Really good anime.
I would've liked to know how long Cait Sith can live, mainly to figure out how many years passed between the dragon's birth and the final episode.
Was the mercenary cat still active by the end of the series? What about the black cat who trained the prince?
And the cat who was with the red-haired girl? Apparently, they went on their own adventure too.
Pompora and Gekkon's story was quite emotional. I wasn't expecting something like that, considering how wholesome the anime was overall.
I like that the dragon still distrusts humans. It shows that, to him, the events of the past still matter. To the cats, they might just be old stories that no longer hold much significance, but only the dragon and perhaps his mother know what really happened, since they're the only ones…

“The Cat and The Dragon” was one of the most peaceful and refreshing anime I have watched in a very long time! 🥹❤️
This anime reminded me so much of Studio Ghibli movies because of its easy to connect stories, adorable characters and overall warm tone. Every episode had this comforting vibe that instantly lifted my mood. It was the kind of anime I could watch after a long and hectic day and immediately feel more relaxed.
Each episode tells a different story about the various forest cats living in this world. While the stories are mostly separate they all share one common connection that is the Winged Uncle or the Dragon from the title of the show.
Every cat has a completely different personality but they were all so adorable that I couldn't help but fall in love with them! 🥹 Character…

This was a cute slice-of-life story with well-written characters. It has a fairy-tale feel, and although the pacing is a bit sluggish, it’s fine overall—it doesn’t compromise the storytelling.
(Also, why did the dragon remind me so much of Sylus from LADS? 😭😭😭 Anyways…)
The animation is good, with a nice art style, but the story, even if the pace was okay, felt just a bit too all-over-the-place for me, even though all the plots do tie together in the end. The characters carry it with warmth, and the visuals add to the cozy atmosphere. Some threads wander, but they eventually connect, so the journey still feels satisfying enough.
Overall, it’s a good watch if you’re bored or need a palate cleanser. It’s not perfect, but it’s charming, gentle, and easy to enjoy when you want something…

A lighthearted anthological show tinged with melancholy.
The animation is fair, the soundtrack is good, and the various plots are entertaining. Overall, I thought this was pretty good with fun snippets of various species forming bonds with each other. And then episode 11 came along. What a masterful piece of storytelling. That's all I really have to say about it.
Since I'm forced to pad out this review some more, I'll add that I haven't felt so strongly about a show or movie (in a good way) since I saw The Remarkable Life of Ibelin and Violet Evergarden. It may seem generic to some, but I recommend sticking with it to at least see the 11th episode.

(Spanish review on my list)
I really like cats, but I’m pretty burnt out on stories set in magical fantasy worlds... still, I needed an extra anime to watch on my commute home. So, I gave this one a chance; it’s basically a series of standalone, highly episodic stories showing small slices of life for cats in a magical fantasy setting.
The problem? Well, there’s this "dragon cat"—a recurring, immortal character who is the reason cats hold such a high status in this society. But it turns out these aren't ordinary cats; they’re magical, talking cats capable of wielding magic even more powerful than humans'.
Ultimately, it just becomes another generic magical fantasy anime—only with cats. It sticks to the usual formula of guilds, adventurers, and various clichés. On top of that, the episod…

On a weekly basis, this was a breath of fresh air. Relaxing slice of life. This reminded me of the vibe of Handyman Saitou in Another World.
After the first episode were set differently in time in this World where - as the synopsis explain a dragon is raise by a Cat then the dragon-cat become their teacher, their protector and overall, overbearing "Oji-san".
But there's also other people that grew to be important in this World where human and cat become symbiotic after a tragic incident and this season is a mash-up of those relationships, those traditions and culture that build their daily life but also their post-tragedy new existence.
I truly hope there's a 2nd second with a more linear process like what happened in Handyman Saitou in Another World because it would give us some extra…

Well, if anything, this is going to be another sleeper hit of 2026, as this year has gone. This easily caught my eye because I'm a fan of animals, and this is really interesting. The synopsis is easy to explain as it starts off with a dragon laying an egg in a cave and bury it to stay warm and nurtured. Time passes on and this pregnant cait sith, dubbed Mama-nyan, voiced by Kikuro Inoue, gave birth within the same cave. Mama-nyan nurtures her litter, sending off her mana below where the dragon egg has been absorbing it. It hatches, digs out of the ground, and imprints towards Mama-nyan. In return, she raises the baby dragon as its own. One day, as Mama-nyan is teaching her litter magic, she is summoned to become familiar to a student at this magic academy. Beforehand, she advices her famil…

