Introduction
A Keio University (one of the top three colleges in Japan) exam candidate, Touma Inaba, is interupted when a cute young girl, Urara Kasuga, arrives at his hotel room door. She later turns out to be his cousin who he barely remembers from his childhood. Urara, who had felt something special for him (an other-than-cousinly-love), invites Touma to live with her since he has no place to stay other than the hotel room. Before taking the test, Touma meets Meiko Yotsuba, a beautiful, sophisticated woman also trying to get into Keio. Meiko gets into Keio but Touma does not, due to a cold Urara had given him shortly before. Although he did not make it, he pretends he does to earn the respect of Meiko. Touma is caught up in a love triangle with Urara and Meiko, while struggling to keep Meiko believing he's really a Keio student and still be there for Urara at the same time.

This series desperately needs a tragedy tag for Urara's sake. The protagonist is the most irredeemable character I’ve ever encountered; his actions are beyond toxic. Even after reading the manga hoping for some character development or atonement, I was disappointed to find the opposite.
The art style is actually quite decent for the 19s. However, the character writing feels flat as the male lead lacks any redeeming qualities, and the emotional payoff is nonexistent. I wouldn't recommend this unless you enjoy pure frustration. It would be a much more satisfying story if Urara simply rejected him and left him to suffer alone.

Its a decent and fun love story if you can stand that early 90s cheese (shouts out to the english dub cast lol)... the main issue with this anime is that it just kind of abruptly ends in episode 12, I know most anime are meant to be a commercial for light novel, manga, gacha etc etc... but good ones have at least some kinda wrap up for the season, this one just ends with basically "go read the manga now" and I did get me interested to go and read it, the issue is that it was never officially translated into english, so basically if you want to see how the story ends.. you cant.
But if you dont mind not being able to see how the story ends... whats there is pretty enjoyable.

I just finished watching Sakura Diaries on a whim after "Strange Love" thinking it was going to be another sexy girls anime.
Instead I found of the most hearttouching and funny romance anime ever!!!! It was soo much more for just 12 episodes!! So real for university students! I could feel the pain of the MC Tonma Inaba! 😭 His desire for the most gorgeous girl ever and the burden of entrance exams...
I literally watched the first 10 episodes in one night...
The animation was so good, the expressions of the hot girls were gorgeous especially Mieko, who is maybe the most GORGEOUS, breathtakingly beautiful and sexy anime girl I've ever seen, and drama is so gripping! The tender moments of the cast with their friends against the heartrendingly, mellow japanese soap opera background music…

This anime/manga is not a romance anime, it is a hentai
The protagonist is poop, he is a bad person. The topic discussed is pedophilia, the insect, abuse, attempted rape and infidelity.
The male lead is one of the worst I've ever seen.
The animation is good for the time it came out, but the story becomes murkier in the manga and the male protagonist is the bad guy of the story, he is an unscrupulous pervert.
MANGA SPOILER ALERT
The girl is in love with her cousin whom she has only seen once in her entire life. And she becomes submissive and forgives him for all the horrible things that the male protagonist has done to her like when he tried to rape her. Later they become a couple and have sex all the time which causes her to get pregnant and lose her baby. She recovers from a tumor an…

Usually when I watch an anime that has a large following I can understand why people might like it even if I dislike it. This on the other hand is one of the few times that I don't understand what the appeal might be at all.
The art and animation is decent, it's not outstanding by any means, but it does the job, isn't stilted, and doesn't have a ton of animation errors.
The sound work is ok, the ending and opening music was really my cup of tea and there were spots here and there where the music didn't really match the scene but I didn't find myself getting angry over any of the sound choices.
What I did find myself getting angry over was everything else about the anime. The story it's self was a frustrating jumbled mess. It almost felt stubborn in a why, like it was refusing to budge, re…

Sakura Diaries, created by the prolific adult-manga artist, U-Jin, surpassed every one of my expectations and delivered one of the most heartfelt themes about independence, pride, and responsibility.
Sakura Diaries focuses on our protagonist, Touma Inaba, a slacker whose ambitions are those of a selfish nature and whose desires are those of a lustful encounter. Touma isn't interested in going to one of the top colleges in Japan, Keio University, and merely wants to take the entrance exam as a souvenir token. His intentions is suddenly turned on its head when he bumps into Meiko Yotsuba, a remarkably attractive woman that Touma quickly develops feelings for soon after their brief confrontation. Along the way, Touma meets up with his cousin, Urara Kasuga, who is deeply in love with Touma an…

First things first. My "reviews" system is explained on a blog entry. Which can be found through my profile.

