To Your Eternity

Introduction

An Orb, known only as It, is cast to Earth to be observed from afar. Capable of changing forms from beings whose reflections It captures, It first becomes a rock and then, due to the rising temperature, moss. It does not move until one snowy day, a wolf at death's door barely crosses by. When It takes the animal's form, It attains awareness of its consciousness and starts to wander with an unclear destination in mind. Soon, It comes across the wolf's master—a young boy waiting for his tribe to return from a paradise abundant with fish and fruit in the south. Although the boy is lonely, he still hopes those whom he holds dear in his memories have not forgotten him and that he will reunite with them one day. The boy wants to explore new surroundings and decides to abandon his home with It to find the paradise using the traces his tribe left behind. However, with a heavily injured body and no sight of his elder comrades, what will become of the boy? Fumetsu no Anata e illustrates the story of an immortal being experiencing humanity, meeting all types of people in many places throughout time. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

An absolute 10/10 emotional masterpiece that explores the raw beauty of life, death, and humanity. have so much to say about To Your Eternity that it gives me that exact same speechless vibe as Fruits Basket. The story is completely unique; there is absolutely nothing else like it in anime. Watching an immortal entity evolve through centuries of human connection is an incredible setup, and the plot is so beautifully unpredictable that it keeps you entirely invested. The art style is perfectly fitting for the story, capturing everything from quiet, snowy landscapes to intense, heartbreaking battles with a gorgeous, cinematic atmosphere. The characters Fushi meets along his journey are brilliantly well-rounded, each possessing their own deep flaws, unique strengths, and profound dreams. Th…

To Your Eternity Season 1 is one of the most frustrating anime I've watched because it shows flashes of absolute greatness but never consistently maintains that level. The first half of the season was incredible. The opening episode immediately hooked me, and the March and Gugu arcs delivered some of the most emotional moments I've seen in anime. Watching Fushi learn what it means to be human through the people he meets was powerful, and several scenes genuinely hit hard. During these episodes, I thought I was watching a future masterpiece. Unfortunately, the second half didn't live up to the same standard. The story shifted more toward the Nokkers and larger conflicts, and I found myself much less invested in the characters and their journeys. The emotional weight that made the early epi…

First two seasons of this series were great but the third season fell off and turned into slice of life instead of the original genre, and I lost interest. What mainly grabbed my attention was the magical realism fantasy aspect of the show. I was really turned off when it turned into "High School Slice of Life" in the third season. I'm all for Slice of Life anime, but I want to watch it when I'm expecting it, not in the middle of a magical realism fantasy series. I was definitely disappointed and gave up after episode 6 in the third season, but the first season was excellent and I recommend watching.

strangeness, many many all kinds of feelings, creepiness, meanings, observers, gods, protectors... Happines :) and eye soring sadness... I loved this anime. I felt many many things in the last 3 days. Watched all there is, and heard all there was. Now all there is left is 5 episodes. Because it feels like a finale. Don't know what to feel or expect. I am glad that I was a part of this, perhaps a part of Fushi. Thank you Yoshitoki Ōima. She also wrote a Silent Voice. Yesterday, I was wondering that which mind's product is this thing. It was so wierd and beautiful. Didn't think that person also would be that one that wrote a Silent Voice. Anyways... Thank You!

To Your Eternity tells a story that begins with an almost abstract premise. A mysterious entity simply known as Fushi is sent to Earth by an unknown observer. Initially, Fushi is not even human. The entity begins existence as a simple orb with the ability to transform into anything that leaves a strong impression on it. The first forms come from contact with a stone, then moss, and eventually a wolf. The story truly begins when Fushi encounters a lonely boy living in an abandoned village in the frozen north. The boy spends his days waiting for the people of his village to return from a long journey that never ended. Through this encounter, Fushi witnesses the hope, loneliness, and fragile determination of a human life for the first time. When tragedy strikes, Fushi takes the boy’s form and…

Alright i had the idea of writing a review of this for a while now, so lets try to settle it the best we can. Fumetsu no Anata e or To your eternity is a wonderful story, adapted through a convincing and well done anime. I'll do what i can to convince anybody who wants a journey among the beauty and the brutalities of life that this show is one of the best to experience such arguments. Plot: 9 Absolutely immense, dealing with the deepest themes you can find. The meanings of life, time and feelings all converge into one huge story that could last forever, without dragging it at all, making the watcher curious and excited most of the episodes for whats about to come. The messages are so many its absolutely impossible to summarize them all, but essentially it is a very profound journey wit…

