Definitely brings back memories of the Windows glory days, even if I was never completely around to experience them in their prime. This commercial kinda feels like a time capsule. It's nothing remarkable to the average viewer but it's kind of nice how the company went out of their way to cater to the otaku market with this character. Wish I was able to still buy her software set, but I'm far past Windows 7. It's hard to write a lengthy review about something so simple, and something so relatively obscure that it's seldomly mentioned on the world wide web. However, there's no doubt that you (whoever randomly stumbles upon this) will feel similarly to me in a way. On the topic of the character herself, the art style is adorable as well as the character design. She's become a personal favor…

Lion Tamers; I'm about to get ugly. "Madobe Nanami no Windows 7 de PC Jisaku Ouen Commercial!!" To begin, I want to talk about advertising. While we all know that advertising can often exaggerate beyond the bounds of propriety, we try to assume the publishers of the advertisement in question, won't outright lie. Not so with "Madobe Nanami no Windows 7 de PC Jisaku Ouen Commercial!!" But first, let's get to the parts that were good. 1). The sound is passible, and the little tune, is cute. 2). The artwork is very good, but not to the standards of some of the high-art anime pieces. But what can we expect of a 1-minute commercial? It's very passible. 3). The story is, as we can assume from it being an advertisement, a bubbly piece with little relation to reality. Just like other pleasant a…

This is basically what happens when you mix anime with a computer company. You get a awkward commercial with an anime girl in it. All she does is show how to build a Windows 7 computer and the features it comes with. Story 2/10 There is no story cause it's a commercial. But you got to admit you have to give them credit for it. Art 8/10 Decent artwork. Similar to many anime arts in a way. Sound 7/10 Good music for a commercial. enough said. Character 5/10 There aren't any other character besides the girl and her boss. Would make it better with more characters (At least 1 more that is). Enjoyment 7/10 The only enjoyment is looking the anime girl as she shows the features of the computer. Overall 6/10 Overall this is good for a commercial, but not for an anime.

In Hungary, those who bought the Windows Vista and had compliments about it, the Windows 7 was some kind of redemption. Most of the PCs were sweating under the recommendations of it. I never had Vista, instead, apart from the Madobe Nanami commercial, I have installed it on my notebook ASAP. Now, the commercial's rating from me: Story: 2/10 No story, but as a commercial we ought to rate it's feeling. We had that. All ways the positive sides of a product. Art: 8/10 Will be this the New Wave of Anime Art? Well, not really, but it's made simple, cute and cheerful. Sound: 9/10 Well great for some gag tone, and Nanami's continuous monologue. Just like the TeleShop: "Dial XYZ number to get it 10% less just now, just here, just on this channel". So that made it a bit funny. Character: 8/10 Fo…

This short, short OVA is about –– you guessed it –– Windows 7. The cutesy character design & animation is by Yamaguchi Satoshi who also worked on Strike Witches. For some reason, though, the sequence at the beginning makes me think more about Moetan, minus the ecchiness. It seems like Bill Gates has decided to target the otaku. And what better demographic to market your newest operating system to than those who spend most of their time watching anime and/or playing dating sim games? The star of this commercial is Madobe Nanami, voiced by Mizuki Nana who most of us recognize as the voice actress behind Fate Testarossa from the Nanoha series. Madobe means “by the window,” while Nana means “seven.” This OS-tan is much slimmer and less bustier than her RAM-heavy, older sister Vista. She also…

To be honest, I only just watched for the heck of it. Yes, we know what the features of Windows 7 are. BranchCache, AppLocker, BitLocker to Go, parallel driver execution, lighter code base, better IPv6 support, better offline image servicing tools, better update mechanisms and the list goes on. Nana-chan just made it better by being the Windows 7 mascot. To be honest, this commercial really has no point to me, but to others it might entice them to buy their copy of Windows 7 already one way or the other. If anyone asks, I do legally own a copy of Windows 7 because Microsoft gave it to me for free at some promotion they were running for system builders. And yes, I own Windows Server 2008 R2 too to take advantage of BranchCache and policy based AppLocker.

If I wasnt already using Windows 7, after watching this commercial I would have gone and bought it (and by that I mean illegally download it) Surely, if this piece of anime can slightly boost Win7 sales from the otaku market by even 1% im sure production costs of this commerical and Mizuki Nana's and Namikawa Daisuke paycheckes would be covered. Madobe Nanami also says goodbye to the old and busted heterochromia eye style and introduces the new hotness quad-colored eye style, which by the way I now expect to see in animes a lot more often, because once you look into her eyes, you will shall be unable to return to plain old single colored eyes. So with this new move which once again makes me question the kind of powerful drugs the Japanese marketing teams use in their staff meetings, I…

Making an animation promotion video of nanami for windows 7 is just a wonderful idea. First animation commercial for Microsoft, and it is well made too! I've already seen her on the wallpapers I've found on the net, and now I just saw her on a video. So for this most unique animation commercial I would give it overall a 8. --- Story has to be "1", because there is no story. Art is normal, pretty good how they did make that animation of building a computer together. And Nanami was also pretty cute in the animation. ^ω^ Sound is just normal, not good or bad. Character, well Nanami is THE cute character of this promotion video for win7. And in this case, there's no need for character development rating of course, so that putting aside. Enjoyment, I found it pretty funny, and it's…

This is why Microsoft has a marketing dominance in Japan over Apple. Additionally, this is probably one the best PC advertisements that I have seen in my life. Screw iPod advertisements, bishoujo always gets the customers.