✦Story
Story had actually got quite fairly enjoyable development. I did hate the story/thematic itself though. Which I ought to mention more under "characters" section. To be honest, I cannot remember much of this Anime as some time has passed since I watched this a.k.a didn't review with fresh memories. But I do know I started skipping at some point, I was intrigued with the development but really hated characters there for various reasons. The way it was wrapped up was also quite unsatisfying.
✦Art & Sound
For it's time I think it had good enough style to it. Fanservice was as well good enough looking.
Music & OST I think had some good tracks, but mostly I didn't notice…

No complex thing you can find in Sakura Diaries. Story is well developed, you want to watch the next episode quickly. Soundtrack is great, also ending and opening themes are so nostalgic and makes your feelings top while watching. I could not believe it ended when i watched 12. episode and said 'What kind of great people are creating those animes!' It is a perfect love - slice of life story including some hot scenes, please dont think about those scenes too much (people generally vote low when it is hentai-like anime) and dont think it is a kind of hentai, no, it is the beautiful and funny side of the author's emotions. Just like, im the main boy, i cant help myself to dream of sleeping with the hot main character it is so challenging but also she has emotions which i cannot see while im t…

I'm very Very Very Very Very2x Mad to the creators of this anime. 'cause yesterday while finishing episode 12 and i keep on telling to myself that i can't w8 to watch the next episode and then when i notice that i've only download 12 episode 'cause maybe i just missed the other one and i rush and check it to the list of episode in the net and then when i saw it I started to scream NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO it has only 12 episode what the F*** they just cut to black. If you gonna start something at least try to finish it. This anime is totally a cliffhanger.
To be honest i really like the story 'cause it was easy to watch and i really like Urara she reminded of the band ELT(Every Little Thing) to their single Urara and she's the only reason why i'm watching this anime 'cause i really love h…

Sakura Diaries really pulls at the love strings the entire way through.
It really is an amazing story touching on taboos, reality and the difficulties of life in general.
The art style is your typical 80's and 90's look.
What grabbed my attention was how the artists paid so much attention to detail. The backgrounds were fully drawn, the frequently visited environments did not change at all detail-wise. It's as if they had a fully drawn out environment for every scene.
There is frequent nudity in this show, although you don't ever get to see anything "too" revealing or inappropriate.
This show is a very impressive work of art.
The sounds were great. The English dub is surprisingly good for this show. The music was great and sometimes I felt that the voice-actors understood the emotions th…

So, Sakura Diaries. It's about a guy, who likes this girl. And another girl, who likes the guy who likes the other girl who is also his cousin. Typical Rom-Com stuff, right? WROOOOONG.
This is one those series where everything shouldn't work, but does. The main character, Tounma is stupid and often comes off as a jerk. His cousin, Urarara, is ditsy and doesn't make very good decisions. His love interest, Mieko, is self-involved and distant. And in the end, no body gets what they wanted. But even though the characters make bad life decisions, they are still endearing in their own way.
Actually, in a way, they remind me a little bit of Flannery O'Connor's protagonists; flawed human beings but very *human* ones. In many series, protagonists come off as either perfect or complete losers. Wh…

::QUICK REVIEW::
Story: 6 (Lots of taboo but its a good love story)
Art: 5 (90's Cel Art isn't my thing, looks better than DBZ)
Sound: 5 (Old school sound effects, overemphasize things with sound)
Character: 7 (Relate w/ main character very well, minus the sis-con)
Enjoyment: 8 (Lotta fanservice... she's not my cousin ^_^)
Overall: 30/50 = 6.0 (Balancing two girls and a double life can be hard)

Sakura diaries is an ecchi drama comedy centered around your typical character failure named Touma Inaba. His problems start right off the bat in episode one when an unknown call girl barges in his hotel room and hinders his test performance. But between failing so much and so many chance encounters with a girl of his dreams. A fairly fun drama unfolds. I would like to emphasize th…