In an unexpected show, I discovered an itch I’d been longing to scratch by another show, only to have that satisfaction be given to me by this one, and man was it glorious. A while back, I had watched the current #1 anime on MAL, Sousou no Frieren, and going into it, I was expecting a similar premise to that of To Your Eternity. Going into Frieren, I was hoping for a journey where the premise of the show and its ambiguous and unique take on storytelling would have been Frieren continuing to live on despite all of her friends passing away, with the depth of her story going into the unique feeling of having already completed that one life-defining journey that you were destined to accomplish, leaving you with nothing but the after-journey experience of aging away and watching all of your l…

As others have said, the first few episodes are just, on an other level. Above all, the first episode, which is probably one of the most emotionally charged that I have ever seen, which is surprising given that the characters involved have just been introduced. Seriously, a masterpiece of an episode. After a few archs, it falls flat. This anime had the potential to become a masterpiece, an intrincated story whith unforseen events and consequences, unpredictable due to its nature, but instead it becomes a drama, centered around the backstories of other people and losing it's touch. I would have loved that the first episode had some real follow-up, but instead it is forgotten along the series even though it is so esencial for the story to exist. Even though I had a great time watching it,…

"To Your Eternity"s first episode is one of, if not THE best first episodes I've seen in any show. While a bit slow, it's captivating and beautifully devastating. This anime is fantastic, it checks all the boxes. There's great plot, cool fighting, death, an enjoyable, interesting mc and plenty of lovable side characters. It knocks it out of the park! 10/10ths! ... at least for the majority. How this anime drops off in the latter half of even the first season is so, so sad. It gets a bit repetitive and relatively predictable. Not bad, just not nearly as good. This show would've gotten a ten if the entirety was as incredible as the first episode, or even first few episodes! Despite this, it's still a very good watch, and deserves all the love and attention. (Overall, the majority of t…

🍐Those Gone Will Live On °7.6° °VG° 💯%🔍 only minor spoilers TYE is a story that dispassiionately-to-emotionally-back-to-dispassionately examinations the Circle ♻F Life, in circular fashion, thru the life of Fushi. Or should we say the /lives/ of Fushi? TYE reminds us: Everything perishes. Humans avoid this truth out of necessity, in part, so that we can live our lives without the oppressive gravity of constant fear. For this reason, people tend to be optimistic about the future, but part of that is denial & wilful blindness. Our journeys have a destination, or final stop. Along the way to that end of the line, many of us experience true joy and beauty, but without exception, there is a time when each of us must make camp with pain. Heartbreak, awe, tragedy & wonder usher each one of u…

Pain, just pain man. Its one of those animes that make you rethink about life. Being immortal isn't so fun. You have to witness the struggles of other people that die. Idk what to say, I'm just speechless. In this anime, you can't even love a character. As soon as you like them, they die. It is stinging good. It hurts you but you cant get enough of it. You continue to watch it even though it hurts. I dont know if I can even watch the 2nd season. Can we just not have emotional deaths? I dropped this 2 times because I could not understand the 1st ep. But after watching a youtube video, it peaked my interest once again. I dont regret watching it. Its good, I have to agree it. This can be considered one of those "S tier animes". But it hurts. It would definitely not be on top of the anime…

Really great character development and storytelling of multiple characters throughout the season. At first, it's really difficult and dull to watch, but as you progressed through the anime you will surely get attached to one or more characters... (and probably regret it afterwards). It's basically a story about how human lives and interact throughout their life, and also shows different lives of people one could undergo. Some may have a joyous life, regrets, incomplete, wishes wanted to accomplish, addiction to someone to the point of sanity, and genuine affection to another person, and finally the pure love of someone even though the person is slowly withering away. You'll understand the feeling of being immortal, what are it's pros and cons. Being immortal is not all positive, you will…

Melancholy. If I had to describe To Your Eternity in a word, that word would be melancholy. To call the storytelling powerful would be an understatement. But it isn't as simple as one word. Simply put, To Your Eternity is a masterclass in how to deliver an optimistic message about the beauty of life, but in a realistic and grounded way that never comes off as forced or artificial. Yoshitoki Ōima, who also wrote the award-winning "A Silent Voice", proves through this show that she is capable of writing some of the most compelling, deep, and emotional characters that anime fans, as well as myself, have seen in a long time. To Your Eternity is an anime about the pursuit of life, the joy in discovery, and preservation for what we now have. Our journey begins with a nameless orb, a being who…

