Yet another amusement park ride of agonizing dementia!
No matter how hard I try to force myself to watch this creation to the end, every single attempt just makes me sick. As great as the first season was, the second one was just as stupid, and the third was completely invalidating… And now, the wheel of Samsara comes full circle, and in the fourth season, the viewer is once again watching the exact same narrative pattern by Tappei: Subaru is once again wallowing in a puddle of his own guts, relearning his own worthlessness.
And while this was somehow watchable in the first season, and just a bit dumb in the second (which can be described as a flea jumping around on a hot frying pan), in the fourth season, this endlessly repeated trope triggers absolutely no emotion. None at all. Yet ano…

it's def the best season of rezero so far and it only gets better, i love what tappei did for subaru this season, all the characters got their own development and it's well written as always.
tbh i did not expect amnesia subaru but it was def ell excuted and our goat locked in as always
only critic would be good loser episode, like im glad vincent worked on it but i wish we got what he did for garf vs eight hand guy in s3 cus that shit was just insane af and i loved it more, there was def a bunch of corners cut in good loser episode and i heard it was a demo, man that's just sad i wish he got more time to complete it.

First, I should clarify that this is not really a review of Season 4 alone. It is a review of the series as a whole, based on how I felt after watching all 85 episodes up through Season 4.
After spending this much time with Re:ZERO, I finally realized what my fundamental problem with the series is: I simply do not get along with its obsession with depicting everything in extreme detail.
And by “detailed,” I do not necessarily mean “carefully crafted.”
For the amount of time the series spends on its story, the payoff often feels surprisingly small. Re:ZERO takes its time depicting conversations, psychology, relationships, worldbuilding, and every intermediate step in great detail. This certainly gives the story a sense of reality and density, and as an adaptation trying to preserve the t…

As an anime-only fan who has watched everything from Season I to Season IV, including the OVAs Hyouketsu no Kizuna and Memory of Snow, I can confidently say that this anime is one of the best isekai stories I have ever watched.
A. The Things I Praise:
1. Masterfully Written Plot & Interconnected Narrative
The plot itself is masterfully written and I absolutely love it. It’s not just a straightforward, predictable adventure; it feels like a massive, intricate puzzle meticulously planned from Season I all the way to Season IV. Every small detail, piece of ancient lore, or minor mystery dropped early on actually matters, building up to insane plot twists seasons later. One of the example is the mystery of Theresia van Astrea; the contradiction of why the world still remembered her despite be…

Re:Zero Is the Best Isekai of all time.
And it's not even close anymore.
When the first season came out, it was just an introduction to the world of Re:Zero. It's a huge universe, so season 1 covered only a tiny part of it. As a result, certain characters hadn't been developed yet, which is fine because the story hadn't reached that point, and other important characters hadn't even appeared. Overall, although the first season was very well received, there was criticism too, and looking back, I can say I mostly disagree with it.
The protagonist's behavior. Many people said the main character is a whiner and just plain dumb.
Subaru Natsuki was made that way on purpose. And this isn't one of those cases where "they did it on purpose" excuses something bad. But the problem is that it isn't…

i guess it's only been a year since the last season, but it kinda feels like ages. i can't even remember the previous seasons, all i know is they were interesting and brutal. and now... ugh, there is this guy crying in almost every episode. So our "hero" spends all the time bitching because he forgot all the stuff that made him cool and when he does remember, the event turns into a fluff-piece about how awesome he is and just how much everybody loves him, and then he still cries some more. Why they decided to draw that poop-face in almost every episode is beyond me. Anyway, Emilia is the one that took the leading role, she really kicked ass! The fights she had in that tight purple spandex were the only redeeming element in the season, they were a pure pleasure to watch. As i recall, she wa…

(Spanish review on my list)
The entire season took place in a single location; I get overwhelmed when stories with such vast worlds "waste" so much time stuck in one place... Then again, several seasons have been like that, and at least here they had a valid excuse for being cooped up.
It was a plus having the characters lose their memories—watching the protagonist confront his past from "zero" all over again and lose his sanity once more. I really did enjoy the season; it was satisfying to see them making progress and actually achieving their goals—seeing both main and side plots advance, along with character development...
BUT—and this will always be my gripe—it’s a world with so much lore. For someone like me—a casual viewer who doesn't obsess over series and has a bad memory—there a…