This ended up being one of the best anime to watch during the season of Summer 2026, given its sparse title of The Cat and the Dragon. Much of the credit has to be given to its premiere episode establishing who the dragon is among the cats. It actually had dark undertones of one parental death and one involuntary maternal abandonment. Let us just say that because this is an anthology about cats and not just one about a dragon raised by a cat, it had more delightful and heartwarming stories to tell.
The animation is just standard, but solid. It did not need to be flashy given the cats and the story were the ones doing the heavy lifting in this anime. No doubt the positive message of cats working with humans together really hit home for the viewers.
Now that it has ended, I recommend bingi…

This anime doesn't really has continuous plot, but it has a different story for each episodes (but it still in a same setting). With only 1 episode the story telling really can make you rooting for this cats even thought they just introduce you the character. The story is circulating between life of smart cats with this "cat" dragon, and unique interaction with humans.
The animation is quite good and the art is really fitting, and with good music. It ended with mostly recap and was hoping more like some resolution, but with the setting I think this is acceptable.
Overall really enjoyed watching this one, definitely checking the source material!

In anime fantasy is one of the most populated genres out there. However a non-isekai where our protagonist is a dragon who leads and protects the magic-wielding cats. The first episode plays as a short movie where it showcases Ryuu and as well the human relationship between these cats. The episode ends where there is an agreement for peace between them.
From episode 2 onwards it focuses on many different humans and their relationship with these cats. It characterizes both the cats and human very well. The relationship feels very human which really adds a lot. Every cat and human gets solid characterization. Each episode in a way like episode 1 feels like a short film. Though a few episodes have a carryover from previous episodes.
Due note there isn't any plot in this show if you want som…

The Cat and the Dragon — My Genuine Thoughts
The Cat and the Dragon was just the kind of anime I needed to unwind. I loved how it focused on the everyday lives of its characters without constantly throwing in big conflicts or dramatic twists.
That calm, colorful storytelling is what kept me excited for each new episode. There was something truly soothing about watching the narrative unfold at its own pace and simply enjoying the ride.
My sincere recommendation: if you’ve had a rough day, are looking for something chill, or just want to indulge in a lively and heartwarming tale, you should definitely check out this anime.
Sometimes, you don’t need a gripping storyline or non-stop action—you just want an anime that allows you to kick back, relax, and savor the experience. And for me, The…

Neko to Ryuu deserves at least 100 episodes. It is a pure wholesome show that highlights everything good about the world. Even monotonous slice of life things can be made interesting by the sheer charm that this show brings. There are quite a few wholesome anime that can highlight a very narrow specific feeling spectacularly, neko to ryuu does this in many ways simultaneously. Many themes of what family is, how history develops and generations build upon one another, the nuance of good and evil, how we can be understanding to overcome our differences. Pretty much anything that is pure and wholesome is explored in this show and it is done beautifully.

I’ll start off by saying my negative opinions are purely because I was expecting something different from this anime. It’s not a fantasy anime about just a cat and a dragon, rather a slice of life-y series of multiple cats and for most of the show, their human companions, neither of which felt like relatable characters you feel like following along that strongly. I suppose it’s by design but it resulted in bland kind of feeling for me. In addition the dragon doesn’t really have the kind of presence you’d think it does, and its character doesn’t exactly have much growth so yeah.
If you want a nice cozy anime you can finish in a day and watch without wanting or needing to be super invested in, by all means watch it. On the other hand if you do want something more there’s better places to lo…

A wonderful anime, simple story no drama no action not even romance, just a story about a magical cats (yes cats, not Humanoid cats) start living together with humans and help them to learn magic (there are magic in this world but the cats is masters in it).
There no just thing like a villains who want to destroy the world or something like that.
You don't see this kind of anime so often, this kind of animes is very lovely and relaxing.
The animation and the art is great and the sound track is good.
If you want a good relax anime than watch this.

Despite it's very dark moments in 1st episode this anime is in it's core fantasy slice of life one. It was enjoyable watch from start to end, although it's very structure is it's biggest strenght and it's greatest weakness.
Animation and music: quite solid. Animation is fluent and you can tell they did not cut corners here like some other shows. But giving the nature of the show there was no need for it and I am so glad this was the case. Music is industry standard, no unique soundtracks but the music has that fantasy relaxing theme to itself which made the show that much enjoyable.
Overall - music and animation may be industry standard but they are done with love and case, they make the show that much enjoyable.
Characters: quite a lot of them, each with their own personalities and qui…

Cats and Dragons are very alike, they both have claws, tails, four legs, and one of them can spew fire.
The Cat and Dragon is a collection of stories with many characters that goes again. Each episode is either a new story or a continuation of a previous story. This does maybe not give the deepest plot lines, but it does create a world that feels alive and expanding.
So the plot of the show is very loose, since it builds multiple different plot lines. Each of these have different lengths with some of them being short and others long. There are also times when these plot lines cross and make a shared story, before branching off again. Though all the stories do have a fundamental relation to the beginning of the show, which is the relationship between cats, humans and dragons. This all sho…