This anime is probably the biggest fall-off I have ever seen. The first few episodes were genuinely some of the most interesting beginnings of a show. The concept and story was very unique and fantastic to watch. An honest 10/10 show from the get-go. Then it fell off. Fell off hard. It managed to go from a 10/10 to a low 4/10 by the end. The story branched off into weird stuff and no longer had what made it so good. It became a boring show with predictable scenes, eye-rolling annoying characters, and bad/lame stories. Highly disappointing show and very frustrating to see what could've been a masterpiece fall off so hard. I would not recommend wasting your time watching this show except for the first few episodes.

[Spoiler-free summary]: Fumetsu no Anata e possesses a captivating and unique premise, but falls short in certain areas. The anime follows an immortal entity, Fushi, who attempts to learn about what it means to be human through various experiences. It explores themes of love, loss and the complexities of human emotion. However, it's world-building is weak and incomplete. It doesn’t answer questions about Fushi’s existence and the Nokkers’ motivations. The anime lacks a cohesive narrative, resulted from its inconsistency in direction and pacing. Ultimately, while Fumetsu no Anata e offers emotional depth, it may not be for those desiring a more well-rounded story. [Full review; SPOILER ALERT]: Fumetsu no Anata e, or To Your Eternity, is well-known for being attention-grabbing right from…

Never have I seen such disparity between a series quality and its score on MAL (8.34 as of my writing) Let me open with this. If you want to call the 1st episode as a masterpiece, I would agree without a doubt. The problem lies with the later episodes. With the recent years of Isekai trend, I've watched and read my fill of stories with OP MCs who bend everything around him to his will. This is the first time I saw an OP MC that mainly bend to the will of side characters. and sadly that's is the CRUX of the plot. With the narrative scheme of "MC get stronger with every death of people close to them", I could only care less and less with subsequent main NPCs. In the violent world of the story, you could argue that MC immortality isn't OP. The MC knows he's weak, he knows he failed so many…

(HOOD REVIEW) You know when you always skip a song and then one day it plays and it turns out to be one of the best songs you ever heard. This is that anime. My new number one anime ! This is literally the game of thrones of anime 🥹 BY FAR the most emotional roller coaster i ever seen in any anime type shit, as a grown man why am i tearing up watching this anime . The character development is SO PHENOMENAL. What it lacks in actions it makes up for with the story line ! If you looking for an anime that’s different then the typical action shonen ! This is the one !

To Your Eternity is an anime following the main character known as Fushi. I loved this anime and I do recommend it. Fushi is not your average person. Actually has not human at all! Fushi started out as a orb sent down by what is known as the black figure. Although they don't find that out till later. Soon Fushi takes the form of a rock. (so pretty much when something dead touches Fushi he can turn into it. Overtime a wolf dies on top of that rock. And So on untill he gets the form of a human!!! Yay, but he has no thoughts soils his pants doesn't know hygiene or really anything. Eventually he gets taught certain things and becomes a powerful bein. This is a 2 Season, 40 Ep total series that I seriously reccomend, Follow Fushi along his journey while he faces off against the Nokkers. You'll…

Wow, after an awesome chat about anime, I finally wrapped up this season! I'm so excited! It was such a unique and special journey—beautiful and completely captivating. Honestly, it felt like a rollercoaster of emotions! The show was packed with life lessons and showcased a wide range of experiences through its diverse characters and feelings. I really felt like I was growing alongside the main character, Fushi. As I watched, I learned to navigate emotions and formed my own opinions about the characters. This anime was truly stunning! It felt so relatable, highlighting the idea that each person has their own unique essence and soul, which can be perceived in various ways by others. Some might see you as a fierce and wild bear, while Freddie sees you as a loyal and dependable wolf—such is…

The first 12 episodes were insanely good, an easy 10/10. Unusual idea, quality characters, probably the best episode 1 I’ve ever seen in an anime. Unfortunately, it goes downhill right after that - the Jananda arc is just lazy writing and judging by what I’ve read about manga, it doesn’t get better later on. I’d say it’s not really worth continuing after season 1 - I’ll give it an 8/10 and leave it here with more or less pleasant memories rather than keep watching and get frustrated more and more because the author forgot to actually think where the plot goes before publishing manga