Don't believe the "19 episode" lie. There are 10 episodes in this season. Episodes 1-7. Then Episodes 17-19.
Episodes 8-16 can ONLY be described as a complete waste of time; even to the biggest fans of Re:Zero.
More storytelling and plot development happens in Bleach/Naruto filler than in episodes 8-16 of this season of Re:Zero. That is an undisputable fact.
Unironically if you skip them you won't miss a single thing or lack any understanding of what is happening. To spend 9 episodes spitting in the face of viewers as you force them to wait for literally anything to happen is disgusting behavior.
Gave this season a 6/10 only because it was animated fantastic as always, with great sound design as always. Had they simply made a shorter 10 episode season and left out the 9 episodes of not…

WE ARE SO BACK
Season 3 was horrendous. I usually rewatch an entire series from start to finish when a new season/part comes out, but I completely skipped it and relied on a recap video instead.
I was afraid they would abandon Subaru's Return to Death ability since there was that whole thing about him using it as little as possible and relying on friends instead. Season 3 had far less psychological horror and mental games, and a lot more generic and boring fights. Will not go into detail since I wrote a review for season 3. Needless to say, season 4 brought us right back to peak rezero.
The horror, gore, trauma, mind games, sudden resets, ptsd, and more that I love so much about this series are back and better than ever. There's a bunch of mediocre and cringe parts since it's rezero aft…

ANIME OF THE MOTHER TUCKING DECADE YA'LL!!!
100/10 IN EVERYTHING.
THIS IS THE GREATEST THING EVER AND I'M BEYOND grateful 😭 🥺...so grateful to be alive to witness this.
As an Avid Re:zero Fan since 2016, I'm glad it all led down to this. This season was beautifully crafted, although there were bits I wished were added i still can't complain, the storyline is just too incredible for it to fumble.
See, Re:zero just placed itself as not just the greatest Isekai work of fiction ever but the greatest work of fiction EVER! This is psychological Horror done right in a genre that has been drowned in genericity and obviosity. I love it beyond words.
Anime of the year 2026. Anime of the decade. Anime of the lifetime.
Love Dorohedoro S2 but you've been topped i fear. Still, great company, gre…

Well for the arc that people stated to be the peak I sure as hell expected more from the beginning and the ending.
I'll start by saying I do not like the production of s3 nor s4. The artstyle , character expressions , movement all seems jarring and unnatural. I hated how characters burst out in loud voices for the delivery of really forced jokes or one line exchanges with an attempt at showing ''good banter'' when they all just feel so awkward to sit through. Adding winks to Julius, how he reacts to Subaru's lame reddit ass advices and his look from s3 and s4 compared to s1 just makes him look fruity and not elegant or firm. I'll start also by saying that I think season 3 is one of the worst animes I've ever seen and that im so glad I'm able to rank seasons separately because to me season…

After running for the 4th season, I think it's about time that we tell the truth: this series is in a bad shape—and a very bad one at that. While the music and visuals are acceptable at the 2026 level, the characters are now on par with the Western's level of superficiality.
Looking for characters with strong value or deep development? Forget it. Not to mention that the plots are becoming contrived and theatrical almost everywhere. This formula has now become increasingly predictable and stale, but it works for viewers with low media illiteracy because it exploits gore and shock value.
To be sure, I believe this is the intended effect since this anime is targeted toward teenagers, but its maker is playing a short-term game which may make them increasingly irrelevant. There is for example…

Re:ZERO Season 4 is everything I wanted from this series and more. After waiting so long for Subaru, Emilia, Rem, and the rest of the cast to continue their journey, this season reminded me exactly why Re:ZERO is one of my favorite anime. The story constantly kept me guessing, and even when I thought I understood what was happening, the series would introduce another mystery or completely change the situation.
What I especially loved about this season was Subaru’s character. He isn’t some overpowered protagonist who can solve every problem by himself. He’s scared, emotional, selfish at times, makes mistakes, breaks down, and still forces himself to keep moving forward. Watching him struggle mentally while trying to protect everyone around him is one of the biggest reasons Re:ZERO f…

