I made it about 17 minutes in and asked "why are people rating this so low?" And then I understood.
The story is bad. It's terribly paced and the story isnt really that interesting and it's triggering.
So the art was actually my favorite part. The cityscapes and arcade shots, a lot of the backgrounds, are just really good. Too bad the animation is so bad. Lots of slow panning shots that hurt the pacing mentioned before. The character art wasn't bad, but not enough to save this.
The sound had some good piano and then terrible sound effects that were out of place.
I don't know if i'm supposed to like any of the characters.
This became difficult to watch part way through. It was not enjoyable.

I watched this out of curiosity. It was pretty easy to find in decent quality on YouTube. I don't know if I'm just dumb and wasn't paying attention. But the scene that comes after the swimming tournament didn't make sense to me at first. They just shoe horned in a random scene of the swimmer being catered to at a night club. He was being served alcohol and smoking cigarettes. They don't make it clear until later that he is in highschool still. Though that is what it makes us assume.
Their were some inconsistent and bad animations to the characters in this as well. It was really ugly to look at. Other than that it was an okay OVA. I think this probably only appeals to those who like the manga. Overall, I've seen much better Yaoi anime. Ones that don't randomly throw in a rape scene for zer…

Story
Story line is simple. Some plot questions remain unanswered. Was it consensual or persuaded or rape? Did the main character learn the mistakes of his way? Character's choices were double sided which led to improper rooting. Normally when a scene gets bad the audience tends to favor the depicted good person. Now regardless or reason if a person is capable of assisting with an evil act such as rape are they still a guy? I find the answer easy with a no but i will let you think about it.
Art
no complaints. I appreciate given the semi evil underlying nature the movie showed nothing brutal. Other than shocked expressions and a few blood drops.
Sound
If you can get past the low/faint hum and slightly robotic voices the anime does provide some insight to grasp…

I am not so so sure as to why people give this anime ova a pathetic 2 marks? I think it deserve a little better consider when this is being produced... Also, I have read up that this is a prequel to a manga..
So yes, after watching all this, I do get hype up to watch the manga, but that aside, I wished, there could be another ova, just to explain how yuuji suddenly has that interest in that guy and how did that 'rape' occur? I mean all these explanations are missing which makes absolute no SENSE.
Overall, I will still give it a decent 4, as I said it does keep me watching but there are tons of room to improve on. Yeah.

I absolutely love yaois! but this, this was pathetic, terrible and thats pretty much it! The beginning I was bored, and I was bored throughout, even at the end!!!!! It's like WTF? this is not a good anime, I would not recommend it to many except those people who have watched evry other anime and wanna watch sumtin they havent watched yet!

So, this is what I gather happened during that half hour:
Our hero, Matsui, is a doe-eyed, innocent uke who looks just like a brunette Shirou Kamui from X. While waiting for his friend Yoshino to get them sodas after watching this guy who looks like Tamahome from Fushigi Yuugi swim, said guy, henceforth Yuuji, accosts Matsui on the bench and takes him to a bar where some guys throw money in after betting on a high school swim match. Matsui is stupid enough to drink and smoke what they give him, and he eventually leaves. Good for him. Whatever. The typical long-haired tech and this other guy have sex.
