13 episodes for a season, this anime is definitely a 10/10 and also probably one of the only shows that i felt like i needed to write a review on…

First thing anyone getting into this series should know is that it's not at all a death game anime. A lot of negative reviews seem to stem from people getting into it expecting a death game, gruesome kills and fight for survival, but Gnosia is really more of a sports anime where getting killed has stakes comparable to being hit in a dodgeball match. Sure, the whole point is to avoid it, but no one's going to mourn you. Instead, the stakes for our protagonist are to try to somehow escape the time loop they've been thrust into by a parasite attached to them and avoid being condemned to play a Werewolf game onboard a spaceship for all eternity. And it's a very literal take on Werewolf - the Gnosia play by the rules and never eliminate more than one person at night, and the crew is more than…

I think many people skip Gnosia because they see it as just another Among Us clone, but they’re missing out. For me, it feels way more like the board game The Resistance. It’s all about social deduction, reading the room, and understanding the characters' patterns. Playing it actually made me want to go back to the original board games. If you enjoy the psychological side of games like The Resistance and want a deep, looping sci-fi story, give Gnosia a chance. It’s a masterpiece of the genre. SQ is easily my favorite character—she’s unpredictable, chaotic, and so well-written. I’m also a huge fan of Yuriko; her presence is so intimidating and mysterious, she completely commands every scene she's in. If you like social deduction and great character designs, this is a must-play

Okay I just finished the anime as I'm typing this and wow that was seriously something else. If you like mystery type of shows or something that can get you to really think this one is a great pick. The entire anime I was hooked basically every episode. The animation, art style, music, characters, plot twists, world, story and so much more are all fantastic. I know this isn't a long review but I really don't wanna talk about it too much because if I do it could result in hinting things depending on how I word it, so I'm just not going to. If you wanna take anything away from this review then don't just write this off as something you're going to understand simply because of how it looks or the synopsis, (honestly I'd say you should go in blind) the point is it's deeper than it appears to…

I loved every second of it, it´s easily in my top 3 Anime. I feel like I am the exact target group with all the colourful and different character designs, the glitches and the overall vibe of the Anime. Even the op and ed are soo good, I never skipped them even once and still listen to them on repeat. At first I didn´t even know it was based on a game, I just klicked on it because the cover looked cool and I generelly like those among us typa games. Didn´t think I´d encounter my next big hyperfixation, but I´lll absolutely play the game and then rewatch the Anime, because every time I thought the story couldn´t get any more complicated and better, it somehow did. It has this oddly specific gays timetravelling type of vibe, so if you liked Devilman Crybaby, Evangelion or Madoka for simil…

So, I've already finished the entire "GNOSIA" anime, and in my opinion (I should also note that I haven't played the game itself, which the anime is based on). I had a lot of fun guessing who Gnosia is, etc. The series itself reminds me a bit of the game Among Us in its atmosphere, which has relatively similar mechanics. However, Gnosia has the same "time loop" motif, where our main protagonist traverses them to finally complete them all, with each loop also differing from the other. Besides the main storyline, there were also threads from the past of some of the characters, or our protagonist developing relationships with them, etc. The final episode of the anime itself leads us to the "True Ending," which is considered the best in the game and, as the name suggests, is true. Regarding t…

Gnosia honestly surprised me. I really did just expect it to be Yuri essentially playing a game like Mafia/Werewolf or Among Us, and for the time travel to be used only to turn this format into an anime. It certainly felt like that at first, but the series made full use of its premise to present a well-written story and fleshed-out characters. The beginning was somewhat rocky; new characters were introduced in every loop, and most of the focus was simply on the cast ‘playing’ a social deduction game, voting for who they think is the Gnosia out to kill the rest of them. I was worried the cast would become bloated by introducing new, undeveloped characters each loop. The discussions felt unrefined, with Yuri specifically making poor decisions that were sometimes hard to watch, making me wor…

Went into this expecting Amogus™. Came out of it this with so many emotional coaster feelings I don't even know where to begin. On the surface, it is a werewolf game/among us equivalent at first. That's how it's sold and that's how it plays out-- in the first half anyways. It's great for those who enjoy that style of intrigue. Figuring out who's the liar, who's really what role, what silly incidents might occur to out themselves... just like you would in a normal game amongst "friends". Then? Then the anime turns on its head multiple times. It's not just about the "game". The loops have meaning. The experiences have meaning. Everything matters and there are plot twists that shake you to your core. Loops where you cheer on the bad guys. Endings that you wish were the real true ending but…

The first thing you might think is that it's similar to Among Us, and if you watched it in Japanese, you'll know it features a cast of characters voiced by well-known voice actors. But this gem is seriously underrated. Visual novels and their stories are usually very creative, and this one is no exception, but anime adaptations don't always turn out well. We've seen cases like Dies Irae or Umineko, whose anime adaptations are a complete disaster. However, Gnosia is the best visual novel adaptation I've seen in recent years, and the production team's effort on this anime is remarkable and appreciated.

I don't get why people are writing negative reviews and expecting it to be at par with steins;gate when the steins gate VN is a story in itself as opposed to the Gnosia VN, which is a game first and a story second. The whole point of the anime was to keep you hooked which I think it did a pretty good job at doing from the very first episode. It is more of a watch it for the chaos typa anime rather than a linear plot hole free story. What viewers shouldve focused on was the interaction between the players and how relationships and characters develop especially raqio, setsu, sq, shaming and comet. I do like the anime very much but I'm not saying its perfect or comparable to steins;gate. all im saying is people missed the point of the anime and are blaming the story too much. The charact…

Gnosia belongs to that rare category of "almost-perfect" anime that surface without warning, shattering expectations and leaving behind a strange, nostalgic scent that will make you ache when remembering what an irreplaceable feeling it left you. What began as a cold psychological experiment has revealed itself to be something far more fragile and unexpectedly heartfelt. As the narrative shifts from a rigid game of deduction into a fractured, human story of identity and memory, the plot inevitably becomes difficult to follow. There are paradoxes and contradictions that seem to slip through your fingers. What the anime does well is solving the rational inconsistencies by developing on the emotional depth. The confusion mirrors the characters’ own struggle to survive a reality that won't st…

Gnosia is one of the most interesting anime I’ve seen in a while and one of the best shows of the year thus far. I was immediately hooked from the opening episode with the “Among Us” style premise and time loop, but what really made this a great watch over time was the focus on the interpersonal relationships between the characters and Yuri’s character development. Adapting visual novels into anime is always difficult, you’ll always have to compromise on some parts of the story because they’re different mediums, but I felt the number of episodes and the quality of the direction here helped make up for any shortcomings. As an anime only, I thought every episode was very well paced and the staff did such a great job of gradually expanding the world week after week, drip feeding us lore and…