I rarely use MyAnimeList these days, but after witnessing the fourth season of Re:Zero, remaining silent would be a failure of my sacred duty. All I can do now is accept the light that has descended upon me, surrender what remains of my free will, and spread the word to those who have not yet received this blessing. I approached this season expecting to watch an anime. I now stand before you as a man whose immediate plans for the future depend entirely on the answer to a single prayer: “Okay Google, when does Re:Zero season 5 drop?”
And yes, brothers and sisters, I could simply look it up. But that is not the point. The question is how this anime continues to do this to me. How does a story reach this level of depth while remaining so offensively addictive? I attempt to appreciate the writ…

I am not really a Re:Zero fan. In fact, I think both Season 2 and Season 3 were below average, heavily overrated, and nowhere near as good as people often make them out to be.
However, this season was easily the best season of Re:Zero so far.
-Spoiler Warning-
The main reason this season worked so well for me was the "new Subaru." He felt much more mature, analytical, and realistic than the old Subaru.
The old Subaru always felt like someone whose entire personality revolved around Emilia. When he was first transported into another world, he barely questioned how he got there, how he could return home, or what had happened to his family. Instead, he almost immediately became obsessed with Emilia and started following her around. That never felt like a believable reaction to me.
The ne…

Re:Zero is simply amazing, I don’t even know where to start! This season has surpassed itself in every aspect, and I believe it might be my favorite season after the second one, though all seasons are incredible.
Re:Zero is absurdly well-written, every character has something that makes them unique and allows the viewer to empathize with them, which is extremely rare to find in anime today, whether in the Isekai genre or not. Subaru is a character who keeps evolving, always becoming more complex, which is far more interesting than just showing a character getting stronger like many other anime do. Emilia is my favorite character alongside Subaru because she is also in constant change. She’s not just a romantic interest, she’s the protagonist, with her own personality, and she keeps surpa…

Tremendous improvement over the easy-going shonenslop with the ultimate NTR villain that was S3. The tone and mystery are closer to S1 and parts of S2, even if there are ample shonenisms later on. S3 was tamer and light-hearted compared to other seasons because there was minimal use of return by death. The author's trashiest writing tendencies tend to reveal themselves during lighter moments or when he foregoes resets to reshuffle the plot in new and unexpected ways. There are two main factions within the Re:ZERO fandom: those who want Subaru to suffer more and those who want him to suffer less. S3, the outlier thus far, epitomizes the latter faction, while S4 and much of the rest of the series align with the former faction. Luckily, our favorite NEET otaku punching bag is again getting sp…

The worst season so far; the amnesiac Subaru arc was unnecessary and very annoying to watch. The fights lack the excitement of previous seasons, and events seem to unfold haphazardly and inconsistently while trying to force you to make sense of a completely messy plot. I’d say it was worth watching for maybe three episodes, but after that, I couldn't stand it anymore. Don't waste your time on this; I doubt the other seasons are any better—I think the author's writing has gone downhill. That inflated rating is just down to a bunch of fans who will watch anything Re:Zero—even if it were, say, a whole season of Subaru studying history and geopolitics, they’d still rate it highly just because. This last episode just made me even less interested in watching future seasons.

"You are an Amazing guy Natsuki Subaru" ~ AmnesiaBaru
What a season. What a journey that was. The larping, the aura, the hype, the plot. Everything was peak. Literally an unforgettable experience. 11/10. When people will talk about the best anime season, Re:ZERO will always be mentioned.
Following Re:ZERO Season 4 was prolly one of the best moments of me watching anime. Every week felt like an event. You'd finish an episode and just sit there thinking about what the hell you had just watched. The amount of tension this season managed to build was insane, especially during those moments where Subaru was constantly pushed past his limits.
And SPOILER WARNING man, seeing Natsuki Daniel was something else. AmnesiaBaru was genuinely such a weird but fascinating experience. Watching him try t…

Is Re:Zero the best anime ever?
Clearly, one could immediately object to the very notion that an anime could be declared "best." Is it not a matter of taste? Different strokes for different folks and all that. And Re:Zero has clearly been divisive in its reactions. Some love it, some absolutely hate it. I do believe, however, that once we examine what divides the lovers and haters of Re:Zero, it is possible to make a case for Re:Zero being objectively "the best" of the whole art-form that is anime. How?
What divides people around the question of Re:Zero, more than anything, is without a doubt the character of Natsuki Subaru, the MC. There is something somewhat predictable about this divide, considering Natsuki's deep character flaws. Natsuki is a counter to the isekai trope of an overpow…
